Reviews for Hotel Abu

Review 1:Morning coffee was lousy and the "continental" breakfast somewhat meager.

Review 2:Very clean modern facility with quiet rooms in the center of the historic district attractions. The staff was helpful, although not always bilingual.

Review 3:Tiny rooms, not even enough space to open your luggage, not to mention a second luggage when traveling as a couple as we did. A super small window to the patio was the only source for fresh air. All guest are crossing the patio and staircase to the upper levels, thus it's noisy during the whole night. We really had a hard time to find rest there

Review 4:Great location in the center of Oaxaca. Everything within walking distance.

Review 5:Most of the rooms - ours included - have no windows and are small, making you feel like in a dungeon. We tried an upgrade but the hotel wasfully booked.

Review 6:Well located in lovely Oaxaca

The breakfast included in the hotel rate is ridiculous. Two slices of bread and a chunk of watermelon. They should be ashamed to do this to guests. The room is also very small. I do not recommend this hotel at all

Review 8:Location

Review 9:Wifi wasn't completely reliable. They didn't tell me what was and wasn't included in the price for breakfast so when I checked out they told me what I had ordered wasn't included. They should have made it clear at the start. Fairly basic room.

Review 10:Great location, safe area, clean

Review 11:No ice machine and no mini fridge in the room. I think this might be common in Oaxaca?

Review 12:Excellent location, great value, very clean quiet rooms, A/C, very friendly & professional staff. It was much nicer than I expected for the price.

Review 13:The rooms are hot and humid. Only a ceiling fan. No air conditioner Extremely noisy. We had to use ear plugs every night.

Review 14:Great location. The staff is super helpful. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable.

Review 15:The staff was always ready to help you , the location fantastic and was comfort all the way. Full of people willing to help and people who love their job, Location perfect.

Review 16:Breakfast on my first morning was spartan to say the least. I was offered only fruit and two pieces of toast. There was no buffet breakfast or menu provided. This changed several days later, obviously when more people were in the hotel.

Review 17:The location is good, but really there's nothing outstanding about the hotel. Everything is modern but there's nothing that jumps out and says this is a great place and I want to come back.

Review 18:The room was very small. No outside window. The odor from the disenfectant was so strong we had to keep the door open and ceiling fan going before the room was tolerable.

Review 19:Stylish, boutique with high quality appointments and fixtures.

Review 20:Very small room for $100 USD. Double size bed. Bathroom/shower has very musty smell. If you don't mind closet living this is good.

Review 21:Modern, clean and good location. Comes with breakfast. Buffett style but good edible stuff. Beans had good spices.

Review 22:Breakfast Hotel was pretty noisy when there was a wedding one night.

Review 23:I really liked the location and the cleaners! This was a small room but the cleaners were amazing and managed to arrange our stuff (lots because we are traveling with our bub) so we felt comfortable. Hotel Abu is good value for money. Also, it has great heating. We have been staying in various places around Mexico the past month and this was the first place that had proper heating!

Review 24:Best location, near Zocalo, museums and churches. Staff, especially the breakfast dining room manager were friendly and helpful. Not noisy, even during Dias de Los Muertos.

Review 25:There is nothing to really dislike.

Review 26:Extremely close to everything that is happening within the city. The rooms were large and spacious and very clean. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was good. Little English is spoken by the staff, but they try their best to help with all needs.

Review 27:More likes: breakfast also simple & good- fresh fruits, eggs, cereals.

Review 28:Modern, elegant, simple, clean, quite hotel in a fantastic location. Sanctuary from bustling city. Beautiful art everywhere. Very comfortable beds & pillows. Polite, kind, efficient staff.

Review 29:Room size The pillows!

Review 30:Room was incredibly small, literally would need to climb on bed to get around if you have any luggage with you

Review 31:Great location, nice staff

Review 32:Only windows toward the courtyard / corridor in the whole hotel. Disappointing given the price

Review 33:Very well located, clean, recommendable

Review 34:I organized a two day workshop there and everything went fine. The administration provided a projector and other equipment, and the price was fair.

Review 35:the size of the rooms.

Review 36:the price

Review 37:Fantastic location, very clean modern rooms, extremely comortable although compact, amazing value for money when I stayed

Review 38:Relation prive confort

Review 39:Smallish room

Review 40:The receptionists were always super cheerful and helpful. They made the stay very enjoyable.

Review 41:The room was very small and no window.

Review 42:I loved the location and cleanliness.

Review 43:My room was quite small

Review 44:Nice breakfast, modern rooms

Review 45:Rooms are too small. The No room decoration. The parking fee is not clearly disclosed. The breakfast was below average.

Review 46:Location was exellent.

Review 47:its a little noisy

Review 48:the kindness of personal, the excellent location, the breakfast included. It was much better tan expected

Review 49:Clean and quiet

Review 50:Room was a bit on the small side, but this is to be expected in an oldcolonial building.

Review 51:Location, right in the city centre within easy walking distance of allthe main attractions.

Review 52:Very very noisy. The atrium is very hollow and echoes so you hear everything. There were guests coming in and out of the hotel all night. Zero sleep. The room was very small and only had a double bed. I would not recommend staying. We stayed at the holiday inn for 2 nights prior and it was fantastic (great room and pool and buffet breakfast as well).

Review 53:Fantastic location.

Review 54:there is a major noise issue. Many of the rooms are around an atrium. Noise travels up and around. You can hear everything at night - the fountain in the foyer, the cars driving past, conversations between staff. Very irritating.

Review 55:The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean, the location is excellent, you would think it was perfect BUT...

Review 56:Service is poor in breakfast, couple of staff.. for foreign tourist without spanish language is a major issue, very little english speaking staff. The bathroom and wash room is very stuffy. No water given on time during room service.. I think they need to improve a lot before get 8/10 rating

Review 57:The room was cozy without shower room

Review 58:Very little English was spoken, a mix up, as far as room keys, resulted in a strange man entering our room in the middle of the night causing us quite a bit of consternation.

Review 59:Staff was very friendy, the rooms were very clean and the location, not far from the Zocolo, the main square, was very convenient. .

Review 60:Extremely noisy staff, overall bad acoustics of the building. Very small rooms for that price category. Unclear pricing structure, they charged 80$ more than announced through booking.com.

Review 61:Don't book the breakfast option. It is absolutely overpriced and so not worth the money. If they have a buffet, there is hardly any variety to choose from. On most days, breakfast is served,in which case you have no choice at all. There are plenty of quaint little cafés all over Oaxaca that offer typical Oaxacan and also continental breakfast!

Review 62:Great location within easy walking distance of all major attractions. The rooms are very small but they are comfortable and very modern. I was especially thrilled about the state of the art bathroom (which can be somewhat rare in Mexico).

Review 63:Hallway noise

Review 64:A lot of noise in the central patio of the Hotel that affects the Comfort in the rooms.

Review 65:Is clean and hotel is new. Great breakfast.

Review 66:Rooms, noise, unfriendly staff

Review 67:Rooms are too small and dark. Staff isnt very helpful.

Review 68:Location is great. Very clean

Review 69:Great location Clean Well maintained Good service
