Reviews for BEST WESTERN Hotel Nagoya
Review 1:A strategic location. Easy to find, just looking to Starbucks and you will not get lost. The room also suitable for 3 persons, very convenient and best deal for family pack and travelers like us. Looking forward that every hotels in Japan has a same offers like best westren did.
Review 2:Room a bit small but acceptable at this price with bf. No self car park and have to park at liaison parking for 2100yen / night seems expensive in compare to Tokyu Nagoya.
Review 3:Room is clean and tidy, bed is comfortable ,keeping the standard of Best Western. Location is good just minutes walking from major shopping area.Staff are friendly and helpful, thank you for your help during my stay. The Japanese breakfast is excellent for me and my family which bring this hotel to the top of my list on visiting Nagoya :)
Review 4:- Not near to JR station. From Nagoya station, need to take the subway to Sakae, and there are limited lift in the Sakae area. Not good for tourist with many and big luggages as you will often have to take the staircase.
Review 5:- Starbuck is just located at the ground floor. - Nearby amenities like convenient stores, cafe, famous fried chicken and shopping centres. - The twin bed is good enough for small family (2 adults and 1 children). - Specifically like the odour spray that the hotel provided to guest. It is aroma and caring.
Review 6:Our room toilet smelled so bad. They changed the room for us, but it would be better if they check the room first.(And we have to move the luggage to the new room by ourselves.) Also, they don't have restaurant booking service like other hotels.
Review 7:The location and Starbucks
Review 8:Good location. Staff are extremely helpful they helped me to book restaurant. The taxi services is exceptionally good! The driver are very professional and helpful!
Review 9:The hotel staff has quite poor English skills. I'm not sure if it could be considered as the obstacle in providing a good service.
Review 10:Facilities nearby the hotel: restaurant, convenient stores, shopping mall
Review 11:the room is very small, the hotel said already upgrade the room, but double bedroom still very small, just like not to upgrade.
Review 12:The location is very good, near subway, many shops and restaurants
Review 13:If you are coming from Nagoya station to reach Sakae via the subway, there are various parts where you have to carry all your luggage up and down stairs. But once you are in Sakae, the hotel is a convenient place to be based.
Review 14:The aircon isn't that good but we asked for a fan and got it.
Review 15:Room not really clean. Facility a bit old. Room a bit small.
Review 16:Near metro station (5mins by walking) Many restaurant near by, and the restaurant open till mid-night.
Review 17:Breakfast was not included, and cost JPY1,300 per person, which is a little bit expensive. Starbucks is just on the ground floor, breakfast there will be cheaper.
Review 18:Pretty good location, just about 3 min walk to underground station Sakae. Room's clean and comfortable. Great staff at front dest. She's explained almost everything I was interest, including the questions those was alread answered through email.
Review 19:This visit the wifi was not working well but they do warn you!
Review 20:Location, staff and Starbucks on the ground floor for Al fresco breakfast! It's very nice to enter the lobby and take the elevator direct to one's own floor. We have stayed there six times and look forward to returning.
Review 21:English speaking staff at reception is not enough. It creates misunderstanding.
Review 22:Location is very convenient to access the sightseeing and shopping areas.
Review 23:Very small room but this is normal for Japan. Breakfast buffet from in-house Japanese restaurant was forgettable.
Review 24:Staff were always happy to help. Very good location about 300-400 meters from subway station. Clean room. A number of restaurants & coffee shops nearby. Decent & safe neighborhood. Good wi-fi connection. Airport shuttle stops next door.
Review 25:The toilets had a constant stench. The key card holder kept falling off and knocking the power off to our room.
Review 26:The Starbucks and the fact that it was close to the subway and shopping.
Review 27:Bed feels like it has got lots of bed bugs. My whole body felt itchy after just laying on bed. Seems like this hotel rarely washes its blankets either, appeared filthy. The bed sheets are really thin as well that you can almost feel the springs of the mattress! Don't stay here
Review 28:The location is relatively convenient
Review 29:Not applicable
Review 30:Location. Accessible to several convenient stores, high-end shopping stores, subway station, restaurants. Very good staff, from the front desk to the cleaning personnel. Nearby drop off and pick up point for Centrair Meitetsu airport transport.
Review 31:rooms and bed were a little old, but for the money it was a great value.
Review 32:Great location a few blocks walk from Central Park and Sakae shopping district, TV tower etc... Plenty of small restaurants close by.
Review 33:Price is a bit over-high during peak season, the breakfast is a bit simple as charged additionally.
Review 34:Close to Nagoya downtown and walking distance to several sightseeing spots. The interior deco of the lobby is friendly.
Review 35:Not easy to find bus station for buses to Nagoya eki. If you need to take transportation to the airport , it will be a bit difficult - there is shuttle bus to airport directly but only available for 4 time frames.
Review 36:Nice accommodation with big bathroom. Nice location in Sakae for visiting this area.
Review 37:Room is quite small, bed too soft
Review 38:Located quite near sakae subway, airport bus stops at a hotel next door, booked a standard room and was pleasantly surprised to be given a free upgrade to superior room
Review 39:Room was a little warm. Wi-Fi for phone disconnects at times. But happy with the stay.
Review 40:Restaurant for breakfast (Japanese menu) excellent buffet called "Shima"
Review 41:Room and Facilities are too small and old with international chain Hotel's map not clear about exit of subway and direction
Review 42:Location : about 10 mins walking from subway station, on main road and convenience for minimart and starbucks Staff : very welcome and helpful
Review 43:I saw this hotel on booking.com, there is a family room and it has 1 double bed and 1 soda bed in the picture so I thought the room is for 3 persons but when i checked in the hotel, receptionist told me the room is for 2 persons only. In fact, we have 4 persons so i gotto pay for extra charge for 1 pax. But why the sofa bed is not include in the package? I felt stupid and i am not really happy with it.
Review 44:The location is nice, it's close to most of the tourist spots. And, the hotel is not far from Sakae sta. Exit 12.
Review 45:There wasn't enough space to put a 28 inch luggage as the rack they had was only for a carry on.
Review 46:Loved the heated toilet seat and even if the room was a bit tight all the amenities were there such as a lot of bath hooks.
Review 47:We booked a family room that should come wif two double beds but the sizes are different. The smaller bed is a sofa bed and not comfortable at all. The room temperature is centralized controlled and we cant change it. It was just too warm at night n we are asked to turned off the AC to let the air outside flew in. N we hv to open the door to at least feel bit cooler!! Not a pleasant stay.
Review 48:The location is pretty ideal.
Review 49:This hotel was a bit further away from the train station than we expected and we had to go through a pedestrian tunnel under the road - which was a bit hard carrying suitcases up and down a couple of flights of stairs. The hotel itself is tucked away a little from the road and was a bit hard to spot - we thought we had missed it, but finally found it. Once we found it, we had a great experience.
Review 50:Comfortable bed, plenty of space, great location
Review 51:1. Lighting in room is dim. Should have flourescent light. 2. Tv channel all in japaneese.
Review 52:1.location...everything within reach - transport, shopping, dining and most convenient is the air port limousine bust stop just next door. 2. Comfort of the room, even though furnitures in room are outdated. 3. Clean hotel.
Review 53:1. Booked family room for my 3 sons and was charged additional fees upon checking in. 2. Family room too small for 3 adults. 3. Security : anyone can access the hotel floors from the ground floor lift without card.
Review 54:1. Location: short walk from Sakae station & limo bus to Chubu Airport. 2. Quiet 3. We were provided a stand fan in each room due to the aircon not working. 4. The front desk staff spoke excellent English & were very helpful.
Review 55:first night of our stay , the staff is giving us a smoking room which really stinks to high heaven. We complain and we were given another room. It's quite a hassle waiting for the staff to act on our request.
Review 56:location
Review 57:it did not show in my Google Map. so it took us a while to find it at end. a little far from subway station and specially you have a suitcase
Review 58:the coffee shop is at first floor and shopping and eating is very convenience. The room is small for 2 bed, really just for sleep.
Review 59:the hotel is located 2-3 blocks from the subway station, which is only 2 stations from the main nagoya train station. shopping is within walking distance. food is offered nearby restaurants. cafes and convenient stores are within reach.
Review 60:it is good that the hotel is located a few blocks away from a subway station and it is also just 2 stations away from the main nagoya station which connects all trains and subways. its away from all the noises at night hence you can rest well at night.
Review 61:1. The WiFi connection was not stable enough. 2. The room wasn't cleaned properly (some hairs still left in the bathroom). 3. The hand soap was run out on the second day of our stay but the staff forgot to refill in, this can be considered ad VERY CARELESS per Japansese standard hospitality.
Review 62:1. Great location - close to many restaurants/convenience stores and reasonable walking distance from Sakae station. 2. English ability - The staffs in the front desk do speak good English.
Review 63:service personnell was not enough at breakfast, there were too many guest and personnell could not keep up the work resulting in empty dishes at the buffet which were not filled quickly again
Review 64:location is good, very close to the Nagoya Tower and very close to bus and subway for getting to other sightseeing attractions
Review 65:We had an occasion or two in which the staff person had a hard time understanding English, even when spoken deliberately and slowly. We got through it okay, though, and got what we wanted. We had to ask to have the shower curtain changed because it smelled bad. This is a common problem in hotels, so the Best Western is not the Lone Ranger in having this problem. The change was made promptly.
Review 66:The hotel is centrally located, 3 blocks from the Sakae subway station, with larger than average size rooms for Nagoya. The staff is friendly and responsive, and everything is neat and clean. Wifi worked very well, and the breakfast provided in the basement was good, but not impressive. We took to eating breakfast across the street at Mrs. Heart, where the pancakes are right up to American standards, and are cheaper than the hotel fare.
Review 67:1. Very far from JR Nagoya Station; You need to take the subway to the hotel; it took us a long time to find it. 2. No breakfast
