Review 1：The town of IJmuiden isn't very interesting -- but if all you're there for is the ferry, then that doesn't really matter.

Review 2：Friendly and well-managed hotel. Very good value. An ideal place to stop if you're waiting for the ferry to Newcastle (as I was).

Review 3：It is about 49 busstops out of Amersterdam and good luck figuring out the bus schedule and stops. Also if you buy an Amsterdam public transit day pass... well this hostel is outside the limits. You will still have to pay to get in and out from this hostel everytime. I believe there is a pass for an extended area though... go for that!.

Review 5：Room was over night club and very noisy till 5am! I was offered a change of room but declined as didn't realise the noise would go on so long. Would love to have had a kettle in the room for early morning tea without having to get dressed to get hot water from the kitchen. A little far from Amsterdam

Review 8：We like the friendly and happy staff who spoke excellent English.. We shared a very generous breakfast and were asked if we wished to have bacon and eggs as well as the Continental items provided. The room was minimalist but very clean with a view of the neighbourhood behind. The free Wi-fi was the fastest we have encountered in Europe.

Review 9：It had the atmosphere of a seedy night club.It was noisy at night, rooms not sound proof and music kept us awake till 4am We found it very basic plain accommodation and expensive. We had 2 children and they were given a full price double bed room which was not even on the same floor as us. After asking we were put closer but still not together, despite a booking email explaining we were travelling with children, requesting single beds. My family found most of the breakfast except the toast, inedible. We stayed because it was close to the ferry terminal but it is too far to walk especially with luggage.

Review 16：Have stayed here twice, this time for three nights. Good location for exploring the area to the north of Amsterdam. Avoids the busy roads around the city. Good choice of restaurants within walking distance and close to the ferry terminal. Visitors should note that the fast flying ferry no longer operates although still appears in brochures.
