Review 1：The rate is quite high considering the poor facilities that the hotel has to offer.Shower head is not properly installed. Water spewed in every direction. No shower curtain.

Review 7：Sometimes room lost the water supply mostly during 7pm until 9 pm. Have to take a shower near the pool, and i guess the pool should be open for guests until midnight. :)
Review 8：We went there for a 3 night stay over new years eve. On the first night, our air conditioner broke and reception was closed and there was no fan so we slept in our sweat overnight. The next morning after telling reception to fix our air con unit, we waited 5 hours while maintenance didn't arrive to do anything to fix our room. We demanded a room switch and during this time, the water had run out of the entire hotel. No shower, no running water, no toilet. This happened two days IN A ROW. After the frustrations of our air con breaking down and reception giving a very blase attitude about it, we asked when the water (ON THE SECOND DAY) was going to work. "How am I going to shower?" I asked. The receptionist told me to use the swimming pool. Even though the price is quite good, there are a plethora of other good hotels in the same area for similar prices where utilities seem to run at 100%. Don't come here.

Review 19：It's scruffy the rooms have almost blacked out windows with curtains closed because the view is a brick wall about a meter away . Breakfast area is scruffy tables never wiped clean. The breakfast is cold an a very poor standard. The pool a strange green colour wouldn't use it. Piles of dirty sheets left in the corridors for hours on end a trail of sand and water all the way from the pool to the rooms totally over priced avoid if at all possible

Review 21：The common spaces were always with sand, never clean, the staff at the reception never ever had one smile to give and were not helpfull at all. Also didn't really speak english. People didn't respect and scream just near the rooms and nobody did nothing. We really don't liked this hotel, just a mess!

Under the beds was filthy-only noticed on last day when checking nothing was left that I discovered all sorts of rubbish under the beds. wonder if it was ever cleaned!!! The breakfast was not worth the money. had a view of the side wall. could not get onto computor the whole week

Review 35：NO INTERNET, NO WIFI!!! (Sometimes the connection is impossible, but sometimes if possible to connect the speed is very very, frustratingly slow!!! Maybe 56kb/s, like 15 years ago... It is very annoying, it would be better if there were no Internet in the hotel... The breakfast had a same problem... No choices, no wegetables, no fruits but only some watermelon. The only eateble food was the peppery scrambled eggs and the cereal. There is no ventilation in the hotel. The building and the rooms are very hot... Need ~30 minutes to cool the room. I didn't get clean sheets in those 5 days.

Review 42：Love the location of this hotel. The cleanliness was good enough to have a comfortable 2 nights sleep. The staff were nice to attend to my needs (for e.g. i asked for room cleaning and they did.)
Review 43：No hair dryer I've requested for late check-out till 2pm on the day before my last day. At first, he told me not available due to all rooms fully booked. After he recheck, he told me he can arranged for us. I double checked with him is it complimentary, he said yes and normally charges will be applied after checkout at 1430hrs. When I checkout, they asked me to pay for rm40. I was so dissapointed on this.

The staff was not helpful at all and didn't really speak english, and housekeeping didn't come to clean or replace supplies unless we asked. The breakfast was not good and the wifi basically never worked.

Swimming pool picture is misleading, just a little pool with no beds beside. Finally, you can't shower without making the whole bathroom wet.

Review 51：The breakfast is not worth going downstairs for. Everyday was scrambled eggs, noodles and rice. Finally on our third day we went to a place right down the road called "The Breakfast Bar". It was delicious. I would not have booked breakfast with our rooms.
Review 52：This hotel was in the perfect location. Originally my husband and I were skeptical to book based on the reviews. This hotel is newly renovated, and the staff were very helpful every time we asked. If I would have booked any other hotel I would have been very disappointed as I looked at them once we arrived. This hotel is "The" place you want to be. Everything in the room was brand new, a flat screen TV. The front desk have converters for us to charge our phones. If we are ever in Langkawi again we will stay in this hotel.
Review 53：the TV had 4 channels only one that was English. Fox sports! No thanks They need to have a serious look at their cleaning of communal spaces!! It was horrific!!! Both bathrooms M/F my husband and I walked into and out of without using them!! And we aren't too fussy! We retried this again the next day only to find it exactly the same.. I'm not going into detail but gross!! Breakfast is a joke.. Yes it's a cheap add on but there was hardly anything there and what was there was tasteless and it was not even worth paying for breaky even for the coffee! Scrbled eggs, fried noodles and tempura veg doesn't cut it 3days in a row! They would top up these when asked but only add one extra serve to the bowl! The main foyer is always wet and covered in sand and the same piles would be there from 8am to 8pm!!
Review 54：The bed was really comfy and the room was well set out! Hotel is in a great position overlooking the beach but hardly any of the rooms get too take advantage of the view! Pool was lovely even if it is highly chlorinated!!

The place isn't the cleanest, the walls are very thin and because we were put on the bottom floor, at breakfast time it was so loud with everyone going for breakfast outside our room.

The real gem is when you walk out the back of the hotel and see the beach and the sea within seconds of walking out the back. The hotel is surrounded by bars on both sides, the staff here are really friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Review 79：Dark rooms. No balcony. In your room is a door to next room so you can hear all the sounds from next door especially snore in night :-) The Langkawi is not really prepared for tourists. The Malaysians dont want to bargain the prices and dont care about the tourists like in nearby thailand. It is worth to visit for a 3-5 days but I would not return there again.

Review 86：It was our annual family get together and we were looking for a place near a beach. We could not have made a better choice. Best Star Resort is as near to the beach as you can get. We were able to take walks along the beach at any time that we wished to. We enjoyed playing in the sea with no worry about changing into dry clothes as our room was very near. The place was also very near to the mall, to eating places, to souvenier shops and to the Langkawi Underwater World. The staff were very pleasant and were ready to help with all our enquiries.

Review 91：Bedroom was dark and dingy , the bed was filthy no matress cover the pillow cases were clean but underneath they were filthy the douvet cover also needed replacing . I appreciate that a major development was ongoing but the bedroom was disgusting the carpets were not clean the curtains did not open to allow any light into the room but then again due to the refurbishment the windows needed cleaning . I feel that the location of this hotel is excellent that the rooms also need a lot of attention , perhaps the hotel should of closed whilst the refurbishment is carried out so that when it re-opened it would have a clean bill of health

Review 95：Currently being renovated so work started at 8am until 6pm. Rooms are very dated and seem a little unclean. Towels are old and scratchy but we knew to bring our own this time! The hotel has very little in the way of facilities and is generally sandy and dated.
Review 96：This is the second time we have stayed in Best Star, so we knew what to expect. Excellent location directly on the beach (the reason we came back!) and we spend hardly any time in the room. Staff are friendly and helpful. Tea and coffee in room. Bed is huge and quite comfortable.

Review 107：Everything but the location and 2 people in the staff. Rats/mouse that runs in the celling and woke us up, on 1st floor. Have to pay 100 MYR for deposition for the little plastic card. Aldo have to pay for all the night directly when you check in. This complicates if you hadn't have time to go to the ATM yet and arrives late. And also like many others have type the hotel in a major construction site. Doesn't look like or feels like a resort/hotel.
