Reviews for The Royal Caribbean - An All Suites Resort

Review 1:I loved the size of the room! We were only able to stay 1 1/2 nights because our daughter had paid for us to stay at another resort she was at and the other place was 3 x the cost! I definitely will stay at The Royal Carribean next time I come to Cancun!

Review 2:Staff at the reception is inconsistent in giving information (for sports, activities). Dedicated Sports and activities focal points are not always reachable so guests naturally turn to receptionists.

Review 3:- The use of a key card to do all purchase. It is such a relief not to have to carry cash or bank card around, especially when travelling alone! - The free shuttle between the resort hotels and selected restaurants (even though they're not the best restaurants. - Good sport and activities selection.

Review 4:The huge outdoor pool complex is the centre of this well-facilitated resort. Beach sunrises are a particular treat, pelicans fish in the mornings, the seas are rough which looks great (no good for swimming though).

Review 5:The concierge they assigned to us told us there was a gym in the hotel, but failed to inform us that to use the gym we had to pay $8US a day because we are not members (i.e. We do not have a timeshare). We had booked a session to learn about the timeshare, but then decided not to go because of the incident mentioned before. When I called the concierge's office to inform them about this, they failed to pass the message to our concierge who kept calling to know why we had not shown up to our meeting.

Review 6:The location is convenient and the beach is beautiful. Since we travel at the beginning of December there were not many people and it made our stay quite pleasant.

Review 7:They are well trained not to tell information out of their chains. Have a feeling to force us to give more than 15% tips. Be careful about deposit you paid, if you spent more than the deposit, they will let you pay more than one bill insteady of a final bill, which means we have to pay more credit card fees than usual 1 charge.

Review 8:Good location with view. Room size is perfect. They have enough entertainment for people to have a wonderful holiday.

Review 9:The steep price. We only could afford one night because it is just too costly to stay more nights for an avarage family.

Review 10:The large room and the pool area.

Review 11:The room change experience wasn't great. We were told that our new room would be ready at 11.30 and we would move then so we waited and nobody came to help us or give us new keys. We had to call to get someone to come. They could have set us up with more accurate expectations about what we had to do

Review 12:The rooms were big and clean with a huge balcony. Loved the view. Pool was nice and beach was great. Staff were helpful and friendly

Review 13:Hotel has everything - restaurant, supermarket, gift shop, 4 pools, car rental. Location is amazing!!! Buy seaview room:) loved the food and how clean was our room.

Review 14:1.the attitude of the staff in this hotel is absolutely horrible that we feel we are not welcomed 2. they didnt make our room !!! 3. the room smells really weird and dont even bother to mention the hygiene

Review 15:I was with a group and we wasn't in the same area. We was placed in different building. When we asked them to change it, it became a problem. The Resturant food was nasty. We never saw a scheduled of the daily activities.

Review 16:I loved our room

Review 17:Check in at 4pm is really late

Review 18:We got a good deal for one night and we really enjoyed the place. Room is big, beach is fantastic and the sea is incredible

Review 19:We absolutely love the Royal Resorts. But let me be clear. This is not a young hipster tend type chain hotel. It is a timeshare that rents out. So if you are looking for a party although a fun place for families - not for the party type of crowds.

Review 20:Just after check-in we purchased three excursions for about $500. Then we encountered a lot of problems with getting towels, buying in the minimarket etc.The reception clerk was not friendly, did not explain to us that the credit was only $200. Why actually the hotel limited our spending? The hotel can always charge the credit card.

Review 21:The rooms are comfort. Nice view on the sea shore.

Review 22:not much, the hotel is like a block of low-end flats around a pool. It may be called Royal Caribbean but there's nothing royal about the service. Expect to pay for all extras

Review 23:free wifi

Review 24:Most of the staff were sullen to the point of rudeness and showed no inclination to make the guest welcome. The food was expensive and indifferent.

Review 25:The location of the hotel and the quality of the room was good.

Review 26:Airconditioning is very loud and there is no way to set it. Every time it starts I woke up and tried to adjust temperatures. Nothing helped.

Review 27:Location. Beach. Snorkling gear. Affordible shops.

Review 28:Housekeeping staff appeared to push is out of our room prior to checkout time at 9am by sounding the bell twice and then coming in and checking our phone. Experience was strange and resulted in our family ie baby not getting his full rest

Review 29:Nice late suite room

Review 30:Facilities outdated, especially bathroom needs refurbishment. Room looked like from the 80's. It also was a little smelly in the room. All in all the hotel was ok, but nothing more.

Review 31:Good location, directly at the beach. Beach was really beautiful; free sunbeds at the beach + the pool. All the rooms are facing the ocean. Seaweed was removed occassionally, so no big topic.

Review 32:The structure could be better capitalised. During November is quite empty, "ebbed".

Review 33:The hotel directly swims in the ocean, great place to take pictures to the sunset/dawn and to admire the landscape.

Review 34:No Complaints

Review 35:This vacation had special meaning..1st being my son's 18th birthday and secondly being our 1st trip from the United States. We definitely loved our room view over the beach, the hotel staff was friendly, helpful and just a delight to encounter...Our stay was unbelievable!

Review 36:Booked for 3 people and thought we were getting either 2 double beds or a sofa bad but there was only a king bed and a couch that wasn't a sofa bed - made do because we were tired but not that happy

Review 37:Only there for one night. Rooms were good. Food in buffet was good - format a bit dated - don't really go to Mexico to eat an all Italian themed buffet but nicely done anyway

Review 38:The bathroom, it was outdated could have been a bit modernized and water pressure is too hard so when you are showering your floor is soaking wet.

Review 39:They have almost eveything on the property!

Review 40:They need a transportation for older people because the entrance is far from the street and with a huge hill at the entrance

Review 41:Everything was well organize and the employees were very diligent and dedicated. Great hotel

Review 42:A bit far from downtown Cancun. Food was bland and did not taste freshat Italian themed restaurant.

Review 43:Spacious one bedroom with queen plus two additional twin beds for a veryreasonable price. Well kept grounds. Access to sister hotel next door.

Review 44:you need top open a credit line at the front desk and use a card if you want to buy anything in the resort, cash or cards are not accepted anywhere but at the front desk.

Review 45:extensive free parking lot, access to the beach. Rooms are big and clean, relatively silent and well insulated. The bathtub is low rise and will let less mobile people shower without risks.

Review 46:Restaurant and caffee bar weren't price-worthy, max ☆☆.If you can afford do not choose all inclusive or half-board.There are some great restaurant in La Isla and the city center.

Review 47:Ocean view from the room.Clean,well-equipped room and other hotel area. Private strand with bar, towels, beach games.

Review 48:Incompetence of the staff. They don't allow you to pay with VISA , MasterCard for the accommodation! So you have pay in cash USD, not pesos! And that cash USD you have to get from their ATM which charges an additional 6.95% plus currency conversion rates that where worse then a normal money exchange. In total (after tax) we paid 17,6% more then what we should have paid for when booking through booking. Again already taking into account 19% tax In addition, there are not even able to give you a paper bill! I had to ask the manager for a bill and he promised me that I would receive it by email....which I never got of course.

Review 49:Proximity to the beach

Review 50:We had unexpected additional charges that weren't part of the original booking. When we showed our booking.com voucher, nothing mentioned these additional charges. Hotel insisted they were hotel policies. Kinda ruined the experience.

Review 51:I liked the room. They upgraded me to an ocean view room and the view was fantastic.

Review 52:The hotel is not well suited for working with a laptop - this was my main problem - it took the staff long time to bring a reasonable height table, otherwise - it is away from some places but there is good transportation and it is very nice that they have a grocery store in the hotel !

Review 53:I didnt like that we had to change the room and I don't think u were well organized, but at the end everything was ok.Also the food in the restaurant wasn't too fresh.

Review 54:I liked everything!! Staff, the pool, all the facilities. Great experience!!

Review 55:You can't buy something if you don't put deposit in front desk The prices is very expensive on the available activities in cancun

Review 56:The wifi good Cleaning, helpful stuff, service Average hotel not more then that

Review 57:The staff very friendly and willing to help with anything thing u might need Very thing at de hotel is excellent I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THIS HOTEL

Review 58:The restaurant is very expensive. It's an expensive hotel with 80's decoration. You waste time on your way to try to find the beach. Its' a big complex. The beach is not good for kids. The sea is deep & full of seaweed.

Review 59:The room was big & with sea view. The pool is nice.

Review 60:Staff were rude 98% of the time. Still wanted tips. Room didn't get cleaned until 4 everyday except for checkout day when she came knocking at 9am (checkout is 11). Gym costs $8 to use which is a rip off for what you get. Deactivated both room cards randomly Was located far from bar strip and most restaurants - will need a taxi.

Review 61:Nice pool area and rooms were pleasant. Would definitely look to stay somewhere else, most hotels offer the same amazing views and pool but provide better service with friendlier staff.

Review 62:Several people think is an all inclusive when is not.

Review 63:Nice pool, nice beach access. Good system they give you a credit card for you to pay things inside the hotel and then you pay when you check out. Good prices. You can even go to captain cove and pay with that credit card.

Review 64:The hotel does not have a jacuzzi.

Review 65:The cleanliness of the property and the staff was amazing!!! The on-site market for breakfast items and late night snacks.

Review 66:This hotel looks like a 1980's resort: old and out of fashion furniture. The lobby is absolutely ugly. Restaurants are not nice and if you do not have a car, you cannot go eat elsewhere by foot.

Review 67:Location is great Pool is nice Beach is beautiful View from the room

Review 68:There was a construction close to pool area. This type of constructions should be not more than one hour. There is no breakfast included but you can have it in the restaurant. However, quality was not good. I recommend to have something from the hotel market or just go outside to eat.

Review 69:Large, clean rooms. Has a beach and big pools. There is a market in the hotel. Easy to access to the center and market 28 by R1 and R2 busses.

Review 70:Nothing was a problem here.

Review 71:The view from our beach front suite is picture perfect. The staff is so helpful and accommodating. Everyone who works here tries to be sure that your vacationis a very happy time.

Review 72:We would've preferred an all inclusive option. We weren't aware of the daily activities in the hotel, we missed out...

Review 73:The staff was very helpful and polite. The Food in the restaurant was delicious.

Review 74:The price was excessive. In the reservation appeared 357 USD but in my credit card was charged 7,021.15 Mexican Pesos, which gives a rate of 19.67 pesos for 1 USD ... and the correct exchange rate was below 16 pesos for 1 USD ??? A robbery? Additionally, there was no bottle of water and no shampoo and other cleaning basic stuff in the room. For that price a lobster must be included!

Review 75:The swimming pool is big and kids area separated from grown people.

Review 76:We travelled with our 2 boys aged 11&13 the beds they had were terrible, very hard. Food was very costly.

Review 77:The beach was beautiful, for an older building very well kept. Staff very nice.

Review 78:Location is superb. The suites (and rooms) are larger than any we stayed in. The beds have superb mattresses and linens. Bathrooms have excellent water pressure. The pool is magnificent, and the beach is magical. We loved it!

Review 79:They were not helpful. We were two friends, & all they can give us was a king size bed because this is what we booked. So we had to sleep on the bed and the couch.

Review 80:The view from the room

Review 81:The seaweed on the beach

Review 82:The pools the proximity to the beach. ..the amenities along with the in house full supermarket! Oh and the staff were super helpful

Review 83:We were not happy moving rooms one to other as the room was exactly same as the first,

Review 84:Staff were helpful,Thomos more travel help us to airport transfers made easier,

Review 85:My family, staying at more expensive, all-inclusive resorts, was going to be charged 15 pp to visit me. While there were 4 adults and 1 child, as my suite would have been able to accomodate us, even the use of the lobby, would have been nice, if offered for no charge, I am not sure why there would have been a charge at all. This is not an all-inclusive resort where one would need a ridiculously expensive 'day pass' for family to gather and talk and make arrangements for activities for our stay. Nor was there 'free' food being offered, that would warrant such a fee. As a matter of fact, we were thinking about having a group dinner at our hotel since our hotel was open to the public, until this happened. It is unfortunate, and a loss to the hotel of 24 persons that would have eaten a meal.

Review 86:The pool was excellent and the property was very clean. The greenery was being watered and maintained constantly during our visit. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Review 87:-The fact that it's a 4 stars hotel and shampoo is not provided in the rooms; -Tiny bathrooms; -Old structure; -Swimming pool bar closes at 5:30pm and the volleyball net in the swimming pool is removed at 4:30pm; -Beach organisation (you need to look for your own ombrella and sunbed in a jungle of sunbeds with towels of other clients of children toys used to keep them booked from previous days); -No food and beverage in the minibar (you need to go to the hotel supermarket (which is pricy) to buy your own stuff; -Having paid €160 Euro a night for a double bedroom in such a fake 4 stars hotel from the '80s

Review 88:-The employees are kind; -They rent for free snorkelling as well as tennis and ping pong equipment

Review 89:Nothing is included in price...no breakfast. Rooms are older, drawers smell. Gym is extra cost. No ice bucket or the simplest thing as shampoo is included in the rooms. Beach has tons of seaweed.

Review 90:AC works well and the pools are not crowded.

Review 91:ehh.... no.

Review 92:I stayed in Royal Caribbean for 3 nights and it was awesome. The pool area was nicely designed and spacious, you will have no difficulties to find a perfect spot for yourselve. I have spent hours lying next to the pool / on the beach duirng my stay. They've got plenty of recreational activities too e.g. tennis / sailing / pingpong, etc - great for families. Spa / massage was outstanding too (though a bit pricy). My masseuse did an excellent job in alleviating my muscle pain & the ambience was relaxing! I have had dinner & lunch in their restaurant (tradewinds) - food and services are great! (better than Captain Cove) and visitors need not bother to travel to downtown for good restaurants

Review 93:Hotel is in desperate need of some updating. Staff doesn't answer phone. several times we tried to call and it just rang and rang.

Review 94:The size of the suites are great for families.... All rooms ocean view. Huge patio! Restaurant is not expensive and the small grocery store in the lobby is a great deal with lots of selection!

Review 95:Quite some administration to check in. It felt almost like a government service. :-)

Review 96:Everything except administration (for che-in and towels for instance)

Review 97:This is an old resort, if you really pay attention to details, this is not the place for you. If you need to use the gym, they will charge you extra. The breakfast costs extra, if you add everything together, you will be better off staying at an all inclusive resort. I have used the plates, glasses and the spoons in the room, the cleaning staff never picked them up. I had to call the reception in order for them to exchange for clean ones. The bathroom is really small and sink is not inside the bathroom, it has a weird set-up, the sink is out of the bathroom. Ladies, don't rely on the hair dryer provided by this place, bring your own. The furniture is old, once you open the drawers, you will notice that they smell old. I saw a cockroach next to the elevator. The elevator is really old! Probably from the early 90s. The bed sheets smell a little as well. When you start looking for a hotel/resort this place will catch your eyes because of its price, I would consider another place that charges 300 more dollars and get the benefits of an all inclusive.

Review 98:The breakfast is good, but it doesn't change much. The view from the rooms showing the ocean is really beautiful. Free parking. There is a car rental inside of the resort, a little convenience store as well. The bed is comfortable. Wifi works fine.

Review 99:Staff unfriendly and not helpful. Very bureaucratic and many, many rules for everything. They threaten you with fines for all sorts of things.

Review 100:The time-sharing type of resort makes it cheap - bring your own drinks to the beach, use the fridge in the room. Beachfront rooms are really close to the sea.

Review 101:Breakfast buffet for the price was not worth it. Coffee Cafe didn't open til 8am. Slippery, slippery, slippery pool decks!

Review 102:Location Beach w/service to your palapa Room size was great Clean property all the way around

Review 103:Didn't ever get the wi-fi. Had to pay to use the computer in the market to confirm airline reservations. The wi-fi was never fixed during our stay. Front desk service was slow. Not enough people working.

Review 104:No guest we allowed visitors. It was like we were in a college dorm withcurfews for guest after paying a fee. Our friends were staying atanother hotel and they were not able to even come upstairs withoutpaying. There is a older Hispanic lady at the front desk that wasextremely rude about the situation and seemed to only be friendly to ourone Hispanic friend that spoke spanish, but other staff was veryaccommodating including the manager.

Review 105:If you are a young group this is not the hotel for you. The resort isgorgeous and the staff is friendly but they do not allow visitorswithout you paying a fee per day and they have to leave by 11pm.Besides not being allowed visitors it is a quite family resort with abeautiful view.

Review 106:No hot tub, the beach has too much algee and the waves are too big. Not too much to do during the night inside the hotel, the breakfast was average.

Review 107:The bed for sure.

Review 108:The food at the resort restaurants is bland and over priced.

Review 109:The location is great. Easy to take the bus into town. The beach was clean and well patrolled. Our beach front room had a beautiful view. The staff were friendly and professional.

Review 110:The beach is a mile away from the rooms, lots of walking required for no reason. The key cards wouldn't work and we had to go back time and again to the front desk, wasting time.

Review 111:Nice beach.

Review 112:Check-in procedure took forever and although I was assured that we would get early check-in (I had called several days before to request this due to the long flights), we had to wait for 4-5 hours and were not told that check in was possible, leading to an even longer wait

Review 113:Extremely friendly and helpful staff, cleanliness of room, location, beach (although swimming was not possible due to the sea being too rough). A bit far away from El Corazon and Downtown (30min by bus), but excellent for relaxing on the beach. However, the bus runs every few minutes, 24/7

Review 114:We did not really enjoy the food at the onsite restaurant Tradewinds. Our kids summed it up best - the food at their college was better which is not saying much. The staff at the restaurant was very attentive and pleasant. We just felt the food was expensive, not really good quality and not worth the price.

Review 115:We had an oceanfront suite with an adjoining room for our 19 and 21 year old children. The view was breathtaking! The room was clean, spacious and the kitchen was well equipped. The on premise grocery store was well stocked and reasonably priced. We bought most of our food there. In the future I would bring two items - coffee filters and an insulated glass with a straw to bring to the beach. We will definitely return to this property.

Review 116:Front Desk staff were always helpful and great. However, waiters and bellboys were, almost all of them, explicitly bothering for tips all the time. Even always tipping them, once we forgot the extra tip money in the room, and even saying that we will bring it later, some for them were really gross with my family during the whole meal (tips in advance? really?).

Review 117:Rooms are clean, comfortable, with great wifi, and really big. Great breakfast (could be cheaper), nice pool, laundry room, grocery store and other shopping facilities were a plus plu plus.

Review 118:When i arrived to hotel for check in , the room was not available, so the receptionist manager arranged other room for me which is their same royal group hotel.but it is ok, i booked ocean view but actually it is part of ocean view, most view look at swiming pool. In hotel restaurant the foods is very expensive, Buffet breakfast cost $250 pesos. the things price same as in US. the room doesn't have any basic stuff such as shampoo & conditioner.

Review 119:The internet is perfect ! It is good location . I like walking to the beautiful beach and enjoy swiming poor garden. The room space is big and there are some kitchen stuff provided, like Microwave, small fridge...

Review 120:Reception staff not very helpful and seems somewhat not knowing what they doing.. Every day had to go back to reception 3-4times cuz our card didn't work.. Made us change rooms, the whole move was somewhat an ordeal, wasted about 3hrs on it.. New room wasn't fully cleaned till 7pm.. majority of the hotel facilities closed on Saturday..not much choice for food, vey pricey

Review 121:Room was fantastic! Stayed both in beach view and ocean view and both rooms were superb

Review 122:the architecture of this monstrous place is terrible: the resort is cyclopic, it takes ages to find your room or to find way to the reception and the beach; water was leaking from the ceiling in our room (air conditioner leakage!); no bathroom amenities what so ever, except a bar of soap, no complimentary water, no nothing! never stay at this place - it is simply terrible!

Review 123:ocean view

Review 124:everything very dirty hotel smelly dust every where towel dirty bedsheet smelly room not clean dust everywhere its very bad hotel dosent deserve one cent!

Review 125:nothing bad hotel

Review 126:On our return our lower floor suite overlooking the pool area was very disappointing in comparison and we think it well worth the extra for the ocean front .

Review 127:We booked 5 nights here as an introduction to the Yucatan. We were delighted with the ocean front suite. After touring the Peninsula by car we decided to return to the Royal Caribbean at the end of the holiday.

Review 128:The shuttles to the other resorts, the people making the lists, treated us like we were beneath them and couldn't care less if we got to the right location.

Review 129:Liked the location, the property, and the staff at the hotel. Loved the viewed.

Review 130:I didn't like how you could not bring back friends after hours. I would suggest to single members to fins a hotel that allows you to bring friends back to the resort.

Review 131:Location

Review 132:- Price was not abusive compared to other hotel, but not cheap also. - Wifi still so slow as most hotels in the country.... only good to check emails...

Review 133:- Large room, bathtube, ocean view. Very lovely and nice hotel. - Many reviews classified this hotel as old, but really not a problem, can barely see it. - Extremely convenient to access by hotel bus (R1 and R2), running every 2 minutes and deserving downtown, the ADO bus station, and the whole lagoon.

Review 134:The property is dated, but this is easily overlooked. We were told that this property will be sold in the next 3 years, due to laws in Mexico on owning coastal property. Hopefully it will stay awesome with a new owner.

Review 135:Almost everything about this place was great. The location makes it easy to venture out, but don't hesitate to try the restaurants next door at the Royal Islander. Fresh grouper tacos at Paco's Tacos are hard to beat.

Review 136:Beach... algae. But is understandable mother nature matter. But hotel members do they're best to keep it clean.thumbs up!! GUYS.

Review 137:All the Royal Caribbean pesonnel very helpful and efficient.they know how to make you feel like home.

Review 138:You have to wash your dishes if you use kitchen - maid don't do that. 1 working elevator across 3 buildings. Extremely long check in process. Have to change room on Sunday.

Review 139:little to tell about.

Review 140:Did a booking last min at 11pm and was at the hotel 20 min later. At the reception the staff was already waiting with my reservarion. 10/10 service.
