Reviews for Badhu
Review 1:We people from the Nordic countries don't like to share a single bed sheet.
Review 2:Good rooms in your favorite colour, nice, friendly staff, bar & restaurant w. cosy arabic atmosphere and food. Premium Dutch food chain close by (Albert Heyn) for your daily needs..
Review 3:Room wasn't really clean, lot of dust and we saw some spiderwebs. Style was more important than comfort. Bathtub looks nice, but was very unpractical. Water was dripping everywhere and we kept slipping. Room was too dark.
Review 4:The room looked very nice and modern, they've put a lot of effort in making it look nice. They had a Nespresso machine in the room.
Review 5:The rooms are dark, the service is poor and staff not really motivated. When asking for drinks, we were pointed out that the nearest supermarket was only a 2 minutes walk! It is 2x too expensive. STAY AWAY!
Review 6:There is not much to like. It just happens to be close to my School.
Review 7:Loved the apartment, great style, very comfortable for 3. The kitchen has a microwave, fridge, a coffee machine a kettle, tea bags and coffee, and a mini dishwasher. The apartment is very spacey, has 1 bedroom with a double bed and 1 bedroom with twin beds. The bar and restaurant area are great as well. Breakfast is optional, we ordered it and we thought it was good value for 9.50 euros. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel that takes you to the center in a few minutes (3 stops) Its bus nr 1.
Review 8:Very nice boutique hotel not too far from the city centre. Great restaurant. We had the White room and it was really nice clean and comfortable. We will be back for sure.
Review 9:Room was quite hot during the day, but seemed fine at night.
Review 10:I really like purple things so I booked the purple room for that reason! It was great, especially the bathroom. Bed was comfy, slept well, with no noise. There's a terrace out the front overlooking a little park, nice to have a drink in the evening. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Only about 10 mins' walk into town and there are shops just 30 seconds away.
Review 11:The rooms are too hot during summer, and there is no balcony in any of the rooms, meaning that smoking was impossible and you'd have to go downstairs every time for a smoke.
Review 12:The staff were great!
Review 13:It was very hot and the massive windows were hard to fully shade. The street parking is expensive.
Review 14:The appartment was eclectic and deliberately unfinished, as if the builders were just starting their conversion work.
Review 15:The hotel is located above a funky middle eastern restaurant and bar that also serves great food and drinks! The room and bathroom had a very nice modern design, well layed out, good use of space and a nice skylight. There is a bakery and supermarket right next door, and it was a pleasant 15 min walk to the center of town.
Review 16:The bass thumping of music could be felt and heard in room pretty late into the night. The couple next door could easily be heard having "fun"! Not much for sound insulation
Review 17:Very cool room feel modern eclectic and very comfy despite small space. Convenient that a grocery store is just steps away.
Review 18:The room looked liked it could do with a lick of paint in some areas and it was a bit dark in the bathroom.
Review 19:We loved the Arabic-themed decor and the staff went out of their way to be helpful, including entertaining our three-year old.
Review 20:The lightening is very bad, there are a lot of small lights everywhere but you can't see anything, not in the restaurant, not in the hotel room. An other very unpleseant thing is that someone had smoked in the room and it was stinking.
Review 21:Booked it for an Austrian colleague who was visiting. She told me to leave a very good recommendation. She slept very well and said breakfast was as good as dinner :-)
Review 22:Dirty toilet seat with a broken clip. Stained bed linen with crumbs beneath the sheets. Dusty room, noisy at diner time (restaurant on the floor below). Not even a fruit in the "standard" breakfast.
Review 23:Very good restaurant with a pleasant staff on the ground floor.
Review 24:A bit too dark in the bathroom (hard for do make-up); WI-FI connection is not so good in the room.
Review 25:Personallity was very kind. I like the whole idea of design...
Review 26:the lighting thru out the hotel including restaurant area was terrible, simply not practical at all. we had the purple room and we could hardly see what we were doing especially when it came to using the shower and trying to do my makeup. the whole area got flooded when we shower n we needef to use the sgueegy provided each time. just impractical n tacky
Review 27:the restaurant/reception stuff were helpful, the room reasonably clean
Review 28:Breakfast hours -- weekends not before 9 AM is odd and very inconvenient.
Review 29:Friendliness of staff, room, location (near bus stop & supermarket), restaurant.
Review 30:not much access to public transport but nice bike rental place very nearby
Review 31:the breakfast was brilliant and it was nice to have discounted meals at the amazing restaurant! staff were welcoming and helpfu the room was amazing
Review 32:The lighting was very poor to apply makeup. Other than that nothing.
Review 33:Loved everything from the lovely staff to the amazing breakfast. Stayed in the purple room very spacious.
Review 34:There was a problem with the roof in the Blue room. They found a temporary solution for the dripping and offered me a dinner. It didn't rain the next days, but that's something to avoid, off course... :-)
Review 35:the originality of the rooms the excellent food! The nice staff, very friendly and good-looking ;-) the solutions they proposed
Review 36:There was a constant noise in the room, coming from the ventilating system.
Review 37:The restaurant downstairs is the best thing about this establishment. The food & cocktails are amazing! The breakfast was also nice. The hotel + restaurant are decorated very well in an Arabian + modern style, with great eye for detail. In walking distance to the center (20 mins) or by bus (7 mins).
Review 38:Sounds of pipes at night... Maybe from the heaters... I dont know what it was... Something from the building. Not too close to the center.
Review 39:Really good acomodotion. Great bed. Really Big room for NL. Even has a couch. Looks different but in a good way. Has lift, what is really good. You enter the room by the bathroom but dont be afraid. The breakfast is really good!!! There is a supermarket just across the street. And the hotel is kind of inside a bar... Downstair is really cool to chilli out! Loved it! Would go back definitely.
Review 40:It is an idiosyncratic stopping place with its colour-themed rooms and oriental feel. It is about a fifteen minute walk into town which is no problem at all. It is easy to park outside but parking is payable even if it appears not to be ! We thought that the absence of any proof of payment within the windscreen indicated that there was no charge but it was as well that we checked. The car next to ours had just received a 58 euro fine... You type in your registration number and that is logged centrally together with the duration bought (17 euros for 24 hours) and the wardens presumably have this information. Reception was informal and friendly and our purple room was.....purple. It was reasonably roomy and we liked the window seat but the bathroom, though extensive, was impractical with virtually no surface to put anything on and a complete lack of toiletries including soap. We didn't take to the smell on the stairs and in the passage though the room itself was fine. Lighting was not great -especially in the bathroom - but the supplied fan was very useful for window ventilation was limited. The evening meal there was fine - a very busy restaurant - and breakfast, though less copious than some, was also entirely satisfactory and different! We are, I think, unlikely to return to Utrecht (interesting though it is) but, if we did then the Badhu would certainly be on the shortlist.
Review 41:No desk or place to sit with a laptop. Unconfortable bathroom and shower.
Review 42:Close to bus stop. Nice people. Cool ambiance.
Review 43:The opening of the restaurant in the morning is noisy.
Review 44:The restaurant downstarirs is fantastic. Cozy naighbourhood but close to the central area.
Review 45:Sweet place to stay for a change ie not hotel feel
Review 46:Kitchen too small and non-usable for really cooking 5th person needs to sleep in living room Rather pricy
Review 47:Space, shower, location
Review 48:I would really recommand this accomodation!
Review 49:its a bit smaller than what we've expected .
Review 50:The location
Review 51:Location was not clear for first time in Utrecht
Review 52:bad smell in the stairs
Review 53:nice hotel and nice bar-restaurant serving has a reception.
Review 54:Hotel without Heart and Soul
Review 55:Slightly pricey
Review 56:Nice rooms very interesting
Review 57:Room was too hot
Review 58:Price
Review 59:there's no desk to work on in the room
Review 60:spacious, interestingly-designed room, with bathtub
Review 61:Unique boutique hotel. Room was very clean Breakfast was fine.
Review 62:Clumsy staff. Maybe arrogant. Dangerous staircase to the rooms. Dangerous steps in the floor of the room.
Review 63:Nice design. Nice breakfast.
Review 64:Very friendly and careful staff. The Brown room was very nice.
Review 65:not enough beer in the mini bar
Review 66:the bedrooms are superb, very good nights sleep, very well thought out room
Review 67:There could be better noise isolation
Review 68:Interesting concept of colored chambers 15 min walking from the old center (5 with a bike) Eco friendly
Review 69:staff a bit cold and do not care a lot about your whishes
Review 70:Nice hotel with an original decoration, not far from the city center
Review 71:Could do with a little brighter light in the main bedroom.
Review 72:2nd time we have stayed here..previously the silver room and this time the purple room...room was excellent.comfortable bed and all the facilities were provided.Fantastic bathroom.Breakfast very good.We actually ate in the restaurant at night and that was delicious.
Review 73:Because the lighting was in the colour of the room and very low key it was hard to see clearly and I couldn't read anything once it had gone dark. One of the lights was also not working.
Review 74:An unusual, unique style of hotel - rooms decorated in coloured themes. It was nice to experience something a little different to the standard hotel format.
Review 75:Not quite in the city centre.... But only a 10-15 walk. The colour of our room (purple) was a little ott!
Review 76:The rooms are all different... Themed on colours. We had the PURPLE room.... It had some nice design features, such as a basin in the bathroom with a purple light inside and an open wet room. There was a long window the full width of the room, the very wide window sill was was covered with a mattress with cushions at each end..... Great for laying on and looking out of the window.
Review 77:Nothing
Review 78:I5 minutes walk through attractive streets from station. Interesting design throughout and the lunch I had was very good. Quiet neighbourhood. A good night's sleep. Friendly staff. I stayed one night. When I return to Utrecht for a longer period I will try to stay here.
Review 79:We stayed 2 nights, our room and the bathroom were not cleaned though we did get fresh towels. when I pressed the bath plug to empty it a spurt of smelly stagnant water spurted up all over me so I had to have a shower. The different levels in the bathroom were dangerous and I tripped 3 times - I wouldn't go back.
Review 80:Room quite dark (silver room). Didn't like the black plastic bath & washbasin. Breakfast room very shabby & entrance hall too. Needs a make-over.
Review 81:close to the centre, 5 minutes by bike. Breakfast was different, presented eastern style. Restaurant very good. Staff really friendly & helpful. Rooms spacious, coffee & tea in the room free of charge. Lots of tv channels including BBC.
Review 82:No vegan breakfast or anything related. Shame! Electricity in the room didn't work the first night.
Review 83:Workers were very professionals and reliable. The restaurant serves very nice food.
Review 84:Poor service. Small room with no shampoo, soap, etc. breakfast was boring, the only Arabic touches were the bread and yoghurt. Far too much money for what you get.
Review 85:Good ideas
Review 86:Room was not as expexted. If the housekeeping come they knock on your door until you open. No staff from midnight until 8am. No shampoo or hand wash in the bathroom. WiFi is very slow. For sure major work need to be done before I can recommend this "motel"
Review 87:The food was good.
Review 88:Dirty hallway carpet No irnoing or useful laundry nearby Price is a bit high since it is like bed and breakfast hotel but I don't blame owners since only 8 rooms are there...
Review 89:Style is good
Review 90:Per staff (evening) and information in the room, the breakfast starts at 0800 during weekdays. This is already late, but when arriving at 0800, we were informed it did not start till 0815. Since having appointments, we had to skip breakfast. Rooms are well styled, however more on style then on comfort
Review 91:Great (based on arabic food style) restaurant. Really can advise this
Review 92:Not sure we would stay again as we found the room colours quite dark and overpowering.
Review 93:The rooms are starting to look a bit tired and need some painting and some replacement of furnishings, cushions etc. The evening meal we had was excellent and we enjoyed the breakfasts, though maybe you could offer a bit of variation on these. All in all very well placed for our stay and the staff were all very helpful and cheerful! Maybe just a bit slow at delivering drinks in the evening... Many thanks
Review 94:Music of the café clearly present in my room until.11:15 pm. 7.20 € for a Duvel and a small portion of nuts is extremely expensive!
Review 95:The Building and the interior.
Review 96:No private parking
Review 97:Delicious breakfast with a mideastern accent, each room has its own original spirit. Large window sill with a street view. Nespresso machine.
Review 98:It's a walk to the centre of Utrecht but that's not too big problem...
Review 99:Very friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Unique decoration, peculiar layout, massive bath, great shower, very comfortable bed, yummy breakfast and overall a great stay, I'll be back!
Review 100:The noise of the ventilation system did not let me sleep at all. Not a place to rest. The bed was too stif
Review 101:Price, good breakfast and quite a different hotel room experience
Review 102:- Excellent value for money - The breakfast was included and it was delicious, one of the best I've had on my travels in Europe (not the typical croissant and jam!) - The staff was super friendly and accommodating - The rooms were really unique and funky
Review 103:The decor is a bit tired and needs a lick of paint to smarten it up again.
Review 104:The rooms were whacky and fun. Turkish breakfast was lovely with great yogurt and Turkish bread
Review 105:Pretty loud at night when the window Island open!
Review 106:Nice breakfast, nice rooms with a huge cosy bed, rain shower!!!
Review 107:I couldn't connect to the wifi outside my room
Review 108:The entire hotel design! It's awesome. Breakfast is amazing too!
Review 109:Nothing stood out that we did not like.
Review 110:Great place overall for a great price.
Review 111:Room wasn't cleaned all weekend
Review 112:Cool rooms and nice staff, nice breakfast
Review 113:breakfast starts at 9.00 on the weekend - that was a pitty as we had to leave earlier. not typical for a hotel
Review 114:No night porter.
Review 115:Atmosphere, location, something different, value for money.
Review 116:No airconditioning in room; very hot in summer
Review 117:Nice style Good value for money
Review 118:big breakfast, but make sure you have time for it.... (only from 8.15 am being served)!
Review 119:The themes of the rooms, the excellent breakfast.
Review 120:The room design and theme was very original, though the monochromatic environment gave me a bit of a headache!
