Reviews for Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort
Review 1:Had difficulties in seating at main restaurant due to indicisive guidance of stuffs. Then again, restaurant manager was great and helped us in those occasions. Also breakfast menus didn't change for 5 days.
Review 2:Pretty much all except what I wrote above. Special thanks to restaurant manager Peachy (hope I'm spelling alright)
Review 3:Visited the resort on weekdays and found the place so relaxing and serene. Will surely go back again. Food is quite expensive and there is a nearby restaurant where you can dined the night out with lots of choices to suit your taste.
Review 4:I upgraded when I check in and they only explained about the upgrading fee. But when I check out they costed me a upgrading fee and accommodation fee separately. If there are extra cost occur, they should explain or mention it when we make decision. It was a most unpleasant experience I ever had with the this kind of resort.
Review 5:Staff is not well trained on meeting expectations of western travelers. They have a tendency to treat you like you are trying to do something wrong. Felt like I was in school or being watched by my parents. The staff is very distrustful of the guests. This is not a place where the customer is always right in fact it seems to be a place where the customer is always wrong and always trying to pull a fast one in the eyes of the staff.
Review 6:The grounds are beautiful.
Review 7:Renovations were being made so during the day you'd have hammering and welding being done beside the amuma spa pool and rooms. With the spa towards the front and main road you could also hear the traffic during your treatments which ruined the experience a bit. The water in the showers/taps was very weak and actually smelled like sulfur so you never really felt clean. I also found the beds to be very firm while the pillows were very soft so after a full body massage I would still have a stiff back the next morning the negated the whole process.
Review 8:The staff were great but I think that is something in general to the Philippines - people are always smiling and warm and happy to help. The spa was lovely with a great attention to the interior design and professional staff. The drinks. The shakes here are so refreshing and the Italian pizzas are also really great.
Review 9:A bit pricey compare to the other resort. Not too much going on for kids to keep them occupied.
Review 10:My daughter liked the water slide. Allegro restaurant is superb.
Review 11:If you get the wrong room (near the road) it can noisy, our friends had to move room.
Review 12:The facilities here are good with a choice of three pools. The food and drinks are well priced considering what some other hotels in the area charge.
Review 13:Rhyz O. Buac, the General Manager is running an Epic First Class resort!Every one of his staff are friendly, helpful and always wearing asincere smile! The delicious breakfast buffet cannot be beat! Thebungalow was very spacious, clean with 2 queen size Floating Beds thatwas very comfortable. Massage and Spa was very soothing and relaxing! Mywife, daughter and I can't express the our fondest - Salamat! If ourschedule and time permits, we plan on returning to what I would callMaribago Blue Water Resorts the "Philippines Fantasy Island!"special note: I fell and injured both shins. I told him I was okay. Rhyz took it upon himself and sent his nurse to examine and treat me while I was enjoying their DELICIOUS breakfast buffet. Rhyz is FANTASTIC!
Review 14:The pictures give you the impression the beach is good. It is not when the tide is out. Polluted and weedy. Plus what they show is used for functions so some days you cannot go there
Review 15:The breakfast was good
Review 16:the beach is a bit sad compared to so of the others we bin at
Review 17:Really luxury resort !!! Awesome in every way though was the beach not the best, awesome brackfast, awesome seafood and spa department
Review 18:Very expensive shuttle service from the airport to the resort. They asked us to pay 1250 Pesos and we booked and agreed, because we arrived during the night and didn't know about local taxi prices. but you always get a taxi and also during the night you don't have to pay more than 300 Pesos!!!! We feel cheated by the hotel.
Review 19:Very friendly staff, especially the ladys from the kids club have been loved by our kids. Very clean room. Good breakfast buffet. Kids loved the slide at the pool. Pools are all very clean.Complete resort very nice and calm (although it was fully booked it never feels crowded)
Review 20:We felt that the food was overpriced for the quality, and we ate most of our meals outside of the resort. Beach and lagoon were not great for swimming, water seemed very stagnant. They should move the smoking area away from the children's play area and toilets, this was really unpleasant, and not allow adults to smoke next to the children's pool.
Review 21:The buffet breakfast was varied and plentiful. The children's playroom was great for our 2 and 4yr old, while our 12 year old enjoyed the ping pong and pool tables that were right outside the playroom. Staff were all warm and friendly and interacted with our children. The pool by our room was amazing (spa suite end), and we made use of the fitness room.
Review 22:Value for money. Pricey especially the amuma spa. Priced for foreigners. How about for the average pinoys? Shiatsu at min of 2800, expensive than a specialty spa here in mla
Review 23:Low key and relaxing stay The breakfast buffet The staff are nicd
Review 24:Noise from neighbouring bar or hotel late into the night. Had to call front desk, and eventually asked to have the police alerted and have the noise reported in hopes that this would be brought to the attention of the municipality. Such noise levels, especially the bass, has to be controlled officially. I don't hold this establishment or its neighbour responsible. The DJ, as I informed the front desk and security may not be aware of the level of noise they create. The music was turned off after my request was attended to, though I only requested for the bass to be turned down.
Review 25:Staff and food were very good. Best cookies, freshly baked by its own kitchen, on sale in the Bluewater gallery. Best freshly made pizza made in stone oven. The older rooms towards the front has a lived in feel, very clean and generous in space. Plumbing needs to be renovated. Super deluxe room by the beach are newly built, excellently done. Noise from neighbouring bar or hotel carries over ruining the peace and calm marketed by this Bluewater Resort. Best to buy out their space and expand for more walking/jogging path, garden meditation and yoga space, and more of its naturally inspired accomodation. Best of luck for future success. Looking forward to potential realised.
Review 26:The water from the tap was sea water. When we asked for extra towels, we were told that we would charged for them.
Review 27:The staff were really friendly and helpful. The holiday decorations around the resort were beautiful.
Review 28:The reserve booking was not in the list of reserve visitors even if we give them the reservation number. They ask a printed copy of the reservation to confirm. It takes time to resolve the issue and we have to wait for an hour. The door has no double lock and its not safe for the occupants.
Review 29:The ambiance is good and consistent with native filipino culture
Review 30:The water in the faucet and shower has salt water. I ended up getting gum sores. Staffs are less attentive. Maribago Cove is overpriced too. I suggest you go outside the resort for Seafood.
Review 31:Diverse facilities, nice architecture
Review 32:Breakfast is "okay" standard only. Have reasonable choices but lacks the usual stuff like sausages and baked beans. There are a number of pools in the hotel but all of them are small. The beach is so-so in terms of water quality (since there are a lots of seaweeds) and was told that there are sea urchins which could be dangerous. Tap water is a bit salty so not recommended for you to drink it (even after boiled).
Review 33:1. Stayed in both Amuma Spa Suite (because of the typhoon which caused the beach side wing closed) and Premier Deluxe Room (which I originally booked). The Amuma Spa Suite is quite dated and the premier deluxe room is much better value (only 15 USD more per night). The premier deluxe room was near the beach and is relatively newly furbished. We can see the sea from the room door. (It cost more for directly sea facing but as not much to see, so not worth it). 2. Free wi-fi within the hotel and the speed was quite good. 3. Location-wise, it has a Savemore supermarket within walking distance and there is a massage place (around 10 USD per hour for foot massage) next to the supermarket (and there is also one outside the hotel entrance. There are also stalls that sells roast chicken and fruits near the supermarket. 4. The staff are friendly but the check in staff was not very efficient (took over 15 mins for check in. However, when I walked past him the next day, he remembered my name.) 5. About 25 mins from the airport so quite okay (taxi fare around 7 USD).
Review 34:We had requested an early check in, as we were taking a red eye flight to Cebu. The resort told us depending on availability they could accommodate our request and would not charge any extra fees. Upon check in, a bungalow was available and they still charged us an early check in fee. I showed them my email but basically wouldn't honor it so we were charged an early checkin fee. With 4 young very tired children I reluctantly paid the fee.
Review 35:We reserved the Royal Bungalow and thought it was perfect for our family. Situated directly on the beach kids had the option of running straight out to snorkel in the lagoon or run right behind and jump in the pool. The rooms were spacious and we never felt crowded, especially with 2 baths. Breakfast buffet was plentiful especially for 4 picky young eaters and also felt the resort food was good and fairly priced.
Review 36:I can say the location must have been marvellous before someone in the past years built orrific buildings all around, especially at west side right at the point where the sun set and you could have had an amazing view instead of those horrible cement blocks. A piece of paradise on the earth completely ruined by the hands of human beings. Most of the entertainments and facilities are offered by third parts (near islands escursions, diving, paraglide, etc.) but nodoby in the hotel told me about those opportunities. The cleanless can be improved. At my arrival the room telephone was very dirty (I can't imagine was what on it...) and after asking device change they brought another one which was less dirty but still a lot of dust and sand on it. I had to clean it by myself since the room service person seemed to be not able to perform a complete and correct cleaning (it seemed like it was normal to have a certain amount of dust on the telephone). The bathroom... well, I was in Amuma Suite and the bathroom is nice designed but... the stones of which the paviment is made, even makes it romantically similar to a beach, it leaves many doubts regarding the way they can clear under there, since I do not think they will remove the stones everytime a guest check-out. A normal tiles flooring would maybe have been less nice but definitely more clean. The bathroom shower head was full of scale and I had to clean it by myself in order to have a satisfactory water delivery from it. And overall there was no shower hose, it was very hard to have a good shower getting water only from above. I wonder how they think one should take a good shower...The bathtube was very old and dirty. I can't imagine why nobody pay attention to it.The room was furnished of two closet but... they where both in the bathroom! I mean... everytime you have to take clothes or anything else you need to have access to toilet... come on... even the safety box was located there.
Review 37:The location is nice. Peaceful. The resort is really nice designed, many pools available but few other facilities to entertain the guests (2 restaurants one with dinner time show, 1 tabletennis, 1 biliardo, 1 souvenir shop). The staff is extremely kind and helpful. After the resort total design, they are the best part I think. Food is not bad at all, and despite I am vegan, the did all effort to try to arrange something adapted to my special diet, even when asked over the closing hours of restaurants. I felt happy for that.
Review 38:I liked everything... the place, the very friendly staff, the view, the food. I've never had that much breakfast buffet... Yumm! What a feast. We loved it there. So glad my daughter found the place, it was a winner.
Review 39:Prices at the restaurant and for snorkeling trips are outrageous The beach bar closes at 10pm If you don't want to eat at the hotel or at the Maribago Grill there are not many options without having to take a taxi
Review 40:The room and the bathroom Good wifi in room The pool Very child friendly but that might not appeal to people without kids
Review 41:The running water was salty so they gave us pitchers of water to brushour teeth. The problem was solved. I appreciated their timely response.
Review 42:I liked the ambience of the resort-Filipino style. The room was largeand nice. There was plenty to eat for breakfast. The facilities weregood. The private beach was clean.
Review 43:The beach in front the hotel isn't that great, although there are some islands around there worth to visit and good for snorkeling. The prices for the tours are a little expensive. Outside the hotel there is nothing: just very poor houses and a not very good street, especially at night. The hotel hasn't interesting night activities, so the only choice is stay there and do nothing or take a taxi and go the city
Review 44:The hotel is very nice: is made of many bungalows on the beach and it's really relaxing. The staff is very smiling and kind, ready to help for every need. For breakfast there is a good choice of food.
Review 45:Not all were given the welcome drinks...Food quality and taste is very good but too much expensive...Must add on the menu food stuff's from the province itself...Toiletries incomplete...
Review 46:Excellent front desk Supervisor who catered for our fast check in process...Very accommodating staff... The kids love the adobo rice...very tasty...
Review 47:Good swimming pools, restaurants and a very good staff!
Review 48:Resort was fantastic. Three different restaurants, three different swimming areas, very friendly staff.
Review 49:Out of three pools one should be restricted to adults only
Review 50:Great pool awesome sundowners
Review 51:Everything was great
Review 52:Great staff. The resort is excellent.
Review 53:We couldn't use the beach due to low tide
Review 54:Great service of staff as always. Clean and well tended facilities.
Review 55:Nice place for Family with young children.
Review 56:No activity center and beach was not cleaned
Review 57:Buffet breakfast
Review 58:Little bit old
Review 59:Location(close to market) beach was beautiful Room service was nice
Review 60:Friendly staff. Great manager. Very relaxing resort. Not a standard hotel, but a resort. Very nice indeed.
Review 61:Renovation to noisy
Review 62:Beach
Review 63:not much choice of types of food, breakfast poor and waiter service slow
Review 64:lovely room, nice location
Review 65:Facilities like pool can only use not later than 8pm while swimming at the low tide beach is until 5pm
Review 66:Bad wifi
Review 67:Kids friendly and accessible to everything
Review 68:If you are looking for rest and relaxation, this is your place. Nice facilities, staff are friendly and helpful
Review 69:정말 낡았습니다. very old resort!
Review 70:Breakfast buffet is excellent.
Review 71:Clean and friendly staff.
Review 72:The beach was very small and the sand of very poor quality
Review 73:The breakfast buffet was fabulous!!! We really enjoyed the 3 pools
Review 74:You cannot swing because the sea is too shallow.
Review 75:The facilities inside the hotel are quite ok, clean and neat. The staff is kind and helpful
Review 76:food was a bit expensive
Review 77:staff were very friendly the grounds were fantastic all round great resort
Review 78:Superior and deluxe rooms need refurbishing . We changed to a spa room and far better quality furniture etc . Worth extra money
Review 79:Pools, food, beach
Review 80:Restaurant are good!
Review 81:Shallow water at beach.
Review 82:Quietness and cleanliness
Review 83:all of the stuff is so friendly
Review 84:Pool, food was great..
Review 85:the room is big and clean i like the shower room its different .
Review 86:Smell in bathroom, I found if you put a wet rag on drain on floor it keeps the bad smell out.
Review 87:Great food, lots to do . Staff was very pleasant .
Review 88:to much seaweed
Review 89:love the breakfast the smile of the employees the swimming pools were great
Review 90:There is two much to say what i didnt like about the place and would never stay there again, the prices for food and drinks is totally astounding and the resturants were empty ,Guests go outside to eat becuse it is far cheaper and totally disgusted with the place
Review 91:The royal bungalow room (109 A&B) is noisy & dusty considering the ongoing construction is just across the room. We asked to be transferred to another room.
Review 92:The beach & the swimming pools are ok. Foods & entertainment during dinner is superb. It's our 2nd stay in the resort.
Review 93:The room assigned to us is on the 2nd floor and far from the facilities. They give priority to foreigner guest that locals in my opinion it should be fair.
Review 94:Rooms absolutely not soundproof. To be avoided at any cost for honeymooncouples. For those who can sleep in old furniture and with a lot ofnoise, that's a reasonable place. Better speak a bit of Coreanlanguage as 95% of the guest are from Korea.
Review 95:Services from restaurant staffs aint efficient. Took a long time for beers to arrive and item we ordered didnt arrive too.
Review 96:Amnum Spa Suite suited us very well as it is a non-smoking area. All facilities are great.
Review 97:Location, There is nothing to do in the surroundings of the resort
Review 98:Nice resort, good and spatious room, great breakfast, friendly and service-minded staff, free wifi in some public areas
Review 99:This hotel is a rip-off. Once you get inside, they will charge you high for everything you do, including eat. They charged me the equivalent of 50 Euros for a dinner buffett of grilled meat and fish, where all the meat and fish were frozen and tasteless. This is an extremely high price and low service for Philippines standards. The value for money of this hotel is very low
Review 100:The staff is friendly and attentive The facilities are good
Review 101:Housekeeping restrict coffee and sugar satchets to a few a day....I understand it is a 4 star hotel and was disappointed on this. Hot water was just lukewarm. The sandbar opened only till 5 pm, which was too early. Service by staff ranged from average to poor. TV was not working at one stage.
Review 102:Hotel provide white slippers, which was thoughtful and nice. Hotel loaned us a wifi modem which was great.
Review 103:45 minutes for check in and same time for check out. no evening activities restaurant with no standard and overprice
Review 104:two of the staff was really nice and efficent . they make our stay nice
Review 105:Food very expensive, or had to take long drive by taxi, beach water dirty, water sports too expensive.
Review 106:Nice place and facilities, very friendly staff, excellent breakfast, overall enjoyed.
Review 107:For the price we paid, we got a suite in the newer wing of the resort, the Amuma Spa Suite, beautiful bathroom, but the sleeping area is poor. Beds and linen very bad quality, room cleanliness was bad. Our AC was not working and the staff took so long to offer a remedy until I informed them that I wanted my money back and wanted to leave. They first offered to move us to a room next to construction wc we rejected. Finally they gave us a room with ok AC. Most staff were very friendly. There is a small cove between the beach front and a small islet, this area could have been cleaned of weeds and sea urchins so kids can swim safely. Overall it was overpriced, we expected reasonable service and higher standard accommodations - they need to revisit this to be more competitive. I will not recommend this hotel at the price they are asking for.
Review 108:The resort is pretty and the lay out is very friendly, pools are great.
Review 109:The mattress was not so comfortable. Airconditioner needs to be changed. (none-renovated room) very old and noisy.
Review 110:The staffs were very kind and they tried to listen to the customer's voice carefully also willing to do what they can do the best regarding my request. We spent very pleasant time there regardless of some minor issues.
Review 111:Nothing. Best holiday we have had. Would highly recommend.
Review 112:Everything. Warm friendly staff, excellent rooms, fine choice of food. Can't wait to go back!
Review 113:- The price was expensive for what you'll be getting. But not too much considering it's a resort and offered a lot of facilities free for use.- Air conditioning unit on first day of arrival had to be fixed for less than an hour. It started to create a small pool 5 minutes after we've settled in. For the rate you'd pay for, one shouldn't have had this problem in the first place. - Our Beach View Hut (Room 139) continuously had crawly guests. First night was more than a 4-inch long centipede that crawled from the sink while I was washing my face! The 2nd day was a small millipede and 2nd night was a small beetle. - Limited time to swim in the pools. It wasn't as clean as one could have hoped. - The beach had red ants, so you couldn't really lie-down on it. But at least there were plenty of beach chairs to lie on, as well as a couple of hammock.
Review 114:I love the staff. They were very friendly and helpful. They'd go allthe way to help you and would meet you happily everywhere you gothroughout the resort.- The staff always got a cab for us and were very helpful to give local tips. - Breakfast wasn't disappointing—they offered quite a variety but it was almost the same everyday. My boyfriend loved the unlimited bacon. - They try to make up for bad facilities. On our early check-in day we were given free breakfast access to the buffet when our air conditioning unit had to be fixed. - There are various activities throughout the resort.
Review 115:Discrimanation of some staffs to locals. Mind you, we pay better thanwhom they think pays more.
Review 116:I just did not like, I feel in love with it. The entire set up was soperfect for a family outing. The recreation bar was strategically located and designed. My hubby and I can still play table tennis while watching over our kids in the playroom!
Review 117:That you have "guards" in the lobby telling you how to sit onthe couch the feet not to close to the matress with your shoes on, andthe next day you see a fat guy just lying on the couch, shoes andeverything on the matress and no one says anything!
Review 118:I loved that you have the lobby area with the fresh breeze. Youserve delicious chocolate. We had a flexible service, when we had tostay longer.
Review 119:Price for night is quite expansive. There not a lot to do outside thehotel so using the restaurants in the hotel for lunch / dinner willalso cost allot. Extra charge for Wi-Fi in the rooms
Review 120:Very fancy. Includes 3 swimming pools, a private beach & a privateisland! Breakfest is very good with lots of options. Amazing sharkspool, guest can feed the sharks once a day. Best place for honeymoon, romantic vacation, relaxation perfect place to close our 1 month trip tothe Philippines. Ping pong & pool tables for free use of the guests.
Review 121:check in/out hopeless, 1700 guest arriveing for one day seminar. Secluded area in Mactan. Breakfast boring and impossible logistic.
Review 122:Rooms are ok
Review 123:The beach and the room.
Review 124:nothing
Review 125:Staff are very friendly. Restrant also good. I enjoyed very much!
Review 126:to many business meetings and loud correlated activities on the beach.
Review 127:hotel facilities and food are excellent.
