Reviews for Hotel Roma

Review 1:I asked for something from reception, but they did not get back to me. It wasn't a big problem though.

Review 2:It's in a good location if you have to go the airport early in the morning, like I did. If you want to go to the centre, it's a few stops on the metro which isn't far from the hotel either. So overall a good location!

Review 3:I use to lodge in this hotel many times, but for this stay I got a shabbier room, humid, the shower was really bad...

Review 4:I like the location, close to two wonderful bookshops, many cafés and shops and minutes away by taxi from the Chiado. Just 10 minutes from airport.

Review 5:The rooms that are street side can be noisy at night due to traffic. Wish they had some exercise equipment.

Review 6:Nice location near the airport, clean, modern.

Review 7:Restaurant and bar manned by very, very unqualified staff. It was a very big disappointment. Found sarcastic and unprofessional waiters. This takes this place completely out the plans of a place to stay when coming back to Lisbon. We will also share with our circle of friends who are planning to go to Portugal soon.

Review 8:room space

Review 9:Super friendly staff. We had some requests that were immediately satisfied. Silent room even though the Hotel is next to the train station. Good breakfast.

Review 10:Location of the room. Next to the elevator

Review 11:The food in the restaurant.Excellent They took us back to the airport in the hotel van.Save us the taxi fare

Review 12:Would prefer a duvet instead of blankets and would like to see more choice of cereals for breakfast.

Review 13:Very good value for money. Great location, friendly staff and the family room was quite big and super clean. We were in the 9th floor and had a good view from the city in our balcony!

Review 14:Hard beds.difficulty at.times communicating with a staff not fluent in English for the most part, poor quality breakfast.Internet did not work

Review 15:The Locaton And Price PER night

Review 16:Breakfast was terrible, sooo busy not enough crockery and food for amount of people and not a great choice !!!

Review 17:the staff were lovely and it was clean and close to a lovely Portuguese restaurant called Dom Feijão

Review 18:There wasn't any tea/coffee making facilities and no ironing boards.,

Review 19:The rooms were spacious and comfortable. A beautiful view of city from the room.

Review 20:The breakfast.

Review 21:Excellent management for 3star. Good mature and experienced staff with good service was really appreciated. Thank you for your care and attention.

Review 22:- very bad coffee at the breakfast!!!! - "industrialized" food - nothing special! - very standardized breakfast (make the difference!)

Review 23:- a very good location in the city. - very friendly and helpful receptionists and portier!

Review 24:Good value for money even if Lisbon hotels were filled up on the days (conference of 5000 people). Close to metro. Clean, modern place, personnel speaks English and is kind. Did not have breakfast there so can't say about food.

Review 25:I choose this place for over 15 years I'm a consolidated client and l have been treated good , just recently l travel to Paris and l left part of my luggage at the hotel and they kept it for 6 days without being charged .l appreciate it so much. A Fernandes

Review 26:Hotel is in a great location, very close to metro and train stations so good for commuting in/around the city and taking day trips. Good WiFi and other facilities. Room is clean and spacious.Breakfast is decent for the price. Happy with my stay.

Review 27:Bed really hard, lifts are shocking, staff on the desk the night we arrived were a mixed bag. There were tons of people arriving at the same time, no obvious queuing system and lots of angry people.

Review 28:Massive room, good views.

Review 29:The staff at the reception could have been nicer during the check-in. We didn't feel welcome.

Review 30:The hotel location is good; right in the city centre. The bellhops were very helpful with the luggage and also providing some excellent recommendations.

Review 31:Reception personal was not friendly. Breakfast : coffee very bad, not much choice, no yochourt ....

Review 32:Rooms were clean, airco in the room. Location near Metro. Lugguage storage.

Review 33:Professional staff, great breakfast (opening hours from 6:30, we managed to have breakfast before heading to airport), location is besides a metro station.

Review 34:Like most of hotels, the walls were quite thin, so you can hear people walking and talking in the aisle. It was a quiet night, so there was no problem, but if there had been louder guests, it would have been troublesome. Bathroom had soap and shampoo/shower gel, but it was missing toothpaste. I found that weird.

Review 35:I arrived very late and left in the early hours and staff was nice and helpful. The room was big and clean, the sheets smelled fresh and the towels were fluffy.

Review 36:The front desk staff were not very friendly and never offered a smile. They behaved as if it was a chore to interact with their guests. The pillows were very flat and uncomfortable.

Review 37:The location was great. There is a taxi stand right outside the hotel. The breakfast was very good. The room was very spacious and very clean.

Review 38:Staff at the desk was not always friendly.

Review 39:The location of the hotel is not far from the metro station. Some shops in the area. Nice and spatious room.

Review 40:The staff at reception wasn't too welcoming and the guy who checked us in was not friendly at all and a bit condescending when he answered questions. Was a bit taken aback by that. Room had balcony with great view (but of nothing really as area is not very exciting). Was fine for one night.

Review 41:It was close to the metro and price was good. Room was spacious.

Review 42:There were not enough electric sockets in our room, Wi-Fi was not good, using the computers in the lobby are to be paid for, very old & small t.v

Review 43:Easy access from metro, spacious room, comfortable beds.

Review 44:Same breakfast and not much for vegetarian guests. Have to bring your own iron if you need to iron or pay their laundry services.

Review 45:Location very close to roma metro station.

Review 46:The WIFI signal was just not very strong in the rooms, but strong at the lobby.

Review 47:I basically enjoyed everything, although the furniture in the room were old, I still found the room really comfortable.

Review 48:View from bedroom. Man on desk when checking out. No coffee making facilities.

Review 49:Closeness to Entrecampos Train Station. Pleasant girl on reception when I arrived. Hot water, wi-fi, TV.

Review 50:room rather small, rather outdated, breakfast very boring, not friendly steward allowing to enter the breakfast area

Review 51:nice view, very good wi-fi, very close to the metro

Review 52:If your window is in front of railway, that means that you will sleep only between 2-6 am, because later trains will pass through your room. Closing windows won't help.

Review 53:Location, cleanliness

Review 54:away from the center, poor breakfast and long time for check-in and check-out due to the not-trained personnel in the upgraded management system

Review 55:large clean room

Review 56:Reception staff were unefficient and not friendly. Even though we asked for Non smoking we did get a room Close to a smooker and our bathroom smelled like a smookers box, dissapointed.

Review 57:Situated in Lissabon and close to the Airport. Best help from concierge.

Review 58:receptionist first said no breakfast even though it was ordered, she corrected after I said. Elevators slow and busy No coffee in room No sports room

Review 59:Clean Good breakfast

Review 60:Breakfast should be improved. Check-in and check-out was done with a delay because the hotel's system has been upgraded and the staff is not yet trained. Location is far from the center and transportation is a bit difficult.

Review 61:The room was very clean and very spacious. Value for money was decent.

Review 62:I think this hotel is one of the best choices for overnight staying in Lisbon. Rooms are clean and relatively big. Closed to the airport. Staff is nice and helpful.

Review 63:Weird foam on coffee until we found the cafe Americana machine. Ask for it.

Review 64:WFi was fast. Breakfast very good. Rooms modern but comfortable. Parking close. Room on street but soundproof windows so no noise.

Review 65:No good restaurants nearby. Hotel recommended an awful one 1st night but it was the only one within walking distance. First night we did hear muted voices(maybe tv)and shower running at 4 am. However we complained and there wasn't a sound for the remaining 4 nights.Breakfast was plentiful but would have loved more cheese variety. It was fine except for coffee...truly awful! We just made the bar across the road our first stop each day before setting off for the day. Great coffee there.

Review 66:Very spacious room with clean sheets and towels daily. Good air con worked well. Small balcony but adequate for smokers(no table or chairs) but just adequate view.Friendly staff. Residential area so felt safe. Lovely coffee shop across the road. We got a good deal and were very happy. Taxis outside the door and are cheap, as is all transport and convenient to hotel. Would definitely recommend.

Review 67:Very noisy. Room service seemed to take a long time and various guests arriving and leaving meant it was very difficult to get an afternoon nap.

Review 68:The staff were nice and the location is great for Metro and getting around Lisbon. All the taxi drivers know where the hotel is as well.

Review 69:The first night we arrived, we had almost no wifi signal & had to ask for a change of room the next day. Which they immediately arranged & the wifi was much better then. Looks like strength of signal depends on how close the room is to the routers or something.

Review 70:Location was good, 2 min walk from metro & taxis always available just outside; very helpful staff; great breakfast spread; clean & spacious rooms & bathroom

Review 71:The staff in the beginning was very cold in the beginning, when there was some confusion about the booking.

Review 72:the location was the best of all aspects, easily accessible to public transport and an elaborate breakfast!

Review 73:No complaints

Review 74:Friendliness & helpfulness of staff Close to the Metro Station The room was neat & clean and well located Breakfast buffet had a good selection

Review 75:The warm water for infant feed. Had to always pay equal to the price of Tea, as the infant milk powder purely depends on warm boiled water... so found that order daily a bit expensive for the quantity for infant.

Review 76:Everything

Review 77:Absolutely not the hotel's fault there were roadworks around the hotel making the car park difficult to find.

Review 78:Easy bus routes into town and very helpful staff told us exactly how to get to the Vegetarian restaurant we wanted to find. There was a comprehensive breakfast available which was v reasonably priced.

Review 79:Breakfast / some waiters there needs a lot lot of trainings / my key card did not worked twice

Review 80:Comfort of the room / bell boy very helpful without over doing !

Review 81:Breakfast was good but not varied (this time). I am not a fan of their bathroom facilities. Everything comes in small paper packets that are sometimes hard to tear. The lady answering the phone on Sunday could have been nicer. When asked to provide some information she was quite rude actually.

Review 82:There are lots of shops, cafés and restaurants nearby. It won't be a problem to go anywhere as there are several public transport options.

Review 83:Sometimes the speed of the internet was not so good.

Review 84:I liked very much the comfort of the bedroom and the attention of the people who work in the hotel.

Review 85:A male receptionist, his attitude was so bad and not helpful at all. Too bad, I did not get his name so that the hotel could at least do something.

Review 86:very close to underground/metro it only takes you 35 minutes to walk to centre of city which is good if you enjoy walking in the city

Review 87:It's a nice hotel in good location close to the metro in Lisbon, staff were very pleasant and sociable. Rooms are nice and clean, with big screen... I recommend it for staying in Lisbon.

Review 88:The comfort of our Hotel room was great. The room was vey spacious and had a seating area to relax. The breakfast was also very good. The food was fresh and plenty to choose from.

Review 89:Shower pressure just fair but very difficult to adjust the right temperature 1mm and you will get very hot or very cold water, very annoying indeed After spending a few minutes wet trying to adjust the temperature you will find out that it only stays right for a few minutes and it will be again too cold or two hot, a proper nightmare The bedding was clean and net but the blankets old and horrible so the bed cover. Nothing unusual tupical of Mediterranean countries Overall not a bad place, would not mind going back BUT I would look for alternatives

Review 90:Spacious Old but good furniture

Review 91:-2 beds are separately from each other -base furniture in room insight -slippers and bathrobe absense -bad WIFI signal, connection was lost every 5 min

Review 92:+good location +close to metro station +7th floor is good for city view +good and friendly staff +early check-in +24h taxi availability near the hotel

Review 93:Being 'nesh' (easily get cold) I found bedroom rather chilly.Temperature though may just be perfect for other guests. Dim lightingtoo was not conducive for reading or writing. But then most people userooms mainly to sleep in. Very bad experience with taxi from airport whocharged nearly four times the expected fare!

Review 94:Efficient (mature) reception staff & helpful ever ready lads atservice, clean and dust free almost everywhere, sumptuous breakfast& pleasant team, handy and reasonably priced souvenir shop with nicelady attending it, restaurant chef is commendable. Taxis outside hoteldoor were true to their fares.

Review 95:Wifi sometimes didn't work in the room but only for an hour or so, then it was OK. If you want to stay directly in the city center, look elsewhere, from Roma it takes about 15min by metro. Otherwise highly recommended.

Review 96:Everyhting was great. The reception staff was very helpful, cleaning ladies and restaurant staff always smiling and polite. Clean, spatious rooms and bathrooms. Good breakfast choice. Very near to metro and supermarket. I will definitely come back if I'm in Lisbon again.

Review 97:Good option for business or city trip. Close to a metro station which allow you to travel around the city with no major difficulties. A good 3 stars hotel and value for money.

Review 98:small lift that you could travel up and down in for some time :)

Review 99:helpful efficient staff and always available modern spacious clean room great wifi everything thought of good food in on site cafe quiet safe at night - and close to amenities

Review 100:hotel is quite old, will need some maintenance. Internet was not working.

Review 101:Nice souvenir shop, proximity of nice coffee shop for breakfast. For overnight to wait for connection flight its acceptable hotel.

Review 102:Nothing relevant

Review 103:Excelent location, close to the subway and with several services in the surroundings Friendly staff Complete breakfast Rooms with 4 beds are excelent for families

Review 104:Water pressure on 10th floor is very poor. Breakfast is too expensive for what it offers. Very slow Wifi.

Review 105:Good price/quality relation. Clean bedroom. Helpful staff.

Review 106:Reception old men "tired of there job, not one smile from any of them,we the guest are just a number. Poor welcome.

Review 107:At 30 euros per person i was'nt expecting much however i was pleasantly suprised by what we got for our money.

Review 108:The breakfast was a disgrace we thought both in taste quality and lack of cultural experience of Portugal and why no Portuguese custard tarts etc? The two men at reception were obviously having a bad day with no smiles or manners. Although they were stressed with large groups we decided. WiFi was intermittent in our room and cost us a lot of money on our mobile as had not realised this.

Review 109:Comfortable and spacious bedroom and bathroom which we found good after a stressful day!

Review 110:There was a charge to use the Internet on the computers in the hotel lobby. I think that this should have been provided free of charge to hotel guests. The staff at the desk were not overly friendly or inviting.

Review 111:The location for our purposes of being close to the airport was important. The breakfast selection was excellent.

Review 112:Poor information regarding how to get to the centr. Restricted number of open restaurants after 10 PM.

Review 113:Place good rather for turist groups traveling by buses then indyvidual turists

Review 114:Trains pass right outside hotel at 05.00 Lift service very slow especially at breakfast time. cooked breakfast (beans, sausage scrambled egg) cold

Review 115:Comfortable and clean room

Review 116:The only issue we had was parking. we had some luggage and we couldn't park just next to hotel or in hotel premises. we had to stop where stop is not allowed and try quickly to unloud and carry everything to hotel room. and remove car to private parking (which is not an issue). but no option properly unloud is an issue.

Review 117:This hotel is "middle of the road". Very basic, restaurant food mediocre, no special touches or endearing qualities, rooms quite sparse. Use it if you want somewhere clean and basic as a base.

Review 118:The hotel is to the north of the city. There's not much to do in the immediate vicinity but there's a metro stop right outside. It's also handy for the airport. The rooms are basic but clean. The receptionists are very efficient and friendly and seem fluent in multiple languages. The free wifi is fast and seemed reliable.

Review 119:- room was not as good looking as in photo - room smelled like pee - service and info from reception was not very accurate - needs renovation

Review 120:- location: only 10 min from airport by taxi - we had an early flight and they opened the restaurant before 7 so that we could have breakfast before leaving.

Review 121:Roma hotel is great. Clean, comfi. But the location. There is nothing around during the night. So really issue just if you want to go out evening. You can find something but you got to walk and walk or get a taxi. But great great hot

Review 122:Hotel staff were not overly friendly from day one, didn't smile and made it awkward when waiting for assistance at reception. We had been backpacking around Europe and needed washing done after looking at the prices the maid told us it wouldn't be overly expensive we took her word for it BUT 12 hours later we had a 150euro laundry bill for some dresses undies and shorts :( DO NOT DO YOUR LAUNDRY WITH THE HOTEL .... Lastly it would be nice if there was tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Review 123:The hotel was in a good area close to the Roma metro which meant ease if travel into town and surrounding areas of lisbon. The rooms were of good size, noise from the trains going last was evident but hardly a huge issue. Room was cleaned to high standard each day.

Review 124:Since I had booked hotel Roma for our layover night we didn't get an idea if a linger stay in the area. However my experience for great: traveling solo with 3 children was not an issue and the reception at thejotel was good and efficient. Location is close enough to the airport but still in the city.

Review 125:Very nice staff, excellent position (close to the airport, near a metro station, lot of shops and a couple of good restaurants in the neighborhood), clean, spacious rooms.

Review 126:We used the Roma as an overnight family room from a late flight in and early flight out the next morning. €7 taxi ride for the 4 of us and our luggage was deemed fair value and the family room was large.

Review 127:The hotel has very large rooms. It's is right beside metro station. A 10 minute drive from airport or 10 minute drive to main square tourist attractions. By cab cost about 6 euro each way. Wifi was good. Bathrooms large. Just a little dated and worn. But would stay again in a second for price.

Review 128:It took to long to get help when i arrived and waited to get my key for my room . The room was booked online before i arrived. It would be nice if the staff talked Inglaise(English).

Review 129:I liked the building, the rom ,the lokation and the staff. I want to come back if/ when i returns to Lisboa.

Review 130:Unpolite staff, terrible room service, bad food

Review 131:Nice hotel from the inside, good wifi connection and the location is really close to the metro station and the airport.

Review 132:- The location was in a part of the city that doesn't have many restaurants and shuts down very early in the evening. We had trouble finding somewhere for dinner and ended up at Tin Tin Cafe for snacks, then McDonalds.

Review 133:- Large room - Free wireless - Very clean

Review 134:The hotel bar closes at 1am but because of that we had a great night as we found an all night restaurant round the corner and they were happy to serve us fine red wine after we'd been to a concert in nearby Alges.

Review 135:The price, the staff, the size of the room (triple), the huge bathroom, the location was good as it had good transport links to get elsewhere in the city also with a Metro station about 400 yards up the street, it's near an all night bar and an all night restaurant. Try this hotel, you won't regret it!
