Reviews for Hotel Villa e Palazzo Aminta
Review 1:We loved everything about this hotel. The staff, rooms, food were all excellent. We stayed in room 301. It had everything we could possibly need and had a lovely partial view of Lake Maggiore.
Review 2:rooms with a lake view are located on the roadside which gets very busy sometines
Review 3:view on Borromea islands very welcoming and helpful staff very good restaurant
Review 4:The room had a horrible musty smell, the bathroom was too small for a 5 star hotel. The furniture was not comfortable. The lounge area was confining and not cordial. We paid much too much for this Hotel. We have been at better 4 star hotels
Review 5:Breakfast.
Review 6:Hotel car couldn't pick us up from Stresa town centre after we had eaten one evening. There was apparently a shortage of staff. Could have been resolved with better and earlier communication of the problem. However staff were very apologetic and the manager sent a bottle of Prosecco with an apology to our room.
Review 7:Level of service apart from 1 small problem. Very relaxing. Good food. Own boat.
Review 8:Only slight grump was that I found my bed was a little to firm, but small change compared to all the A+s during our stay.
Review 9:The hotel is superb in many ways, brilliant staff ,fantastic location, all you can ever require for breakfast, super rooms especially those with lake views. Although the hotel is outside the main town by about a mile the walk mostly along the lakeside is fine, however a small stretch of this distance is along the road with a narrow footpath,we did not have a problem with this at all.For those that do not wish to walk there is a free courtesy car from the hotel to town commences at 09.30 and also returns you to the hotel until 18.30,before or after these hours the service is always available for a reasonable charge.Would highly recommend Villa E Palazzo Aminta to all age groups.
Review 10:a dog was allowed intomthe hotel not guide dog etc and was allowed in the breakfast room
Review 11:very luxurious in a fab location Excellent service and room comfort We had a lovely lakeside balcony
Review 12:Didn't replace the complimentary bottle of water after the first night. Not an easy walk to Stresa as some stretches of road didn't have a foot path, in any case it is quite a long walk.
Review 13:Reasonable choice of food which was very good. Staff very friendly and efficient.
Review 14:Limited number of rooms with lake view and they usually larger than the other rooms wth partial lake view on the car parking side.
Review 15:Great location and nice place where simplicity and luxury are met.
Review 16:Slightly out of town - a very long walk or drive.
Review 17:beautiful hotel directly overlooking the Borromean Islands. Lovely room with perfect bed. Friendly and efficient staff.
Review 18:Boring. Smells from the kitchen every morning in the rooms with garden view, and very noisy in the rooms with lake view because of the road right in front of your windows. One small elevator (just ONE both for guests and all the services). No walking territory. Food is tasteless (and similar in "as if" two restaurants).
Review 19:rather good swimming pool
Review 20:the triple room...was not triple . was a double and a sofa crowded in an attic. my husband had broke his head in shower and the sink smelled bad, 2 km to the center on a road without sidewalks portions
Review 21:splendid view, splendid service and atmosphere in the restaurant so was a nice dinner even if the food had no taste, polite personal
Review 22:the hotel was further out of Stresa than I expected and the walk into town involves a main road. The courtesy car stops running at 6.00pm which I thought was too early !
Review 23:Excellent facilities and remarkable cleanliness and overall standards
Review 24:Air conditioning was a not great and the bed but the good the people the view i would definitely return and tecommend the hotel.
Review 25:Really the perfect spot to stay in stressa. Intimate yet elegant. Very romantic!
Review 26:Parking lot near the entrance is tight.
Review 27:The staff at breakfast were extremely attentive, pleasant and hard working. The food choices excellent. A great way to start off the day. The hotel is beautifully appointed.
Review 28:Insufficient storage in room i.e. not enough drawers and cupboard space No bedside storage Very poor bed
Review 29:Unique situation, wonderful decor, excellent service
Review 30:Just was a little out from the main town centre.
Review 31:The location was beautiful. The staff outstanding and the hotel was simply amazing. Would recommend and return!
Review 32:This is a little difficult to get to if you don't have a car. we came in by train which is fine and taxi was no problem.
Review 33:Not much needs to be said. This is a Leading Hotels of the World property. The view of the lake is spectacular and the restaurants and food amongst the best in Italy. Management always on hand inquiring as to satisfaction. Language no barrier. Excellent staff in restaurants particularly Alessandro.
Review 34:Food at the restaurant in the hotel was not as good as one could have expected, save for the le Parmeggiano with 25 year old balsamico - Worth the try ! Excellent wine too.
Review 35:Staff was really friendly. Style is rococo - gold everywhere, but nice!
Review 36:The staff was exceptional here. Marco our waiting at dinner was a pleasure. The meal in the il Mare restaurant at the hotel was beyond delicious. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we have experienced.
Review 37:We have stayed at Villa Aminta several times and it never dissapoints. Elegance, comfort, quiet surroundings and location to explore make the Villa Aminta a nice vacation destination.
Review 38:Nothing!
Review 39:The Hotel Villa e Piazza Aminta lives up to its Five Star rating! The place was gorgeous, and had breathtaking views of Lake Maggiore and the surrounding mountains! All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there! Richard, Linda, & Roberta DiZinno
Review 40:They charged us two nights accommodation even tho we contacted them on the morning of our arrival to tell them I had been admitted to hospital in switzerland for an emergency appendics operation
Review 41:Didn't get to stay here
Review 42:You need to be aware that the hotel is separated from the lake and part of its garden by the busy road around the lake.
Review 43:The hotel is a very high class hotel and the price reflects that
Review 44:The service was practically non existent. On arrival there was nobody to meet us. The taxi driver was so embarrassed he carried the bags up the stairs for us. Throughout our stay there was either nobody at reception or a queue of people, often complaining. The location is hopeless. There is no footpath in either direction so you take your life into your hands walking into Stressa. They offer a complementary car service but on a fixed schedule which only operates between 10am and 6pm. Outside of these time they charge 12 euro each way. When you order the car it is not always on time or available and the local taxi service is impossible. The food is grossly over priced for the quality and the English menu is not accurate. The staff are arrogant and generally unhelpful. Their information about train schedules and tours appears to be out of date. My wife and I expected much more from such a highly rated and expensive hotel.
Review 45:We had a lovely room overlooking lake with a very big balcony. The eating areas are well positioned with nice views of the lake and pool. Amenities looked wonderful although we didn't make use of the spa.
Review 46:Bed was horrendously uncomfortable had to have extra pillows to put on top of the mattress - not ideal when you're staying for a week. It's also nowhere near the town centre, thankfully we had a car as the complementary bus service times weren't great, finishing the last trip in at 6pm.
Review 47:The view is outstanding and pool area spotless.
Review 48:Distance from town and availability of other nearby restaurants.
Review 49:Breakfast was replete with many and varied items. Food in both restaurants delicious. Beautiful lake views.
Review 50:Initially our room wasn't to our liking, no privacy on the terrace and no cover outside
Review 51:We upgraded our room at a discount (all things are relative) the hotel organised everything with no fuss and we had a nice bottle of Prosecco chilled and waiting for us. The room and view were great. Hotel is well positioned for boat trips, the islands and visits to town and just sitting by the pool we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Review 52:Small rooms! We booked a room for three adults and a baby and got a small double room with crib and extra bed (size was more like kids bed). It was extremely crowded - I dont like that such a small room is marketed for so many persons.
Review 53:Beautiful property, amazing views and lovely breakfast
Review 54:On the edge of town so courtesy car could be a little more frequent and stop later in the evening.
Review 55:Food amazing, staff friendly and helpful and facilities excellent.
Review 56:Poor sporadic shuttle bus service to town, can walk during the day, though at night not recommended so have to pay for shuttle Rooms only cleaned at 16.30 every day hence when you want to relax a little you can't Room was not part of the main hotel but a separate building so away from hotel, also room so small (1002) you could not open the mini bar fridge fully as it hit the bed. Though it had a terrace with the room and wonderful view, there was no privacy as in front was where people walked to access their rooms Noise from people in rooms next door loud in that you could hear people in the toilet and talking through the walls Pool is right by the main road and so all day there is the constant traffic sound
Review 57:Staff in restaurant were genuinely excellent, whereas reception more fake Excellent breakfast buffet with beautiful views Main restaurant, though over priced the meal was superb, but ate and drank just as well for 1/4 of price in an excellent restaurant down town
Review 58:Very limited facilities for children. In addition, the triple rooms were very cramped. That said, the hotel did recognise this and provided us with a discount.
Review 59:Excellent service, particularly the chambermaids and the staff at breakfast.
Review 60:No hot water one morning. Not the Hotel's fault and quickly fixed. Angela Bailey
Review 61:Room and balcony. Bathroom small but beautiful and clean. Breakfast fantastic.Fruit galore. Staff will cook anything you want. Courtesy car to town great. But mainly, staff very attentive, willing and follow everything talked about up.
Review 62:One of the reception staff was a bit 'cool' - think she very important, but the others were obliging. There was an electrical storm that rendered the wifi useless. It was not fixed in the time we were there since the storm - 2 days. Very annoying. The room with a view and balcony was as described, but parts were getting tired - door jamb of our room was loose and needed serious maintenance. Some of the skirtings were knocked around.
Review 63:position, style, breakfast!!!!, pool, views, waiting staff - particularly Alberto! Beautiful stay in a beautiful part of the world. Probably not as good as Villa D'Este on Lago Como, but very, very good!
Review 64:The fact that i was not offered a discount from one of the "leading hotels of the world" i was given a fan ! that did not work ! then given a second fan that did not work! poor service
Review 65:Liked the staff
Review 66:The location is superb and the Hotel Terrace a delight. The staff are both professional and friendly. They are always ready to help. The interior design and choice of furnishings gives the whole building an air od grandeur,
Review 67:I Mori restaurant : Fussy food, looks good but taste disappointing. I was ill after eating chicken Ficarius.
Review 68:Almost everything, Very good SPA and services.
Review 69:Quite expensive, very small rooms. Far from center and attractions. Limited breakfast buffet options
Review 70:A beuatiful cosy little hotel with very nice view. Helpful freindy staff.
Review 71:Lake view incredible
Review 72:The room is too cold. The bathroom is too small.
Review 73:Location. Stunning View from d restaurant
Review 74:Small room, lack of storage
Review 75:Balcony, view, terrace, breakfast, architecture/design
Review 76:Beautiful hotel and setting
Review 77:Wi-Fi poor , very slow, not working well
Review 78:Staff, setting, food, magnificent view
Review 79:A bit away from town center
Review 80:Feel good factor!
Review 81:a very nice welcome from all staff who were pleased to show us all the facilities etc. Location excellent with beautiful views of the islands
Review 82:The restaurant was one of the best we have ever eaten in
Review 83:Matress was a bit hard
Review 84:Great hotel, loved it.
Review 85:Everything
Review 86:Overpriced Restaurant and small portions. Spa closes at 7pm
Review 87:Location, pool
Review 88:None...
Review 89:The friendly staff. The beautiful view of the lake from our room. Great breakfast buffet. Loved the Grotto!
Review 90:Small room.
Review 91:Property in general.
Review 92:None
Review 93:The location of the Hotel overlooking the Lake Maggiore
Review 94:Outgoing wifi very slow or unable to send - not great if significant work to do.
Review 95:Incredibly romantic property with the most stunning lake side views.
Review 96:Location , style , amenities and hospitality .
Review 97:A bit pricey
Review 98:Fantastic service, location, beautiful property, very friendly owner, breakfast buffet was excellent
Review 99:No negatives.
Review 100:We enjoyed everything!
Review 101:Hotel dining is very expensive and the hotel is far out of Stresa so you are trapped
Review 102:Staff were very good
Review 103:Wifi very slow
Review 104:Everything is amazing there. Best dinner is at verbano on the island pescatore.
Review 105:Fantastic!
Review 106:Restaurant Room design Age do other guests
Review 107:Location Staff Furnishings
Review 108:the bed in 319 very hard
Review 109:great hotel fabulous location staff excellent
Review 110:A fantastic hotel, first class staff, food , location and facilities.
Review 111:Concierge, staff in reception poor with one person exception.
Review 112:View to the lake excellent. Internal design, spa. Great staff in restorant.
Review 113:Beautiful lakeside situation
Review 114:the bath rom
Review 115:Service at breakfast was poor. Waiter was asked three times for fresh orange juice and four times for milk with the coffee before they were provided, but only asked twice for teaspoons.
Review 116:Staff were courteous and helpful.
Review 117:Wedding function took over whole hotel.....Russian and noisy!no place for normal guests.12 June ...no pool attendant, no drinks service at pool. Not a leadin hotel of the world during our 2 day stay in a suite. Won,t return .
Review 118:Very poor meal on Saturday. We complained and the staff agreed but no recompense was offered. Hotel taxi into local towns is an outrgageous price. The park view room was part park and part cleaning storage!!!
Review 119:Location, terrace and overall feel of the hotel and most of the staff were attentive
Review 120:The hotel is just beautiful and the staff so attentive, the food amazing, including the breakfast! We had a fantastic stay and would recommend anyone to go! We would defiantly return!
Review 121:Room somewhat small and air conditioning a little noisy.
Review 122:Stunning location, friendly ,helpful staff, good breakfasts, modern spa, the fabulous furnishings throughout hotel and large bathroom with jacuzzi bath.
Review 123:Nothing.
Review 124:It doesn't get much better than this. Breakfast is silver service. Staff very friendly and attentive to detail. If you wanted a hotel in your 'must see' list - this is it. Back in the near future.
Review 125:The room is very small for "delux room". Restaurant food was horrible. We talked to the reception - they said restaurant wasn't ready for the season.
Review 126:Location, design. Very beautiful hotel with a nice view on the lake. Good SPA, friendly staff.
Review 127:Everything! The attention to detail was spectacular. The owner was on site every day and made a point to converse with his guests. He is charming, and always made you feel that you were the most important thing to him at that moment - never rushed our chats.
Review 128:30 minutes walk from the city center (Nice walk though) and not enough shuttle rounds to go there.
Review 129:The hotel is one of the most enjoyable hotels I have ever visited in. The staff if amazing, the view from the hotel is the best in Stresa, the rooms and the lobby are perfect and so is the spa. Bottom line - 10!!!!!
Review 130:Could hear the conversation of people in next room!! It was like theywere in our room. Spa absolutely tiny. No room.
Review 131:Staff friendly. Good breakfast
