Reviews for Riad Khmisa

Review 1:Beware that getting there can be confusing as the medina is quite intricate and maps aren't 100% helpful. Yet, the owners offered to pick us up in the nearby Palace square – strongly recommended.

Review 2:Run by a young couple who are extremely kind and thoughtful. They are very familiar with the city and gave us nice tips and sight-seeing recommendations.

Review 3:We loved everything, but definitely have Mohamed or his wife (the owners) pick you up at the main square or pay a local (which is what we did) 5 dirhams to bring you. The medina is really a maze at first and my husband never got a hang of it (though I luckily did)!

Review 4:Beautiful, clean, and located not far from the Royal Palace, our stay at Riad Khmisa was absolutely incredible and perfect. When we come back to Tetouan in the future, we'll definitely come back here. Mohamed and his wife did everything to make our stay comfortable, even giving us a choice of rooms since it was low-season and we had initially booked the room on the first floor (which I could see as being noisy since breakfast is served right outside). Breakfast was the traditional Moroccan and quite delicious.

Review 5:Finding the accommodation is something between very hard and impossible. Normal in the medinas but reinforeced here as no sign at the door shows you have reach your destination. I assume that if we had called they would have picked us up like they did with other guests.

Review 6:Nice house, friendly staff, great location.

Review 7:The owners, a young couple, did their outmost to make you feel welcome and make sure that you know your way around their town. The riad is small, which makes you feel like you're in a very homely environment, rather than in a hotel. Highly recommended!

Review 8:There's no sign on the door so it could be a little bit hard to find.

Review 9:Lovely owners, decent breakfast, nice, clean and corfortable room. Would come back here any time!

Review 10:1st timei went to tetouan.and to morocco also.when i get to tetouan .i called hotel and they come to pick me up.very welcoming people.lovely place.open space riad.nice location.close to everything.outside tocal shop.friendlly people.you in heart of Madina.easy exese to everywhere. I will go back to same hotel and this time with my wife and kids

Review 11:Nothing!

Review 12:Very friendly and helpful staff; original and authentic Riad; great location in a great city. Can certainly recommend this Riad for a stay in Tetouan.

Review 13:The Medina itself was like a maze and parts of it were very dirty but again, the owners were very kind and showed us where was good to go and gave us a printed out map to assist us getting around

Review 14:the owners were amazing and made us feel really welcome and gave us lots of information that made our trip so much easier and more enjoyable, they got us involved in activities that we would not of thought of doing

Review 15:Our room on the ground floor was poorly isolated so we could hear other guests passing in the hallway at night as if they were in our room => total lack of privacy. Dusty room (spent the night sneezing). Staff is friendly but they don't communicate with each other: we didn't get our breakfast at the time we asked for. 9.1 seems clearly overrated.

Review 16:Stunning building. Staff met us at the main square and took us to the Riad.

Review 17:The couple that run the hotel were very friendly and helpful. After checking out and waiting an hour for the taxi to arrive they even provided us with a free lunch which was a seafood plate with two delicious fish. That was above the call of duty.

Review 18:Wifi in my room was weak

Review 19:Mohammed was an excellent host and took us on a quick tour of the neighborhood and told us some of the history of the city and of the riad. Highly recommend. Great value.

Review 20:Stayed in 2 rooms. First (unnumbered) was opposite the entrance of aplace where men were loudly socializing inside and in the lane until 11.Laying on the mattress made a gully. Towels were industrial grade.Entrance to room was stairs that one had to treat as a ladder.Second room (#4) had a 5'8" high door to bathroom. A water heater, obviously shared among rooms cycled on and off. During warm months this room would be warm for 2 reasons: the bathroom wall receives direct sunlight and the HIGH ceiling means the AC would struggle. The listing said English was spoken, but I had to rely on my limited Spanish.

Review 21:Location was between mostly commercial and mostly residential medinaareas. Taxis easy to get after exiting the medina. Short ride to ctmbus station.

Review 22:Staying in Rhiad Kmisa is like staying with friends. The Riad is a small traditional house run by a very welcoming and attentive young couple that gave me a good flavour of local life and the medina. I would definately visit again.

Review 23:We stayed two nights and the room was not cleaned after the first night. The owner insisted for us to pay everything in advance.

Review 24:The riad is placed in an ancient building which is nicely restaured. Very good location.

Review 25:I didn't like that we had to leave :)

Review 26:Can't recommend this Riad and the city of Tetouan enough! Mohammed and his wife provide amazing hospitality and very personalised service. It's a meticulously restored riad in the centre of one of the most interesting medinas in Morocco. Away from being spoiled by mass tourism it's a place where you can immerse yourself in the truly local ambience. Mohammed has a great knowledge about the medina and the city and he is always happy and proud to share it. Nitty-gritty facts: rooms are spacious and lovely decorated, beds are comfy, bathroom is spotless with hot water all the time, strong and good wifi throughout :)

Review 27:The Hotel in general is really nice but the thing I appreciated most was the kindness of Mohammad for giving us a lot of reccomendations, tips, help, informations (also about the islamic culture)!

Review 28:Better to call when u arrived to Tetuan and owner or his helper will meet u in medina and will reach u till hotel. Not easyif u first timein Tetuan orientation in medina, map not will help.
