Hotel New Akao is at the seaside of Sagami-nada Sea, a 10 minute ride from JR Atami Train Station. A free shuttle is offered. Featuring a hot-spring bath, and an indoor freshwater pool and outdoor seawater pool, the hotel offers massage services and rooms with spectacular views.
The hotel offers a choice for guests to experience a Japanese room with futon beds, or stay in a classically furnished Western room. Rooms offer sea or mountain views. Each room comes with a fridge, an electric teakettle and a TV.
Guests can take a walk through the rooftop garden, sing karaoke or have an enjoyable time in the game room. At night, food stalls and Showa-era games are offered.

Review 1：There is little else to do in Atami - the entire focus of other guests was the onsen experience witin the hotel.

Review 2：Brilliant location with great views from the room and rooftop garden. Our room was extremely sophisticated and beautiful in traditional style with a private bathroom.The futon were luxury grade and dream to sleep in.

Review 3：Bed was old, carpets shabby, bath/toilet in room old and rusty. Slightly tacky decor.

Review 4：Built on rocky cliff with waves constantly crashing below. Amazing retro dining room. Great hot springs baths.

Review 5：There is no internet access in the room, only WiFi access on the lobby floor. The location is a bit off from the town center, has to rely on the shutter bus provided by the hotel which ends after 5 pm, or call a taxi. The hotel needs some uplift - the furniture are a bit old although in general the hotel/facilities are well maintained and keep very clean.

Review 6：Ocean view is fantastic, room is directly above the sea, can listen to the waves hitting the shore/rocks. The surrounding is very beautiful, nice view and scenery. The staff were very helpful despite limited English capabilities. They tried their best to serve customers and meet their needs.

Review 13：Nice view great Onsen (hot tubs) and what's cool is that the lobby is on the top floor (17th) the rest of the hotel is built under the the 17th.
