Review 1：A proper ryokan experience with excellent food. The onsen is delightful. Unzen is a beautiful town. I speak Japanese so had no issues communicating with the staff. To address the previous review criticising the staff's lack of English - if you want a genuine Japanese experience, you probably won't find one in a small town where they speak perfect English. This caters to Japanese guests, and all the better for it.

Review 4：It was close to the bus stop, the staff were super gracious. We had half board and were treated to a fantastic dinner brought to our room and with more than 10 items and delicious and the breakfast was great, too. The were nice-sized hot mineral baths. This was the most unique and memorable of the 8 hotels in which we stayed at during this trip
