Review 1:Nothing!!
Review 2:Stunning view from the room with private hotspring. The quality of the shampoo, shower gel and conditioner is so so so good!! Awesome scent. The dinner was of very high quality. Fresh Sashimi and special japanese dishes. We were very surprised and pleased.

Review 4:I love everything at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and very nice. The food was excellent. Facility is very clean and welcoming. I will definitely come back and recommend anyone who want to experience Ryokan type of hotel to try this hotel...
Review 5:Not one single thing wrong with this hotel.
Review 6:From the time I've entered the ryokan to leaving, it was the most enjoyable and wonderful experience I've ever had. The staff is on its own level, they're kind, helpful, and attentive. Request for the shuttle because the hotel is up in the mountain and about 30 minutes walking from the Atami station. The shuttle, which was a private car played beautiful music - the drive was scenic, arriving there I was greeted by two women in yukata who took my bags and offered to take my photo in front of the hotel. The room was traditional, the wifi strong, I selected the optional dinner (you should too - it was 7 courses of amazing). The breakfast that comes along is large and plentiful. I immediately got full. You will get your money's worth and above all, enjoy an amazing view of the city. The onsen is perfect temperature. I was able to wake up early and watch the sunrise over the sea. If you're going to splurge on one hotel - make it this one.
Review 7:The staff were very accommodating and attentive. The place was very relaxing and offered a unique experience. The food was very well presented and was very delicious.
Review 8:Breakfast - a traditional Japanese breakfast would be great if you like fish. I'm not a fish eater. It was wonderfully presented and looked great.
Review 9:What a wonderful traditional Japanese experience. From the time you check in until the time you check out the staff was wonderful. The room was nice and big and the view was amazing! The private hot baths on the deck was the best. It was easy to get to - just a short taxi ride from the train station.
Review 10:It is a silly thing to complain about, but they served an obscene amount of food. Wanting to try everything left us ill from being full
Review 11:We stayed in their largest room of 7 and it was an accommodation straight out of a magazine. The view was spectacular. Everything was clean and tastefully decorated. The staff was spectacular and well coordinated. While their English was limited, they let you know this up front, and there version of limited English was enough to accommodate all our needs.
Review 12:No shuttle bus service (they kept repeating that the reservation was full even though I stayed there two nights) to and from Atami station, which cost us lots of Taxi fees.
Review 13:Great view and private outdoor hot springs attached to room
Review 14:Let me make it clear, it is not the cheapest boutique onsen hotel youcan find. But for the quality of services they provide, I would considerit as "not expensive".Now, what would you get with that price? How about private hot spring -- every room has one, and the view I gotten from my room WAS STUNNING!! And did I mention it's a private hot spring? That means, I could go at any time I want -- waking up at 4am? Go right in. Cannot sleep at 2am? Go right in. Has nothing to do between breakfast and lunch? Go right in. And, nobody will bother you. Want a bigger hot spring tub? They have 2 private hot springs at the lower level. The views, however, weren't as good as my room, so I just went there to check them out. You were supposed to sign up for your own time slot, but after 10pm, nobody would go there and it's first-time first-serve at that time. The food is simply AMAZING. Kaiseki cuisine, however, is never about the portion size. So, some travelers might find that there are not enough food for even their tooth, let alone their stomach. But hey, this is one way to appreciate the philosophy of Japanese cuisine -- it's about quality, not quantity. And trust me, if you are a normal healthy person, the portion is enough for most people. You just might eat too much the past, and this is the time to rethink your eating habit. As for the staffs, the best word to describe is "EXCELLENT" -- English may not be their strength, but they make it us with giving their heart into serving you. If you feel that you are not satisfied, may be you should calm down and look inside yourself -- are you the cause of the problem?
Review 15:Nothing.
Review 16:The service was impeccable. The traditional Japanese hospitality made us feel like we were simultaneously at home but also in an exclusive five-star resort. Both meals were excellent and presented beautifully in an intimate, sea-facing booth in the dining room. The room itself was wonderfully designed, but the real feature was, of course, the private outdoor bath. Talk about decadent! If you're hesitating about booking, like I was for a few weeks, don't. This was one of the best experiences we had in all of Japan, and it's super convenient for the Tokyo-Kyoto shinkansen. What's not to love?
Review 17:We liked everything :) There is a private hot bath in your balcony, room we took was completely Japanese style, the staff is incredibly nice, you are also able to book the common baths ...
Review 18:This is a boutique ryokan with only 7 rooms, each with a private rotenburo (open air bath) and with larger private baths that can be booked if you wish. It's located on one of the mountainsides overlooking Atami bay so is in a nice quiet area compared to ones in the town - but this does make it a little isolated if you're intending on site seeing in Atami itself. They provide a free transfer service between Atami station (which is about an hour by Shinkansen from Tokyo) and the ryokan so getting there is very easy. The evening meal we had was one of the best I've ever had in Japan (and I've been visiting regularly since I was a child so have had quite a few!). The dishes were imaginative and beautifully presented, with fresh and seasonal ingredients. The breakfast was of a similarly high quality. The service was also excellent. All staff members were helpful, attentive, and friendly, making us feel very welcome. If I return to Atami I'll certainly be booking a stay here again.
Review 19:We went to Watei Kazekomichi to experience hot spring baths while in Tokyo for my birthday. We chose this location because of the private bath with each room, the Japanese style rooms, and the close proximity to Tokyo (a bit less than an hour by bullet train). The service staffs, including Narita, were incredibly accommodating. We speak no Japanese and were able to communicate with them in English. They picked us up at the train station (free of charge), helped with taking off our shoes on arrival, and prepared our room including taking down our bags while we enjoyed a beautiful view in the lounge. Each room has a private hot spring bath, but they also arranged for us to have a private 45 minutes in their larger hot springs (we didn’t even have to ask). Narita remembered that it was my birthday and they gave me a lovely imabari towel set as a gift. The room was BEAUTIFUL! Our private hot spring bath was on the porch (private as well) with a gorgeous view of the bamboo and cherry blossom trees, as well as the city and ocean. I loved soaking in our private hot spring and taking in this view. They provided lounging clothes and I got to choose my yukata. The whole experience was very special. We only got to spend 1 night here, but it was my favorite experience in Tokyo and I would definitely stay again. Thank you to Narita and the rest of the staff at Watei Kazekomichi for the great experience!
Review 20:We love the authenticity of the hotel, the rustic environment, and the friendliness of the staff and people. If you are looking for a chain hotel service or a chain hotel environment, then this hotel is not for you. But if you want to experience how people live a few hundred years ago, then this is the place.
Review 21:Location. Had to get a taxi to go into town for food and shopping. Not exactly possible to walk with luggage unless you like to hike.
Review 22:The fantastic view and private onsen.
Review 23:Awesome friendly staff, nice room, great view and in-room hot spring. Everything is perfect about this hotel, worth every penny I have spent.
Review 24:The staff was fantastic. The private bath was great.
Review 25:Staff are friendly. Dinner and breakfast are very good quality, real Japanese experience
Review 26:The feel of nature!
Review 27:high privacy, very good service
Review 28:private hot spring baths - a wonderful extra
Review 29:Wonderful Ryokan with really good food
Review 30:Not a cheap one but perfect experience in total! Also nice view from the room!
