Reviews for Hotel Oorsprongpark

Review 1:The price. I was there in january, during a tourism fair, Vakantiebeurs Fair. In my opinion is to expencive for 2 stars hotel. (We are talking in 400€ for 3 nigths)..:/

Review 2:Nice hotel. Easy to go to the city center. Every 5 minutes you can find a bus. Clean and friendly staff.

Review 3:Except for boiled eggs, no cooked food at breakfast. Many things to choose from at breakfast, but nothing changed in the menu for 2 weeks.

Review 4:Nice and safe neighborhood. 10 minutes away from a supermarket. People at the reception really friendly. Room cleaned every day. Room small, but comfortable bed. Very good WiFi. Really OK for the money paid.

Review 5:Same remark as for many similar old Dutch hotels: rooms are on the small side (were not always en suite) and the price/quality ratio isn't very good.

Review 6:Old hotel, quite beautiful, wonderful breakfast room (view on the "gracht"), breakfast good value for money, staff friendly and knowledgeable. Quite a walk from the city centre but good bus connections, and lots of interesting restaurants and bars on the way to the hotel should you decide to hoof it.

Review 7:125 euros for a tiny 'double' bed, a shower without a shower head is in my opinion ridiculous.

Review 8:The location is very good, nearby everything and with perfect bus connections to the city centre/station etc.

Review 9:Old building with old furniture and old TV!

Review 10:Window scene was beautiful. The apple basket at the entry was lovely idea. They kept my bike in the reception area for 2 days.

Review 11:The room was very small, and also the bed was quite small. The staff request me to pay all the nights just at the arrival, quite unusual for an hotel. Other things were ok.

Review 12:Good position with respect to city center. Good breakfast.

Review 13:The stairs are very steep but I only had to go up one floor.

Review 14:Ideal position between city centre and University where I was visiting. Lovely street and canal side breakfast room. 40 m from major bus route with excellent service. Excellent restaurant on the corner. Very happy with the breakfast. Not a flash hotel but for middle of the road, very friendly, helpful, clean and rooms more than adequate. Very good value. I would stay again without a second thought.

Review 15:Radiator needed bleeding as there was no heat in the room. That was sorted pretty quickly. Light above bed didn't work.

Review 16:Helpful staff, clean room, attractive traditional building.

Review 17:Bed was very soft

Review 18:Located in a nice neighbourhood. Although its a 20/25 min walk from the centre its a lovely walk with lots of good cafes/bars/restaurants end route

Review 19:Room interior felt very old, dusty, bathroom very small, breakfast not included, parking is a disaster it cost €17 per day on street

Review 20:Hotel was within reasonable walking distance of city centre, wifi good, good value for money for Utrecht standards

Review 21:No kettle in the room, very basic showerhead attached to the wall made showering uncomfortable. Shower cubicle did not have heating and was quite cold.

Review 22:Clean and tidy, free coffee/tee in reception, comfortable bed. Excellent location: quiet and beautiful.

Review 23:Big price for services offered. Torn sheets. Dangerous stairs to climb and descend. Old furniture. Small room even smaller than a dorm room.

Review 24:Location only 2 km from the center.

Review 25:The staff needs to stop trying to clean the room with me in it, sleeping, at 11 AM, tired, with a locked door and DND sign.

Review 26:The room was cosy, warm and with that balcony felt like a niche place to spend your nights. Calm neighborhood which will ensure you get that needed sleep after that allnighter party.

Review 27:i got bedbugs bite in this hotel. they need to clean hard more. i text about it for this hoel, but they didnt responce to me yet.

Review 28:stuff were so kind, nice location. free coffee was so nice.

Review 29:No real bad experience; worked out fine. But I did not like the steep staircase to the first ( in US: second ) floor of the building next door where my room was! Would have been nice to get some breakfast but there was free coffee and some "snijkoek", which I appreciated and was nice.

Review 30:Good location; friendly and helpful staff. Pleasant room. Quiet street, buses nearby.

Review 31:We asked for a later than stated check in and it wasn't a problem. They were very pleasant and helpful. Rooms are small and basic but more than adequate for a short stay.

Review 32:The room was very very dirty. There were a lot of dust and spiders in each corner and the cleaning service was horrible.I had to stay there for a month, while I was looking for an appartment, and the price was really high to be in those conditiones.

Review 33:See above.

Review 34:This was not a good hotel. Bedroom was like a cell. Mattress was terribly uncomfortable. No bath, just a shower. No ledge for soap or shampoos to be used in the shower. Shower head not detachable. Wardrobe rack fell down if too many items put on it as only attached to the sides by pressure. We only found out at the end of the trip that we'd actually been booked into a single room when it came to pay. No-one had bothered to tell us during our stay. We had asked for a double room. No tea or coffee in the rooms as promised on the website. You had to trek downstairs for the coffee machine (which was free). An iron could only be obtained from Reception and was often being used by others. You also paid extra for breakfast.

Review 35:Breakfast is minimal. The hotel smells of old stuff.

Review 36:Good location not too far from the center, close to a bus station and 1 restaurant. A basic hotel, not too expensive for Utrecht prices. I could stay there again.

Review 37:Shower could do with an update, but that was only a small detail.

Review 38:Had bbc in the room :D bed very comfortable and a very nice breakfast. Very impressed and would recommend, close to Utrecht University campus and walk to centre is ~20 minutes but is perfectly straight so no worries.

Review 39:Whilst booking the room I was given the impression I was going to be staying in a canal/garden view room. I was in the basement LOL All in all I booked during the tour the france - prices were jacked up.

Review 40:Friendly staff, but perhaps that because they knew they had put me in the basement !

Review 41:Stairs to rooms are fairly treacherous and layout was slightly strange. bathroom was very small but adequate and clean.

Review 42:Nice frontage in a quiet street, close to restaurant / bar on street corner. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok, fairly basic but reasonable for €7. Nice large window in room and shower was great.

Review 43:Reception talked to us but didn't look up, not sure if he was shy or rude. The building is a little dated and some rooms were in the damp smelling basement. No air-con.

Review 44:Nice location, good price, clean, great city.

Review 45:Older building with very steep stairs and no lift. Carrying luggage up did not feel safe. Small attic room with no aircon or even a fan. Window opened over river so insects were a problem. Hot or bitten?

Review 46:Nice bed Helpful staff Free hot drinks Lovely view of garden and river

Review 47:Only complaints really were that the bathroom was very small - shower only, no bath - and wifi was poor, but these were minor points. Also would have been nice to get access to the garden from our basement room without having to go out into the street to get back into the reception area of the hotel.

Review 48:Our room was plenty big enough for three grown ups, offering a degree of privacy for 19 year old daughter whose bed was in a little nook of the room. Very quiet, with a nice view over the garden and canal beyond. Breakfast wasn't included but it was reasonably priced and with a good choice - unless you were after full English. We weren't. Good location for us visiting son at University College and well connected to the city centre by bus. Close to Kust restaurant too, which is definitely a plus!

Review 49:The location might seem far, but walking to it was the best way to explore Utrecht. If you don't like walking it's only a short bus ride away.

Review 50:No fuss no hastle just pleasant easy hotel. Spotlessly clean. Nice reception with complimentary fruit, coffee, sweets and cake. Late keys and bicycle hire was lovely place to stay in a good location not far away from cafés and bars and beautiful green areas. Easy to get to from central station on 28 bus just 5 or so minutrs

Review 51:The pillow was really uncomfortable -- funny how such a little thing like that can make it impossible to sleep.

Review 52:Very good location, nice staff, wifi is included, rooms were cleaned well.

Review 53:Room was filthly, dust everywhere and the small table in the room was sticking from other guest.

Review 54:The location is good, 50 m from bus stop which will take you to the city centre and close to beautifull parks.

Review 55:Uncomfortable beds - tiny squashy single beds pushed together with several trips out of bed down the middle for me when they separated in the night - I think they might have been on wheels!

Review 56:the location was ok

Review 57:The bathroom of my room needed renovation. You had the feeling that it was dirty, even if it was cleaned. Also a little expensive in my opinion.

Review 58:Friendly staff, good wifi, free parking for my motorcycle, small room, but enough for one person.

Review 59:Just a very basic room and no lift so we had to haul our suitcases up a very steep stairs

Review 60:Location near center of town. And we had bikes to rent there :))

Review 61:The room and hotel felt dated. For the price you would expect something that is cleaner, newer, and more comfortable. It wasn't terrible, it just wasn't good.

Review 62:The location was fine (at the end of the 'Maliebaan'). It is also very nice that you can hear what the neighboring room is doing. I also liked that they had a room available.

Review 63:Typical Dutch steep staircases. The room is rather small. And the bathroom is a bit inconvenient.

Review 64:Within a waking distance to the attractions. Helpful staff. Public parking nearby. Average breakfast.

Review 65:- room was unclean, stains in sheets and carpets, sink blocked - no glasses etc in the room

Review 66:- near bus stop - kind staff, even carrying our luggage those steep stairs (proactive) and advising us where to find bikes we needed - nice view to the garden and canal - selection of honeys and fresh bread - coffee room is a good place to meet other guests - bed was excellent

Review 67:The stairs were so many and one stair wouldn't fit two feet at once. Also a bit unstable.

Review 68:The bed was so comfortable, I didn't want to wake in the morning. Also there was free wifi and it was strong (Y)

Review 69:The rooms need urgent renovation. Dangerous steep staircase.no tea coffee facilities in the room. Only at the reception desk. Not 3* standard

Review 70:Staff was helpful and friendly. Quite clean and quiet even though we had a room with a view to the street.

Review 71:Clean room with a shower that worked perfectly. Approximately 20 minutes to walk to Utrecht Town Center but it was a nice location and enjoyed the walk with plenty of stores along the way.

Review 72:No bad experience but it would have been better to have similar rooms to avoid one couple being a bit disappointed with their room (small). We had 3 rooms - One was a good size, one medium and one small for the same price.

Review 73:Good location, nice and helpful staff, good breakfast and decent price for Utrecht.

Review 74:- bathroom much too small - breakfast ridiculous, especially for the prize, a 1 star hotel even has more variety - Wifi not available in every room, I had to change single room to double room to get connected

Review 75:- close to city - staff very kind and helpful

Review 76:Nothing

Review 77:Great location, close enough to town but just far enough out to be quiet. Nice area and bus stop outside where every bus goes to the City center and train station, otherwise 15 mins walk. Helpful, friendly staff. Basic rooms but very clean. Excellent value for money in a City where hotels are generally expensive.

Review 78:The double rooms don't offer double beds, it's just two single beds, which is inconvenient for couples. Location-wise, the city center is about 20 minutes walk, the train station is 25 minutes.

Review 79:Excellent free WiFi, clean and comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, cheap.

Review 80:very steep staircase, which was not a problem for me, but might be a problem for elderly people or if you have a lot of luggage.

Review 81:great location, good value for money. loved the free coffee and tea supply, friendly staff.

Review 82:Shower was a little dated and small. Bed was a little small (but we were warned).

Review 83:Great location, a nice 15 min walk from downtown. Quiet room, a little bigger than expected and nicely decorated. Great free wi-fi. Free tea, coffee and gingerbread, even without the breakfast option.

Review 84:For the value of money you cannot really say what was not good. Maybe better quality of soap and shampoo.

Review 85:Everything was simple and nice. Beds were good. Everything was clean

Review 86:The building is full of nooks and crannies and the stairs are steep and long, so it took me some time to find my room and get my luggage up there. Moreover, the hotel is located quite far from the city centre or the museums. Although the bus stop is so close, for a sightseeing trip I usually prefer to stay closer to the centre.

Review 87:I enjoyed my one night's stay at this hotel, because it was absolutely clean and quiet. My single room was quite big, and very pretty with nice furniture and pleasant features. The wifi worked very well. The bus stop is very close, just around the corner, so you can catch a bus to the city centre and the train station.

Review 88:Cleaners wake you up around 10:00 even in the weekend. The bed sheets were stained. Some of the staff are a bit curt, others are more friendly. Nasty smell in the bathroom.

Review 89:The hotel is located close to the city centre at 15 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride. The double room is basic but fine, with a small double bed. Breakfast area is light with nice view at the back garden.

Review 90:Steep stairway to get up to rooms, quite scary even. Found the price quite high for accomodation.

Review 91:Coffee available free at all times. Great breakfast. Beautiful setting next to a canal and nearby park.

Review 92:If you bring a heavy luggage with you, then it can be difficult to climb the stairs.

Review 93:A really quiet place to stay with a good breakfast. It is very well connected both to city center and the univeversity.

Review 94:Room a bit small, especially the bathroom. The wifi was also sometimes fiddly. No tea/coffee in room but there is some available beside the reception.

Review 95:View on the canal and the Dom tower from our room. Nice staff. Cosy. Away from the busy city centre but still walking distance. Nice neighbourhood.

Review 96:What we did not like that much was the fact that the room had a funny smell when we got there.

Review 97:We loved the location of the hotel, so close to the City Center And trainstation also. We especially liked the backyard. Also the service was nice, they served bio food and it was a good, large breakfast. All in all we liked the hotel and the service and we recommand it for a budget trip. We hope to visit it again some time.

Review 98:Bathroom was very small, but managable.

Review 99:I had a nice room with a 'green' view and no city noise. Good (continental) breakfast with lots of choice.

Review 100:I was in here in October. The room was very quiet with the window closed, but the room soon became very hot and stuffy. When window was opened for ventilation, it became somewhat noisy from mopeds and people outside. Wouldn't recommend this hotel for elderly people, as very narrow steep steps to climb to the rooms

Review 101:Close to city center, very comfortable bed, gorgeous breakfast dining area, good breakfast. The dingle room was perfect for one person, tiny but cosy. Internet worked well

Review 102:Not applicable.

Review 103:Cool vintage hotel with real Dutch staircases and efficient use of space in terms of built in furniture in the room. Ducks floating by on the small canal during breakfast. Good coffee. Easy access (around the corner) to bus stop. Efficient bus system. Easy ride to the center of town by bike.

Review 104:Stairs too steep, smoke smell everywhere, needed a coat of paint and a clean. If it cost 50 euros or less it would be fine but at 77 euros it was far too expensive for what it was.

Review 105:Location was good, it was clean.

Review 106:The bathroom floor and the floor just outside the entry were rotted through! We felt like we would fall through the floor boards at any time! The room smelled a bit like mildew. The hotel is not close to the central area....a bit out of the way.

Review 107:Good size room

Review 108:Good value for money for the location. We had a room with a view overlooking the canal to the rear of the building. Within walking distance of historic town centre and facilities, located in a very genteel street - perfect for the weekend stopover.

Review 109:room was small, there were no facilities, breakfast was poor value for money, made the mistake of having breakfast which was 7euros but only on the first morning, found a lovely cafe just 5 min walk

Review 110:bed was comfortable

Review 111:Feels little different from a hostel in terms of the room decor. Zero wifi connectivity in the hotel room. The hotel reception is not 24 hours but there's no warning when handing over the large key fob in the morning. Very thin doors so you hear everybody passing by, in & out of their rooms in the narrow corridors.

Review 112:The bed was comfortable.

Review 113:Horrible staff. Didnt move a finger to help two girls with huge luggage. Did everything for us like they are doing some big favor. Poor cleaning. Price doesnt match the quality. Wifi is bad.. I have stayed in two rooms and in both it didnt work out. You are better with your 3g.

Review 114:even so, its whats cheaper in here.

Review 115:Steep stairs that may be a problem for less able guests with language.

Review 116:Friendly atmosphere, cozy and clean rooms, tasty breakfast and convenient bike rental service.

Review 117:I think people choose this hotel with basic expectations and having a clean room is at the top of this list. However, this hotel is not clean enough; there were some human bodyhairs on blankets most probably dropped by housekeeper. Also the bathroom was not clean and we tried not to use it as much as we could.

Review 118:Location of hotel, size of the room (basic double room) are good points.

Review 119:Slightly further to walk than anticipated, but in the grand scheme of things that was a minor. It's a beautiful area so it didn't matter.

Review 120:Lovely little view in the room. Beds were comfortable, decent wi-fi, shower done the trick and quiet. On a lovely little quiet street as well. Rooms cool even though no a/c, as sleep with the window open (no noise). Great value for money, highly recommended.

Review 121:The bathroom is small but good value for money.

Review 122:Relatively quiet location. Very comfortable and scenic. A small cannel running in front of my room. Very green view. Good restaurants and supermarket closeby. A few steps from the bus station.

Review 123:Lack of a/c; on a hot day it can get quite stuffy in the room. Also, stairs can be a challenge for people with a lot of luggage

Review 124:It's very well located - 15 min of walking from the very centre, in a quiet neighborhood; the bus stop is 2 min away! My single room was tiny, but big enough not to feel claustrophobic)) a nice touch - free tea/coffee any time of the day.

Review 125:The location is brilliant - an easy walk into the centre or a frequent bus service. Good to hire bikes and be near to the parks. Nearby restaurant had good quality food and friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again.

Review 126:the rooms are tiny. In summer the entire upper (2nd) floor of the hotel is getting hot. Air-condition is not available.

Review 127:the rooms are clean. Breakfast is sufficient. A major bus stop is available around the corner.

Review 128:The room was rather small, had a quite unpleasant smell (of an old building).

Review 129:Great location, quiet, the bed was comfortable.

Review 130:Small room.

Review 131:Nice breakfast and location.

Review 132:The hotel is a little noisy.

Review 133:Great central location, good value for money

Review 134:Room small, but it was comfortable

Review 135:Charming small hotel, clean and comfortable. Easy to get bus to town and station

Review 136:Small room and bathroom. single beds buted together made up as two singles. Other than that ok

Review 137:Rooms tired and musty

Review 138:Location near bus stop

Review 139:The receptionist asked the payment of the entire stay immediately upon arrival - this was not the case with my previous stays.

Review 140:Flawless wi-fi

Review 141:Friendly staff, clean room, peaceful neighborhood.
