Reviews for Hotel Sahara

Review 1:Watch out! Bedbugs!!! Shower broken, hot water after 25 minutes spel of water. Badroom smels and verry dirty. Find lot of hair in and outside THE badroom. Verry noisey at night and by drunk people outside.

Review 2:Check in was ok. Nice people.

Review 3:This time all the lights were out for quite a long time, (not necessarily the hotel's fault) but the candles were so romantic... Hamdullah I had my iPad for illumination! Housekeeping is a bit confusing; certainly never any rose petals on MY bed - lucky to get a clean towel! And what's all this about hair dryers in every room, pray? By the way, whose idea was it to paint all the rooms red now?! (Shades of the bordello, but surely not intentionally?)

Review 4:I have really loved this hotel over more than 15 years and would go nowhere else in Essaouira. It's a retro gem with an ethos all its own of slightly crumbling grandeur, part Fawlty Towers, part Suddenly Last Summer and part the purest kitsch as far as decor goes, since its extraordinary makeover. But I'm an artist and not very representative of Joe Public! The baths are lovely and hot water problems would seem to be in the past now. Staff slightly eccentric but also lovely.

Review 5:I looked other hotels i fawond this the best hotel for me wander full location

Review 6:Nice and worm best location staf are good nice decorations and pric Olson good

Review 7:Hot water comes and goes. Locks to rooms corroded and hard to use.

Review 8:Great atmospheric hotel, perhaps a little eerie. Staff were helpful when it came to things like turning on the hot water. Rooms spacious, location excellent. Amplified call to prayer across the road makes for an early start.

Review 9:Unfortunately, the room - floor, bedclothes, furniture - and bathroom were dirty. Old, very unconfortable bed. Only one, small window in the room, so even in the middle of the day it was dark inside. No restaurant, no cafe in the hotel. During all our stay of 3 days there was no room service at all - they even did not bring the new toilet paper, fortunately we had our own. No towels, too.

Review 10:Very good location - in the medina, but not in the centre, so quite far away from the crowded bazar; also very close to the sea (so, to the beach and harbour). Colorful walls and ceilings create the special atmosphere. The building looks very good from outside, but when you come in, it makes an impression of a hudge, abandoned hotel. There are many rooms, but we were almost alone there (maybe one or two more rooms were occupied during our stay). A lot of empty place - the TV room, where the TV was still on, but there was no one to watch it; the ancient restaurant where no one cooks and serves food (but the music plays all the time and the tables seem to wait for guests); the birds in cages and goldfishes in aquariums in the empty hall... Very strange place, but it has some special atmosphere. So, if you like the mysterious places, if you look for an inspiration to write a horror or crime novel - it can be the good place for you ;)

Review 11:A little bit noizy at night if windows towards street

Review 12:Very nice and helpfull staff, excelent location Only the bathroom kind of old, but working I would go there again Nice decorations

Review 13:Free wi-fi doesn't work vell inside the room

Review 14:The best location, authentic "riad' design of the room, old style design of lobby. Very cosy! Nice staff.

Review 15:The hotel was dirty, warn out, staff cheated us on price for the room, WiFi in the room didn't work, bathroom and the room smelled badly, bed linens were dirty. All in all terrible.

Review 16:Of all things only location was OK

Review 17:I love this hotel. The room decor is stunning. The hotel staff is lovely. The whole place has character. It is right in the old town yet only few minutes walk from taxi dropoff and not very noisy if you ask for a room away from the main street!

Review 18:No air con, sitting area or wifi that worked.. Nothing was as advertised, and I think photos of the rooms must have been from another hotel!! Beds dirty and slept in...

Review 19:Location

Review 20:Not going to lie, there were a lot of things wrong with this hotel, toilets blocking, wifi not working in our room, weird shower, all that being said, I'm not really complaining, I had a great time and it made the experience all the more original.

Review 21:It was the best location, staff were really nice, beds were comfortable and the hotel's front door was almost always open.

Review 22:Hot water supply is sporadic which spoiled the stay. Décor is gloomy bordering on spooky - but not a show stopper.

Review 23:Basic hotel. Friendly staff, good value. Fantastic location. Safe and surprisingly quiet for the Medina.

Review 24:The wifi wasn't working (not sure if that was temporary) You had to hold the shower head and it was a cold shower.

Review 25:Hotel Sahara was in a good spot (near enough to the beach and in the medina)! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice, with comfortable beds and relatively spacious.

Review 26:Nothing!

Review 27:- Excellent Central location (Only 1 minute walk to the Medina/Souks!) - Very quiet at night - Great value for Essaouira prices - Shower had consistent Hot water! - Wi-Fi is Strong! - Smiling Staff are Fantastic & go to Great lengths to ensure you are happy & enjoy your stay! - Even organised a load of washing to be done for me & dropped at my room. - I would happily stay here if I was ever in Essaouira again.

Review 28:Change room twice. Toilet had a leak that flooded the entire bathroom in hours. No hot water. We stayed on the 3rd floor where water pressure was not enought even to brush your teeth.

Review 29:Unfortunately it was very cold (March) and rooms and a toilet were untidy :( Water was cold so we didn't take a shower.

Review 30:Me and my friends liked the look of our rooms and location in Medina, near the ocean and a bus stop. Personnel was nice and helpful and wifi worked the best of all hotels we stayed in Morocco.

Review 31:Room not cleaned at all over 8 days.

Review 32:Pleasant staff. lovely Moroccan furnishings. Quiet at night.

Review 33:Did not have a breakfast that their description at Booking.com states. They have an unused attractive dining area for it.

Review 34:View from front room

Review 35:Unfriendly staff. No additional options. Rooms with big moisture.

Review 36:close to beach and Medina markets.
