Reviews for UNIZO INN Nagoya Sakae

Review 1:The bed size is too small for 2 peoples ( i got the semidouble room ), no others room available .

Review 2:The location really convenience, have hot pool to relax after whole day activity

Review 3:Room size is small. The ceiling to floor height is very low giving you very crampy feeling. Considering that hotel is new, but there are lots of staining on the room's carpet. Hair on the floor. No ice machine. I think the price is not expensive but when comparing to the other samw class hotel we stayed in another city- it is not a good deal. Will not stay here again if given another choice.

Review 4:Location wise is very convenient, just few minutes walk from Sakae Station.

Review 5:The blanket looks dirty.

Review 6:Location is beet of the best. Everything is well equipped. Super friendly staff except they don't speak very good English.

Review 7:Be careful! There are 2 UNIZO INN Nagoya Sakae close to the Sakae station, so check the address carefully otherwise Google map takes you to the UNIZO INN Nagoya Sakae HIGASHI!

Review 8:Everything was OK. Neat little room at a good location, close to shopping and metro for sight seeing. Good value for money, if you don't expect anything special.

Review 9:No smoking area in the building, i.e., you can only smoke outside. The elevators are pretty slow and they always stop at the front lobby on the 2nd floor, which was a bit annoying for me.

Review 10:Good location. Good value for money.

Review 11:No option for meals (though a conbini and eatery appeared attached on the ground floor)

Review 12:Top location. Close to subway. Reasonable price. Cleanand tidy with good facilities

Review 13:No complaint except one has to drake luggages along steps to road surface from subway no lift to assist weaker people especially older ones

Review 14:Near to subway clean and pleasant

Review 15:1. Single Room is a little bit small.

Review 16:1. Location is very close to subway entry. 2. Elevator is controlled by the room key and can only enter the floor of your room. Privacy is good, but not easy to take or bring things to other friends room. (Can only exchange in lobby).

Review 17:Would be nice if the café offer different option on breakfast but there are restaurant all around the hotel so the option is not limited but opt out of breakfast if you want variety as they serve the same thing every single day.

Review 18:The location is perfect, Sakae Subway exit 2 is literally outside the main entrance. Don't use Google maps as they have another UNIZO hotel about 10mins walk the wrong direction from the subway. Love the option of having coin Laundromat at the reception area. Only guest can access the guest floors with access key, the security is great. There is a convenient store and a café at ground floor. Sakae Station has a lot of good options for cheap and yummy food.

Review 19:great location, only 2mins from 榮station exit 2. warm service. family mart and 7-11 are just around the corner. more exiciting thing is the 24hr donki_hote locate just across the street.

Review 20:Only mild criticism were the lifts were very slow and sometimes you'd be waiting upto 2-3 minutes for one in lobby or on your floor.

Review 21:Was very reasonably priced for a city centre hotel, staff friendly and did best to overcome language barrier and was very comfortable stay

Review 22:No breakfast is provided. There's restaurant on the ground floor though.

Review 23:It's very conveniently located, right outside Exit 2 of the Sakae Subway station. The lobby is creamy white in colour, very bright and clean and minimalism in design.

Review 24:For my doubled-bed room, the room size is pretty small but i know this is usual for the budget hotels in Japan

Review 25:Location is perfect. The hotel opened a year ago but the facilities still looked like brand new. Like the hotel very much.

Review 26:The only thing i don't like is the size of the room.

Review 27:Unizo inn hotel is in a good location and has complete room utilities. The wi-fi signal is very good even inside the rooms. It is also very clean and looks like new.

Review 28:No have. Everything perfect.

Review 29:Clean room. Strong wifi and excellent staff. They are very kind. This hotel near subway train and easier to found hotel. I really like this hotel.

Review 30:Nothing

Review 31:The conditions of all facilities, very clean and like brand new. Also extremely convenient location. I couldn't expect more by paying this reasonable room rate. My friends were envy me because they stayed in another hotels in Sakae with similar prices.

Review 32:First of all the stuff are good good to us second room are great...love it

Review 33:That is the best hotel we have in the japan from narita to nagoya back to narita.

Review 34:The stay is enjoyable. Will stay there again. Impressed by the polite staff. It is a modern hotel at an excellent location but is charged with a reasonable price.

Review 35:The carpet in our room had seen its best days.

Review 36:Basic business hotel conveniently located in central Nagoya. Quiet room. Definitely worth the rate we paid.

Review 37:Typical Japanese busines hotel but with modern designed nice rooms. If you want to visit Nagoya downtown perfect location in Sakaee. Room size small as common in Japan but even a big bigger than other hotels in same Cathegory

Review 38:None

Review 39:It is a new hotel, great location (heart of Sakae), awesome that it has it's own Family Mart and partnership with Tully's. I liked my room very much and they gave me a corner room at no extra cost.

Review 40:Breakfast is served in the cafe at the ground floor. It is a rather poor attempt at Western breakfast.

Review 41:Straight outside exit 2 of Sakae station, this is great location. Rooms are very nicely kept but very small.

Review 42:the bed was too small for a couple with 1 child. The bed size is only 120-125cm.

Review 43:We stayed here from May 19-24. The hotel is just a few steps from Exit 2of Sakae station. It also has a Family Mart and Tully's cafe at the ground floor. If you are carrying luggages or baby stroller better use exit 8 at Sunshine Sakae for the elevator but you will have to walk around 3 minutes and cross the street twice. The hotel is also very near Central Park (5 mins walk) and Oasis 21 (7mins walk). If you want to go to Daiso 100 yen shop, it's about 8-10 mins walk at Skyle (Sukairu) bldg behind Sunshine Sakae. Daiso is on the 7th floor. If you want to eat buffet (chicken, pork and veggies), go to Moku Moku at the 7th flr of Sunshine Sakae. Buffet rate is JPY 2,365/pax drinks and tax included. The room was very wisely designed to be able to fit everything you need in a 12sqm area. It has a 120cm semi-double bed, safe, writing table with chair, bath tub, toilet with hand-held remote control for bidet, hair dryer, toiletries, hangers but no cabinet and complimentary bottled water. If you need to ask anything before your trip, try sending them an email, Koji Uesegi will always reply to your email.

Review 44:The hotel location was very conveniently located near the Sakae subway station. The area itself is lively and has many good places to eat and drink. The room was small but clean and well-designed.

Review 45:It was slightly annoying that the elevator always stopped on floor 2 (where the desk is) regardless of if you needed to or not. The staff also spoke minimal English, but were still very helpful.

Review 46:The hotel is in a fantastic location. I didn't realize how perfect the location was when I booked it, but it's walking distance to main Nagoya attractions! Including: the science museum, Nagoya castle, Oasis 21, and Sakae district itself is bustling with places to eat and drink. Sakae is also the "party area" of downtown, so this may be a downside if you have kids. The room size was also pretty decent for a Japanese business hotel, but would be too small of traveling with children.

Review 47:My room was very clean but some little spots were not cleaned.

Review 48:Everything is done to make your stay enjoyable. Moreover, I had a amazing view on Sakae from my window.

Review 49:Room is a small as we know japanese hotels are normally small in big cities. Quilt was a little bit uncomfotable.

Review 50:Near subway and shopping area, love the shower in this hotel. Window can be opened which was nice.

Review 51:The room is too small

Review 52:The hotel room including bathroom is clean, they change the towel and pajamas everyday. The location is great, less than 2 minutes walk from sakae subway station exit 2. Family mart down the hotel and very easy to find restaurant around the hotel. There's Coach & LV boutique near the hotel:-), and if you go cross the street you'll find tax free market where you can buy kit kat and the famous muji cocolate (cheaper than other market).

Review 53:Reception staff had very limited English, but they did try. The hotel needs to emphasise that they are found by using exit 2 from the subway, as there is another Unizo Inn in Sakae, and when you arrive tired and are trying to find them on the map, you can get confused.

Review 54:Small but very clean room, very quiet. A simple but good breakfast.

Review 55:The hotel was very near the train station, and everything was very clean. The rooms are small, but everything, from the toilet to the clothes hangers, are space-efficient.

Review 56:All beds in Japan are hard, not really the hotel's fault that they are not comfortable for non native travelers.

Review 57:Price was great for location and cool factor.

Review 58:During winter, compulsory heating from air vent. Room was stuffy and hot. Luckily window could be opened with better ventilation.

Review 59:Within 30 seconds walk from Sakae Exit 2. Lots of shopping area and restaurants around. Familly Mart and Tully's coffee is right next to hotel entrence. Room is cozy, clean and tidy. Complimentery bottle of water for every night of stay. Staffs are nice and friendly.

Review 60:The hotel location is very good, one minute from no.2 exit of sakae station. There is a 7-11 on first floor. Hotel lobby at 2nd floor. Room is small but with all necessary equipment. Spotless room. Decoration is new. Nice and efficient staff. All you need for a basic business hotel for a short stay. Value of money. The hotel is next to all kinds of reataurants and shopping malls. 3 or 4 subway stop to Nagoya station and 2 stop to Nagoya castle.

Review 61:The room is generally clean except for the toilet. It smells like it was not thoroughly cleaned. Bed is comfortable but i find the pillows a bit hard

Review 62:Location is excellent! For a budget hotel, this is great, so close to the subway and shopping mall and restaurants. The room is small like any other hotels in Japan but its a good value for money.

Review 63:Staff could not communicate well in English. Only one did during my four days stay.

Review 64:Security is also good. Key card is used for elevator up to guest rooms and the card automatically drives the elevator to floor according to our card, no need to press the floor button.

Review 65:Basically everything. Location, price, modern and clean standards - the Family Mart & Tully's downstairs. I couldn't fault anything and would most definitely stay again - the whole concept of Unizo is excellent.

Review 66:The only thing I didn't liked is that they have a very limited and old choices of movies on their VOD.

Review 67:It was my first trip in Nagoya and when I booked this hotel I did not really cares how accessible it is. All I wanted was a place to sleep in since it was a unplanned trip. I arrived at the hotel around 10pm and was surprised to see how close it really was to everything. From banks, shopping malls, restaurants, convenience stores, coffee shops, and train station. The staff were very accomodating. They had an english speaker when I arrived. I fell in love with the rooms as it was very spacious and clean. Although they don't have any space to put your luggage, they have enough hangers that you could use. Bathrooms were clean and towels are soft. The bed is comfortable and even though I booked a smoking room, it didn't really smelled. Goes to show that they really make sure to keep the rooms clean and fresh. If you try to go out late at night to drink, it wouldn't be so hard to find a place to go to as there are a lot of bars to choose from. Nishiki is just few steps away from the hotel and Sakae is just one taxi away. Their wifi is very reliable that I was even able to get a connection at the ground floor. Will definitely book this hotel the next time I visit Nagoya.

Review 68:Perfect location. just a minute walk to subway entrance. Near a lot of malls and good shopping place. Just across the street is a don quijote store. 5 mins from the hotel is oasis 21, skyle (has a floor dedicated for daiso) Rooms are clean and comfy for solo travelers but might be a bit tight for two but still bearable since the hotel location is absolutely amazing.

Review 69:Room is pretty small. We travel with a backpack (no check in luggage), so it's still all right. If you have luggage, there's practically no space to walk from the toilet to bed. Jump to the bed instead. Haha. Toilet is pretty small too. We're 2 Asian girls, so it's quite manageable. If you're bigger, then I suppose you might bump your head or shoulders a bit. :) But seriously, if you're bigger sized, with luggage and you mind the space, then pay more and get a room from International western standard hotels. Japanese hotels are always small, but they have everything in the room.

Review 70:Location is awesome. Just 1 minute walk from Sakae Subway station Exit 2. There are about 16 exits in Sakae Subway station I think, if you take the wrong one, you end up the other side of a big busy road. Plenty of food nearby. 5 min walk to Oasis 21 and TV Tower. There's a direct limo (bus) from airport that stops at Oasis 21, but it only runs 4 times a day. Check online for the schedule. Otherwise you have to catch a train to Nagoya Station and change to subway there. Room was very very clean. The best thing about Japan overall is the cleanliness, facilities and politeness of the people. Ample Shiseido toiletries provided :) Price is pretty good though, we paid JPY 8240 without breakfast.

Review 71:The double bed is just like a bigger single bed but ok for a short stay

Review 72:Excellent location close to shopping malls, restaurants and just 1 min walk to the subway station.

Review 73:just 60 steps away from exit No. 2 of Sakea subway station. The hotel is very new, smart, and eco friendly. Location is super, just IN the Sakea shopping area. love this hotel. top choice while staying in Nagoya.

Review 74:The elevator always have to stoped at 2nd floor (lobby) both go up or down.

Review 75:Near Sakae subway station exit No.2 in just a minute. Have a convenience store and coffee shop on the ground floor of the hotel. Opposite to DonQijote and not far from many department stores.

Review 76:the big single bed consider double bed,if both r big size,is not enough for u all rest. i hope can get any travel information around lobby...

Review 77:clean,location

Review 78:Bed is super single rather than double. Not much space for anything else. However, these are just minor inconveniences compared to the strong points for the hotel

Review 79:Conveniently located near to subway; short walking distances to shopping areas and restaurants; good wifi access & clean rooms

Review 80:Staff cannot communicate in English.

Review 81:Wifi Connection in Room is good, the hotel location is really near to the subway and near to the shopping location.

Review 82:- pillow too thick and hurts my neck after a long shopping day - the elevator is a bit small. Nearly full when we have 2 people with 2 large luggage suitcases

Review 83:- excellent location, just a few step to subway exit 6 and opposite to 驚安之殿堂 - cafe and convenience store right at the G/F, easy for food - new, clean and comfort room

Review 84:This brand-new hotel is just in front of Sakae-Station and is the oppsite side of Don-Qui-Jote Shopping mall. All shopping area and downtown is within walking distance. The room was not huge, but big enough for single business traveller and was so clean. Breakfast on the ground floor was really good and service of staff was helpful. I would stay in this hotel again for my next trip to Nagoya.

Review 85:No room temp control. They had changed over to heat only so no way to get cooler that what they had the heat set too. They appear to have it set for about 26 C. I was told to just open the window. As I was on the 13 floor I was supprised that the windows open. If you like it hot then this is perfect for you.

Review 86:Very clean and modern. Room is a bit small but had everything you need. Controlled entrance and in good location.

Review 87:Rooms are very small (but can't complain for cost). Breakfast is very limited and not best quality.

Review 88:Good value for money. Great location. Only a few steps away from station. Newly built/refurbed rooms. Helpful staff.

Review 89:Staff had limited english - however enough to allow me to check in without difficulty

Review 90:Great location for shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Clean and comfortable Great price

Review 91:The room was a bit small for two people. Alright for a short stay with no luggage.

Review 92:Ideal location, standard of cleanliness, and service. A good night's sleep! Tully's Coffee and Family Mart downstairs were very convenient.

Review 93:Air conditioning. The room is rather warm.

Review 94:Excellent location, the place is clean. Like most Japanese hotel, rooms are rather small but okay for me with just a small luggage.

Review 95:Best location in the center of Nagoya; easy access and close to train station. Very professional and polite front desk staff. I will definately be back! Thanks!

Review 96:The English of the staff is not good. They provide the service of international distant calls but they can't tell the price per minute of making such call.

Review 97:Price is cheap. Room is tidy and inconvenient. Location is good. Value for money.

Review 98:1,Very nice location ,just 1min to the shakae subway station (exit 2). 2,very clean and bright room, like a mini 5star hotel. Highly recommend this hotel for the Nagoya trip!!!

Review 99:Small (but that's to be expected) No phone charger available A little dated-looking

Review 100:Comfortable bed Good water pressure Quiet Nice location Kind staff

Review 101:Breakfast outsourced in 3rd party coffee shop was average to poor, no money changing facility.

Review 102:Super clean and well maintained, Wi-Fi excellent, good vfm

Review 103:-They always knock on your door early for housekeeping and if you don't answer they will call. There is no do not disturb sign in the room.

Review 104:-Location -Room is immaculate

Review 105:The room was perfect size for single traveler, clean, contemporary, easily walkable from jr station and right in the middle of lots of dining and shopping.

Review 106:-The room is a little small but I have stayed in smaller whilst in Japan.

Review 107:-Location was just perfect -Immaculately clean -Early check-in is available. Charge is any extra 1000yen per hour. -Would definitely stay here again

Review 108:Nothing whatsoever.

Review 109:The location, the cosy room, the help of the staff, who negociated our way into 'Mei and Satsuki's House', which was sold out. Absolutely super

Review 110:No complaints at all, best hotel I stayed in during my trip

Review 111:I could walk out the door of the unizo and every thing I needed was directly in front of me.

Review 112:Staff seemed a bit nervous and struggled with the check in process in English.

Review 113:It's very new and is a comfortable place to stay right in the centre of town.

Review 114:I was amazed by its facilities, location and price. The room is totally modern with all appliances you need. Everything is absolutely clean and the staff are too courteous.

Review 115:The room is too small and though the staff were kind to apologize in-advance for an over-sized baby cot which they kindly installed, the access to the bathroom was restricted to crab-like side movement.

Review 116:Overall, the hotel alone is good. The staff were very kind to have arranged a big baby cot for our 9-month-old baby which was much appreciated. Rooms and premises including the 1F lobby and 2F check-in counter are squeaky clean.

Review 117:There is another hotel with the exact same name about a 5 minute walk in the wrong direction and that was the hotel my smart phone led me to... Other than that, there was nothing bad about this hotel.

Review 118:The hotel is brand new, so everything was very clean and very nice. Staff is friendly. Free bottle of water, while unnecessary, was a nice touch. The shower was fantastic and the room was bigger than most Japanese hotel rooms. Bed was really comfortable and the halls were quiet.

Review 119:The room is incredibly small, the bed size is 1.2m, and there's only 1 bed in the room for 2 persons! I double checked and the room is indeed for 2 persons. My husband and I are tall, we tried to change to a bigger room, but the staff told us there's no bigger room(not existing or not available, not clear, staffs' english is quite limited). This made our nights there quite hard. If you travel along, this hotel could be a smart choice; but if you are couples, I will not recommend this hotel to you.

Review 120:location is good, but hard to find, because few people knows. The bathroom is small but well equipped. Teeth brushes, slippers, night gowns are offered.

Review 121:The bed cover is not completely clean.

Review 122:Location, staff, value

Review 123:Excellent location , clean bathroom , there are many stores around the area. Etc , I would definitely recommend it .

Review 124:The breakfast at Tully's is forgettable.

Review 125:Liked the Eco cleaning option for the rooms.

Review 126:Only a minute walk to the subway station, all kinds of restaurants, shops, cafés are nearby. Very clean.

Review 127:Location and cleanliness

Review 128:Noisy street

Review 129:Excellent Location!

Review 130:Poor English...
