Reviews for Sasebo Washington Hotel
Review 1:Access is off a very narrow street (like a lot in Japan) however this also has cars buses and taxis in and out all the time making those of us who prefer to catch the JR 'Midori' limited express train and walk from Sasebo station with suitcases very risky. Guest laundry - Two washing machines and two dryers for a hotel this size - it makes for an interesting night going to and from the laundry to see if someone who put their washing on 'three hours ago' would do the courteous thing and remove their washing so others can use the facilities.
Review 2:Having stayed in other hotels in and around Sasebo this to us was average to good! The hotel lobby is nice and the facilities are ok! They have a laundry for guests (see What didn't you like section for additional comments). Anyway, the room was small (twin room) beds were not as comfortable as others and the room looked a little dated. Staff were nice enough, some nicer than others.
Review 3:Room was definitely a lot smaller than a dorm room. I'm a smallperson and it was interesting to try and move around in the bathroom.
Review 4:Perfect for a quick overnight stay. All basic amenities were provided(toiletries, pajamas, slippers, free wifi, hot water kettle and tea).Small laundromat for use. Two restaurants (one for breakfast only, theother one is open for dinner only). Breakfast restaurant provided an allyou can eat Japanese buffet for a reasonable price. Front desk staffspoke limited English but were very courteous and helpful ... evenassisted in mailing out some packages for me. Location is right acrossthe street from the jr station and a small shopping center. Overall arelaxing and quiet stay.
Review 5:The beds are on the stiff side for my liking.
Review 6:Excellent location! Easy access to all modes of transportation. (Bus, Train/Rail and Taxies. Many great food and shopping areas near. (Walking Distance) Staff was exceptionally helpful; onsite laundry.
Review 7:There was not free Wifi associated to the Hotel. I had a weak connection from another building.
Review 8:The price was not bad. It was a ok spot to lay my head.
Review 9:Room a bit small.
Review 10:Staff were very helpful - helped to recommend eating places around the area and help us with the bookings of ferry from Shimabara to KUMAMOTO as we do not know how to speak Japanese. Breakfast is good with nice, good spread of food.
Review 11:bed wasn't comfortable and the room was very hot during the day. the "a/c" would only blow hot air but I was able to open the window to enjoy all the "pleasant" street noise :(
Review 12:The rooms were very small for two adults with two large suitcases.
Review 13:The location of this hotel to the bus and train station was a short walking distance. It was a good value for the cost.
Review 14:Only a few tv channels. Nothing international. Would like to see news, nature, and entertainment channels added for foreign viewers.
Review 15:Location near bus and train station.
Review 16:The bed is a little hard for me. There is not an individual thermostat for the room.
Review 17:The staff is friendly, the hotel is clean, and good location for the base and shopping.
Review 18:My husband and I did not like the bed. It was hard, uncomfortable and small and I usually like a firm mattress. I found sleeping on the floor in Tokyo to be more comfortable. Was expensive since there was a convention in town.
Review 19:I liked how close it was to the base as well as the train station (I was traveling in after being in Tokyo for a few days) everything was very clean and the staff was friendly.
Review 20:1. Room is very small, one luggage can block the entire passway. 2. Need to pay to use the computer. 3. Breakfast is too simple.
Review 21:1. Location: very close to Sasebo JR station, but not so easy to find it (behind a parking lot and a small street). 2. Room is very clean with needed supplies. 3. Wifi connection is good.
Review 22:No complaints. Would definitely stay at hotel again and recommend it to others.
Review 23:Was exactly what it was represented to be. Location was as described, staff went out of their way to be helpful, and cleanliness was above expectations.
Review 24:A bit small. But excellent facilities for the price. I love coming here. Bit crowded if the pachinko place is busy.
Review 25:the only place I stay in Sasebo.

Review 45:communication need staff to speak other language
Review 46:staff friendly ,
Review 47:A bit shabby, no English TV and very small room
Review 48:Hard beds Small room
Review 49:Reasonably priced Close to Sasebo train station Nice restaurant/bar across the street Clean
Review 50:From reservation to check out it was just what we needed. If you are in the Sasebo area, this is the spot to stay at.
Review 51:Staff speaks very little English and can only quote the rules. We arrived at noon after a rough overnight flight & asked if our room might be available. The desk clerk only repeatedly said "two-o-clock" as this was the official check-in time. Rooms are tiny and a double room has a smaller than US double bed shoved in the corner with no room for suitcases other than the narrow walkway. Our son asked why we'd booked a single room when he saw it. There are few TV channels and all are in Japanese.
Review 52:Location is close to train & bus stations.
Review 53:The staff was very polite and helpful, even with my limited Japanese and their limited English. They tried very hard to help me after my luggage didn't arrive from the airport for 5 days.
Review 54:The bed was a little small for two people, and on the hard side of firm.
Review 55:The lobby felt quite posh, despite this being a budget hotel. The staff were numerous and friendly. The view from the room was great. Only 5 minutes walk from the station.
Review 56:No individual room control for heat/air conditioning.
Review 57:Reasonably priced, close to JR Station, car parking next to hotel. Decent breakfast but Japanese only. Very accommodating staff held our luggage until check-in became available.
Review 58:I am still wainting on reply for this overcharge. I have attached thecomplaint.Customer Service, It's showing that i got charge twice on my credit card for the room. I cancelled the first reservation on the 29 Aug 13 which was 2 days before my stay and it charge me so that's why i ask to reverse the cancellation so that way i wouldn't lose my money. The reservation was modified but the charge still stayed on my statement. Is there a pending reimbursment for my transaction? sincerely, Walder Oscar
Review 59:I like that customer service is usually friendly and the room isfairly cleaned.
Review 60:The bed felt like I was sleeping on bricks and the pillows were hard like rice was stuffed in them. This hotel needs to upgrade their bedding system because it is the most uncomfortable thing I've ever experienced.
Review 61:I like the fact that the hotel rooms are really clean and neat. The bathroom are big and they provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash and face wash. The staff were really friendly and they were really helpful.
Review 62:Room was a bit smaller than expected but it would not prevent me from staying at Sasebo Washington Hotel in the future
Review 63:-Friendly efficient staff and excellent wi-fi. -Clean and comfortable room. -
Review 64:The bed is rather hard. The pillows are typical of Japan--filled withdried beans or pellets or whatever. I brought my own, as usual.
Review 65:Very convenient location-just a quick walk to Sasebo train station.Clean and quiet- a great value!
Review 66:A little bit old fashioned
