Reviews for Six Senses Samui
Review 1:Lots of mosquito and insects Worn facilities which are not user friendly Bad value for money There are mosquito and insects everywhere so outdoor facilities are mainly only for pictures. Repellent are provided but they are of little use - mosquito get used to it. You may think Samui must be like that - it is not true as we stayed in Conrad before moving to Six Senses and things are completely different there Facilities are designed to give a natural feel but they are quite worn. Lots of steps among facilities, which get very dark in the evening. In the villa there is a bath which is inside the ground, and it is the same colour as the floor with no warning sign. Given the price of this hotel we are disappointed. It could be suitable for young couple but if you are with kids or more mature couple I would suggest you avoid
Review 2:Friendly staff The resort manager and staff tried their best to help, but unfortunately most issues are with the natural environment so beyond their control
Review 3:Well, only one thing! Mosquitos! But in a place like that it's difficult to control them.
Review 4:Beautiful property and amazing view! I had the oceanic sea view pool villa and it was just fantastic! And our GEM Patrick was really sweet and amazing, always there for us! The view is to die for!
Review 5:A hotel of this caliber should offer a free transfer service to the local Fisherman's village or at least have a mini van service running once an hour.
Review 6:The personal Assistant ciaki who Looked after is impeccably from beginning of o end, the infinity pool and the beautiful villa that gave us total privacy while still having a view!
Review 7:The beach is not fenomenal
Review 8:Staff incredibly warm and kind (especially Tong and Pu), facilities at top level, breakfast is terrific, Dining On The Rocks is the best restaurant I tried in 10 days of Thailand ad very romantic. The resort is expensive but very exclusive (few guests). The villa with private infinity pool with ocean view was simply amazing! All the resort is very clean and maintained at high standards.
Review 9:Our villa overlooked a construction site - across the bay where the small beach was. This was no fault of the resort itself at all. It just spoiled our experience slightly (construction noise - and the fact that the finally completed new buildings didn't look as if they would blend into the landscape AT ALL). Unfortunately, this was indicative of the over development and ruining of natural beauty that is currently happening on Samui island.
Review 10:The staff have to be mentioned as a highlight in this resort. They are ultimately accomodating, friendly and very warm and welcoming. We stayed for 4 nights in a pool villa. One of the delights was being in a natural setting with lots of trees and gardens and picture postcard views across the bay. We were unexpectedly upgarded when we arrived which was also another very pleasant surprise. We loved Six Senses; we were underwhelmed by Koh Samui.
Review 11:1. Some guests mentioned mosquitoes. I encountered just one. I guess they improved their anti-mozzie defences! Still, I knew going there that it's an eco-resort, so do expect some creepy crawlies. But don't be put off, it wasn't overwhelming. 2. No AC in restaurants and public areas... not contradicting myself, just a note for others to be aware. Overall, it was a nice stay (thx again for the free upgrade) but it wasn't so special compared to other places I have been to that I would pay the price again.
Review 12:1. The staff - they dedicate someone to take care of you during your stay. There's a hotline direct to her mobile. 2. The views - some villas faced the bay and others faced open sea. Sea view is better. Bay view was marred by construction but no big deal. Just pull the right blinds and no more construction! Not noisy. 3. The food - in short, great food! 4. The free upgrade to the suite!
Review 13:Run down. Lacks special touches, lacks 'love'. No charm despite great fundamentals. So sad to see.
Review 14:Fundamentals of position. Some of the staff: Patrick, Bo, Stanley were top notch.
Review 15:The beach is not fantastic, it is shared and some part due to the rough conditions were dirty and not cleaned with lots of stuffs brought by the sea. We found dining at the rocks over rated in terms of food yet the location and service were excellent
Review 16:The service, the beautiful room, the main restaurant with very good quality food, the spa, the Thai cooking class, the infinite pool
Review 17:False advertising on overall standard. Misleading expectations. Communications with staff left to be desired. Hygiene standards in kitchen could be improved eg. Using bare hands to grab pre-cooked poached eggs from a plastic Tupperware.
Review 18:Some staff did try their best to rectify faults with acknowledgment of their existence.
Review 19:There are really many mosquitoes. The fogging in the resort and spraying in the rooms is not very effective. It does seem to kill geckos and other insectivores, though. The private beach is quite disappointing.
Review 20:Friendliness of the staff, the breakfast buffet, and the sunny terrace of our Ocean Front Pool Villa Suite.
Review 21:My husband preferred a better equipped gymn. Maybe can do something more to get rid of the flies.
Review 22:Very friendly staff, thoughtful and always helpful. Very warm ambience, excellent spa, sauna and steam favilities. Excellent pool.
Review 23:The complimentary bus service into town you have to pay for, The hotel should provide for free!
Review 24:The moment you arrive your every need is catered for and you get the feeling its time to sit back and relax. Beautiful views of the bays below and the hotel is in a quiet part of the Island away from some of the busier beach resorts like chaweng. .
Review 25:The bar position, all is far , in the night is too dark,!!
Review 26:I liked the room, facilities for the level of the hotel are just ok!!
Review 27:Overrun with mosquitoes. Place a bit soulless. No wow factor.
Review 28:Very good food
Review 29:great villa with see view and pool, enjoyed every minute, was worth the additional money stunning swimming pool delicious breakfast etc.
Review 30:Nothing
Review 31:Everything
Review 32:Tranquil setting. Excellent villa, especially liked outdoor showers and private pool. Great for a luxury treat but could be anywhere in the world.
Review 33:Everything, Friendly and Helpful staff
Review 34:Very friendly and professional staff, who will do anything to make your stay memorable.
Review 35:Many Insects, Lizards and Frogs
Review 36:Everything was Great except the weather
Review 37:Mosquitos
Review 38:warm weather &sunshine, scenery
Review 39:Everything, villa 88 if you are lucky
Review 40:Amazing service, friendly staff & perfect in every possible way for a relaxing vacation...
Review 41:I can say the location is far a way from nightlife district but any way this hotel is place to relax and not leave it a lot
Review 42:Every thing was so good one of the best hotel I stay in
Review 43:It s more an adventure style resort I would say. The room is approximate, it is noisy and you feel like being in the jungle. Some people might appreciate. The food is pricy and the "10 courses experience on the rock" way overpriced.
Review 44:The view of eye room was very nice. The staff is friendly and the food delicious.
Review 45:Very slow service in the On the Hill restaurant and food quality could be improved.
Review 46:Plenty of space, both indoors and out, in the pool villa. Quiet air conditioning. Comfortable lounging facilities. Organic materials of construction. Great view. Privacy and tranquility.
Review 47:Being vegetarian no choose in Manu ... Should provide pick up and drop service from airport
Review 48:Loved the place .... Very friendly staff ...excellent location ....awesome spa
Review 49:Organization on a very high level. Attention as well - we were on our honeymoon and they recognize that (free bottle of champaign, free dinner..). Calm location, real relaxing atmosphere, nice facilities made of natural materials...
Review 50:Room becoming rather shabby - windows and doors did not fit properly - AC leaked water as did the roof during downpours. Beach area full of rubbish - this could have easily been swept.
Review 51:Secluded and peaceful (apart from endless rain, wind and aeroplanes). Food in restuerants good.
Review 52:The building itself isn't completely inclosed, being a bungalow like house it was full of large gaps where insects would cone in and fill the place It's far from the center of the island
Review 53:The view and the staff were amazing
Review 54:there are only 1-2 shuttle from the hotel and we had to pay for it!!! alot of mosquitoes
Review 55:the food is great the service is amazing the facilities, the pool the room its an amazing experience, if you are in Samui you must go for at least 2 nights
Review 56:+ dining on the rocks.. food not good. they are trying to be different by mixing so many nonsense ingredients for the dishes and think created a miracle. the spot is excellent though. + Location is a little isolated but then this is highly recoverable by either hotel transportation options or rented vehicles.
Review 57:+ Went there for honeymoon.. stayed at Ocean Front Pool Villa Suite. Best place ever! + The concept of luxury is the sense of nature. + You have a dedicated butler. + Rooms were fantastic and facilities were superb. You have an ipad, ipad dock, dvd, bath, outside showers, even a wine fridge! + Excellent spa + ATTENTION TO DETAIL! every aspect of the hotel, rooms and every single architectural concept were out of this world. A human being cannot be this close to the nature and still have all the luxury available nearby! beenchanting! + Your every possible need is thought and made readily available in your room. Umbrellas, rain coats, carrying bags, whatever you might possible need to have a wonderful experience.. + WILL DEFINITELY RE-VISIT next year for a longer stay! + Personal Touch: We booked an island trip with the hotel. So they knew when we would be back. Upon our return to our room, our bath was filled with hot water and a bottle of sparkling wine was made ready next to it with a little not saying to enjoy our stay. All complimentary. + You need to go and live this place. Can't be described by comments only!
Review 58:Poor command in english especially room service staffs. Place needs morefumigation. Theres way too many mosquitoes.
Review 59:Friendly butler staffs. Spa quality is excellant
Review 60:Electrics : villa 54. light switches were complicated to work out wherethey were and just how the functioned. Not enough strong light (couldbe optional) but I have eyesight problems and needed good readinglight. We had to get staff help regularly to learn to set up dvd oripod and coffee machine. (These points were accepted without too muchcomplaint as the rest of our great Six Senses experience far overrodethese small irritations). Why pay for trip into the village? Thisshould be a gratis service.
Review 61:Huge space offered in accommodation, attention to decor detail, filledbottles of lotions, shampoos in each bathroom, dvd/ipod/ipads inthe room, butler service, friendly polite staff, views, well tendedvegetation throughout site, eco attitude, cleanliness, privacy andrespect for guest's privacy. The peace and quiet! A wonder place fora family to be together and unite - was very good place for all 5 of us.Outdoor showers - great! Two bathrooms in our villa - both used. Lovedthe villa and hotel designs, architecture and upmarket decor.
Review 62:Mosquito !! They will eat you up ,, especially if you have sensitive skin
Review 63:I really enjoyed every minute , the best way to describe it is Paradise , I loved the Pool and the view WOW
Review 64:The hotel has no beach effectively! The beach is around 200m long and isshared with another 2 3-star hotels and a private house. There's 6beach chairs. The sea is extremely dirty (plastic bottles, sea weed, there was actually a dead dolphin on the beach one day and noonebothered to clean it). We stayed over christmas time and I understandthat the prices are higher naturally, but paying $2000 per night in thehotel, where we were not able to swim in the sea for a single timeduring the whole week is outrageous.
Review 65:The villas are good, although the swimming pool was small. Best room -Ocean view pool villa suite.
