Reviews for Villa Björkhagen

Review 1:Limited check in hours, they can make arrangements for arrival after 8pm but don't like to. Bedding is now old and tired and needs replaced. Heating seems to be constantly on maximum with no adjustment.

Review 2:The location is perfect for Elmia convention centre. The cabins are great value compared to other on site accommodation. I will keep going back unless the Scandic becomes affordable! The free wifi was quick and worked well.

Review 3:* Pretty basic. Dont expect a long super shower. * Semi-hard beds

Review 4:* Great cottage! Small kitchenette, four beds (bunk beds) and a small bathroom (toilet + shower) * Good food and breakfast * Quiet and nice

Review 5:It is a camping site, "close" to water but you are 20 meters above the lake, and there is no way to get close to the water. A lot of trees along the lake and you can hardly enjoy the view of the lake.

Review 6:The breakfast is good. Free WiFi, free parking.

Review 7:The Accommodation was in a great location, close to a wonderful town with very friendly helpful staff. Scenic area with wonderful town centre and entertainment.

Review 8:Mosquitos on the way to the lake, no pancakes for breakfast. Jokes aside, nothing to complain about!

Review 9:The location is wonderful, of course a nice summer day helps enjoying it. Fairly good food as well.

Review 10:a Drive to the place was quite difficult with GPS, cause of changed roads.

Review 11:Just ordinary camping. But, there is own foodmarket which was very good. And the breakfast, of course, was excellent. Cabin was very good, also.

Review 12:Air in the cabin was smelly. There was mold between the walls ties in the bathroom. Hanging electric wires looked like unsafe.

Review 13:Location was good. Nice camping area and water close.

Review 14:- A little too expensive in my opinion - The gate is closed between 23h (?) and 6h, which we weren't informed about. So we left with our car and weren't able to come back in. Sure we should have looked at the camping information before, but I think that's something they could have told us at the check-in.

Review 15:We stayed in an Economy Cottage + Quite clean + Beautiful landscape + Good WiFi + Small kitchen + Small supermarket on camping area + Easy check-in and check-out + Not too crowded (we we're there in July)

Review 16:Everything. We booked two nights in one of the cabins but when we arrived and saw that they were basically in a trailer park we wanted to cancel the second night but they already took the money prior to arrival and refused a refund. The picture on booking.com did not reflect the location. We stayed in cabin 21 and it looked old and neglected. The mattress had seen better days a long time ago and had practically a dip in the middle. The beds were bunk beds with one bigger bunk for two people. We left the next morning despite having paid for two nights

Review 17:There is a very nice swimming /leisure park nearby

Review 18:There is a camping area near the Villa, it ruins the scenery a bit, but the price and everything else is just perfect (camping area too, if you are interested) so we had a really nice stay.

Review 19:Villa is situated on the one of the highest scarps near the lake Vattern so the view is really stunning. As Jonkoping is in the southern end of oblong Vattern one can see no end of the lake - it looks like infinite sea. The feel is actually the same. Great impression even in winter.

Review 20:Reception didn't reply to several attempts to contact through booking.com - call them and you'll get an immediate answer.

Review 21:I booked a budget cabin for 4 persons and expected it to be tiny, it was ample for what we needed! The bottom bunks are a little wider than a single bed for stretching room. The staff were accommodating of our late arrival

Review 22:The bed clothes smelled of dirty feet and were very unpleasant.

Review 23:The location is pretty good, with a pleasant walk around a walking track. The general facilities of the camp/park were fine.

Review 24:The fact that the reception and main seating areas close at 10 in summer and 9pm in the winter are sealed off with no comfortable seating areas apart from your bedroom.

Review 25:We were in the main villa which has four rooms with two single beds and two bunk beds. The rooms are comfortable and very quiet with comfortable bedding that provides a sound sleep. The breakfast is fairly standard with reasonable choice and lots of freshly brewed coffee. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. Free Wi-Fi is available and is fastest near reception.

Review 26:That the public areas in the villa is sealed off at 10pm so there is no access to the comfortable seating area or to reception.

Review 27:This was our second visit to Villa Bjorkhagen. Therefore, we had no preconceived ideas as to what we should expect. Situated in Elmia, beside the major conference centre and the famous Rosenlund swimming pool, the villa provides budget priced accommodation that is very satisfactory. On prices please make sure to explore the various web sites since prices differ enormously. Our room was one of four in the main villa and overlooked Lake Vattern. With two single beds and two bunk beds it would be sufficient for a family. The small toilet and shower room was fine. Our beds were very comfortable and the room very pleasant with two comfortable seats in the bay window that was very pleasant to relax and read in. The breakfast buffet is fairly basic continental style but perfectly satisfactory with a reasonable range of cereals, yoghurts, cold meats, bread and rolls. The freshly brewed coffee was really good. The area is really quiet at night and this ensures a peaceful sleep. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful and the villa has good free Wi-Fi and free parking. For the energetic Jonkoping town is about a half hour walk along a very pleasant path by the lakeside. The villa provides a wide range of other facilities such as camping, caravanning and small chalets. We would certainly return to Villa Bjorkhagen on a future visit to Jonkoping.

Review 28:We had booked a cabin and were a bit disappointed. The beds were very uncomfortable and the cabin wasn't very clean. The kitchen was quite dirty and we had to clean the dishes multiple times before we could use them. Please note that this place is not directly at the lake (its on top of a cliff).

Review 29:Price was good, the camping place's shop had a good selection of products. Staff was generally friendly and checkin and checkout was fast.

Review 30:I didn't noticed that bed linens weren't provided, and as I arrived at midnight... it was impossible to ask for them. For a one night stay they should always include bed linens, IMHO.

Review 31:kindness of the staff: they called me to organinse where I could have find the keys

Review 32:I have no negative comments about this site

Review 33:A simple and very quiet camp site. Good facilities. A great breakfast was included in our cabin rate. Great views over Lake vattern. 15/20 minute walk to the edge of Jonkoping

Review 34:Third time in Villa Björkhagen and it never fails! Good service, nice people around, at nights peaceful, clean cottage etc. Good services in Jönköping and it was nice to swim in lake Vättern. We love this place and we'll visit again!

Review 35:Didn't realise we were to be on a campsite, but ok with it. Beer reasonably priced for Sweden. Nice footpath above the cliff overlooking Lake Vattern, and 40 minute walk (mostly lakeside) to the town centre.

Review 36:On the outskirts of the city, so easy to get in. Found site straight away using satnav. Not so sure it would be as easy to find this location without it.

Review 49:Beautiful location. Close to town and nature.

Review 85:all the hiden costs

Review 86:only the weather

Review 87:Nothing

Review 88:Location and staff fairness

Review 89:very good for the price

Review 90:A bit difficult to find the place with a car.

Review 91:Staff was very nice and friendly. Check-in/out was fast.

Review 92:the hotel was a bit tired looking.

Review 93:the walk into Jonköping

Review 94:Uncomfortable beds,

Review 95:It was the perfect place to stay one night while travelling through Sweden. Don't expect luxurious room (we stayed at a cottage), but it was very clean and has an excellent cost-benefict relation. The staff was very friendly. Nice and calm place to stay and to watch the beautiful sunset at the Vattern lake during summer.

Review 96:Shower room in the cottage was a bit worn off, but still quite clean. Check-out time from cottages was rather early (11am), which requires a somewhat earlier start in the last day.

Review 97:Friendly staff, good wifi signal, basic breakfast was included in price and grocery shop was in the main building. Quiet and peaceful place.

Review 98:The information and pictures provided forthis resort are misleading. This is a campground with rustic cabins, furniture is rough, mattresses and pillows unclean and uncomfortable. Instead of accommodations comparable to the pictures, we had 2 sets of bunk beds. The cabin next door had a loud party until 3 AM. When we complained to the receptionist the next morning, she said after 11PM should be quiet hours, but there is no overnight staff or security. This was Sunday morning, so no manager was available.

Review 99:Breakfast room was cheerful, and breakfast was sufficient.

Review 100:There were no bed sheets and I was not staying in a camping house but in a room of the main house. Breakfast was nothing special but basics were there.

Review 101:The location and price are very good.

Review 102:- because toilets are poorly cleaned, they have a subtle urine smell, I cleaned it myself to get rid of it - breakfast is really poor and sometimes they serve old, spoiled food (!) - room was full of sand and hairs when I got there, I had to complain - very poorly-lit room

Review 103:- friendly and helpful staff - cheaper than most places in Sweden (with your own bathroom) - beautiful lake close by, if you like jogging it's a perfect location

Review 104:It would be better to have well-functioning internet facilities in the reception area, rather than wifi antennas in the bungalows. (Many people get headaches from these).

Review 105:Enjoyed the cosy log fire in the reception lounge

Review 106:A bit isolated and no access to lake. Limited facilities but do not know what it would be like in summer. Looks better on web, cottages back onto a housing estate.

Review 107:Served purpose, cheap accommodation. Would serve perfectly as a base to elsewhere.

Review 108:difficult to enjoy a starry night or the lakeside location with so many lights in the parking area and constant noise from heavy traffic

Review 109:friendly staff, nice to sit by a log fire, convenient with kitchinette in the bungalow, and well heated.

Review 110:- Very poor room lighting, with all lights on it's still very dark- their notion of "clean room, prepared for new client" leaves to be desired - they should offer more fresh things for breakfast (some of the offerings are to corrupt to be still edible, yet they still offer them)

Review 111:- Great beautiful lake close by, you can take strolls / jog etc.- friendly staff, they upgraded my room - quiet zone - warm in the room - excellent price for Sweden (when I was here, Dec)

Review 112:I couldn't turn on the heaters and the reception doesn't work at late hours. So it was cold at the room and I couldn't do anything about it..

Review 113:The staff was friendly. My room was scheduled for 14:00, but it was ready at 12:00 which was a big plus since I was collapsing and wanted to sleep.

Review 114:The lock broke on the door and my car keys telephone and wallet and computer were all inside it took one and a half hours to get the room open again,This was very inconvenient. But the staff were very helpful.

Review 115:The room was well prepared and comfortable and bright the internet speed was ok,the bathroom was warm.

Review 116:If you don't have your own transport it is a bit difficult to get to, some directions or which bus to get there would have been nice.

Review 117:The location on the edge of a lake was beautiful. The accommodation was compact but well appointed, but felt spacious. It wasn't really a hotel, more of a cabin but still very nice and quiet.

Review 118:No dislikes--it was a good overnight stop.

Review 119:The cottage we had was adorable and sufficient for our needs. We chose it for its location to break up a very long road trip from Falun to Ystad.

Review 120:It wasn´t a hotel it was a camping. The cabin was very hot and everything seemed very old and ready for an upgrade. The bed was beyond uncomfortable, it contained only of a thin matress and the bed made noice, hard to sleep.

Review 121:I was visiting the fair Elmia and it was really close. The staff was very friendly

Review 122:The lady in charge with the breakfast was veeery suspicious when sheasked me if I have paid for the breakfast as well, even if almost allthe bookings had the breakfast included. The camping/hotel is quite far from the city center and the bus ticket to get there is about 26 SEK (about 3 euros)... a normal price in Sweden.

Review 123:I have got a basic but quite nice bungalow, near the lake. The hotel is,in fact, a camping which offers places for camping cars and bungalows. The price is really good for Sweden. The breakfast is ok and the receptionist really friendly and helpful.

Review 124:1.Price is too high for my point of view for that kind of hotel. 2.I informed on check-in that I will leave hotel at 4-30 by my car and received answer that it is ok and I need just leave key in Postbox. And I was very "surprised" when found closed gate to the camping that is only one way to the hotel. And no staff in the hotel during night. As long as I was very busy to get ferry on time I managed to find path through road for bikes. Fortunately my car is not so big, but bigger car couldn't go that way because it so narrow 3. Furniture, bed linen and everything in the room was quite old

Review 125:No

Review 126:It needs an update. The cabins have not been updated in a long time. Hade to fit a crib (cotbed) into the cabin if you are traveling with infant.

Review 127:Playground for the kids, good breakfast,

Review 128:Credit card was debited without authorization before arrival (but excused). Very expensive for what it offered (cabin with shower + bunk beds). Not recommended for family with children.

Review 129:Booking went wrong. We were given a room in an old house with very poor bath & shower facilities down a rickety staircase. Shared toilet in corridor. Probably not value for money as opposed to what had originally been booked. We were not offered the possibility to cancel.

Review 130:Internet was severely restricted. I could only surf, not read emails, not VPN, not SSH, no Remote Desktop, no IRC, no chatting with friends. Just plain basic surfing.
