Reviews for The Royal Islander – An All Suites Resort

Review 1:None

Review 2:Manicured, spotlessly clean room and grounds. Awesome staff! Concierge (super friendly woman) welcomed us explained the hotel and local area layout. On site travel staff was terrific, he (Antonio?) explained our options, booked our excursions, and even walked out to front of hotel with us and told the cab driver exactly where to bring us. Really nice touch I thought. Great option for those not looking for all inclusive places. We were gone during the daytime so spending money on all inclusive hotel would have been unnecessary and more expensive option. We ate and drank as much as we wanted and still saved money over an all inclusive option at different resorts. Would definitely book it again.

Review 3:No gym. However they have tennis courts! :)

Review 4:A great condo resort with all the benefits of an all-inclusive without the exorbitant cost. Large suit and balcony. All the amenities of home. They allow you to enjoy a cigar and take in the view.

Review 5:Unhelpful staff waiting only for tips, extremely uncomfortable beds. They require to leave clean kitchenette otherwise there is charge 70 dollars taking from your card as they have details.Guest have to use back smelly elevator as the main one has been out of service a while

Review 6:Big room with nice ocean view, good breakfast.

Review 7:Very central and near Cancun airport. Very friendly and pleasant atmosphere. Good pool and right on the ocean. Able to use other Royal hotel facilities.

Review 8:reception could give more information during check in - about the key room system, towels, local bus, surroundings etc.

Review 9:free upgrade to the beachfront villa with amazing views facilities including bars, restaurants, a grocery store, massages, transport, tour operators etc. close vicinity of the Royal Carribean and its facilities - for example a cafe or a gym the beach, the pool, the room and were very clean sunbeds and towels free of charge excellent food - breakfast, light lunch, dinner - grill, drinks etc. friendly staff and sellers with very good English and customer service nobody pushed us to buy anything, not even on the beach room key system - the key serves as credit card El Rey ruins and Playa Delfines nearby

Review 10:I asked on booking.com I was traveling with bday biy in the group with me and to maybe have a little something for him! and none of the staff knew/remember to at least say happy bday to my one in the party! they were blah! next morning I call to ask about check out time since we only spent there one nite, they threat us if we check out long than 20 min (it was 10:30am) my credit card will be charged for a fully extra nite! again rude and rushed us up crazy to get downstairs!

Review 11:love the beach!

Review 12:The hotel is 10 minutes drive from outside eateries

Review 13:The pool was great as was the on site restaurant. The convenience store was fabulous with fresh produce and good coffee

Review 14:The beach could have been cleaned more from the seaweed. Overall Cancun is a very touristy place with a lot of big hotels at the beach. If you enjoy the comfort of a 4-star all inclusive hotel, this is your place, if not, Cancun is probably not the right place for you.

Review 15:Nice and clean rooms, all get a little beach view, some with terrace. Big pool landscape with sundeck and beachview. There is a shop in the hotel. The water is stunning and turquoise with big waves at times. All in all a nice 4-star hotel at the beach.

Review 16:We booked a 3-bed suite, but upon arrival, after a long flight, we had to make up the 3rd bed ourselves. Not what you expect from a classy hotel like this. Even when we pointed it out they only dumped some sheets from the closet onto the bed for us to it. It is situated in a hotel area, not the city centre (which is clearly indicated before you book).

Review 17:Spacious room, nicely situated with a view over the ocean.

Review 18:Poor restaurants and food options at the resort (mini market for groceries was good and cheap though). no ramp for luggage. Might be a llittle far from other happenings and nightlife in Cancun.

Review 19:Clean big room. Comfy beds. Great wi-fi. Stunning view. Quiet resort.

Review 20:We stayed for 5 days, and reserved a room for ocean view. What happen was not acceptable at all by changing our ocean view room to pool view room. When I told them about this issue, they said there is beach view and that cost more!! What is the different between ocean view & beach view! This is kind of stealing money but in different way! Also, we asked for Taxi from the hotel, and the Taxi charged us 200 USD for half day. And the funny thing is, the front disk always know nothing!! It is Bad experience for me as a First trip

Review 21:Beach was awesome, but never feel comfy

Review 22:Ridiculous hotel operation - they operate from Sat-Fri, which means if I check in on Fri, I have to change a room on Sat (11-12). I can't go for a day tour like Xe-Hal because I have to change room.

Review 23:I hated the fact that you moved us from our room to another room that was dirty..that was such a inconvenience to us, and when I asked why you were moving us you had no real answer for me! Except that's what you do on the weekend, I also payed for a ocean view I got a pool view and a little bit of ocean view..that was ridiculous, obviously you guys do not know what an ocean view is very unsatisfied

Review 24:I liked the friendly staff

Review 25:Its not a hotel for young people who wants to have fun, is more a type of hotel for relaxing and have time to share with family. They don't put music at the pool bar area. The hotel is very quiet.

Review 26:The staff and the food.

Review 27:No breakfast A bit far from city center for the night life We need to give tips for everything Expensive beach towels (12 dollars just to rent) We were a couple but we got 2 beds instead of a big one as we required

Review 28:The big swimming pool The bar in the swimming pool The beautiful beach just in front of the hotel The amazing viw from the room I am allergic to gluten and they cooked gluten-free pasta for me at the hotel restaurant The nice activities we can book from the hotel A staff guy in charge of welcoming and presenting Cancun and all important information The small but usefull market in the hotel open everyday

Review 29:room did not cleaned for 2 days due the independence day of mexico

Review 30:very nice beach. clean and close to the hotel. have shuttle bus to the other royal hotels which help to arrive to the city.

Review 31:Choice of restaurant is limited with respect to variety of cuisine. Limited to mexico food and some very general western food. Could be better if offer Asian food or noodles alike dishes. Coffee shop is awful during the stay I did not have a decent cup.

Review 32:Private beach is a big plus. Room is comfortable except the blanket is very old school and not comfortable. Room is big and bright.

Review 33:When it rains it is not possible to get to the restaurants without an umbrella (not supplied - and there is no coverway). Annoying policy of changing guests' rooms every Saturday whether or not they are long or short stay (better management of time shares ought to be able to avoid this, certainly for guests staying for only a couple of days). Reception is not particularly efficient and there are very long queues at check-out times.

Review 34:On the positive side, the pool and beach area is great, and the cleaning and restaurant staff generally friendly and helpful. The little shop on site is useful for water, beer and basic food provisions

Review 35:Bit of an old building, wish they explained in more detail the facilities available to us as they were connected to other resorts.

Review 36:They upgraded us from a seaview to a beachfront room, even without us asking! Was the low season so I guess they had spare rooms but still, great offer!

Review 37:Telemarketing people pushed too much in order to collect in advance, even 2 weeks BEFORE I had to catch my plane,,,

Review 38:The room was fantastic and there is a tourist office inside the hotel that helped us a lot getting to Chichen Itzá and Tulin.

Review 39:The personnel at the reception was rude. And also the personnel around the hotel ( other staffs) also slapdash, talking loudly or laughing when the guests around. Also from the main enterance to the road, there is a lıttle bit along way and you need to walk there to reach the bus stop. There need to be a shuttle or ring to the main road. We are exposed to the hard rain while walking.

Review 40:Hotel was large, clean,It has a supermarket inside. You can find everything you want.

Review 41:when we arrived the hotel staff did not make us feel welcome. Expensive food.

Review 42:Nice room, great location, a lot of activities to do, great beach, great pools. Clean.

Review 43:It is very confusing with the layout and we kept getting lost.

Review 44:We were supposed to check in at 3, but arrived earlier and were allowed to put our bags and change in our room before it was cleaned. Then it never got cleaned but we immediately got moved to another room. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool bar.

Review 45:The service experience was terrible! Very unprepared staff at the reception. We had to change rooms because of hotel availability to which we found out when we check-in. Not enough, we had to get in line again next day to change into a new room (check-in twice). We had problems with the room key twice and had to wait for the maintenance to come and fix it twice in order to get into the room! (We lost 20 minutes each time) In order to get the internet password when the hotel changed us to the second room, I had to call 6 times the reception until I finally got the password! Resuming, the overall service in the hotel is terrible, in exception of the staff working at the restaurants and bar!

Review 46:We have enjoyed the swimming pool and the space right at the beach!

Review 47:I never write reviews but now I have to. As soon as I was getting readyfor bed, I noticed there were hairs on the pillows and blankets. Ididn't think of it too much but after I fell asleep I woke up anhour later with rashes on my skin on the side where I slept. I thoughtit might be mosquitos that got in my room so I let it go. Until thenext night when I fell asleep and again and hour later I woke up andhad rashes on the other side of my body were I slept. I did not sleepat all. Worst Nights Ever!! I only had those rashes while I was inthose beds.

Review 48:Wi fi worked

Review 49:Leaving

Review 50:We traveled with our 3 teens and stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. We were right off the beach and loved our room. There was plenty of space for all of us to play and get some quiet time away. Everything was so easy and the restaurants were good.

Review 51:an hotel getting a bit old - in this category to pay for fitness center (8 USD per day) is not acceptable !

Review 52:we had a suite - nice place - nice swimming pool - nice to have access to the other Royal Caribbean for more facilities

Review 53:bit far from the centre of things, but frequent buses make it easier. No toiletries in bathroom.

Review 54:right on the beach, excellent wifi, very nice, friendly and polite staff, great pool, property well-cared for, prices for drinks etc not excessive

Review 55:room was not cleaned properly- other peoples hair on the floor. Staff did their jobs and that was it. They were not prepared to do any more than that- only the bare minimum.

Review 56:Hairs of previous guest are left on toilet and bathmat, really disgusting. Wi-Fi was poor, slow and unstable. Cellphone (Telcel) was completely out of range in my room. Very thin wall. Noisy Air conditioning.

Review 57:Reasonable price. Helpful staffs. Near bus stop.

Review 58:The hotel didnt have a lot of options for food and the restaurant shut at 9.00pm. The room didnt have a tea/coffee service complimentary. we had to purchase everything incl sugar from the store

Review 59:Well located in front of a bus stop. Friendly staff.

Review 60:Need more time !!!!!'

Review 61:Great beach....sea turtles swimming to shore to lay eggs....world class shopping.... Ruins with history of bustling civilization thousands of years old....

Review 62:We had to pay to use the gym Our room wasnt cleaned up on saturday because there is no housekeeping. Also we were not offered breakfast. They made us switch rooms and when they did they gave us a room that was not clean and wasnt made up.

Review 63:The beach and the pool

Review 64:We had to change room on Saturday which was a complete hassle because we stayed at the hotel only for 6 days and ended up losing half a day packing and moving rooms. The whole process was badly managed and when we complained about it, the manager pretty much said that that's a hotel policy and they move 40% of their guests every Saturday. Another thing that was apparently the hotel policy is not to get rooms cleaned on Sunday!! On Sunday, all the maids get a day off... The room was very poorly cleaned during the week anyway so it did not make much of a difference. This did not stop maids from leaving envelopes on our night stand asking for tips though. Furthermore, although the rooms are supposed to have a terrace and sea view, unless you are not staying in a big suite that comes with a kitchen, there is no usable terrace. Whether or not you get the sea view depends on the room you're put in. Finally, the hotel did not provide shampoo or body wash and gave one old towel per guest. Overall, for the price you pay, expect just very basic - two beds, a bathroom and beach access.

Review 65:The room had two beds. The beach area is not as noisy as in the two neighboring hotels which had live shows and people screaming and chanting on the mike.

Review 66:Persistent Concierge Expensive shuttle - airport transportation

Review 67:Clean, safe, friendly & polite staff, very attentive, free wifi, sufficient space for family of 5. Easy & cheap city bus access. Any Royal Hotel in Cancun (3) will accept room card.

Review 68:The front desk staff person. No eye contact, no attempt to make me feel welcome or to accommodate me in any way; never offered a bottle/glass of water. Just dismal, ghetto-ish service.

Review 69:My experience with the door staff/luggage handlers. They were very cordial and attentive.

Review 70:There is truly nothing I disliked about my stay at the Royal Islander.

Review 71:The spaciousness of the suite, the swimming pools, the beach front location, and the different types of local restaurants. Having a kitchenette was very convenient for those early morning days with limited breakfast time.

Review 72:I didn't like the way my concierge Melly Took care of my family and my brother's family it was a total screwup and nobody follow up with us to see how things are going very bad customer service. I also reported a safety issue with Melly and the front desk my daughter almost broke a leg and nobody did anything about it very careless. I wish you could be on my shoes so you could understand my frustration we came all the way from Atlanta Georgia to relax and have a good time but that the not work thanks to your front de I wish you could be on my shoes so you could understand my frustration we came all the way from Atlanta Georgia to relax and have a good time but that the not work thanks to your front desk team and concierge. Will never return to your resorts

Review 73:I like the way you take care of the turtles and turtles eggs

Review 74:Everything is terrible, terrible value of money. Besides they are tricky and they have a hidden charge that they don't tell you about, they charge you $14 USD as a charity donative. If you ask what that charge is, then they tell you they can give it back if you don't want to be charitable.

Review 75:Terrible choice, the hotel is bad and has nothing to do with the pictures shown here.

Review 76:The food at dinner...can't remember name of restaurant...but not the formal one and not the taco place. It was pretty horrible for dinner!

Review 77:When moved to our specific building #6, we had an amazing view of the hotel and beach! Our Villa Suite was lovely with great balconies! The front desk staff was amazing...letting us not only change buildings to get a better view (no extra cost), but also letting us check-in early and check-out late at no extra cost!!! I also like that there is a small supermarket right in the hotel!

Review 78:The hotel is overall very clean and comfortable to stay in. The first big dislike was having to pay $8 to use the gym, which is the other property, Royal Caribbean. People need to beware that many additional costs and extras will pop up and that goes for any place in Cancun, sadly.

Review 79:Great location Super market in the hotel

Review 80:That although your Bed is Made up and the Room is cleaned everyday, you need to buy your own dishwashing Liquid and have to Wash your dishes in the Basin.

Review 81:The View, And the proximity to all close by activities

Review 82:There is no option to pay for a late check out . Could not freshen up before our flight ! Hotel restaurant was expensive for no reason so headed to town for all our meals as we didn't get an all inclusive . Am glad we didn't though because the food else where was much better value for money.

Review 83:Lovely hardworking staff . Room was a good size for the 3 of us. Perfect view. Happy hour at the pool is a must.

Review 84:We were on the 8th floor and our Wi-Fi did not work well at all; also we were disappointed that there was a fee to pay for the workout room; we chose not to work out

Review 85:We loved the villa; we also loved the breakfast pastries in the Royal Market

Review 86:Didn't stay long enough to use amenities.

Review 87:The stay was short but it had a nice size walk-in closet. The kitchen had all appliances and two pull down beds

Review 88:I liked pretty much everything but the free wifi is not strong and the strength varies from where you are in the hotel.

Review 89:The location is fantastic and the staff are very polite. Room overlooked the sea and beach was clean too.

Review 90:We didn't realise it was a time share facility until we booked in. On booking the concierge frowned and said most people come from Sat to Sat. As we had already paid we were disconcerted to find that there might be a problem with our booking and asked why the booking had been accepted then. It turned out okay but initially we were shocked to find out 1) it was timeshare and 2) we might have to change rooms part way through (this didn't happen) but we did not feel very welcome at that point. Staff generally won't provide information unless you directly ask the question. e.g.there is a shuttle that goes between the various Royal Resorts. We decided to look at the others and took 3 shuttles throughout the day. When it came time to take the shuttle back to our resort we asked what time was the next one and was told it was 5 pm, so we got a drink while we waited the 45 mins. When the shuttle came we weren't allowed on it because we weren't on the list. This was the first we had heard of a list. This was a busier shuttle as people were taking it to go to dinner. The concierge told us it was not his problem that we didn't know about it and to tell the concierge at our hotel. We had to pay for a taxi to get back. The concierge at our resort said it wasn't his problem if we didn't know, and didn't ask. So ask the right questions because they won't tell you and will get a bit snaky if you complain. This is probably the next step they need to take in their customer service training i.e. teach them that feedback from customers allows for continuous improvement and should be listened to and not dismissed and the customer told it is their fault. They will try to sell you timeshare while you are there, but you don't need to attend their sessions if you don't want to.

Review 91:Location was good, clean, pleasant. Local buses right outside the resort.

Review 92:My welcome team guy was not very responsible. He gave us discount for the tours but instead I need to attend their membership sales presentation for 90 minutes. After I attended, I still paid the regular price for one of the tour. I need to call him many times to get hold of him and asked him to explain me why.

Review 93:Location and wifi

Review 94:Some employees are rude and not like any help, hotel food expensive and not good, far from the nightclubs!

Review 95:supermarket, ocean views rooms, high speed internet, clean and comfortable rooms and wonderful beach!

Review 96:I wish the rooms would have had shampoo and conditioner, I didn't plan on bringing those, and the ones I would have purchased from the hotel market were bigger than the size of container allowed in carry on baggage.

Review 97:I really liked the location of the hotel along the strip. The bus stop made it convenient to travel to other shopping and restaurant areas without having to pay high taxi rates. The beach was very well maintained and had plenty of lounge chairs to go around. I really appreciated that the hotel market had very reasonable prices on food and drinks and other items that we needed, it may have been the only business in Mexico that we found to have reasonable prices. The beds were quite comfortable which was so nice coming from staying at a resort in Playa where we could not say the same thing. I appreciated being put in a room with easy access and a great location, I have no doubt that was intentional based upon availability and that I wasn't just assigned some random room. I also appreciate being allowed a little bit later check out and then being welcome to make ourselves comfortable in the lobby until it was time to leave for the airport.

Review 98:There's a general attitude to charge you for every little thing. Printing two pages with the flying tickets, 6 dollars... Little glass of lemonade, 6 dollars... No shampoo in the bathroom... Weird smell in the reception area

Review 99:It was annoying to get stuff's attention without having them trying to sell us the timeshare. We just had basic few questions about the area but we had to wait for our "own personal concierge" (which means the sales person) Since this is not a regular hotel (which I didn't know when I booked it) the room doesn't have any basic stuff such as shampoo & conditioner. Bed was also too soft so I didn't get good sleep.

Review 100:Location was good Room was clean and spacious

Review 101:I had a defective telephone and reported it, but nothing was ever done to repair/replace it during the 2 weeks I was at RI. I also requested a handicap stool for the shower/bath and received a GIANT 2' x 4' stool that couldn't be used - it took up the whole shower! The sound levels on the large screen TV were "all over the place", needing constant readjustment when changing channels.

Review 102:I liked that once you check-in and give RI a $300.00 USD pre-authorization by CC, everything you buy at RI is placed under this pre-authorization and only later charged to your CC. This results in no foreign transaction fees from you CC company, since the charge is in USD,

Review 103:Not being able to pay with cash. We were not aware that everything had to be assigned to your room account and there was no choice

Review 104:Staff extremely friendly and courteous. Lovely location on the beach. Special mention of Ronald in the Cayo Largo restaurant who was very attentive and friendly. Our only small criticism was there was no evening entertainment if only for a couple of hours but the whole experience was nontheless lovely.

Review 105:All contact with staf except with the tourist/towel area were unfriendly & rude.

Review 106:Pool, food from pool side restaurant. Staff in the towel deck were very helpful & friendly.

Review 107:weird behaviour of the staff incl. managers no hotel rules / private club rules (not known at the beginning) poor food at the hotel restaurants (no taste at very high price) dirty places in the hotel outdate furniture no shampoo nor balsam in the room (just to remind - it’s a 4star establishment) mediocre choice of TV channels policy oriented staff (no client approach) very poor WIFI (no access at the beach, very weak signal in the venues)

Review 108:good location at the beach

Review 109:The bathroom, however, did not come with many toiletries. It only consisted of a soap bar.

Review 110:The room was large. The kitchen is a good size and is very clean. The bedroom is large and it opens up to a balcony which is nice and spacious with an oceanfront view. The bathrooms are clean and the living room also opens up to a balcony with the beautiful view. The balcony had a dining table and some chairs to tan.

Review 111:Not kids club that you can leave the children. The activities for small kids was poor and you need to be with them at all time. The bar and restaurant close at 10pm. Not intertaiment at night time so you will need to find where to go. And all the good things are 15 min away. To get a bus you will need to walk for 7 minutes down a hill, not security to get in to the hotel, it was no gates there.

Review 112:The apartment was perfect for a family of 5 people, will be good up to 7 people as well. You can use the others hotels facilities; like Royal sands and Royal Caribbean. A bus will transfer you for free between the hotels. The service at the pool was excellent, many sunbeds avaliable everyday without getting early in the morning to get them, bed at the apartment really comfortable.

Review 113:The food was good, but lacked variety.

Review 114:Excellence in upkeep of the property, friendliness of staff, layout of the property, nice clean beaches, plenty of loungers around pool and beach to accommodate everyone. Crowd control for those who just couldn't seem to follow the rules, but not too strict with minor violations.

Review 115:Loved how clean and well cared for the property was. Even had workers clearing the beach of the seaweed each day. Food is also reasonably priced. Overall very impressed and would definitely recommend to others.

Review 116:I felt like I was in San Diego, not Mexico. The place doesn't have any character at all. It felt very sterile and very American. There are several restaurants to choose from onsite but everything was very TGIF like.

Review 117:Overall this place was just okay. Nothing horrible but nothing great either. The best thing about it was the beach. The beach was groomed every morning and there were not any rocks or coral to worry about.

Review 118:I wasn't crazy about the "time share" pitch. I knew it was a time share and I didn't want to have to buy in. no matter how much free stuff or deals they can offer - I don't want to spend 1.5 hours of my holiday listening to a time share pitch.

Review 119:The staff was all friendly and they made us feel like we were important. The place was clean, cheerful and comfortable. It was not luxury but at the price we paid it was what we hoped for. We really appreciated the quiet and calm of the resort in comparison to other resorts. We didn't go to party and really liked not having to be around others who did.

Review 120:Not suggested for crazy party lovers/ spring breakers. It's a quiet family resort, most of the facilities close at 10pm. Food choice is limited (but good). The room changing on Saturday is indeed a little time consuming, but you were advised about it since the first day of stay, so, overall, it's a trouble you knew about.

Review 121:Amazing staff, especially the waiters. The beach staff is incredible, always ready to help. Really great service! Rooms clean and comfortable, perfect view. Fresh food. Indeed a family/quiet resort, but, personally, I consider this a bonus, especially since I visited the resort during Spring break.

Review 122:Not much, in general it was a nice stay.

Review 123:Even though it's not all inclusive, you can still get free bikes, volleyballs, surf board, towel and etc. staffs are friendly, sea view is beautiful and amazing, we got a room that right faced the sea, which had an impressive view. Cafe had enough choices of food.

Review 124:Changing rooms on Saturday morning.

Review 125:Staff really friendly, specially Ignacio from the beach and Gloria from the laundry. Prices from services like laudry and from groceries from the market inside the hotel were really good. The small market had everything we need. Exchange rate of the front desk was the best in Cancun. Wait to change money at the hotel!!

Review 126:It would be nice to stay in the same room throughout the stay. A little more expensive then we thought. Things add up quickly.

Review 127:Beautiful beach. The local buses run up and down the hotel strip almost every two minutes. It costs less than a dollar. The staff was very friendly. Very quick check in and out. We were allowed a late departure and shower.

Review 128:Full of American tourists who have a tendency to 'claim' sun loungers etc. annoying and loud. Also the hotel is a bit like a retirement village ie the clientele is primarily in the family or elderly categories. Not great for couples and not great if you are on a hotel package and not part of the 'club' as you get the worst rooms. Our room was musty and needed repairs and refurb. We asked to be moved due to the smell and you would hav thought we were asking for their first born. Pretty under whelming for the price. Staff were ok but never really looked like they wanted to help and had to be pushed.

Review 129:Hotel was close to several archeological sites and the cancun Mayan museum, also direct onto the beach.

Review 130:Having to switch your hotel room was really obnoxious and not very organized. The food at this hotel was geared toured the tourists, not much local flavor involved in it at all.

Review 131:The views, the room size, the staff

Review 132:Standard room has two separate single beds, not very comfortable, and doesn't provide the option to a couple bed. It might be worth paying a little extra for the better room with the bigger balcany. We waited for 1,5 hour for the room exchange on saturday, until finally I went myself to the reception desk to get the keys and do the exchange myself, in order not to miss the rest of the morning waiting inside the room.

Review 133:Excelent restaurants (excelent breakfast and mexican food), great swimming pools and great facilities. Good location, beautiful and silent beach outfront. The sea was very agitated on the first day, wavy, but it was very calm on the remaining days. It looked like a swimming pool. I guess it depends on the tide. The rooms are big and clean. It's a good place to stay if you're looking for comfort but not expecting great luxury.

Review 134:Having to Change room after a week, having to pay for the gym and not being able to cancel the reservation on day 1 as place wasn't really for a young couple.

Review 135:The beach and the pools are kept clean and tidy

Review 136:Bath was clogged with a massive amount of hair, as if it had not been cleaned in months. Staff did little to resolve issue in a prompt manner.

Review 137:Nice Location

Review 138:All cocktails were weak, I witnessed several guests complaining about it to the bartenders so it wasn't just us who noticed. Also the property policy states no reserved beach chairs but the policy is not enforced by the staff. At 8:30 am we found most beach chairs with towels on chairs but no people show up until 12 or 12:30. Staff said they couldn't do anything about it. Why not?

Review 139:Overall a great value, professional, competent check-in desk, friendly attentive waitstaff, nice beach, beautiful pool. Only downside the cocktails were weak. Also the property policy states no reserved beach chairs & Palapas but this was not enforced by the staff. 8:30 am we found many beach chairs with towels on chairs but no people show up until 12 or 12:30. Staff said they couldn't do anything about it. Why not?

Review 140:I could not find 1 thing I did not like about this hotel. everything I needed including a small little grocerie store when we just wanted a light lunch or some snacks. WiFi was excellent, rooms more then I expected. We only stayed 2 nights on our way back to the airport but I will definitely keep this place in mind when needing to stay for longer period of time

Review 141:-

Review 142:Absolutely fantastic beach, great market in the hotel, very fast wifi, nice and clean swimming pools, great restaurants, local bus stop nearby-we went downtown few nights, it was easy to get out and get back to the hotel without spending a fortune on taxis (taxis very expensive over there...). Staff very friendly, nice atmosphere in the hotel, I would love to go back!!!

Review 143:Wifi failed a few times and then had to get the IT guy to come and fix, which then means paying a tip. On site store was over-priced. The Royal Islander didn't have kid's activities, as most guests looked to be in the retired bracket, but we went next door to the Royal Caribbean for kids stuff.

Review 144:Our maid cleaned the room meticulously, even washing the windows! The free shuttle bus to other Royal club properties was a bonus and helped in getting around. Restaurant food was excellent. Our room on ground level had easy access to the pool.
