Reviews for Hotel Trébol

Review 1:One thing we did not like was that we were there only one week : )

Review 2:Excellent location. Helpful knowledgeable staff. Very good breakfast. Roomy, colorful, super clean room. Laid back. Tours were available to be booked there, but we never once felt any pressure.

Review 3:breakfast is good but not 5 stars like all the rest.

Review 4:we arrived at 7am and we were offered breakfast also if not included. staff was always very kind, location is excellent (in front of the market and just 1 block from the zocalo). design of the place is also fantastic: an internal patio for breakfast lots of decoration typical mexican stile.

Review 5:Maybe the hotel could give more options for breakfast because was the same everyday...

Review 6:Great place to stay in Oaxaca, close to main attractions, kindly staff, clean, good WiFi.

Review 7:You can hear everything that is going on in the yard or other rooms. We could not sleep when somebody came back to the hotel at night and started talking, laughing, etc.

Review 8:Perfect location.

Review 9:Breakfast was American white bread, instant coffee, and the same egg and chips. A few fruits too NO HOT WATER in the evening. Every day I wanted to take a shower in the late evening after being out all day. Upon arriving and departing the front desk were relentless and trying to charge me for three people. I Showed them my reservation form from booking.com and they still wouldn't except it. They finally did so.

Review 10:Location is one block from zocalo and across the street from 2 huge markets

Review 11:I asked for a room with a view and I got room 308. There is a view of a wall. The wifi was very slow; almost non-existent (I was using Trebol5 - which had the highest bars in my room). The booking.com description says there are ceiling fans. There are not. There is a floor fan.

Review 12:The location was good (just south of the Zocalo). The staff was nice. Hotel seemed safe. Person next to me slept with their door open (due to it being hot). The toiletries in the bathroom were appreciated as was the free water in the room. The breakfast was plentiful (eggs, bread, chilaquiles, instant coffee, tea) and well timed (7:30am - 10:30am).

Review 13:The breakfast was fine but could of added a couple more options perhaps? But was pleasant enough.

Review 14:The location is fantastic! The staff where so helpful and friendly and really made the trip great! I wouldn't hesitate in recommending hotel trebol.

Review 15:The first room was too stuffy. They changed right away to a room with a window. Much better. TV was useless unless you were fluent in Spanish.

Review 16:The hotel was well located to everything. The service was great and responsive. Wifi worked. Continental breakfast was good. Travel agent was great.

Review 17:Even though it is just a block from the Zocalo, if you get a room away from the street it is surprisingly quiet and tranquil. The rooms are clean and very comfortable and the nicely decorated common areas are too. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. There is a good place for inexpensive tacos, quesadillas and good coffee or hot chocolate right downstairs next to reception. All in all, a great stay.

Review 18:The lovely breakfast and lounge area was not that usable due to a business separated from the lounge area only by glass doors. To bring in customers they felt as though they had to play and endless tape of thumping drum sounds. This noise permeated the entire room. The cleaning schedule was done without supervision and meant that after a day of sightseeing we frequently came back at 3 or 4 to a room with no towels or sheets.

Review 19:Very pretty rooms and interesting local paintings and crafts throughout made it attractive in a very local way. The staff were lovely and helpful.

Review 20:The rooms are charming, comfortable and well appointed. Spacious with good lighting and lots of closet space. Great location and very knowledgeable staff.

Review 21:the tourist info lady who works at the hotel gave us amazing tips of where to sample real Oaxacan food and find local crafts; the hotel is absolutely gorgeous, right in front of the market, walking distance to literally anywhere in the historic centre of Oaxaca

Review 22:The hotel is just few meter away from Zagalo. However today the whole area looks like a big market, noisy and dirty. Plus point to the hotel is the coffee and some fruits are offered the whole day free in the patio next to the reception.

Review 23:Bathrooms had VERY poor lighting and were painted orange. Could not apply make-up without moving lamps, to bathroom, etc. Only 4 hangers in the closet, no skirt or pants hangers; pillows were a lumpy mess.

Review 24:Location was great, staff accommodating, interior room was very quiet, good wi-fi.

Review 25:The breakfast is a little bit poor, just toasts\jam\tea.

Review 26:Everything was good, overall a great stay. We needed to check out early in the morning and everything was done perfectly: the staff opened the parking for us at 6AM and helped us with other things.

Review 27:Fantastic location, close to the centre - it was in fact in the centre, opposite a busy market. The hotel is very clean, spacious, airy, quiet, the staff good and helpful, self-serving breakfast in the patio from early am. Very highly recommended!

Review 28:We did not have hot water the last morning of our stay.

Review 29:Hotel Trebol is a quaint and small hotel that is close to everything we wanted to see. Our room was clean and away from the noise of the street. The free WiFi worked extremely well, even in our room.

Review 30:We were not informed upon our arrival (or better yet before) that we would be expected to change rooms for our fifth and final night. Instead we were told on the afternoon of our 4th night that we would have to change from our 1st floor room to a 3rd floor room first thing in the AM. The staff was adamant. They said someone had reserved our room for that night before we did (we'd made our reservation 5 months in advance). We changed hotels.

Review 31:Traveling with 3 other couples, we enjoyed being able to meet up in the pleasant courtyard. The wifi worked great in our room, and evidently, throughout the hotel.

Review 32:Shower was either hot or cold, no hot water morning I left, no closet for hanging clothes, no counter space in bathroom. Probably needs new plumbing,

Review 33:location and ambiance.

Review 34:Beds were double not queen and hard to sleep in with another person. The bathroom got very wet when anyone showered.

Review 35:The grounds are stunning. It was prime location!! Quite yet in the middle of exactly where you want to be. Staff very helpful and understanding to my friend being ill. They found my iPhone & returned it to me.

Review 36:It is quite noisy. You can hear what other people are doing in the other rooms. It should be a problem with the walls or the ceilings too thin. Besides that, this hotel is very good.

Review 37:The staff is very helpful, the facilities of the hotel and rooms are quite nice, but the highlight of this hotel is the location, just in front of the local market and a few steps from the main square.

Review 38:Can't think of anything.

Review 39:Staff, location & facilities were all great. Love the color of the building! Whenever we got turned around we just looked for the hot pink tower.

Review 40:lots and lots and lots of moskitoes in the room

Review 41:personal very helpful and - not always a given in mexico - spoke english. no noise whatsoever despite the central location and during the dia de los muertos festival.

Review 42:Location, location, - it can't get any better. Despite the busy location, the hotel was very quiet. It has a very peaceful atmosphere. The staff were helpful and friendly. We were there during Day of the Dead and they put up a really beautiful altar - one of the best (of many) I have seen. Would happily stay there again.

Review 43:No breakfast, turtle speed WIFI, unfortunately given the wrong password by a staff that no access to the internet for a whole day

Review 44:Good location, friendly staffs, spacious room, atmospheric

Review 45:Very helpful staff - changed room immediately when I asked not to be overlooking the street. Complimentary fruit and hot water for drinks available throughout day.

Review 46:No hot water , it takes a long time for hot water to come out, beds are a bit hard , no garbage can in room just in bathroom. Parking is three blocks away but of course being in the center with no space was convenient and safe.

Review 47:The hotel is clean, very nice lobby , not street noise from were we stayed. Staff very helpful. Good size rooms.

Review 48:- The bathroom stunk a little bit the first night because of a smell coming from the alley near the hotel

Review 49:- The hotel was in the city center - The hotel was reasonably priced - The staff was well-educated and helpful - The hotel facilities were aesthetically pleasing and in good shape - The tour guide recommended by the hotel was excellent - I would definitely stay there again

Review 50:Our level of spanish was not sufficient to communicate effectively with staff. Breakfast was not included but there are good places nearby.

Review 51:The location is good, close to the market and main square. The hotel with colourful walls and a nice patio is lovely. The safety deposit box at reception is very convenient. There is a desk to organise tours, carmen was very helpful.

Review 52:Parking was no so good I highly recommend you to have somebody to valet park the vehicles as the garage is away from your hotel.

Review 53:Room was nice, clean and near main square

Review 54:Breakfast was delicious, the salsas were amazing....

Review 55:Unreliable hot water in the shower

Review 56:English speaking staff, free breakfast, and location.

Review 57:Great locación, though the streets it's located in are a bit crowded, you are right across from the best food in Oaxaca.

Review 58:not easy to access to bathroom. I paid, and I met some BEDBUGS... thank you.

Review 59:big bedroom

Review 60:The location was key. Best value for your money and very helpful staff. Complimentary breakfast was delicious as well!!

Review 61:stayed in room 108, it was very noisy as it was close to the foyer.

Review 62:The location ewas excellent.

Review 63:right beside the market but very quiet. garden in the middle is beautiful. i luved it!

Review 64:The location among the museum and central market

Review 65:Direct in the center. Continental breakfast included although in the description it is not. Coffee and fruits are also available whole day.

Review 66:The location is the best, close to everything and yet you don't get the noise of being in the city centre.

Review 67:car park it's not at the hotel like it's written on the booking, but you must park your car 3 blocks away

Review 68:the best location!

Review 69:The inner court yard, the decoration and the location.

Review 70:the breakfast is very sad. white bread and tea

Review 71:Nice clean rooms, well kept and cleaned daily

Review 72:The crushing taxes which added significantly to the price of the room.

Review 73:My room was very secure with a view over an inner courtyard and fountain.

Review 74:Room a bit rumourous during the night. No hairdryer you have to ask for it.

Review 75:Location. Very nice hotel. Nice staff.

Review 76:All ok - nice bed, tv, clean, great location... but breakfast is dismal and reception staff could be friendlier.

Review 77:Wifi ni delal v sobi Zajtrk zelo malo

Review 78:I loved the very central location as well as the wonderful decor. The staff were friendly and helpful and my room was very comfortable.

Review 79:The Hotel Trebol is in an excellent location, across the street from the main market, and a block away from the zocalo, at the center of town. Although on a busy street, once we were in our room, there was no noise. The staff was very helpful, and we were able to communicate, despite our lack of skill in Spanish. There was a very helpful woman in the lobby who helped us with booking our tours, and also gave us detailed maps on how to get to other tourist attractions in the city. Everywhere was walkable!

Review 80:wifi didn't work and there was no hot water

Review 81:the staff was pretty nice and there was no outside noise even if the hotel is right across from the market.

Review 82:They charged my credit card a little after I made the reservation even though it said on booking.com that no charges will be made until we get there.

Review 83:I would stay there again. Very centrally located. Clean and nice.

Review 84:I requested an early check in. It was not available.

Review 85:Location is across from the mercado, but I did not notice much noise, as I had requested an interior room. It had a beautiful view of a courtyard with a window that opened. Room size was comfortable and the bathroom good sized. It was a fair price for a very nice room. The hotel in general, the decor is very well kept up. I would stay again.

Review 86:The convenience of being able to walk to places of interest, the décor of the hotel and the comfortable lobby, that there was an English-speaking concierge. It was a very pleasant stay, and I have recommended it to friends.

Review 87:The pillows were a too hard for my liking. My only complaint.

Review 88:Hotel Trebol is a beautiful, charming hotel in a very convenient location. I loved my room and the view over the courtyard.

Review 89:This hotel advertised a restaurant and bar/ there was none. They offered instant coffee in the morning/ unacceptable in Oaxaca, city of great coffee! Plus, I was offered a free 10th night, paying for 9, which never materialized.

Review 90:The room we had was spacious, the beds totally comfortable, nice view of the patio below. The lounge was a great place to hang out with computer. and the staff kind and courteous

Review 91:The beds were a little hard, but not bad. I wish they had a restaurant, but there are so many good ones right around, it isn't really necessary.

Review 92:The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. It was a great location, just a short block to the zocalo, across the street from the Benito Juarez Mercado and 1 block from the 20deNovembre Market with all the food stalls

Review 93:The Wi-Fi was a bit iffy, but if you are on the internet all day, why go to Mexico? Iffy Wi-Fi is probably a good thing.

Review 94:As in many Mexican hotels the luxury is in the courtyards and these were outstanding.

Review 95:Location,location, location and gracious friendly staff. Diego was particularly helpful. The courtyards are very inviting and comfortable. This is a quiet respite in a busy area near the Zocalo and across the street from the markets

Review 96:The breakfast could have been a bit better but the deal didn't seem to include any meals but the light breakfast was included.

Review 97:The rooms and common areas are full of colour and character. The location is very central but the room very quiet. You were able to have drinks and fruit at any time.

Review 98:The reservation we made through your organization was never received. Fortunately I had my confirmation with me and they found another room although at a higher cost.

Review 99:The rooms were large, quiet and comfortable. The location was excellent - across from the mercado and a few blocks from the Zocolo.

Review 100:Hotel Trebol overbooked their rooms and didn't have a room for us when we arrived. Even though I booked my accomodation months ahead through booking.com and already have my confirmation code, they still overbooked and acted as if they never received my booking before and weren't very helpful. It was quite shocking and caused a LOT of stress on our first night. Initially, they couldn't find any other hotels for us and it almost ruined our vacation plan. After calling booking.com, their attitude changed and all of a sudden were able to find another hotel for us for the 1st night. The next day, they managed to find a room for us for the remaining days, but we needed to change rooms from time to time (luckily that didn't happen in the end). After we settled into the hotel, it's actually a nice place with great location. They also offered to give our last night free as a compensation for screwing us over earlier. If they didn't overbook, it's a nice enough place that I would have considered coming back to, but the fact that they cannot guarantee their booking is of a major concern. Before I left home, I actually emailed them to confirm booking and asked for direction to get to hotel, but they never replied. I'd be careful with booking with Hotel Trebol. It might be Hotel Trouble.

Review 101:Hotel Trebol is only a block away from the Zocalo and close to two interesting mercados in town. The location is excellent. They also have a lovely courtyard and decorated with beautiful Mexican art.

Review 102:Lack of warm water in two nights during our stay.

Review 103:Excellent location, just some steps from the main square. Beautiful, well designed hotel, with free breakfast and parking.

Review 104:This hotel is perfectly located just one block off the Zocalo. Carmen was really helpful in planning our daily excursions. Having La Casa del Mezcal around the corner was handy!!!

Review 105:At the end of my stay a remote control just disappeared, so the personnel charged it to our account, it was very unlikely that remote control just disappear out of the blue the last night.

Review 106:Is a quiet, traditional and cozy hotel. Despite it's in the downtown which is very noisy, this small hotel is a peace oasis in the middle of chaos.

Review 107:Shower hard to adjust, pillows a little lumpy, nothing that would keep me from staying again!

Review 108:Great location, well decorated, friendly and helpful staff, very comfortable, great common areas, tour desk staffed by friendly English speaker in lobby, treated my active five year old son very nicely!

Review 109:The wi-fi did not work inside our bedroom, so we had to go to thegardens if we wanted to get online, which was upsetting.

Review 110:The location is great! Just one block from the Zocalo and right in frontof Benito Juarez Market.

Review 111:Very difficult, sometimes impossible, to adjust water temperature in shower. Not sure of relationship with tour folks but our tours could have been better. For instance, tour including Monte Alban was late and as a result, we had much too little time there; however we still had a full hour at a restaurant I could have done without.

Review 112:Very friendly and helpful staff Ideally located. Despite water temperature issue, I'd gladly stay here again.

Review 113:There's no elevator - I didn't mind using the steps, but it may be a challenge for people with certain disabilities.

Review 114:Everything! The location was perfect - very close to the Zocalo and markets, but without any noise entering my hotel room. My room was clean and comfortable, and the cleaning staff was very attentive.

Review 115:Room surpassed my expectations and remarkably peaceful, considering central location and Day of the Dead celebrations going on all around. Staff were brilliant. Only stayed because Casa del Sotano full, but would definitely stay here again.

Review 116:The control for the television, sometimes it was hard to turn the telivision off.

Review 117:The hotel is very cozy, very clean, even thought the location is very close to the zocalo and in front of the mercado my room was peaceful. It was a great place to stay.

Review 118:Limited English, although that's really my fault for not speaking Spanish! the shower was either boiling hot or freezing, other than that Perfecto!

Review 119:Best Location, walking distance to nearly everything, the Zocalo, the markets, the museums, etc. Pretty hotel and quiet

Review 120:Problems all the time. First: room facing to the street, really loud, wcdid not work. They "repaired" it and of course did not work. Iasked to change our room and even though they had a lot of empty romosthey just offered one which was interior, no light and loud, becausethere was a light/air entrance which was making the room noisy aswell. All romos without curtains blocking the sun.... Well, I complainedagain and asked to give us a better room after all the problems. First,we have to discuss 30min to change tot that one, as she wanted us tostay in a room without wc, I asked her to call the manager and shedid....but she said "you book a standard room so there is only thatone left".Then I realized that they don't have any idea aboutthe business. In every single hotel if there any problem they have tooffer something better, Well in that case she wanted us to stay in aroom without wc, then discussing to get another room, and that one alsonoisy and small.....when I say small is that a double bed is for twomini persons, otherweise you can't turn, and therefore not sleep.Well, I asked her to get a better room, that I would even pay myself theupgrade and she still said no, tonight she can't do any changebecause we used the room. Hello? We did not even touch anything. Thisreceptionist, night shift 8Nov should just be somewhere else..... Wewoke up at 5, packed and book another hotel. This hotel looks nice butonce you get in....ear plugs etc

Review 121:Location is the best

Review 122:Breakfast is very basic with instant coffee and some untoasted bread.

Review 123:The hotel is well located (even if the best spot is in the area of Alcalà), it is colourful and has a nice internal courtyard. The rooms are a bit basic but nice.

Review 124:We stayed on the ground floor and our rooms shower sprayed everywhere except at us.it was a bit noisy as voices and footsteps echo through the courtyard and downstairs area.

Review 125:Location is perfect! The staff are helpful and friendly.the hotel is clean and relaxing to stay at. I would stay here again and recommend to others.
