Reviews for Hotel Trusty Nagoya Sakae
Review 1:Central A/C was either not working or switched off. Warm nights but was asked to open windows to have cool air.
Review 2:Walking distance to Train station and Oasis 21. Staff was very helpful.
Review 3:everything is ok, location is easy to find, but if you are with luggage, u need to find way up with lift/escalator is a bit hard from the mtr station
Review 4:Room size is way too small compared to other Japan hotels. Furniture of hotel is dated and there is no complimentary water provided in room. The hotel looks good from outside and lobby but a let down once you enter the room.
Review 5:Location - Hotel is at Exit 2 of Sakae Station. Easy to find.
Review 6:During my stay first week of November, they had no air-conditioning so I are forced to leave window open and there were mosquitoes. Toilet had a slight public urinal scent occasionally.
Review 7:Nice location, nice decor, nice rooms, nice friendly staff.
Review 8:Room shows it's age. Worn out and bulky wooden furniture results in tight room space. Eg. shaky coffee table top, unyielding toilet flush lever which can get temporarily stuck
Review 9:Helpful and friendly staff. Hotel has nice and welcoming lobby. Central location within walking distance from major shopping district and central bus terminus. Train station few steps away.
Review 10:The air conditioning is located just above the bed. If you use it at night you will have the cold air coming directly on your head and will catch a cold.
Review 11:Limited breakfast choices but I only ate breakfast at the hotel once. There are many café's and resturants in the Sakae area so it was not a problem for us.
Review 12:Very nice hotel with high quality feeling. Located in the very nice Sakae-district with many shops and resturants near the hotel. Very close to the subway. 20 minute walk to Nagoya Castle (or 2 stations with subway).
Review 13:Trying to find the hotel from the train station was a bit confusing, and it took us 45 minutes instead of 10 mins. They need to describe on their website which exit to take from the shinkansen, particularly when you are lugging suitcases around.
Review 14:The staff were extremely polite and helpful, and it was right next to Central Park where there was a festival going on. They even provided a newspaper in English for use in the dining room at breakfast time.
Review 15:Women staffs ,few of them are unhelpful. But most of male reception are excelllent. I don't know why either. When we want to upgrade women staff told unconsistency price and seem unsincere but male staff when we asked for upgrade price, check out time and etc. They said the same. But when we asked female receptions they said differrence. Sorry that we cross checked so we felt tricky some about this hotel when talking wit female reception .
Review 16:Location,everything average like common hotel in japan.
Review 17:Hotel situated in a great location. Right adjacent to busy shopping district. Room not spacious, as usual with Japanese hotels in big metropolis. But it is comfortable and clean. Would stay again if return-visiting Nagoya. Recommended.
Review 18:Would have preferred a breakfast buffet rather than limited fixed menu option.
Review 19:Location location! Just across the road from Central Park / oasis 21 for futuristic evening skywalk and a stones throw from shopping restaurant district.
Review 20:Didn't do the breakfast. Expensive compaired to all breakfast options in Aichi/gifu area. Any coffeeshop offers the style breakfast for the price of a cup of coffee.
Review 21:Location is great. Staff is friendly. Hotel is clean and smells clean. Best beds in the world for us. Big bathroom. Internet...(bit slow) but FREE. Walking distance from all the shopping, central park and subway.
Review 22:Double bed room is small.
Review 23:The lady working at day time (I forgot her name in Japanese) speaks very good English, I'm grateful that she helped a lot as there were some issues re my reservations. Also, she provided great suggestions when we asked for good local restaurants and seafood market. We all enjoyed the food there. The hotel also provided baby bed for us that really helped (they have only 1 baby bed so need to request in advance). The twin room is really big with reasonable price. Location is excellent. We enjoyed the stay at Trusty very much.
Review 24:Although the rooms were small, they were cosy and meant that you went out to explore the city.
Review 25:The hotel was in an amazing central, location. In the middle of the city, a great little coffee place next door. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was amazing value for the cost. I would definitely recommend.
Review 26:Great location and nice rooms - train station just outside and it's the central station that connects all of the lines so you can go anywhere basically without needing to change over
Review 27:Small rooms, even though it was advertised as a lager room
Review 28:The Hotel supplied everything I requested through Booking.com - highroom, quiet room, good, cool air-conditioning, not near the elevator. Can't ask for more than that!
Review 29:The room is quite small, but its common to find in Japan.
Review 30:One minute walk from the Sakae Station. Many hopping malls, restaurants and underground shopping street nearby. I would definitely stay here if I visit Nogaya again.
Review 31:Booked 2 rooms for a family of 4 with young children. Each room was adjacent to the other but only a double bed in each room. Rooms very small and windows faced a concrete wall of the next building. No view.
Review 32:Close to Central Shopping in Sakae, Easy access to Subway. Clean rooms and bathroom.
Review 33:No air-conditioning, rather small room.
Review 34:Entrance to Sakae subway is literally a few steps away. Central Park, Nagoya TV Tower, Don Quijote and the shopping hotspots are conveniently nearby the hotel. Clean. Very friendly and helpful staffs. Reasonable price for peak season and its location.
Review 35:The hotel had a stale and mold smell to it. There was no air condition at all even thought the Booking ad says there is one. The air conditioner is only a heater the staff and manager told us. Young people frequent this hotel and are way too wild for the price we paid. Not going here again at all even if they paid me too!
Review 36:wearrived to find they had put us in an "internal room" I.e. Tiny window on the inside of the building looking at a wall and virtually no natural light. Rooms are tiny, but we couldn't put up with that room, was claustrophobic, so we were moved, of course at an extra charge to "standard room with window. However, would have been very annoyed if the hotel was full. staff not nearly as friendly as all other hotels we have stayed at in Japan. Over all not too impressed.
Review 37:Bed was nice.
Review 38:We had noisy neighbors that made a lot of noise when they return late at night. We arrived half an hour earlier but the staff told us to wait and only gave us the room key after the check-in timing.
Review 39:Very near the shopping district and restaurants.
Review 40:Location was great, just across around the corner from central park and shopping areas. Car wouldn't fit in their garage, they paid for parking elsewhere.
Review 41:Rooms were a little tight to move around, and beds were hard on the back. Otherwise, our family adapted
Review 42:We like the location, close to shops, restaurants, and parks. We saw interesting buildings, one with a ferris wheel, loved the display of lights. Japan is a beautiful country, Our family will come back again and will look forward to staying at the Hotel Trusty Nagoya Sakae.
Review 43:Toilet & bathroom: Cleanliness was ok quite clean and for twin room the toilet was big compare to other hotel. The think i dont like is the scales of toilet bowl, sink, and shower. it's a bit shorter than average (but normal for japan)
Review 44:Staffs: Hotel staffs (front desk) were very helpful. Their english is quite good. They also provided me in depth information about the place i would like to go. With their help, they provide me subway map and also printed detail and google map of the place i would like to visit. Location: very excellent location walk just 20m. and cross a 6 lane road to main shopping area. Donki, the 24 hour shop located just opposite side of the road. Otherwise the hotel is near shopping and crowned area, the hotel itself is really quiet.
Review 45:We booked two rooms, one for four people and the other for two, but it turn out 3 rooms for 2 people. They don't have room for four, but we saw a room next to us is bigger with 2 beds, which is for four, we ask the front desk, they said hotel is fully booked.
Review 46:Very good location, just a door step to subway, near shopping and eat.
Review 47:Tiny room, really tight if you have luggage. No complimentary coffee in room weird for a business style hotel. Not a memorable stay for any good our bad reasons. Nonplussed
Review 48:Location is superb, hotel is fine overall, nothing to complain about. Staff quite helpful when we needed to call abroad. Otherwise staff a bit cold.
Review 49:Room very compact; lack of closet space (only four hangers); no drawers to put things in; bed against wall (but moveable); only two pillows provided as standard (upon request, housekeeping will bring more); rooms mainly face nearby buildings, so limited or no views; inner rooms face air shaft making them a bit gloomy and claustrophobic; TV lacks channels in English; tiny bar fridge; no ingredients for coffee; no safe in room; no map of Nagoya in English at reception; frosted, single-glazed window (prefer double for soundproofing); checkout at 11 a.m. (midday would be more reasonable) with pro rata payment required for even minimal time, for instance one hour, beyond (excessively bureaucratic).
Review 50:Acceptable for price, facilities and location given hotel standards in Japan; short walk from Sakae station H10 (Higashiyama Line), shops, convenience stores (FamilyMart, 711), restaurants, department stores (Mitsukosi, others) and some tourist attractions (TV Tower, others); across Central Park from tourist office (in basement of Oasis 21 shopping center) and Nagoya Sightseeing Bus stop (near TV Tower); reception staff with sufficient English pleasant and cooperative; room clean and well maintained; full set of toiletries, and slippers and pajamas provided; cable Internet and hot water worked well; air conditioning adequate, window with privacy and room darkening curtains partially openable; housekeeping was reliable and thorough.
Review 51:There was no coin laundry machine available like other hotels i stayed before which i can do my own laundry.
Review 52:The location is very good near to Oasis 21 and the TV tower. A few minutes walk from the subway exit. Many eateries nearby too.
Review 53:Location was good as only less than 2 minutes walk from the Sakae Subway Station. Oasis 21 just across the road. The hotel staff's services were good, they provide storage for my baggage and even send my baggage to the room when we re-checked in the hotel again after 2 days.
Review 54:Japanese Hotel rooms are generally small, this was no exception.
Review 55:efficient check in and out, good spot with lots of attractions nearby (ie walking distance)
Review 56:Nothing
Review 57:Small hotel, service was excellent,we were able to buy Meguru tickets at hotel and reception organised to send our luggage onto Kyoto. Very friendly and obliging. Rooms small however clean and comfortable. Very handy location to shops, restaurants and subway
Review 58:The hotel room is much smaller than we thought, and the furniture is old and the TV is mall. The front desk staff's English can be further improved. They can understand us and reply with simple words, but we cannot count on them to introduce us any good restaurants or any scenes around the hotel.
Review 59:The staff and their services are superior. We once asked the front desk if we could borrow a knife to cut the melon we bought, and they simply asked us to leave the melon to them and about 10 minutes later, they sent the well-cut fruit up to our room with a plate and forks. How wonderful the service is.
