Reviews for Mareta Beach - Boutique Bed & Breakfast
Review 1:One morning was really noisy because of the construction (or repair) site nearby, but I guess that is a temporary thing. Another small disadvantage is a very weak (in fact, almost absent) WiFi signal on the second floor. Of course you don't come there to surf the web, but sometimes it may be necessary.
Review 2:Very nice location, very friendly and helpful staff, rooms are pretty and clean.
Review 3:Very poor service in restaurant at lunch time-one hour wait for pizza! poor value -food over priced.
Review 4:Excellent location. Booked room with sea view which was superb -would strongly recommend booking one of these rooms.Good breakfast.Helpful, friendly staff at reception.
Review 5:Initial check in man was rude although our other experiences with staff were excellent.
Review 6:This is a beautiful place at reasonable prices (in the off season anyhow). Room was very spacious. Well located in the middle of town and just up the road from the beach. Clean and decent breakfast.
Review 7:grumpy man on the reception when we arrived in the poring rain. No polite greeting, just barked at us,"passports". Breakfast was served in a basement caller, no windows and poor variety.
Review 8:Cleanliness and the location
Review 9:The breakfast room is in an underground, unattractive room with no natural light.
Review 10:Room had a bath and a sunny terrace (although not many rooms had this). Good breakfast.
Review 11:Nothing !
Review 12:Central location. Room and bathroom were great size , bright and clean. Bed very comfortable. Staff in reception were very friendly and gave lots of information. Breakfast was good and lots of choice. Staff lovely there too. Lots of parking. Will definately be back. Quiet and relaxing.
Review 13:Not very good for parking. Summer must be a nightmare when many people are visiting.
Review 14:Location and very friendly staff. Nice coffee shop and bar though they couldn't provide limes for our capirinhas.
Review 15:One guy at reception was not really service-minded, we did not feel ourself welcomed from the very first to the very last moment. Others were, probably, OK.
Review 16:Proximity to beaches, a great restaurant (Italian) around the corner.
Review 17:The door to the lobby was locked after an early morning run so I had to wait for someone to return before I was able to get in
Review 18:Being able to walk and/or bike to everywhere we wanted to go
Review 19:A little loud in the evening with a busy Italian restaurant on site.
Review 20:Simple clean rooms with striking views of coast. Great location in Sagres town with many restaurants close by.
Review 21:We loved this hotel from the moment we arrived ,so much so that we extended our stay from one night to a week. It is well situated for both the beach and various good restaurants. The hotel itself is simply but well furnished with airy rooms , everything spotlessly clean. We slept extremely well.
Review 22:Unfriendly welcome, night times were noisy as we could hear people slamming doors in the corridors.
Review 23:Huge beds, clean spacious rooms, proximity to beach and restaurants.
Review 24:Leaving!!
Review 25:Perfectly located adjacent to Mareta Beach, with partial views from our spacious terrace, I fell in love with the hotel the moment I saw their beautiful decor in the lobby! Perfect combination of shabby chic with modern touches and a consistent turquoise / sea blue theme, with inspirational signs posted throughout the hotel. The breakfast was a delightful spread of continental options (I'm not a fan of cooked breakfasts so I didn't even notice the absence of bacon & eggs!). I did love the nespresso machine, and the choice of fresh cakes and fruit! The facilities at the next door Mareta View are available and I thoroughly recommend making use of this - a sunken hot tub with sea glimpses, in a tropical garden setting, topped off by the magical little pagoda that looks out to sea; I could have stayed there for days, if not weeks! The staff were very friendly and welcoming too!
Review 26:Beds weren't the most comfortable, but not so much that we couldn't get to sleep (or were prevented from sleeping in many a morning). Dimly lit baths. Wish the wind didn't cause doors to slam shut but mostly minor details on what was overall a spectacular stay.
Review 27:Location is PERFECT. Walking distance to landmarks like the fort, the fishing harbor, several beaches, both main drags in town. Be sure to make use of Mareta View's grounds — nothing better than bringing out a bottle of vinho verde to the gazebo or lawn chairs in the late afternoon, or having a soak after the beach or exploring Sagres. Staff are lovely and helpful.
Review 28:The room is above a restaurant, noisy at night. Fissures in the bathroom broken, towels slightly stained. All in all not terrible, just much too overpriced - what you get really does not justify what you pay.
Review 29:The room itself was nice, clean and nice bed.
Review 30:Location was fantastic, right on the slip down to the beach and very close to bars and restaurants! Staff were friendly and the rooms were beautifully clean and comfortable! Breakfast buffet contained all the expected items and all were really good quality.
Review 31:No,only thing after 7 days the breakfast got a little boring, nespresso coffee on the buffet was great though
Review 32:Lovely location, very friendly helpful staff, great to have a good coffee shop and above all the cleanliness of the hotel was superb
Review 33:Nothing really disturbed me. Just the door that made some noise because of the strong wind (and having the window open at night).
Review 34:Everything in and around the hotel was very comfortable which made my stay very relaxt: exactly the reason I came for!
Review 35:Lovely bathroom but too dark.
Review 36:Lovely position top of Mareta beach. Loved the white/aqua colours in the hotel. Good cafe downstairs and excellent Italian restaurant.
Review 37:The breakfast room is on the -1 floor, and kind of dark. With all the effort put in the rest of the hotel, it looks like this was "forgotten" and had to be added in the end.
Review 38:Overall look of the hotel, everything is clean, new and looks nice. The location over Mareta beach is very nice, and having a café and a pizza place below the hotel is definitely a plus after a day at the beach. The bed is very confortable.
Take the balcony room with fantastic view on the sea, sleeping with sea view...priceless
Review 40:SMall rooms. (we were in the beach whole time anyway and the cleanliness made up for the small size)
Review 41:Value for the money. CLEANLINESS!! Location. Service was friendly. Breakfast was adequate. Pizzeria downstairs was delicious.
Review 42:We enjoyed our stay in this nice hotel. It was very clean and nicely decorated. The location is very convenient to attractions in the area. We also really enjoyed it the Italian restaurant next door.
Review 43:The bathroom is so nice and big however it lacks some hangers where to put the towels or swim suits to dry. Our room was 209 and we had no balcony so the possibilty to dry clothes was rather limited
Review 44:Location, people, size of the bed, furniture
Review 45:Nothing to note here!
Review 46:The rooms are attractive, modern and incredibly clean; staff is friendly; good breakfast selection - excellent value for money. We hugely enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it to others. We also had a hire car - parking was no problem. This was a great, central place to explore the surrounding sites and beaches from.
Review 47:not a good welcome from male receptionist. So not a good start. Kind of put us off after a long journey. Reminded us of faulty towers!!!
Review 48:bed was comfortable. Great location. Very clean and breakfast staff friendly and helpful.
Review 49:The breakfast could be a little more inspiring and tended to.
Review 50:The location of the hotel is perfect for those wanting to be near the small centre of Sagres and the main beach. We paid for the balcony view room and thought our view was wonderful.
Review 51:The noise and light comes from on under the entrance door and windows The TV in the room is to high should be 90 lower than it is now The pillow is to hard and give pain neck
Review 52:Environment and surrounding area / nice view from second floor The room with bath tub The staff with hospitality Good breakfast
Review 53:great location just a few steps from the beach. big comfy room with partial see view. very clean. Nespresso machine for good quality coffee in the morning.
Review 54:Wifi is a disaster on the 2nd floor, but who needs one in Sagres anyway? Note to hotel owner: you can just install a signal magnifier and the wifi will work perfectly, instead of simply saying that ''the wifi is weak''. just fix it :)
Review 55:Our room was probably the best one of the whole B&B. We had room 2.7, which has a balcony looking over the beach. Make sure to book that room, the other rooms look to the street. Besides the view, the place is great, staff is friendly, breakfast is just fine (no scrambled eggs, hot sausages, beans etc etc, but nice bread and other things and so we think it was really enough). Many local bars and places to eat at easy walking distance + voucher for a discount at the pizzeria downstairs (yummy place too). Highly recommended!
Review 56:It was in a nice position but because of the wind it was too noisy at night.
Review 57:The room was spacious and very clean with a big and comfortable bed. The breakfast was rich and delicious. The staff very kind and helpful
Review 58:Very, very, very poor breakfast. Half of toast with ham and cheese, coffee, - I would not advise future guests to expect for real breakfast, - you will have it elsewhere.
Review 59:Good interior, from the balcony you can see the sea and cliffs. Friendly staff, all very quickly. Free parking directly outside the hotel rooms. Good wi-fi. The hotel is located very close to the beach - go down to it for five minutes on foot. There are plenty of bars and restaurants (although only a few work in the winter), a few hundred meters - there are food shops.
Review 60:The person at reception on our arrival day was not friendly nor very communicative. He forgot to tell us the breakfast was being served at the coffee shop of the hotel where was possible to order it from the menu.
Review 61:The location is excellent. We stayed in a room with lovely ocean views. It was clean. Very good value for money (we went in winter time). A female receptionist we met on our check out was very nice and accommodating.
Review 62:The front desk was poorly staffed. There often was only one "manager" who I think also had some duties at the adjacent restaurant? He was often away from the desk causing frequent waits and some confusion for hotel guests.
Review 63:We loved being able to walk to the beach and watch the surfers. It was a very short drive to the southwestern tip of Portugal and the beautiful cliff views. We had an excellent dinner across the street from the hotel. We had an ocean view window, but would have preferred a terrace. There was free street parking, and no problem finding a space.
Review 64:Front desk guy wasn't always available, but it was pretty quiet in October so even that was understandable.
Review 65:It was so worry-free. Everything was awesome: staff, room, cleanliness, breakfast, value, location, comfort... I could go on. It was very easy to book a second night on a whim (we just left a note at the front desk on our was to dinner), and even got to keep our original room. Literally steps from the main beach in Sagres. Free parking on street.
Review 66:Room was a little small, though it was bright and airy and the bed was perfectly comfortable there was nowhere else to sit. Unfortunatley the lighting in the bathroom was a bit low and could do with being a little brighter.
Review 67:Excellent location, close to walk to mareta beach and to other parts of the town. Excellent choice for breakfast. Well located close by parking. Friendly and helpful staff
Review 68:The room was comfortable, clean and even had easy access for wheel chair if you needed it. Good breakfast and even a discount on the adjoining pizza restaurant and coffee shops. Great location.
Review 69:No hairdryer in room but can get from desk, nowhere to sit out in sun but can go down to sister hotel within few minutes walk and sit out in beautiful grounds overlooking sea view.
Review 70:Liked our room, good views, staff really friendly and helpful, good internet, very clean and bright, had very good stay and recommend it highly, is so centrally located to get easily everywhere.
Review 71:The beds were as they typically are, pushed together and the cleaners used a very strong bleach so the room smelt for a little while each day, opening the window/ door fixed that though. The toilet also had an odd gap at the front which was pretty silly, nothing bad enough not to return though.
Review 72:Location was awesome, place was nice, breakfast was good, all seemed pretty good, well fitted out and a good size place.
Review 73:We are a family with 3 teenagers and this hotel was perfect for them. It is close to the beach, good food and a variety of activities. The breakfast buffet was surprisingly good and the jacuzzi & outdoor area was nice to be able to have some privacy.
Review 74:The hotel bedroom are not very well equipped for organizing your stuff and putting away your suitcases The corridors are quite noisy and you hear everything in your bedroom like people banging the doors because of the strong wind of loudly talking I on the corridors
Review 75:Design of the hotel Position (200m from the Mareta Beach) Very friendly staff full of good advise both for restaurants and beaches Good breakfast
Review 76:..... Nightclub not far away was at times quite noisy especially during early hours .... Although we did keep our windows wide open at night rather than use air con.
Review 77:Relaxed .... Lots of great restaurants nearby. The breakfast was wonderful, this area is a great place to do nothing but chill ..... Good value & I'm a fussy 5*star high maintenance girl!
Review 78:The staff were so helpful and kind and we thougt the rooms were perfect. The breakfast was great , especially the coconut topped scones! we had a lovely stay.
Review 79:There wasn't anything to dislike. Nothing significant stands out. Room was spotless and staff friendly. Breakfast was great!
Review 80:Clean, spacious, great location, priceless view.
Review 81:We don't have fan in the room :) it was inconvenient sometime, but you have strong wind and sun ;) enjoy it.
Review 82:Very friendly staff, the room is full of light. The towels were changed every day, the cleaning was perfect. Good location, very beautiful outside. Very closer to the all fortress and cape. Available for the renting bicycle, the price is low and they gave you free backpack. It was wonderful time to staying in Sagres !!!!!!!! The cafe on the first flow has hot chocolate, that is very tasty. I love Sagres and Mareta beach
Review 83:The breakfast is good, but maybe some things are missing, like crumbled eggs. There wasn't hair drier in the room.
Review 84:Really clean, everything is perfect and seems like new. Beautiful decoration and comfortable bed. Good location, just a few steps from the beach and close to good restaurants.
Review 85:weak wifi, breakfast room downstairs without windows although the have their own cafe next door
Review 86:location, near to restaurants, bars and the beach, nice cafe with gd food next door
Review 87:The view was excellent, the location was easy, and the breakfast was on point. The room was minimalist but spacious and we had everything we really needed.
Review 88:The breakfast room is downstairs in the basement with no windows or sunlight. It would be nice to be able to sit outside or at least somewhere that's brighter for breakfast.
Review 89:The decor and location of this hotel is perfect. The bed is comfortable, the bathrooms large (with a little window that looks out to the sea if you're in a sea-facing room) and there's a lovely little sitting area that seems as if you're sitting in a bird cage! The breakfast selection is terrific. And the location itself, close to Mareta Beach and near the roads to Beliche, are great.
Review 90:Nothing
Review 91:New, modern yet pleasing design - a true boutique hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Short walk to the excellent beach. Good breakfast choice, unlimited quantity and perfect quality. Good food and bar choices in hotel; within 100 metres, and around town. Perfect free wifi.
Review 92:Nothing I can think of!
Review 93:Excellent location right by Mareta Beach, bright, airy and modern design, clean and comfortable rooms, good value breakfast included, free wifi.
Review 94:Its brilliantly located right in Sagres and next to Mareta beach. The breakfast buffet offers a great variety of food and a nespresso machine can be used free of charge.
Review 95:We had some difficulty to find the hotel as the name is written is silver letters on white wall, but maybe that was just us. We generally liked the hotel but can't help the feeling it was a bit overpriced for a hotel of this category.
Review 96:Very stylish hotel, nice spacious rooms, decorated with taste. Great location - both restaurants and the beach are close. Staff nice, polite. Excellent breakfast - great choice and the coffee is indeed exceptional!
