Reviews for TURIM Lisboa Hotel

Review 1:Old tube TV, breakfast rather poor, could need renovation in some areas

Review 2:Extremely clean rooms, LARGE rooms for european standards, we had luck with a fron-facing room, quiet area

Review 3:Receptionist constantly on the phone. Had to get up, dress, go downstairs to the reception just to ask for a wifi password. Bathroom with water everywhere after a shower.

Review 4:Internet speed is acceptable, but it could be better.

Review 5:Very well located hotel close to two subway stations (Picoas and Parque) in two different lines, and close to Marquês de Pombal and Saldanha. Haven't tried their breakfast, but there are plenty of nice coffee shops and restaurants around. Spacious and clean rooms

Review 6:Breakfast is ok but can be improved by more types

Review 7:Hotel staffs are great and friendly. Room is very standard but size is big, which is good. Location is also ok and there is a supermarket nearby.

Review 8:Unlike some other guests, we encountered front desk staff that showed no interest. They could have been more helpful.

Review 9:This hotel is in a quiet location with good access to the metro which gets you into the centre quickly. A superette and fruit shop are very handy. Easy access on the metro to/from the airport.

Review 10:Wifi in the rooms only near the door... no reception in the rest of the room.

Review 11:Friendly and helpful staff! Great, even in walking distance from the centre! (in case you're too late to catch the metro)

Review 12:Slightly expensive, but I did book last minute, so that could have been the reason

Review 13:Located less than a 5 minute walk to a metro station, rooms were clean, breakfast was good, and staff was helpful!

Review 14:Located in a not-very-attractive street - but turned out to be a rose between several thorns!

Review 15:Easy to book, easy to find, good central location, friendly staff, nice room and generally good hotel facilities commensurate with star rating.

Review 16:pregnant smell on corridors, only a part of the staff was friendly and helpful (???),slow wi-fi

Review 18:Corner Rooms 8th floor - though spacious, but outside view is restricted

Review 19:1. 5 mints walk for Picoas Metro Station. Direct link from Entrecampos Station by yellow line and Metro link to Airport via Saldanha (Redline) 2. Great food joint and a supermarket - for dine in as well as take-away 3. Fantastic breakfast 4. True value for money 5. Fantastic front office staff - late check out not a problem

Review 20:Somewhat far off downtown (but easily accessible via buses or metro). Breakfasts are not up to standards.

Review 21:Good value, neatness, located in a quiet street overlooking a small square. Large bedrooms.

Review 22:I will not choose the hotel next time. And advise my friends and familynot to choose it either. Front desk:Not friendly,Not professional;Nosiy:decoration besides the hotel, too nosiy; Breakfast:simple, littleinsects in the food. Too bad!!!!!!!!

Review 23:The location is near to the supermarket.

Review 24:The area adjacent to the hotel . Building next door being demolished. Fortunately we were booked Friday to Mon morning. The noise was horrific on Friday afternoon . Fortunately work stopped at 6.00pm Friday and didn't start again until Monday morning.

Review 25:All aspects of the hotel. Staff were helpful and efficient. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Good breakfast.

Review 26:Weak wifi signal inside the room. Bad sound proofing. Oasis instead of fruit juice at breakfast.

Review 27:Extensive breakfast buffet. Good value for money. Close to metro stations. Spacious room. Well equipped bathroom.

Review 28:we were very surprised a four star hotel had such little staff, no laundry services and only one iron which meant we were not able to use when we needed it! definitely not something you can afford if you are travelling for business

Review 29:turim lisboa is small and tucked away in a quiet street close to the subway and m. pompal

Review 30:The breakfast and food available through the hotel was somewhat overpriced.

Review 31:The staff was great and very helpful. The hotel is located close to the metro and is easy to access and navigate.

Review 57:cleanliness, classic style of room

Review 58:Wi-fi was poor, but otherwise everything was great

Review 59:Location was good, room was very spacious and clean, the staff were excellent

Review 60:Wifi wasn't always available

Review 61:Great staff really friendly and helpful

Review 62:staff were so helpful breakfast was great very clean good location

Review 63:the coffee at breakfast was terrible!

Review 64:Everything.

Review 65:Wifi in the room didn't really work...

Review 66:Location is great, accessable with various lines of public transportation. Room is big and clean.

Review 67:Great location, very close to various metro stations on all lines, including the one to the airport and to many bus stations towards differrent attractions; it was also close to supermarkets, car rental stations, Eduardo VII park where a huge screen has been installed on the grass for people to watch the world cup football matches; it was also very well located for watching the Santo Antonio parades. Very large and clean rooms and bathrooms, albeit a bit oldish; comfortable beds; generous breakfast, particularly on the sweet side (loved the sponges), but it could be a bit more varied on the salted side.

Review 68:Location Decor It smelt dreadful Dirty carpets in hall and bedroom Bitten by bed bugs Stains on table cloths Where do I end with the complaints??? Totally disgusted

Review 69:Breakfast let down by quality of orange/grapefruit juice. A pity as everything else on offer was very good.

Review 70:Very helpful staff Good sized, comfortable room Happy hour! Convenience of metro stations

Review 71:View from rear of hotel is across a partially derelict block of apartments, the hotel is also in need of some repairs and maintenance. The breakfast is best described as average.

Review 72:Value for money and very spacious room

Review 73:Poor Wi-Fi and bad breakfast

Review 74:The stuff was very friendly and polite .The room was clear and comfortable. The area of the hotel was quite and near metro and bus station

Review 75:The hotel already needs renovation; it feels dated; there's an unpleasant smell in the corridors (old plumbing system);

Review 76:The friendly staff The size of the room The location

Review 77:Like other reviewers, I found the smell in the corridors and the lift very odd and a bit unpleasant. It wasn't present in the rooms or reception or the restaurant.

Review 78:Despite other reviews, WiFi in our room was very good. Hotel's within walking distance of attractions (if you like to walk) and was lovely and clean. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Breakfast was fine - though oddly there were no teaspoons!! A couple of god little restaurants directly opposite the hotel.

Review 79:The breakfast buffet was a disappointment. Had expected more of an international assortiment. No tea pot for tea...This is the only bad thing about the stay.

Review 80:Fantastic staff, very helpful, including getting taxis, etc, extremely comfortable room, and nice-sized bath. Room service was quick and very tasty. Staff pointed out there would be a surcharge before I ordered...

Review 81:A little bit out of the way; Staff could be friendlier...The food at the restaurant leaves room for improvement. Room service definitely not value for money

Review 82:size of the room; plenty of space and extra beds for our kids all included in the price.

Review 83:Room service - correct number of towels took several attempts to get right. No room safe - the lock was missing!. Room needed redecoration - wall paper peeling. Not really central enough for us.

Review 84:Staff polite and friendly. Room cleaned well. Well served by several local Metro stations.. Breakfast was good. The price was good.

Review 85:On the hall there was a funny smell and quite intensive in the lift, wifi was disconecting few times and the signal was poor

Review 86:We loved the size of the room and the design it was beatiful and very clean, our lady Rosie that was helping with cleaning was a lovely person and always leaving the room sparkling clean

Review 87:The receptionists that are the first physical contact with the hotel, showed little sympathy and warmth. There was a tiny broken glass on the floor of the room and as I was without shoes, unfortunately I pierced my foot. Nothing serious but unpleasant

Review 88:The room was bigger than I imagined. The breakfast was wonderful with many choices. An excellent location. Near to the city center, with bus and subway a few meters away from the hotel.

Review 89:The location is very bad for tourists as it is far away form everythingexcept a wonderful museum which is not mentioned in the website. Thehotel advertised itself as having suites which it did not. When wequestioned the rather grumpy fellow who was on duty when we arrived hejust said "this is the only turim that does not offer that".We had an extra bed in our room which made it very small and cramped andwere told that this single bed plus the double made it a "two bedroom" which is what we booked. We had booked a room with one doublebed in fact and were told that these did not exist at that location. Wewere also told that we had an "upgrade" as the room had abalcony. The balcony overlooked really hideous concrete buildings andthe ugly rear view of various ill-constructed apartment buildings. Avery poor choice of hotel for our needs....

Review 90:Some of the staff were very kind and helpful. The room had a wet bar anda flat screen tv.

Review 91:The bar area could become congested But we were a large party when collected together. Bar closure one night at 23-00 was we thought rather early, we guessed staff numbers.

Review 92:I liked the way staff responded when we experienced a minor crisis (stolen mobile). appreciated the excellent breakfast. The location was ideal for a tranquil city visit base with easy links to Metro and buses.

Review 93:Unpleasant smell (of drains?) in lift and landing areas. Self service toaster at breakfast utterly useless.

Review 94:Quiet location but convenient for city, airport and public transport. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Comfortable large room was kept clean and tidy by an excellent maid.

Review 95:Poor wifi, strange smell (sewer system and/or AC), specially in the corridors. To have to pay E2.50 to use the safe and the absurd price of minibar (E3.50 a bottle of water that you buy for E0.12 in the market Pingo Doce just around the corner).

Review 96:I liked the cost/benefit relation, the spacious and wooded floor room, the facilities provided (breakfast and wifi, though I have some remarks to make about them). Not that far from the city center (and you always can use the metro nearby), not far from the airport (E9.00 fare, plus luggage fare). Breakfast has a good variety of pastry, but one or another wasn't good at times. Some people complained about the lack of variety of ham and cheese but considering the great choice of other items (its impossible to attend everybody's expectations and tastes), I think the variety was good enough. One can get fresh fruits, yogurt, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, cheese, many kinds of breads, including croissant.

Review 97:Not impressed by quality of food at dinner, but service was extremely attentive and helpful.

Review 98:Room was excellent, spacious and clean. Hotel too. Breakfast had excellent selection.

Review 99:poor quality of coffee...at the breakfast.sometimes difficulty with wifi -availablity...

Review 100:nice large room for 3 persons. quiet neighbourhood with park nearby. friendly desk. good price/quality rate.

Review 101:- poor wifi service

Review 102:- good location near centre of city and close to a couple metro stations - spacious clean room with comfortable beds and nice bathroom - good service, particularly front desk (Hugo) - nice breakfast with good variety of hot and cold items

Review 103:Nothing. It was all good.

Review 104:Location. Close to the metro perfect spot to explore Lisbon at a real good value price food. Orange cake for breakfast! comfortable rooms and wifi

Review 105:-House keeping was very weak, in my two days stay, my room was cleanedup at 5 pm!!! When I just back to have a rest. -No Refrigerator. -Nominibar, they said there are but after I showed them there was no minibar. -Limited choice with your break fast.

Review 106:-A nice location I you are a tourist. -Easy access to a nice grocery.-Easy access to the main street. -Easy access to the ist. -GoodPortuguese coffee shops surround you. -Free WiFi

Review 107:- Shower fixture was defective- no information sheet in room to indicate hotel services, times for breakfast, or the phone number for reception - control of light switches in room was not explained-- had to go down to reception for information about this - the "hot" items served at the buffet breakfast were, in fact, cold. There is nothing worse than cold, old scrambled eggs and cold, greasy pieces of fried meats! - Layout of the buffet breakfast was confusing: only soup plates were set out for cereal, jams were not labelled, fruit juices were artificial and heavily diluted, the cappucino had a sweet taste, which was unfortunate as we do not take sweeteners in our coffee, there were no cold meats or cheeses, but there was an excess of cakes and sweet items that seem unusual fare for breakfast - only one man waited on the guests and he spent much of his time in the kitchen instead of attending to the needs of the guests - we had dinner at the hotel, which was a dull experience. The menu was the same as it was when we stayed here in 2009, and the food was just as bland - we were the only people eating there between 8:00 and 9:30 p.m. - the waiter who served us also attended to the customers at the bar outside and was, therefore, not able to serve us as prompltly as we would have wished

Review 108:- Helpful reception staff

Review 109:Breakfast was somewhat basic, no single vegetable available. Often ran out of drinking glasses. And beware of breakfast coffee - it is not drinkable. Taxi drivers had a hard time finding the hotel

Review 110:Very clean and well equipped room. Friendly price. My comments on breakfast notwithstanding, I can recommend the hotel

Review 111:The wifi connection was a bit slow.

Review 112:The room was spacious and clean. The coffee & tea facilities were replenished everyday. The buffet breakfast was decent and delicious.

Review 113:The style of music in the receptionarea, the bar and in the restaurant was EXTREMLY annoying - turn if off or find a different style...!!!

Review 114:Nice room Freindly staff Good breakfast

Review 115:We needed a radiator in the bathroom, as the marble floor & towels do not dry in winter.

Review 116:Wonderful hotel room for the reasonable price. We had a large room with a balcony & even a spare bed. The reception staff were wonderful and accommodated for all our needs.

Review 117:The Wifi didn't work inside the room. The bathroom has almost no air circulation. The number of the towels per person was not appropriate (it is needed at least one towel more per person). The air condition made too much noise.

Review 118:The design of the hotel is nice. The staff is kind. The breakfast had a lot of choices.

Review 119:bugs crawling all over the cakes as they were not properly covered. coffee was not good.

Review 120:extremely friendy and helpful staff and nice room. I offered to pay a bit extra for late checkout but they allowed it without any charge. breakfast was quite good.

Review 121:bed clothes and towels are old and cheap. Furniture too. Its impossible to find a free parking near the hotel.

Review 122:Friendly Staff, Cleanless ang reach breakfast

Review 123:The internett connection was really bad in our roms

Review 124:Great rooms! The rooms was tidy and comfortable. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was very good. Easy to find and not to far from the Metro. Get off the Metro at Parque or Picoas.

Review 125:The breakfast was not what I expected to be. In one bathroom it was a lingering smell of mold. The rooms were not ventilated enough.

Review 126:It is in a quiet location. The rooms are clean the staff was friendly. The prices were acceptable.

Review 127:Room was very spacious and super clean. Great bathroom and nice breakfast buffet. Stuff is friendly and ready to help. Location is not very central but walking distance from Barrio Alto, Baixa and Chiado.

Review 128:Very good hotel. Stayed here July 2012 and really enjoyed the hotel.Hotel is very clean, staff helpful and polite and location pretty goodif you use the metro. One of the best I've stayed in and will use again.

Review 129:Not a dislike, would prefer a hotel a bit nearer the Tagus river nextvisit - that would make the castle, Alfama and Baix Alto areas more orless equidistant. Some business appointments and offices are close, butthen it depends on where these are!

Review 130:Location for seeing Lisbon as a city I give 7/10 as a businesslocation 8/10

Review 131:Some people in neighboring buildings were somewhat noisy.

Review 132:Location, convenience to museums and to airport staff was very friendlyand helpful room was large and so was the bathroom. Unusually so forEurope at this price

Review 133:Very poor breakfast buffet, not corresponding with a four star hotel. The staff did not speak English except for a guy at the reception. The metro station is not 200 m away from the hotel as stated in the description.

Review 134:I liked the furnishings of hotel rooms. It was in good shape. The room was spacious and perfectly clean.

Review 135:Excellent value for money (stayed midweek). Large comfortable quiet bedroom with clean modern bathroom. Very close to metro, with nearby supermarket and friendly local cafe. Very helpful staff on the front desk who were always able to advise re travel to sights. Plenty of choice at buffet breakfast.

Review 136:breakfast staff not very efficient, had to keep asking for cutlery ,crockery, breakfast bar to be filled up, very poor slow.

Review 137:hotel reception staff very good, cleanliness of room, and city centre location.

Review 138:The breakfast could have been better. It was a bit out of the way from restaurants and shops so little variation in the immediate area was available.

Review 139:Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Close to the metro. and in a quiet locaton.
