Reviews for Toyoko Inn Sasebo Ekimae
Review 1:Really small room (even for japanese standards), hard bed and the check-in/check-out hours.
Review 2:Location, it´s perfect. Very, very close to the train station.
Review 3:The room-service (room cleaning) is only at a designated time that has to be reserved at the time of check-in. I haven't encountered this system before so I was new to the concept that the time cannot be changed later once set.
Review 4:Location was very convenient, right next to the JR Sasebo Station. Great coffee place next to it, 'Seattle's Best Coffee'. Complimentary breakfast (even though the room reservation did not say so). Great staff, very comfortable bed, very clean, spacious room, big bathroom (a bit uncommon in Japan). It was hard to imagine its was a 2 star hotel.
Review 5:Smaller than what were used to and the bed and pillows were very firm for our taste (used to very soft and fluffy bedding). Internet in the room is wired only, was not able to connect to it with our laptop or portable devices. A better bet is to rent a portable wifi device for aroun 1000Yen per day.
Review 6:Very clean room with great location. Seattle's Best coffee shop right outside the front door which is another option for breakfast in the morning. Very close to the train station, a shopping center and variety of restaurants.
Review 7:The heating system was inadequate. When I first entered the room the temperature was 15 degrees C. The setpoint on the thermostat was limited to a maximum of 20 degrees C. The room temperature never got above 19 degrees C even after running all night.
Review 8:Breakfast was good.
Review 9:The receptionist was all smiles but I could tell she wasn't too keen on entertaining non-japanese speakers. When I wanted to ask her a question regarding a nearby attraction, she said "sorry. I'm very busy now" and hurried off to receive another Japanese group. However, she did not return to me after that group was settled. The hotel's check-in policy was really inflexible. The check-in time was 4pm and they would not admit us any earlier. The only reason we choose this hotel was because of it's close proximity to Huis Ten Bosch. The hotels at Huis Ten Bosch were expensive, so this was a cheaper alternative that would allow us to zip off to the theme park without spending too much time on the road.
Review 10:I'm rating it as 'just ok' as compared to the usual impeccable Japanese service standard. So it's not bad really, but just not up to par with others.
Review 11:Very small room, even by Japanese standards. Room faced Hwy 35, lots of traffic noise. More set up for drunk Japanese business men, than for a couple looking for a nice place to stay.
Review 12:Close to JR train station, and shopping. Low price. Walking distance to the U.S. Navy base.
Review 13:Parking lot was full the first night. Even though we spoke Japanese they didn't try to explain to us what to do about it. By the third night we were able to park in the lot for the hotel because they saved us a spot. It was confusing and frustrating.
Review 14:I loved that this was right next to the station, a grouping of shops, and an arcade full of restaurants. There are some great Mexican restaurants and bars just down the road.
Review 15:Very close to Sasebo JR station where you can find city tour bus. Free Breakfast is good. Walking distance to shopping street which a lot of traditional restaurants are there.
Review 16:Late check-in time, 4:00PM, and they won't let you in early. If you've had a long day of travel and are looking forward to getting into your room to relax and unwind, this is not the place for you. Coupled with late check-in time they have an early check-out time, 10:00am. Most hotels have an 11 or 12 check-out time and don't charge if you're a little late. This place charges $10.00 per hour if your late checking out. Bring your own soap and shampoos because they don't provide them.
Review 17:The breakfast was decent, the room was quite.
Review 18:Hotel would not let us, nor any other guests, check in a minute before 1600 (with an early 10AM checkout) leaving long check in lines and disgruntled guests. Staff was rude and unfriendly, not very accomadating at all. Ive stayed in several Japanese Hotels before and they would rank easily as the worst. The room also smelled very stale, and we had two spiders that were caught crawling around in various parts of the room (again, staff was unaccomadating.)
Review 19:It was right next to the train station giving it perfect location.
Review 20:the hotel has bad internet, they clean the rooms a floor at a time, which left people waiting in the lobby for their keys for 2 or 3 jours. I choose not to have my room cleaned because of this. The hotel has a strick 4:oopm check-in time becuase of the way they clean their rooms by the floor, I seen room open all day long they don't finish until right around 4:00pm.
Review 21:the room was clean.
Review 22:Rooms were a bit small.
Review 23:Staff was really friendly and the facilities where very clean. A nice Japanese style breakfast to start the day. Nice to be next to the train station.
Review 24:none, but if I am late there may not be any room for my car.
Review 25:Location, facilities are excellent
Review 26:Nothing. We had a good stay.
Review 27:Great location. Literally a few steps from the train terminal. Usual efficient Toyoko Inn formula.
Review 28:The beds were too firm. Hear other room conversations and foot steps from the hallway.
Review 29:Japganese breakfast was tasty, like homecooking.
Review 30:1 min. from JR station
Review 31:no trash in bathroom
Review 32:Location
Review 33:thr perfect location! just a fee steps away from JR station.
Review 34:Location Cleanness
Review 35:Check in time not flexible for 15 mins. Very disappointed.
Review 36:Good price for the good location.
Review 37:The place was value for money good location beside train station not far off huis ten bosch.
Review 38:check out time is a bit early
Review 39:location is really convenient, offers free breakfast
Review 40:weakness WIFI in the room
Review 41:location
Review 42:The breakfast was mainly set for Japanese so I was not really able to enjoy the breakfast as I don't like traditional Japanese type foods. Breakfast is also served a little late for those of us who had to start work early.
Review 43:Location, facilities and staff were all excellent!
Review 44:Nothing bad to say about this "plain vanilla" hotel.
Review 45:This is one of the closest hotels from the Sasebo Train Station. Just outside the door and you can see the English sign on the building. Breakfast was included and it was simple Japanese and very tasty. WiFi reception was good.
Review 46:Staffs are impolite with poor English & poor attitude. Even if u just ask them one question, they show annoyance on thier face. Poor air conditioning
Review 47:Excellent location where can walk to the station within 1 min. Room is comfortable & clean.
Review 48:This is the next most convenient alternative hotel if you can't get a room near Huis Ten Bosch. This hotel is new and serve good breakfast. Highly recommended.
Review 49:The Staff at Iwakuni during my last stay did not seam friendly, all business. I said Staff but really is was just the on staff member I talked with during my check-in.
Review 50:I have a Toyoko memebership card and I enjoy knowing that where ever I am may be Toyoko Inn is easy to locate with great rates and feel like home.
Review 51:-Room was a little too small for bed as was bathroom which is normal for Japanese hotel. Still good value for the money.
Review 52:-Front Desk staff was the most polite and friendly of all hotels I have stayed in Sasebo. -Comfortable bed and well supplied bathroom.
Review 53:Good value for money- don't expect any extra level of service. Hotel was booked out but breakfast prepared was not enough. We were lucky to have a bit of rice with some pickles!
Review 54:Location. Value for money. Comes with complimentary hot Japanese breakfast.
Review 55:Check in time is too late, at 4:00 pm.
Review 56:Perfect location about 50 m from Sasebo station. Quite clean room even though the room is a little bit too small.
Review 57:rooms are small (?); but, it's Japan, so not really...
Review 58:Good hotel, clean, and great location. This place books up quickly so book early.
Review 59:No english
Review 60:It was really quiet
Review 61:The smell of smoke near the entrance (since the smoking area was beside the entrance door)
Review 62:Location, free breakfast, very clean
Review 63:the room is small
Review 64:the location is perfect right next to the station
