Review 1：All the other things were not fine, the " heated" pool was freezing cold, the pool inside costs money, and is closed for children, the tennis field is out of order because it is very bad quality, one person at the reception was very inpolote, the other facilities like internet and sports were not working well, restaurants around were closed, what you see at internet is not what you get!

Review 18：Receptionists not as helpful as I had hoped. On one occasion I was waiting to be attended at reception and the lady was on the phone, she finished her call and the phone rang again, but instead of attending me she picked up the phone which I felt was not very correct. The cleaning of our room was also sporadic and not at a particularly high standard, on return from the beach on our first day we dropped a bit of sand on the sideboard when emptying my bag...and the sand was still there 4 days later when we left.

The pool- the spa- the location to the beach- the mini golf- the grassy areas and the playground- the buffets for breakfast and dinner offered a good variety and the Alla carte items were delicious! The room was spacious and the balcony offered a great view! The staff even had a bottle of bubbly and a fruit platter in our room as we were celebrating our anniversary!

Review 25：There were not enough choices on the dinner buffet and what we did have was just ok. The Wi-Fi password we were given did not work. We only stayed one night so did not try again.

Review 30：We had to take breakfast at 7am before the restaurants normal time of 8am because of our flight times. Although we gave prior notice The room was in darkness and it took a while to find someone to 'open up' as it were. There was cereal etc but the bread rolls and bread were obviously over from the previous day which was disappointing in a hotel of otherwise impeccable standards.

Review 37：A quieter location than some of the other Agarve beaches, which was nice. You can walk for miles and miles on the beach. Fitness facility was excellent, as was the restaurant for all the meals.

Review 38：The party of ten arrived at about 9.30pm and we wanted dinner. By the time we were ready after a very hectic day travelling, I felt that we were being rushed to order our food and drinks and our room no's. It could have been done better? I did mentioned that if they were in a hurry we could elsewhere. After that we were quite happy.

Nice area, quiet, with a few restaurants and bars. Close to large town if you need more excitement. All meals were very good

Review 44：Very dissapointing there was no wifi available. We were told on arrival (after requesting for lthe log in code) that it was not availble for a day or so. When I asked again 2 days later they said it was still not available and when pressed couldnt give me a date.It still wasnt working when we left after 9 nights there. They did let people use their PC in the lounge but clearly it is very different to having wifi in the romm as advertised. Surely it cant be that difficult to fix.

Review 86：Nothing really, some of the older staff could be a little friendlier, had the impression sometimes that they are more used to guests from other nationalities but other than that all good!

Review 87：Lovely location with direct access to Altura beach, walk half an hour in each direction along beach and you'll find other beach bars/cafés, and it is a truly beautiful beach with white sand. Hotel looks a bit dated from outside as it is older style property but has been modernised inside, and is clean and lovely. All rooms have ocean views. Altura is quiet out of season as it is a small village but this was perfect for us! There were still plenty of places to eat in the evenings, both traditional Portuguese and staples like Pizza if that's your thing. Supermarkets 5-10mn walk if you want to buy snacks etc. for a day on the beach or just eat near the pool at the hotel. I was travelling with my Mum and would say the clientele is generally in their 40's/50's/60's and families, not too many English people (which appealed to us as nice to have a mix of all nationalities). Altura is very flat so it's a good place to run and cycle if you want to train and stay fit whilst on holiday. You can take trips to other nearby villages and towns on this part of the coast so plenty to do for a week if you want to do more than sit on the beach and the hotel runs a free shuttle to a few places so we didn't hire a car. There is a spa that looks nice but we didn't use the facilities as it was such lovely weather didn't want to spend time indoors, would be a nice thing to do if you have any cloudy or rainy days.

Review 88：None of the hotel staff seem to be happy in their work and I suspect a harsh management. (They even had a woman using a sledge hammer breaking up old furniture.) The food in the restaurant at breakfast was greasy and generally of a poor standard I suspect the cheapest of the cheap ham and cheeses. Coffee was either week and watery or cold. Again the staff couldn't wait to clear the tables but still no smiles. Our room (a suite) was a joke! Their idea of a suite is a corridor with a table in it and a single bed wedged between the wall. We never had our in room coffee replenished. No milk. The bathroom was very small and poorly equipped. No shaver socket. Soaps where not replaced once during our 6 night stay.

Review 89：The local village has some reasonable food places. As a touring base on the spanish border its OK

Review 90：The Spa and Welness centre is not included. It needs to be paid as an extra, which is fine since this ensures the place isn't too crowded.

Review 91：We received a free room upgrade to one of the hotel's available suites. Breakfast buffet was ok, although I was expecting more diversity. No crowd at the Spa and Welness centre. There were just a couple of more people in the pool for the whole day. Water was at 31ºC.

Review 92：The Wifi was an absolute disgrace i am business man trying to catch up on work while on holiday for the whole time i was their the Wifi did not work. I think they should state that they are not able to provide Wifi rather than lie and tell you its available. The food was of a very poor standard after eating their on arrival i had to eat elsewhere every other day and skip the complimentary breakfast.

Review 98：The wi fi access during our visit was intermittent and often non existent in our room (8th floor). We had to o downstairs to get online. Uk tv also poor. But this may be connected with the recent BBC and ITVsatellite switch off in Europe.

Review 101：Good location next to the beach. Sea view, good parking, not too big a hotel, great rooms with nice touches like tea making fruit, water. We were upgraded to a suite. We stayed in February and found it great value. Really nice decor inside and pool side area. There was a Buffet we choose the a la carte. The food was great.

Review 102：Note these are *very* minor points: initially we had a small problem with the door leading onto our balcony (it wouldn't lock), although being on the 6th floor it wasn't really a problem! Maintenance fixed it quickly, but the problem returned just before the end of our stay. We also had a problem with the A/C - first the heating option (we stayed in December) wouldn't work, but after it was fixed (very quickly!) we then had difficulty turning it off! In both cases the initial problems were dealt with immediately, but we checked out before the subsequent problems could be addressed.

Review 103：We were given a free upgrade to a suite (booked a triple room) when we arrived, which is absolutely ideal for families with older children. In terms of cleanliness, if it were possible to give a higher rating, I would! Wi-Fi access in the rooms is excellent, and the staff extremely friendly and helpful.

Review 113：Very good overall. Staff friendly and helpful. For us, we prefer dining room service rather than self-service but the food was good and plentiful - quickly replenished. Access to the sea - perfect, surroundings perfect. Every room has a balcony with seating and is facing the sea and beach. Quiet area and an excellent restaurant a few doors down. About 15 mins in car to Spain so further exploration easy and we visited the countryside nearby - headed up to Alcoutim and followed the wonderful river back down to Altira.

Review 114：The hotel is superb in every way. There isn't a great deal to 'do' in Altura or the hotel (there is a gym/fitness centre however) but that's exactly what we wanted, a total-relax holiday. The pool, sunloungers and surrounding areas were always clean and tidy, and the staff ever-helpful. The beach bar is run by the hotel and drinks are the same price as the hotel.

Review 116：We loved the location, the facilities, the pool, the a la carte menu and especially the kids club. The staff were friendly and the overall mood of the place was relaxed. All the rooms face the sea. Altura is quiet (this time of year anyway), but there are some nice restuarants. The beach, goes on and on for miles and it is really stunning. You can walk for hours in either direction.

Review 117：Attend by foreigners, mostly (90%) old people and quite unconfortable with children. The wifi exists but does not work. Children are not allowed to the interior pool after 16h00. Staff adresses guests in English, this is totally unacceptable.

We ate at the restaurant next to the hotel (a Chaimaine) two of the nights. Yummy food and very friendly service. Great for kids.

Review 125：My wife and I have been going to Eurotel-Altura since it was firstinagurated, we have as you can imagine gone to many others but alwaysend up at Altura, when there's a room vaccant! About three years agothey had different staff at reception, two young girls and because we gothere about once every month they gave us a 10% discount and even anupgrade on our room! The girls are gone now but we had an upgrade thistime round..Great! The hotel is very clean, the dinning room spaciouseand bright and the staff very attentive. Guests are provided withentertainment in the evenings, which is rather good but perhaps noiseyfor our liking. Children have an excellent chap who gives them a chanceto practice different sports, games and even outings! We love seeing theyounger visitors enjoy themselves in the play areas etc. Yes we loveEurotel! Louis
