Reviews for JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo

Review 1:Very Convenient location for transport, shopping and dining. Friendly service and facilities are good, especially being able to take hot spring bath in town center!

Review 2:The staff are well trained with good standard. English is relatively good comparing to other local hotels. The room is standard chain hotel type. Location is perfect!

Review 3:The room reaked of cigarette smell. It's a non smoking room so that was disappointing. Told the staff but I guess there was nothing that can be done. They provided air purifier but the purifier actually emitted cigarette smell (must be dirty).

Review 4:It's a very nice hotel. Will stay again when we go to Sapporo.

Review 5:The price was rather much more expensive than other hotels near by

Review 6:Location with connected walkway to all other buildings without having to go outdoor at all during the cold winter weather

Review 7:Location is extremely convenient; lots of shopping such as Daimaru, supermarkets & underground shops. Within 5-20 mins, there are also many good restaurants around.

Review 8:The location is unbeatable, its right above the sapporo train station. Very convenient when traveling in the freezing winter as its connected to a few shopping malls and the underground walkway which connects to the other centralised shopping area. Direct train to the airport right there.

Review 9:Wanted to extend my stay but as usual they wanted to charge me more than two times as much for the only other room available. . Of course i moved out.

Review 10:Well appointed room good 4 star

Review 11:The room was smaller than I expected, probably because due to the larger than normal shower room size. The breakfast in Sky J was only so so when compared to other Nikko hotels in Japan.

Review 12:Comfortable room and bed, nice decoration

Review 13:The rooms were small so if you have 2 large cases they will fill the room.

Review 14:Central hotel with well located rooms. Great beds, quiet and dark. Great views of the city.

Review 15:Like all Japanese hotel, the single room is tiny with only a bed and a desk. The hotel is a bit old; give the high price. Compared with other hotels nearby, Best Western seems to be a better value.

Review 16:It is absolutely in the center of everything. Like a good Japanese establishment, it is very clean and detailed taken care of. Security is very good with card access only to the floor.

Review 17:There were some noise in midnight, could be the elevator or the air conditioning.

Review 18:Excellent location, very convenient, everything is within 5 mins walk. Special request on pillows and blanket were well prepared upon arrival.

Review 19:We liked that it was right next door to the train station. The staff was excellent but very little English spoken. The quality of room was superior despite it being extremely tiny- can rival some of Manhattan's hotel rooms. We ate on the 35th floor for dinner and had a delicious meal, spectacular view of the city at night and lovely live music.

Review 20:No gym facilities

Review 21:Location is very convenient. The card key function at the lift is great and adds to the security of access. Choices of breakfast places are good and services are good too.

Review 22:The location is the best. The hotel staffs are all friendly and attentive. The facilities are very new or maintained in excellent conditions. The travel accessories provided in the bathroom room are very considerate in detail, well above other hotels we stayed in Japan. We love this hotel and wish others can catchup its standard.

Review 23:Breakfast at 1F restaurant has no choice and for kid, but still very good service and attitude.

Review 24:Fantasic scenery from the 35F restaurant; super convenient location for dinning, shopping or even transportation; nice service from everyone in the hotel.

Review 25:No reception of wifi. I had to turn on my mobile data during my entire stay. Front desk personnel was very unbending. I requested for a slightly later check out & his response was that I have to pay for it. Very unbending even though it was running at full capacity!

Review 26:Location was fantastic

Review 27:Our Executive Double Room was tiny. There was not enough storage space. Fortunately we were travelling light and had only one suitcase.

Review 28:Conveniently located next to Sapporo Station. Excellent bathroom amenities.

Review 29:Excellent location right above the JR station with birds eye view of the city. Free Wifi in room. Very heplful and polite staff. Rooms are maintained well and no signs or aging.

Review 30:Everything is excellent. Front desk upgrade my room to 33rd floor. The new room is amazing. It's more valuable than my extra penny paid for that upgrade.

Review 31:The room/spa package allows you to use the spa only once per day. Not like other onsen that you can go to multiple times per day.

Review 32:Professional and friendly staff. Bell captains very accomodating in holding luggage. Very nice hotel to stay at and would stay there again. Many good restaurants nearby in JR station.

Review 33:Some of the japanese staff there ,were not so smiley. But not all. Some really took pride in their work. Was not happy that guests had to pay extra for spa usuage.

Review 34:excellent service, helpful staff, especially the chinese girl-trainee who was working on May26th evening.

Review 35:Upon requests I ask for clock tower view. They've just gave me the noisy room with no view. That room has notthing same as picture in booking.com I have to ask them triedly to get the exact room. Feeling tried after middle-haul flight.

Review 36:Nice View, Great location

Review 37:Spa hours are not convenient and you can use the spa only once per day.

Review 38:Professional and friendly staff who greet you. Bell captains are also very helpful.

Review 39:When we made the booking, we requested for a room on the higher floor. At check in, I think the front desk staff said we had been upgraded. Wewere given a room on 32nd floor and the view was absolutely spectacular!

Review 40:Price of room

Review 41:The staff were very helpful, any small thing was explained in details. Japanese hospitality at its very best. Location in the heart of everything in Sapparo

Review 42:Accidentally booked a smoking room via booking.com. They wouldn't accomodate me with a non smoking at check in. Also the staff like to tell you to take cabs but everywhere is like 15-20 minutes walking. We took a cab once and they took us to the wrong place.

Review 43:The location is perfect. You arrive into Sapporo via the JR and you're in your hotel. It's also pretty much walking distance anywhere even if they tell you otherwise.

Review 44:Parking is not free, 1200yen per a night. It was embarrassing that I had to pay for second person charge even though I reserved a double-bed room. And the front desk staff woman was not very favorable.

Review 45:The location is wonderful, hotel building connected inside to Stella Place.

Review 46:I booked a double room and filled in my husbands details as well as mine and got a price that was a quite dearer than the other hotels of its class but thought it was ok. When we got there they said it was booked for only one person ( even wher I pointed out the two names) they charged us an extra 11000 yen on top for just one night. This was a real rip off. The receptionist didnt have a lot of English. When we read the fine print it did say it was for one person. I think this is a problem with booking.com.

Review 47:The location was great for getting transport. The view magnificent. The staff very friendly and polite. Not a lot of English spoken.

Review 48:Buffet breakfast is usually busy, try the restaurant at the lobby floor if you are in hurry. I booked a double room, layout is not good that if you have 2 big laggage cases, but the view of my room is awesome. Staff is smart and speaks good English.

Review 49:The double bedroom was a bit small. Our children stayed in a twin bedroom, it was more spacious and comfortable.

Review 50:Centralized location to JR lines, subway lines, day tour pick-up point, closed to shopping centres where one can easily find a restaurant/cafe to eat. We loved the buffet breakfast at the hotel - quality food and reasonably good selection for both western and Japanese food and drinks. In general, the staff were polite and efficient. The bell captains offered good assistance in booking restaurants and helping us to find our ways to places.

Review 51:room is quite small.

Review 52:it's within walking distance to shopping mall. And is connected to trains and metro. so convenient. nice view of all over sapporo. easy to do self parking. great concierge services

Review 53:none

Review 54:location, staff service and most of all the view was great! we could see the whole city including TV tower. if i visit Sapporo again , I definitely stay here!

Review 55:The price is very expensive when compared with other hotels in Sapporo.

Review 56:Staff I'd very helpful with a great service mind. The location is very great for people who have a big luggage.

Review 57:A new trainee mis-charged us. I checked at once. Finally an experienced staff to help me amended the payment! Secondly, the pillows were not comfortable.

Review 58:Location is excellent

Review 59:We always had to wait for a table at the breakfast buffet at the top floor. Not much storage space in the Executive double room. The room was small. Okay for overnight stays. Not good if you have several luggages. The Executive Twin room is more spacious.

Review 60:Convenient location right next to JR Sapporo station and the Chuo bus station. Very helpful concierge. Several underground shopping, department stores and restaurants nearby.

Review 61:The hotel is difficult to book, it's always sold out! But I canunderstand that - read my comments above. The size of the room is verymodest, but that's typical for Japan and your there not to spendtime at the hotel!

Review 62:The location of the hotel is right over the jr Station, however youwon't hear any noise from the trains. Hotel spa was the secondreason for my choice - it is just fabulous, with hi-end facilities, massage and relaxation specialists, hair and facial salons. Breakfastoffered a good choice of European buffet with distinctive Japaneseflavour. The staff is the model of politeness, efficiency andhelpfulness. Room is well equipped with appliances (their idea for Applegadgets chargers is amazing!) and toiletries. Cleanliness is above allexpectations. Bar on 35 level is a great choice for evening cocktail. The hotel is definitely highly recommended for leisure tourists asit's the prime location for starting any journey in Sapporo, onHokkaido and in Japan - tourist, shopping, cultural, etc. Huge shoppingmalls are adjacent to the hotel building, as are restaurants, cinemas, tourist information centres. I just loved it!

Review 63:We bought a melon and asked for metal cutlery and proper plates from room service so that we can consume it in our room. Guess what? We were given plastic knives, forks and paper plates! We repeatedly asked for proper cutlery but the answer was "sorry we don't have"!!

Review 64:I had a smoking room ecause ot was the only available.i was coughing and had a tough night. The front desk told me the nonsmoking room costs about US$100 more and I stayed at that smoking rooom. The room is so small that i can barely move. I feel like in a capsule.

Review 65:The location which is good for transport and shopping.

Review 66:Only 'complaint' that I have is the room size. As the room was too small to squeeze in a rollaway bed, I had to share a bed with my daughter which was a bit uncomfortable. Also with 2 big luggage & 1 small trolley bag in the room, it was a bit of a squeeze.

Review 67:The hotel was centrally located, 5 minutes from Sapporo Station exit gate, connected to 4 different malls, underground shops & eating places. You will be spoilt for choice! Amenities provided in the room were excellent, major plus point was the kid pyjamas & bedroom slippers provided for my daughter. Really made her day! We stayed on the 31st floor, had an excellent view of the city & mountain. Breakfast choices were also good, you can choose to eat either at the Western style buffet or the Japanese style restaurant. Staff were very polite & helpful too. Would definitely stay here again.

Review 68:Rooms are very small, no space to walk after having one large size luggage open. Not ideal for more than 1 traveller.

Review 69:Location - on top of JR Station, and near the mall. Good central location as a base.

Review 70:It was quite expensive but the quality was excellent.

Review 71:Staff worked very hard to meet our requests. The hotel is 2 minutes from the train station and a huge shopping center; very well-located.

Review 72:West side rooms were slow to cool down in the evening.

Review 73:The staff went beyond expectations. Actually took me to a electrical shop to purchase a plug in for Japan. Rooms beautiful. Bathroom had warm seats on toilets. Staff met every need.

Review 74:Bathroom is a little slippery and no plastic bath mat available despite requested.

Review 75:Location is perfect. Close to major places you want to go. Very convenient. Room is comfortable. Definitely return to stay when in Sapporo.

Review 76:Pillows need a recall. Too soft. Otherwise, everything is perfect. Must start the day with the breakfast on the 35/F.

Review 77:Convenient location to shopping and eating. Great for travelling with young kids where you will find everything under the same roof

Review 78:-The hotel front can not speak english well. - My room's 2709. Ck in 9 Aug, Ck out 10. On 9 Aug at night I called from my room to front desk for Morning call at 5.00 am. Because I had a plan to take a Train at JR about 6.50 am. However, no morning call to my room at all because my friend called me at 6.10 am. and said our group 's ready except me. They were waiting for me. I don't want to complain front desk. I just would like to tell any guests that pls do not trust any morning at this hotel.
