Review 1：Superb location, great view - the photo was taken from our room overlooking the historic port and the beautiful Romanesque Cattedrale di San Nicolo Pellegrino (a don't-miss visit). The hotel has an expansive roof terrace with views in all directions. Our room had a spacious bathroom with excellent shower and deep tub.

Review 2：We changed room as the first allocated was dark, although luxurious, and were very happy with Aliseo. Which had views of the back streets and lots of natural light.

Review 3：Lovely rooftop terrace for breakfast with great views of cathedral. A free minibar of water, soft drinks and snacks was a welcome gesture.

Review 4：Wifi was advertised as being available, but it was not working in our room for the two days we were there.. Also when we ask for toast we do not mean a toasted sandwich!!

Review 10：The Mare is in an excellent location - you're in the middle of everything with wonderful views of the port. Initially we were not happy with our room as there was not much natural light in the room- room itself was fab. We were shown two different rooms and ended up with a lovely bright room looking out onto the street- great to watch the world of Trani going by. The staff were very nice and helpful but not too in your face. Two great restaurants we came across - Ristorante Nord-Est and Osteria Platani, both very authentic and not touristy and very close- walking distance from hotel. I would definitely go back to Trani and Mare Hotel.

Review 11：It would have been a 10 score if the hotel had had a roof top swimming pool allowing you to both sunbathe and cool off However , this is not a complaint as we were aware that there was no pool when we booked

The staff were very attentive, thoughtful & helpful . Room was very comfortable ,well appointed spacious and a big bathroom . Review 14：We loved the calm, the exquisite service, the beautiful modern design of the rooms in an historical setting. The view on the harbour, the old city and the cathedral is just stunning especially at night time. We loved our stay!!!

Review 15：These are just niggles rather than complaints but should be considered when paying a premium for a 4 star hotel. The terrace is used on the weekends for private parties so if you were planning to enjoy the advertised view for drinks or to dine in you will have to make other plans. The parties seem to be well managed and don’t really impede your experience of the hotel. However, if you are a light sleeper or require early nights be aware that the party is taking place on the floor above your room and will go onto 2am (as this is the local bylaw for music). As a young couple we were also out till quite late so did not feel a need to complain but I can see how this might be an issue for others. The breakfast was adequate I was not dissatisfied but I was not impressed either; eggs, ham, cheese, yogurt, and milk were all supplied on request but with only one member on duty you had to have a degree of patience. I personally would have expected a greater degree of choice and service for the room price. The cleanliness of the room was satisfactory but not excellent. There was a considerable amount of dust around the room and toothpaste/soap marks were very visible around the bathroom and on dispensers. I was also a little disappointed that there was not a suitable well lit place to sit to do makeup and hair.

Review 16：The location was tremendous right on the harbour side in a beautiful historical family home. The conversion has been tastefully executed and the rooms were generously sized. The free mini bar was a nice gesture and needed as we stayed during a heat wave which was kept at bay by the good air conditioning throughout the hotel. The staff were friendly and attentive at all times including the rather over stretched house keeper. The view from the terrace was one of the highlights of our stay.

Review 19：Wifi was v intermittent. Breakfast was not good at all - bowls of whole fruit (not prepared) was about the sum total of it. There was a series of tortilla type things that were cold and too heavy for us for breakfast. We had to look for cutlery. It was disappointing as rest of the hotel was v nice.

Review 20：Lovely hotel in a lovely location. Old converted property done very well. Staff (we only saw two) were very friendly. Room very comfortable - spacious with nice view of port. Bathroom was lovely and nice touch to have a kettle in the room.

Review 21：Trani. The hotel has been beautifully designed and the pictures barely do it justice. The family that built the palace still occupies the first floor. Street is a pedestrian zone so it is hard to get to it. Have to coordinate with reception to allow you access to hotel. They also offer valet parking for 20 euro which we did. The rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast is served at the roof terrace with wonderful view of the pier, the cathedral and the Adriatic beyond. Prices are fair. I highly recommend it.

Review 24：Breakfast experience terrible. Staff were setting up for a weeding and dragging chairs around us. Breakfast was poor, slow and generally we felt we were unwelcome because they were doing other things. Breakfast still had an hour to run, not good enough I'm afraid.

Review 30：Running a party venue on the roof when the bedrooms are just underneath just does not work. There is a warning in the room bumph but they should either do parties or run a hotel- not both. Loud music and noises of furniture being moved did not even start till about 1am. This aspect is a shame. The town was pleasantly lively on the Saturday night in March but we would not want to stay at the hotel again if there was a nightclub/ party night on the roof. Limestone floors might be elegant but no bedside rug/ mat provided- too cold in March.

Review 31：Very helpful reception staff. Location is great on an elegant limestone square opening on to the harbour. Very rare to find in Italy- tea-making facilities in room. Fridge drinks were included in room rate- nice touch- small bottle of Prosecco very welcome as we had just arrived after flight in evening.

Review 59：This is a very beautiful building and is very clean. The hotel has wonderful views and Trani old town is very interesting. The receptionist was a really friendly man who spoke very good english and was very knowledgeable of the area.

Review 61：Beautifully situated on a square facing the harbour in an old palazzo. Beautiful room with vaulted ceiling and a nice bathroom with large walk-in shower ! Lovely roof terrace with a view on the harbour and the cathedral.

Review 62：We stayed in the Junior Suite with Sea View – however, the room is dark with only one small window; no daylight in the shower room. The worst thing is the management policy as such – all rooms are located on the same floor, and above them is a restaurant that gets booked for private parties. We checked in at 5pm after a long drive and the noise in our room was such that it was physically impossible to stay there – I regret not leaving immediately and looking for another hotel. Thus, we spent three hours walking around in the rain and when we returned the party had just ended. Needless to say, snotty reaction even from the receptionist! Apparently it is a general practice to charge for rooms that are not inhabitable for at least half a day – it completely ruined our start of vacation – never again!

Review 64：The roof terrace was not open to clients even though the weather was warm and clear. In the room slippers were supplied BUT not robes! The attached resteraunt while good food had a poor atmosphere and needs character. Parties at the hotel are noisy ! Parking needs to be explained to non Italian visitors. Beach towels need to be supplied for guests to use on the roof terrace to protect the furniture and be healthy for guests.

Review 66：Our sleeping room smelled of smoked cigarettes, the next offered room was full of mold fungus on the ceiling. The receptionist didnt want to pay back our reservation money, when we left this hotel without spending a night there.

The town itself is lively, people-watching is great value, and the old town is large enough to provide hours of exploring Many fine restaurants, cafes, and bars complete the picture. Trani makes a good point of departure for further travels and site-seeing in Puglia.

Review 73：Directions and street signs in Trani are not clear and it was hard to find the hotel. It's a wonderful place to stay for a few days, but the old town is just the harbour area and there's no need to stay much longer.

Review 74：Magnificent medieval building right on the harbour front. A delightful old town, with alleyways unchanged for centuries and a fine cathedral and restored castle. Good quality hotel. We knew nothing about Trani and it's a real delight.

Review 75：The worst thing about the suite was the poorly designed shower door: the cubicle was vast but the door had a hole for a handle and it did not have a seal to the wall. Consequently the floor got saturated every time we showered. Breakfast was hard to find and though it comes with a fantastic view from the roof terrace, it is not a very exciting or imaginative one.

Review 76：The receptionist on arrival spoke excellent English and was very informative about the hotel and the local beaches. We had been upgraded to a suite which was a delight. The room was very big, very clean with excellent airconditioning and sound proofed windows.

The Mare Resort owner is very lucky to have her. Sheworks extremely hard and wants the guests to have a wonderfulexperience. She recommended wonderful restaurants, including theresort's own restaurant that makes delicious food. All staff wasvery accommodating. Not only did we love Trani but we loved the MareResort. No hesitations in recommending it. Very clean. Wonderfulespresso machine in the room and mini bar was complimentary. Our room,called Levante, was special. It had a window seat facing the beautifulharbor. We did not want to leave.

Valeria at reception was so efficient and helpful with whatever we needed. The hotel room was superb - spacious, comfortable, clean and what a view of the harbour! The hotel is well situated and parking was provided by the hotel. I would highly recommend the Mare Resort to anyone who was visiting Trani.
