Reviews for Hotel Emilia
Review 1:The wifi does not work from the rooms; but only from the lobby. In thisday, that is a major disadvantage, but honestly not sure if maybe thisis standard for smaller Mexican venues. It is unfortunate because Ireally depend on the internet for travel info. Also, when firstarriving, it is important to know where to park your car or you willdrive yourself a little crazy. The streets in Taxco are tough tonavigate for new people-and a bit scary if you are not used to them. Theparking lot for this hotel was down the street and around the corner. This info is essential to have.
Review 2:Great staff and awesome location, close to the zocalo. Rooms werenothing luxurious, but clean and satisfactory. I needed a few thingscleaned, and the housekeeper did them for 5 pesos each, which was goingabove and beyond their usual services. The whole area is great for shopping--both at the shops and on the street. This was a totally charmingexperience.
Review 3:The could have shaped up the "roof terrace", there is excellent views so why not use it and buy sun beds or something.
Review 4:Very friendly staff, coozy little hotel and probably good value for money because I think that the standard in general is a bit "lower" in Taxco as it is a bit older. But don't expect same standard as in Mexico city etc. Nice location, VERY beautiful city with excellent scenery. If you have the ability take a taxi (the offer guided tours and will take you to all the special sights in the city, like the mirador -where you can take nice panoramic pictures, silver factory where you can see how the work with silver jewelry etc, and of course the posas azules! SOOOOOOO worth the visit, feels like hawaii with a beautiful little "water fall" and lagoon-feeling where you can bath. Entrence only costs around 20 pesos por person but bring food, or picnic, you can buy sodas and snacks at the entrence but not much else.
