Reviews for Albergo del Teatro
Review 1:Nothing
Review 2:We loved Albergo del Teatro! We were greeted by Jada with the warmest smile and welcome, that continued throughout our stay, it was always a pleasure to come 'home'! (The other girl was lovely also) The hotel is situated right in the old town, within easy walking distance of everything. We had a wonderful view of the valley from our window and the room was clean with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was great, homemade cakes and fruit salad, yoghurt, croissants, served on the covered terrace with an amazing view. Great walk close to hotel along the Roman viaduct through olive groves to Collepino, a 'must do'. All in all a fabulous stay, would loved to have stayed longer.
Review 3:We loved the people and their considerateness. They didn't get in our way but somehow anticipated our every need. The breakfast was not over the top but just right and the upstairs terrace has a phenomenal view. We did a lot of walking and loved our time in Spello
Review 4:Unfortunately, the street outside the hotel was being redone, so that was noisy, but that was not the hotel's fault
Review 5:I was given a choice of rooms, with a view, no a/c or no view, a/c. No contest. A whole proper king size bed to myself. Plenty of room in the bathroom for toiletries. The staff were lovely. They even gave me a lift down to the station. Wonderful view from my room and terrace. One suggestion. Get a taxi from the station or phone the hotel for help. It's a real hike up that hill with a case, especially if your handles fall off halfway up the hill as mine did!
Review 6:Spello is beautiful!, We had a room with a balcony and a view over the country side...gorgeous!! This hotel was in a fantastic spot, friendly helpful staff, great food in spello, the highlight of our Italian holiday- Thankyou
Review 7:Spello, is a hill town in Umbria within walking distance to Assissi. It has a well earned reputation as a "foodie" destination. We ate the local salami and sausages, My favorite was Peccorino cheese studded with tiny truffle pieces !!
Review 8:I lived very much the balcony, the friendlness of the staff and the complete abscence of muzak
Review 9:Fantastic wiev from balcony. Charming city
Review 10:Everything was fantastic! The room, cleanliness, breakfast and especially the people who work there.
Review 11:The size of the rooms was generous, the view amazing!
Review 12:There wasn't enough hot water for showering
Review 13:The breakfast, wonderful views and friendly helpful staff
Review 14:I was the only person staying in this hotel for 2 nights straight. The hotel was located on the "very" noisy main street through the village! I was locked out of the hotel twice while I was there...because an older gentleman watching the hotel, kept locking the wrong door...a door I didn't have a key for! There was no air conditioning in the room although it was advertised. The breakfast was nice but had a very limited selection. The towel in my bathroom was not replaced the 3 nights I was there and I was not given a new bar of soap to wash with. The bar/fridge in the room was not stocked. I barely had a place to park each day because the locals were parking in the hotel parking area. One of my favorite villages, but can't really suggest this hotel to you, family and friends!!
Review 15:The young ladies were very helpful! There was internet in the room which is very helpful because I don't enjoy working in a hotel bar or lounge!
Review 16:Decor slightly gloomy and old-fashioned. Unfortunately it was too cold to have breakfast on the beautiful terrace and the lower ground floor breakfast room was rather dull; why not have breakfast just indoors from the terrace. Breakfast also rather unimaginative.
Review 17:Good position with lovely views. Being able to park in a private garage was good. Helpful and friendly staff.
Review 18:Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Had excellent local knowledge. The room facilities were exactly what was advertised. The location offered a magical view over the region from the breakfast terrace. The breakfast buffet was generous.
Review 19:Bed very firm. shower mouldy. Shower took forever to run hot water and then kept on cutting out. Constant tapping/dripping noise in the night which kept waking us up. Staff entered our room at least twice whilst we were out every day to tidy our rooms.
Review 20:Excellent reception staff. Nice view for breakfast from the terrace. Quaint little town. Quiet area.
Review 21:I liked everything. The location in the heart of the old city, the staff, the rooms, the breakfast on the open terrace overlooking the vista, the many very good restaurants and bars within a minutes walk.
Review 22:The staff were extra helpful and friendly, the whole hotel was extra clean, location was beautiful, room and bathroom were great. Overall this was a great start to the trip.
Review 23:Needs wiFi in the rooms, only available in lobby
Review 24:On our back roads trip through Italy this was a perfect stop. The hotel is very quaint and breakfast is served on an open patio overlooking a picturesque mountain setting. Silvia, the proprietor, went out of her way to make our stay a pleasant one.
Review 25:Public parking nearby if you're in luck otherwise longer walk from outside walled area.
Review 26:Really convenient location within walled part of Spello. Rooms were comfortable, clean and well furnished. Breakfast area enjoys magnificent views over local countryside. Staff were attentive and helpful.
Review 27:There was nothing to dislike
Review 28:The attention from the receptionists made our holiday there complete. They were super. The location in Spello was ideal. The hotel was very clean and comfortable with super views from the terrace
Review 29:Wonderful staff, very helpful and so kind, wonderful town, wonderful trekking routes, woderful food and wine. I will visit and stay here probably every year.
Review 30:Breakfast was fairly basic.
Review 31:The staff were very friendly. The room is very large and well appointed. Good location, at higher end of town. We were able to park our car for free. Spello is a very pretty village.
Review 32:This is a superb hotel in every way. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. So clean with fabulous views and a splendid breakfast. Cannot recommend too highly
Review 33:Room 102 could use some minor upgrades to the bathroom. While it is large, clean and well-appointed, it lacks storage and shelving. There was no shelf at all - not even a soap tray - in the shower. Also, the shower valve, shower head, and sink fixture in this bathroom, while functional, should be replaced.
Review 34:If you like the idea staying in the midst of an Umbrian hill town, Spello is a fine choice and this is a wonderful hotel, in a great village location with the most fantastic staff - always friendly, helpful, professional, and very accommodating. There is adjacent free parking, a great feature in hilly Spello. The hotel is a very well-done contemporary restoration of an 18th century building. Room 102 is large double with a very comfortable queen bed, clean, contemporary furnishings, lots of storage, large window view over village roofs down to rural valley (this room is directly below the viewing terrace). It is a quiet, private, comfortable room. Continental breakfast is served on lovely terrace with classic Umbria views Free WiFi is available (in common lounge area). I highly recommend Albergo del Teatro as a base while visiting Umbria.
