Reviews for Amaroo Motel
Review 1:Aircon vent not working using remote owing to previous guest damage. Was able to get around this problem however. Pillows too firm for my liking.
Review 2:Location was good and management both helpful and friendly. Although old, the room was very clean and tidy. Room was quiet despite facing the highway.
Review 3:Need queen beds and more comfortable
Review 4:Can walk to town or excellent hotel with well trained staff and good meals less than block away, or can walk to town for dining two blocks away, don't have worry about drink drive. Nearby restaurant hopeless
Review 5:Small bed. No extra bed. No wifi. No pool.
Review 6:Location close to main shopping street & beach Access via side street so you did not have to go onto the main road plenty of parking
Review 7:Room is clean. Good value for money. We were looking for accommodation in Margaret River and couldn't find anything over the holiday period. Busselton is actually a beautiful city, which was a great surprise! Apparently the upstairs rooms are older than the downstairs ones as we had some friends staying there and our room was better.
Review 8:For the price it was great
Review 9:Rooms were simple but clean, tea and coffee facilities, had a fridge, even with a tiny carton of milk. The shower was very hot, consistent and high pressure :) Location is great close to Busselton town, just past McDonalds. We checked in at midnight by getting our key out of the safety deposit box- nice and easy, but make sure you call ahead to get the code to open it if you are arriving late. Parking right in front of the room is very convenient.
Review 10:Room was very stuffy.Thought it could have been opened up prior to our arrival. No shampoo or tissues or wifi facilities-guess its because its budget.
Review 11:Location great although a little noisy.
Review 12:old needs needs up grading pull it down and start a freash ???? no safety rail etc in tiolet or shower basin damaged and worn ? no phone in unit charges to high for this unit hard to recommend at currant prices i need a refiund ????
Review 13:close to town
Review 14:Nil
Review 15:Location was good. Fairly easy to find. Near busselton jetty. Was expecting place to be spartan as it was motel. But the place was clean and tidy. Had kettle, toaster, toiletries, the usual stuff hotel provides! Food options just next door to motel. After reading other reviews, was expecting it to be a bit noisy but our family room was away from the highway so no noise at all!
Review 16:Paid cash for breakfast and was accused of not paying! Also, was chargeda fee over and above the reservation price on "booking.com"for booking with the Amaroo ($2.60), but wasn't given an option topay cash or use another card. Booking.com also agreed it was an uncalledfor charge. My family and I have stayed here several times in the past, but never again.
Review 17:Everything! The location is close to everything. The jetty, the shopping centres, fish and chips, KFC, McDonald's, Red Rooster. Really a great and convenient location, and very quiet
Review 18:We did not have any bad experiences but due to the design of the block we had to park away from the unit but could not class it as a bad experience.
Review 19:close to city centre ease of access from highway. Being at the back avoided the traffic noise
Review 20:Old style "motel" - good for overnight but might be a bit cramped for longer stays (family of four)
Review 21:Nice and clean - especially bathroom! Good location - our room was set well back from road. Only there overnight.
Review 22:could have had microwave and cutlery and bowls and side plates.brought food to heat up and there was nothing to use.superior room should have these items
Review 23:very clean and great location to restaurants shopping centre.
Review 24:The fact that because I had booked online they wouldn't refund 1 night as I had hit a kangaroo on my way down and wrote my car off, it was towed way on a tilt tray truck from the car park, and they wouldn't refund the other night that I had booked so I feel ripped off and would not get involved with this motel or its booking system again out of principal alone!
Review 25:Very clean and perfect location. Walking distance to Busselton Jetty, shops and fabulous restaurants. managers very accommodating and friendly. Will stay again
Review 26:Comfortable bed and good thick towels, but fairly basic old style motel. Our room was on the main road, noisy in the day but not overnight so that was good.
Review 27:Not necessarily a bad experience. Bed hard and being in Unit 2, traffic was noisy.
Review 28:Location perfect. Clean with reasonable facilities. Value for money!
Review 29:My fault- I should nave booked a twin room, not a standard double-bed room. Also there was considerable noise during the night, but I should have expected that as well. Thought the rooms might be at the back of the complex.
Review 30:Close to the main part of town. Helpful courteous staff. Clean.
Review 31:The staff where not happy, very direct. The rooms did lack some comforts that could have easily been provided. ie. a good toaster, some plates. NO WiFi... come on... modern up.
Review 32:I liked that it was close to the town site. Easy to find.
Review 33:Cost of room Cleanliness of room Close to what we needed to find ie Barretts Funeral Chapel Nice tone of ?Noelene? whom we spoke to regarding us being late checkin and what procedure we needed to follow.
Review 34:Quiet spot in the rear units. We did not hear our neighbours, or the usual sounds of running water and toilet flushes that one often finds in Motel units.
Review 35:The family room is only available on the upper level. I have an elder with me and she needs to climb up the stairs which is bad. The hot water kettle was also old, dirty and thus unusable.
Review 36:The location of the hotel is good. Close to Jetty.
Review 37:We had noisy smoking neighbours and the walls were quite thin. The smoke drifted into our non smoking room.
Review 38:The cleanliness , parking, efficient helpful staff , location and cost.
Review 39:It would have been nice to have a couple of wine glasses and seeing that you provided a toaster (good), we cooked toast for breakfast, but there was no plate to put it on - we had to use the lid of our esky. Both wouldn't cost much to provide.
Review 40:Lovely bed linen and towels. Very convenient location, and we were pleasantly surprised that there was very little traffic noise.
Review 41:Very minor things. Shower head a little old and sprayed in a few directions. Toaster looked very old, could do with renewing. Carpet in room had several stains. Had a few problems with the dvd player in the room being touchy, but got it working. Would be nice to have a microwave in the room. Wish they had wifi too. But all very minor probs, was a very comfy stay, and would stay there again.
Review 42:Lovely lady at reception. Handy laundry room to iron and wash clothes. Comfy beds, with extra pillows in the cupboard. Decent bathroom. We were in a room facing main road and the traffic noise wasn't too bad, and neighbouring rooms weren't noisy. For an older style cheap accomodation, was very clean and comfy.
Review 43:Good location. Was met at bus stop and taken back to bus at the end of the stay.I was warm and cosy and would stay again.I will recommend Amaroo to my friends.
Review 44:There is a toaster . . no plates, no knives . . hard to eat and butter toast!
Review 45:Love staying at the Amaroo - great location, great price, friendly people. Highy recommend.
Review 46:Can't complain about anything value for money
Review 47:We had an enjoyable stay, booked for one night ,and stayed another.it was close to a nice little shopping centre, close to takeaway food and a great walk to the jetty
Review 48:Not a bad experience but thought you could separate the neighbours who you located right next to us when there were plenty of rooms available
Review 49:The Back Row. Next time we will ask for No 29
Review 50:The bed sheets had a very strong smell initially, as if either they had been washed in very strong bleach, or dry cleaned. Microwave supplied and toaster, but no saucer for teacup or knife, so nothing on which to butter toast. Disconcerting that the locking latch was missing from the door lock. Verandah light on all night.
Review 51:Good television, comfortable bed and tea/coffee facilities. Heating provided. Fitted safe supplied in cupboard. Very convenient site to venues.
Review 52:Room backed onto residential property where the owner had his metal grinder going. It finished at 5pm then the noise level of room was perfect silence.
Review 53:Room was basic old style motel. Lots of hot water, shower great spotless linen. Toaster, coffee facilities large fridge & tv.
Review 54:Booking prior to a long weekend most accom was booked out took a gamble on this one and was pleasantly surprised by the value for money cleanliness location and facilities , it is not a 5 star resort nor does it claim to be it's a reliable choice and I will stay there again
Review 55:If you are looking for a place to stay that is walking distance from the main streets and the beach, then this is a fantastic spot. It's not flash, but very, very clean and has everything you need. Would definitely stay there again.
Review 56:Was worried that we couldn't make it on time for check-in before 8pm and contacted the staff regarding our situation. Wonderful service in that, we were given the security code for the safety box in front of the reception office so we can collect the keys to our rooms when we arrived. Hassle free!! Rooms were clean and comfortable with complete bathroom facilities. Surrounded with food outlets and very close to town, about 3mins drive. Will definitely stay here again.
Review 57:Good location, perfect for a place to stay when you are looking for a place to sleep but will be out and about during the day. Clean, courteous staff, parking at the door.
Review 58:I have used this motel on several occasions, and found it to be good value for money, very convenient to centre of town, and right next door to some fast food outlets. Very sorry to see that the motel is on the market, so I suppose it will soon be re-develped into something else.
Review 59:Lack of cereal bowls/spoon not helpful for Nutri-Grain in the morning, which every Iron Man requires.
Review 60:The Craymen were a little apprehensive based on the budget price and web photos. But the Amaroo exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort and style, and the location was walking distance to Albies Bar and Bistro, which is also endorsed by the Craymen. We could not have conquered the Busselton Ironman 70.3 without the Amaroo Motel.
Review 61:Road noise, our room was on the highway. This was a 1970's room that has only had the internal brick walls covered in a coat of paint since, the rest is original 70's. The hotel debited my credit card without my consent, the booking confirmation indicated that the credit card was only used to secure the booking. When I presented cash to pay for my room on checkout, the receptionist indicated, in a patronising manner, that by booking on line this was automatically paid by credit card. I wanted to avoid the surcharge.
Review 62:Nothing except for the town.
Review 63:When we arrived the receptionist was not too forthcoming. Just basically asked for payment and told to fill out registration. There was no "how has your day been" "enjoy your stay" . First impressions count for a lot.
Review 64:Close to everything. Handy having BBQ area to use.
Review 65:Noisey with car doors slamming , and you could hear people talking in the room next to you and knew when they used the bathroom .
Review 66:The resturant was nice . Staff very helpful and helpful . Location
Review 67:Not a bad experience but areas which could be better. Dripping tap in bathroom, no microwave and TV set was poor quality. Otherwise reasonable value for money.
Review 68:Clean room and comfortable bed in spite of being a bit small. Location within easy walking distance of town centre. Wide adequate parking bays.
Review 69:Only soap was provided (no shampoo or conditioner etc). I had to use my own (but I always bring my own so that's not a big issue).
Review 70:It's conveniently located, near the Busselton jetty and eating places. A parking lot and simple facilities, but good enough as we just needed to stay there for only one night.
Review 71:No cold water in the fridge, just the empty jug!!
Review 72:The close proximity to all the food spots and tourist attractions, a good spot, also it had good parking areas.
Review 73:No bad experience.
Review 74:Very good location in a popular area of WA. The unit was clean and comfortable and the airco was great. The reception and staff were very friendly. Good value for money.
Review 75:nothing thought it was good
Review 76:it was close to where we needed to be picked up to go on the bus for the beer festival. it was close to walk into town to have diner with a few drinks.
Review 77:The toilet is clean but i find that there's abit of smell.
Review 78:Quiet even on the main road, there are some eateries within walking distance . The busselton jetty just 15mins walk
Review 79:Possibly too far out 15-20 mins... Just being picky though
Review 80:We had a superior queen room and it was exactly what we needed. Was a 15-20 minute walk from the jetty and shops, and was very quiet, I hardly ever heard the other people staying. Very clean and great shower. We're only there for two nights but would stay again :)
Review 81:Some road noise in early hours
Review 82:Great location, easy walk to the center of town, fast food, good restaurants, pubs. Very clean, modern room, You wont be disappointed. Parking right at your front door
Review 83:Cost, especially for a single traveller. I ran the 1/2 marathon - maybe worth talking to Busselton Running Club to offer discount for next years event ( but I suppose everywhere is expensive)
Review 84:Pillows were quite comfy
Review 85:It was noisey, On the night of our stay a motorbike group were there. They were outside talking & drinking & in the morning the bikes were noisey taking off etc
Review 86:clean & comfortable with all necessary requirements.
Review 87:Bathroom had slight damp smell, found stray hairs on the floor. Furniture dated. Outdoor traffic can be clearly heard.
Review 88:Central location, clean bedroom and sheets, spacious. Easy check in process.
Review 89:The shower could do with a do -over . When son flushed toilet, the water in the shower went really hot.
Review 90:the cleanliness, location (right next to #1 restaurant in Busselton , fast food places and beach) Aircon is good, tv works Friendly staff
Review 91:Walls can be a little on the thin side (or, more likely, people are just inconsiderate . . ) Would be nice if there was a knife in the room . . toaster was there . . but I can't butter toast with a plastic spoon :D (I tried)
Review 92:Location - very close to the Jetty and foreshore . . across the road from Subway, too :D Staff always friendly and happy to help out with a smile. En suite is huge - plenty of space - lovely rooms.
Review 93:Only downside is that we slept the whole night not knowing our window was wide open! Very worrying. We didn't hear much noise outside due to the positioning of our room (Queen Superior room) and the curtains. However we felt a bit sick knowing that we were vulnerable to a break in without knowing it! Pillows were hard and very flat. Bed was quite hard.
Review 94:I wasn't expecting much from a cheap motel and didn't need anything fancy as it was just an overnight stay. However, my partner and I were pleasantly surprised that there were no bugs, it was very clean, smelt fine, thoughtful attention to detail. For example, glass cups were actually wrapped in paper to ensure they remained hygienic! TV worked fine, shower was hot, neighbours were muffled. Very soft silky blanket underneath the main blanket.
Review 95:I booked a superior room as part of my accommodation plan for the annual Ironman Western Australia. I went there with my girlfriend and stay on for 5days 4night. The room was spacious and the toilet had surprisingly well-equipped. The room was situated at the back of the site which makes it quiet since it is quite a distance away from bussel highway. Staff were friendly and pro-active to ensure that everything was in perfect order. Daily room cleaning services was professionally executed. Definitely recommended for those who seek value for money accommodation.
Review 96:Furnishings were a bit dingy. Pokey area for tea and coffee and fridge. Not much milk for 3 people.
Review 97:Easy to find. Comfortable bed. Plenty of hot water for showers.
Review 98:We were impressed by the helpful cheerful staff that greeted us on arrival then by the cleanliness of the unit itself. I would recommend this Motel to all and sundry . Jim Bundaberg
Review 99:Family owned business with great customer service. Had an issue with DVD player which was replaced instantly after hours. Hotel was affordable, convenient location and clean. Would highly recommend! Owners made the stay better as they were friendly and caring towards guests including my partner and myself.
Review 100:Nothing,
Review 101:Very clean, good sized room with comfortable bed with crispy clean sheets. Bathroom and toilet also very clean with great shower and very hot water.
Review 102:We booked a family room for 4 adults. The room rate is value for money. Cheapest among the 4 hotels/farmstay I have booked for my 8 days holiday in WA. Clean. 5 min drive to Busselton Jetty.
Review 103:beds where very uncomfortable, stale smell from carpets, traffic noise annoying bathroom needs makeover
Review 104:position , close to main thoroughfare , walking distant to restaurants and café,
Review 105:Some more hooks in the bathroom would have been handy. Also a microwave and some wine glasses would have been great.
Review 106:Great location an easy walk into town. Staff very helpful.
Review 107:found no fault
Review 108:check in took 5 min, staff friendly, room was good as were facilities, no problems close to town and café convenient to visit other areas.
Review 109:Lacks shelves or drawers for clothing. Wash basin surface deteriorated, needs replacing, but would stay there again.
Review 110:Spacious room and bathroom, room for baggage. Easy short walk to restaurant. Helpful staff. Enjoyed our three nights there.
Review 111:There were no breakfast facility or any light cooking availability in room, not even a toaster. The motel itself had no dining room and only catered for continental style breakfast if required. The hot water in the shower suffered the usual WA syndrome of being very hard to regulate the temperature. i.e. either stinking hot or freezing. I think this even fluctuated with other room's water usage.
Review 112:The Superior rooms were comfortable, clean and quiet. These rooms being away from the main road; not sure if the cheaper rooms fronting the highway would have been as quiet. Good bathroom and toilet space.
Review 113:The kitchen facility was really lacking. I was surprised that the water jug didn't switched off automatically - ours boiled over, creating a hazard. There was no microwave, no wine glasses, no dishes or eating cutlery provided - to enable us to have a basic meal in our room. We had a tea cup and one teaspoon provided, with a small amount of milk/ teabags. Better kitchen facilities would have made our stay much better.
Review 114:The hot water system was excellent The bed was very comfortable The air conditioning / heat was good. The room was clean. Front door parking was good.
Review 115:Facilities in need of renovation
Review 116:Convenient position on the highway Price to a degree reflects level of accommodation Clean rooms with parking at door
Review 117:Apart from no microwave, nothing really. Can't really fault the motel. Will stay again definitely.
Review 118:The motel was very close to the town unlike the expensive fancy hotels which are a min 7-10 min drive away. It was an old, basic place to stay but extremely clean with comfortable firm beds, next door to Red Rooster in case you felt a bit peckish at night and had a great laundry room. An oldie but a goodie! Lovely, helpful staff.
Review 119:bit noisy right on highway, we couldve been given back room as wasnt overly booked out
Review 120:TV, fridge, toaster etc , extra pillows, clean, good lights to read by
Review 121:Strong bleach smell which went when we opened windows and doors for several minutes and also ran cold water in shower recess.
Review 122:Just wanted a no frills overnight stop. Clean. Accessible to what we needed and well priced with adequate hot water.
Review 123:Rooms could do with a sink and plates, cutlery etc otherwise quite enjoyed my stay
Review 124:Stayed 3 nights and no towel change.
Review 125:Great location. Good clean value for money motel.
Review 126:Bit noisy
Review 127:Walking distance to food
Review 128:Good location. Clean and neat rooms.
Review 129:Clean rooms, friendly staff, good rates
