Reviews for Cross Hotel Sapporo

Review 1:Perhaps more amentities for the children will be good. For eg kiddy slippers, kids toothbrush etc.

Review 2:Cross hotel's quadruple room is an excellent choice if you are traveling with young children. I have a pair of 3 yr old twins and they enjoyed the space as well as the nice bath tub!! The cost of the room is extremely reasonable. We had a car with us and the hotel has Parking facilities which means time saved walking with 2 grouchy kids in the cold!!

Review 3:The rooms didn't have a window to open so felt a bit stuffy. Nice spa up top - not a swimming pool which i thought it was!

Review 4:great breakfast, great location, room was lovely.

Review 5:Rooms are on the small side. We would've gotten a larger room/suite but everything was sold out.

Review 6:Cross Hotel was in a central location close to the JR station, restaurants and shopping areas. I loved the hotel and the concierge gave great Resto recommendations and helped us secure travel microbus arrangements for our large group even during peak season.

Review 7:Location is central to transport links. Superior doubles on the higher floors are significantly larger, and have better views, than standard doubles on lower floors. Efficient and friendly, English-speaking staff.

Review 8:Despite it being a relatively new hotel, it is not a foreigner friendly hotel. Basic things like remote control and TV instructions are all in Japanese. Believe it or not, I could not turn on the TV :-( without the assistance of the hotel staff.

Review 9:The hotel is relatively new. WIFI is good and staff is firendly

Review 10:Stayed in a regular twin room on first nite, room was very small. No room for bug luggagues.

Review 11:The executive twin room had a nice layout! Room was comfortable. Standup shower in public bath was good for those who don't prefter traditional washing facilities (sitting on stool to wash up)

Review 12:It's a rotating parking slot, it could take some time for the staff to retrieve our car when there were couple people also waiting for their cars

Review 13:This hotel is located in the prime location of Sapporo where many restaurants and some site seeing places around. The hotel is modern and well designed, if I come to Sapporo again I will definitely stay here.

Review 14:The check-in counter is on level 2 not level 1 and there were none to limited signage as to where it was upon entering at ground floor level 1. We were on level 10 and the corridors look dark and dreary, might be worth putting some art/pictures on the walls and complementary lighting to liven it up.

Review 15:Staff were very helpful and sweet. The car park attendant let us park our rental temporarily when we checked in without charge; and the staff noted that it was my wife's birthday and left a birthday note and chocolates. Location was also excellent, we walked everywhere.

Review 16:they don't clean the cups of the room very well also cleaning the room is limited form 9 A.M to 2 P.M

Review 17:modern design, location, comfort, event in the lower restaurant

Review 18:booked and paid for executive room got vey small room with no table and chairs to sit--- very expensive for what we got compared to other hotels in japan

Review 19:excellent breakfast

Review 20:Same kinds of breakfast for three days

Review 21:Because we have young children, we got free upgrade to a room with bigger bed. The staff is very helpful and nice.

Review 22:we booked and paid for an executive room ----- the room was very small with no desk or chairs--- for $300 plus a night we did expect more than just a bed

Review 23:excellent breakfast, service of staff at front desk ,excellent onsen

Review 24:Front desk had a little trouble with English.

Review 25:The Location was excellent. 2 1/2 blocks from Sapporo Station, and 2 1/2 blocks from Odori Park. Easy walking distance to dept. stores and downtown shopping areas. Good Gyoza rest. and Kushiyaki restaurant next door.

Review 26:The hotel provides indoor parking at Yen 1,300 per day which is a fairly good deal relative to parking in the neighborhood. However, you have to be reminded that their day only starts from 3PM until 11AM the day of your check out. You could end up paying more if you only stay one day. The TV has no English instructions, so you have to scroll thru it like blind folded.

Review 27:The staff are helpful and speak fair amount of English. They have a Chinese attendant however she is too green about hotel business, we preferred going directly to the English speaking front desk staff. Breakfast is good and nice. Wifi inside room is good.

Review 28:Recommend a large double bed/lounge suite room it is worth the money, a beautiful room on the 15th floor. Staff excellent and helpful, care for the customer a top priority.

Review 29:We stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. The hotel is in a great location - it's only a few minutes to Sapporo station on foot. We stayed in a room on the 16th floor, which was very comfortable. While the rooms are great, the aesthetic of the lobby and hallways is a bit strange - very dark colours and sort of space-age looking. Nevertheless, we would certainly recommend this hotel.

Review 30:Rooms are rather small, but we can live with that as it's not too bad for Japanese standard.

Review 31:Its public bath on the top-floor of the building stands it out from the rest of the business hotels in Sapporo. It's quite relaxing enjoying Sapporo night city view in the bath after a long day.

Review 32:We found leftover plastic bottles from previous guests still by the window when we checked in.

Review 33:The hotel itself is nice and conveniently located near Sapporo Station. The room is neat with modern deco, which we like. The top-floor public bath is great.

Review 34:The front office staff was not very pleasant. Initially tried to charge me full rack rate until I pointed it out that the rate was not correct. The second night we did not get the breakfast. The staff did not even offer for us to pay

Review 35:The breakfast buffet and the size of the room.

Review 36:It was a little difficult to find as the GPS had us driving in circles because the hotel is located in a small lane that intersects to main streets

Review 37:The room was spacious for 3 and very comfortable.

Review 38:The hotel design is very modern and thoughtful. The service of reception is very good. They helped with Restraurent booking that was very helpful. The bed is qiut big compare to other chain hotels. The top floor open is very cool and with nice view, we all like it.

Review 39:I wish I had been given a choice of one of the three types of rooms at this hotel offers. I also had a mildew like smell on the plastic shower curtain in my room.

Review 40:The location downtown Sapporo is very convenient. The room was comfortable, the Wi-Fi was great, and I love the bath on the top floor that had both inside and outside pool.

Review 41:WIFI takes too many steps to setup

Review 42:Centrally located, walking distance to most attractions in town. Breakfast with lots of varieties. Nice Onsen on the top floor of the hotel is a great place to end your day.

Review 43:It was so hot in the room and we advised the front desk. We were only told about the availability of the electric fan during our last night and we stayed there for 4 nights!

Review 44:Location of the hotel, nice modern hotel, toiletries/amenities are great

Review 45:Limited food options.

Review 46:Hotel is reasonably priced and the location is central and convenient for the ice festival - the purpose of our visit. Rooftop open air onsen was refreshing and relaxing. Interior is suitably modern in the communal parts with an active interest in jazz. Bedrooms are comfortable but far from luxurious or exciting. The hotel is a reasonably priced affair which delivers a reasonable experience.

Review 47:Pillows a bit small and not as plush as I would like. Safe drawer with key quite small.

Review 48:Location very convenient, 18/F indoor/outdoor hot bath is excellent

Review 49:Staff can't really speak english. I called room service to asked for humidifier and pillow, yet the staff could not understand what a humidifier was after me explaining it to him for 10 mins.

Review 50:The design was awesome and the room was comfortable

Review 51:Didn't come across anything that i didn't like.

Review 52:I liked the location of the hotel and the comfort of the rooms as well as the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

Review 53:-Not valuable for money if compair with same grade hotel -It should be only 3-4 star not 5 Room very small compair with expensive price i can stay luxury hotel in tokyo really disappointed -This is my honeymoon trip but it was uncompleted because of this hotel - staff didnt refill sanitary bag - if lost keycard pay extra (i have never heard before) -this price should include breakfast

Review 54:Good location

Review 55:Nothing

Review 56:Location-wise it is walking distance to both Sapporo station and the downtown area, very easy to find, great facilities and superb price! There's even a big bath on top floor with a view and resembles the feel of a Hokkaido onsen.

Review 57:Expensive parking. The onsen has a disappointingly sterile ambiance despite the nice view. The hotel feels very impersonal.

Review 58:We loved the proximity to JR station and Susukino district. This hotel is in a great location!

Review 59:Rooms have a 'sterile' look.

Review 60:Convenient location. About one block from underground walkway which leads to train station. Nice modern onsen with excellent facilities.

Review 61:No shuttle bus to airport. Have to take shuttle bus from Sapporo Grand Hotel which is the nearest. Especially when there is heavy snow and big lugguage walking to Grand Hotel and Jr/subway is a big problem

Review 62:Onsen alot of privacy. Best part is having onsen outdoor when it is snowing. Wifi is good. Free shuttle to curb market

Review 63:Location: might feel little bit far from Sapporo station when you move with your luggages in winter season. But not that hard.

Review 64:I stayed with my mom. What she and I loved the most about this hotel was public bath which has great view. Our room was not that big, as most of those of business hotels in Japan, but bigger than ordinary hotels. Especially bathroom was quite large.

Review 65:room was very small.. I booked a deluxe room but ended up the room could barely fit 2 person moving around. The public bath on the roof floor was also tiny.

Review 66:close to sapporo station and other tourist areas.

Review 67:Room are very small, they don't have non-smoking room while I check in at night and the whole floor smell really bad including the room. Even the towel, I smell the cigarette. And bathroom is shower only, but I took my shower in onsen area anyways.

Review 68:I like their onsen on top floor of building. View are nice, staff are nice. Price is cheap, good location. Modern design.

Review 69:The hotel is overall quite nice. Public bath is not big and not hot spring, but the sitting area outside of the bath is very nice and pleasant. Easy access from JR station and subway if you know the way, only 5 min by walk.

Review 70:Hotel did not respond to 2 booking.com enquiries about connecting rooms and a third had to sent before they replied- in Japanese!

Review 71:Cleanliness, stylish decor

Review 72:Hotel room is small as most Japanese hotels.

Review 73:1. Staff very friendly and helpfull; 2. Location really good, only 5 min walk from Sapporo JR Station; 3. Good value for money with decent facilities

Review 74:The staff were not attentive nor inviting. There were no bell boys to help us move our luggage to the rooms. Rooms were small and the public bath was just chlorine water.

Review 75:The sleep wear provided was clean and comfy.

Review 76:Breakfast wasn't include in the price.

Review 77:This hotel is locate in the good location 5 mins walk from JR Sapporo station or Subway. Its modern , clean and I really love the public bath with the fascinating view of Sapporo city at the top of hotel.

Review 78:The TV programmes were mainly Japanese and should have a few channels on BBC or CNN. Also the TV remote is so difficult to use as it is in Japanese.

Review 79:Location was excellent as it is within walking distance to the Sapporo station.

Review 80:Bit small room like other hotels in Japan

Review 81:Convenient location, kind of botique hotel, average room size, bit stylish and great and stunning public bath. Very recommended.

Review 82:I was charged an exorbitant price for the misplaced of a room key access card which is free of charge elsewhere! It was never made known to me beforehand of the terms and conditions.

Review 83:No room to spread out two luggages in the room.

Review 84:Love the comfortable bed! Hotel is near to Sapporo TV tower and clock tower. Lots of restaurants around the hotel

Review 85:Lobby located on level 2 which we were not aware and were pushing our luggages around ground floor trying to hunt for it.

Review 86:Very new building with great ambience lobby though it has a very small frontage due to small land area. Stayed in a triple sharing room which was of a comfortable size. Located in the city area of Sapporo, traveling by foot would probably have been better as there were many junctions and traffic lights.

Review 87:That there is no concierge on ground level - this makes it inconvenient for arriving passengers with a lot of luggage and children. Lighting in corridor and lobby t

Review 88:The location is central enough, between two main subway stations of sapporo and odori. Rooms are good size

Review 89:no free water

Review 90:from Sapporo station, you can walk straight through the south exit. less than 10 minute walk. if you keep walking straight, you can find odoori park and tv tower and downtown in a walking distance. public bath is located on 18th floor so could see the city alright.

Review 91:Room was a tad small but that's quite normal for Japanese standard. Although small but still very cozy. Breakfast is very expensive if not included in room rates.

Review 92:Love that the room came with pyjamas for each of the 4 guests (we had a family room). Everything was efficiently and thoughtfully placed. Housekeeping was very thorough and the room was always made up no matter what time we return to the room. Hotel is also very conveniently located near the main JR Sapporo station. Baby of the main landmarks are within walking distance. 7-11 and Lawson convenient stores are located 3 mins away.

Review 93:Breakfast (variety and quality) can be much better.

Review 94:A very stylish and comfortable hotel with nice view. Hot spring on the top floor. A public area on the top floor with very nice view.

Review 95:Very close to Sapporo JR and Odori subway. Offers great convenience. Close to sapporo clock tower, TV tower, nijo fish market and shopping street. Many food joints nearby too.

Review 96:We have given a room supposedly able to house my family of 4. But it turns out to be quite a squeeze. Having said that, we do appreciate the fact that all 4 of us are allowed in a room.

Review 97:Nice ambience Right in the center of Sapporo

Review 98:No applicable

Review 99:Location of this hotel is very good, room that we stay is surprisingly Big, more than sufficient closet for clothing, luggages, room lighting is well place. Absolutely marvelous.good location and efficient staff

Review 100:The room is rather small and need to manage the space especially we hv 2 luggages.

Review 101:The location is very near to JR station and most attractions. We enjoy the onsen at the top of the hotel. What a way to indulge yourself after a day!

Review 102:Normal check out time in many countries are 1200 hours but it was only 1100 hours in this hotel. We asked for late check out at 1200 but was told that we had to pay extra by hour. The hotel was bit mean in this aspect, we could not check in until 3pm which was considered very late.

Review 103:room was good size and very clean.

Review 104:Cross Hotel Sapporo exceed our expecatations - from the clean, modern, aesthetically pleasing lobby and common areas to the functional, good sized rooms, we found the hotel to be value for money. The bathroom was shiny clean and the amenties provided would please any traveller. It's a relatively new hotel so it exudes an air of general modernity, much like a stylish boutique hotel. The street on which the hotel is located is chock ful of restaurants, and the izakaya we went to (just two shops down from the hotel) has the most awesome yakitori and chicken pot rice. All in all an enjoyable stay.

Review 105:Not the grand hotel style but for the service and room standard we have got this is really very good value. Excellent!

Review 106:Free spa, vending machine, convenient transportation (close to train station, bus stop right outside of the entrance)

Review 107:one or two English language TV channels would be nice

Review 108:The location is perfect for exploring Sapporo. Very convenient to the JR station. Within a 10min walk. We booked one room type higher than standard room and it was big enough to hold our two suitcases and still not feel cramped Staff were very helpful and attentive

Review 109:because we have good experience with cross in osaka, so we have planed and respected this hotel so much. we booked 3 rooms and did early reserve and some important early request but but they did nothing... hopeless!! and one more thing, staff, she was only say no and sorry... no and sorry ... that's it!!

Review 110:modern hotel good design.

Review 111:I like the location, decoration, and the large bath tub on the roof top (both indoor and open-air). Also, recommend the Gyoza shop in the front of the hotel. Wifi was really fast.

Review 112:No

Review 113:The hotel is modern style and very functional by design especially the restroom that separate bath room, toilet and sinks unlike typical Hotel in town. The staffs are very helpful and speak good English.

Review 114:It is my 8 time in Sapporo and must say that for this price you can find the better hotel. I stayed in other hotels that were much cheaper + free breakfast with good location near Daimaru shopping center + a lot of restaurants. So, try to spend more time at this site to find better proposal.

Review 115:Good location. Modern design.Big bathroom in twin room.

Review 116:- Cannot open window; would have been nicer to have some fresh air in the room - Need more places to hang clothes and used towels e.g. hooks and racks

Review 117:- Very good location, half-way between JR Sapporo Station and main shopping area of Odori/Susukino - Check-in and check-out is quick; staff can communicate well in English - Love the shower in public bath; strong and consistent water pressure; soap and shampoo smell great - High quality and clean bedding/linen/towel

Review 118:Parking service is a bit slow. You have to park inside a small space and the control machine will automatically take your car to a place underground. Thus when a lot of people want to take their cars. It costs long time. Because the automatic system is so slow.

Review 119:The hotel is excellent. I really love the bath facility on the top floor. You can see the view of Sapporo when you take the bath. The room is also clean and comfortable.

Review 120:language problem - fortunately at times we have Mr Cyril Le Manach on duty!

Review 121:The location - near train & bus stations. Rooms clean. Check on rates as it may vary quite a bit for the same time of rooms in a matter of days.

Review 122:Breakfast - there is a poor selection for Westerners - average fruit, no fresh eggs and dreadful coffee. Restaurant orders close at 9.30am (for breakfast) and 9.30pm for dinner which is a bit early for a 5 star facility. The room was tiny - even though we booked a size up from the smallest. No english television channel. The hotel felt more like a 4 star than a 5 star.

Review 123:The decor is quite modern and funky. The staff were very polite and helpful. We left early one morning before the restaurant opened and they offered us some to go packs for lunch which were very nice.

Review 124:Can't check in until 3? This is unusual even for Japan. 1 or 2 o'clock check in should be possible for these prices. Breakfast exactly same every day, while good, a little variety would have been nice

Review 125:rooms comfortable, nice soap, WiFi worked well, breakfast excellent

Review 126:Some unnecessary features such as the information flip pad. You just need the info. TV difficult to control.

Review 127:Top floor bath excellent! rooms clean and tidy with ultra modern touches. Excellent location. Half way between JR Station and Odori Park. We had a full view of the Clock Tower. All in all, would definitely stay again!

Review 128:All equipments impressed me a lot! Coffee grinder, sky bath lounge , bath tub even sink are full of interest. Easily to access all kinds of transportation. Good choose to stay in Sapporo!! Bravo~

Review 129:Couldn't check in until 3. Bath opening time in morning should be longer. Breakfast was identical each day, a little variety would have been nice.

Review 130:WiFi excellent. Pillows excellent. Rooms designed well. Bath great. Breakfast very good. Hot baths on roof a big plus.

Review 131:No complimentary bottled water. Location is near JR and definitely within 7 minutes of walking/strolling but not THAT near.

Review 132:The bathroom is spacious, modern and well-equipped. The bed and lightings are comfortable. TV comes with free movies though selection is quite limited.

Review 133:The design and quirky features are nice, however I probably would not stay here again, because the hotel is a bit too dark to my liking. Bathroom was a bit annoying, due to the shower being in the bath and nothing to prevent the water from going all over the place. I even would have preferred a shower curtain... Breakfast at the restaurant was extremely busy and the room felt very stuffy. The food was quite decent, although nothing special in my opinion. My husband tried a massage for which they come to your room, which is a bit uncomfortable due to the room being so small. There is no seating area in the room, so I was left with a choice of leaving the room or sitting in a corner on the bed. Not exactly the best experience. The onsen on the top floor is not officially an onsen, I believe due to the water supply. To me it felt like normal swimming pool water with quite a bit of chlorine, hence making your skin quite dry. I did not like the fact that if you arrive a bit early, that you are charged extra for the parking at quite a high rate.

Review 134:Decent design hotel with quirky features with main theme being music. The standard twin room was small, although functional with comfortable beds. Majority of staff does not speak English, however there is normally someone around who does. The concierge does not seem to be around much, although when she is, she is very helpful. They recommended a few restaurants around the hotel which were a bit hit and miss. We tried lunch at the bar, which has an Italian theme and was of good quality and tasted really nice. The majority of the "onsen" is actually inside, but it does have a nice view onto the clock tower and the rest of the city. The part that is outdoor is really quite small and surrounded by walls and a glass window so you can enjoy the view. I think you could only sit in the outdoor area with 3 people max for it to be still comfortable, but I must admit that it was really nice to sit there while it was raining after a hot day. This was by the way the first "onsen" that I came across with normal showers, which was nice for a change. Location seems to be good as it is quite central and close to the clock tower.

Review 135:Not really cheap to stay here. Room service did not replace my room slippers for my entire 4 nights stay. It had torn sides after 3 nights use. Onsen temperature is rather low.

Review 136:Room size was just right for 2 adults and to put our luggage around. Location is just 3 streets from JR station. Convenient walk to many attractions and shopping. Onsen at top floor had nice views.

Review 137:Our room for 4 was really ideal because the WC, bathing/shower area and two washing basins are separate. So we can all wash up very efficiently :) Great location as it was close enough for us to get the JR to the New Chitose Airport.

Review 138:Not all staff can communicate in English well, but not a big deal as they managed to get help from others.

Review 139:Good location, modern design, nice view from the onsen, helpful staff.
