Reviews for Deluxe Rooms
Review 1:Bathroom: the sliding door in the shower was broken when we checked inand it never got fixed. The bathroom Floor would always be flooded eachtime we took a shower.
Review 2:Location
Review 3:Toilet seat loose and smell of drains in bathroom. Very dated needs upgrade if to continue being called 'deluxe' to much furniture in room. Sink in corner of bedroom not plumbed in with extractor over top ... Why?
Review 4:Convenient and clean ... Fresh towels every day and central to majority of cultural sites
Review 5:We didn't asked but it will be good to have duvet.
Review 6:Location, staff, clean and nice rooms. Free wifi. Nice cheap coffee.shp around. Good shower. A very pleasant holiday. Thanks.
Review 7:Check out was quite early, 10 am. Breakfast could be served at a coffee shop, 5 min away
Review 8:Very clean and spacious rooms. Value for money. Polite staff. If I go again to Rome, I would be willing to book there again.
Review 9:I had to keep the door to the bathroom closed due to the odor from the plumbing. Glad it wasn't too cold so I could keep the window open.
Review 10:It was handy having a fridge.
Review 11:Horrible experience. Stayed here 6 through 11 October 2015. Upon arrival we were told our room wasn't available so we had to move to another property. Horribly, tiny room, smudged walls and dirty sheets. One towel (for both of us) and dingy bathroom. The worst part was the way this news was delivered. After we said this was unacceptable we ended up in a long argument where the supposed owner or manager was rude and yelling over the phone. We offered to cancel our entire booking but we were told we would not get a refund. We were more than welcome to leave after we paid. Eventually when I tried to pay with cash I was told my credit card was charged against my request. After we called booking.com support there was no change whatsoever, they first lied to booking.com about the credit card charge and eventually (after 3 more calls from booking.com) they did admit to having charged my card and offered us to leave with having paid for two nights. Because of these terms we stayed and honestly I regretted we did. The room we eventually had was even smaller than the (supposedly one person room) we stayed in the first night, it had a horrible smell (seemingly coming from the carpet in the room) and we couldn't use the AC as it was leaking. My best guess is that the carpet was rotting underneath the AC. Do yourself a favor and do not stay here.
Review 12:Nothing
Review 13:the management is a little disorganized, i was actually locked out of the building the morning i checked out with instructions to leave the key in my room, so i had to wait until another occupant of the building happened to come along. there is no service unless you catch them at the right time. rome is beautiful in a historical way, but there is alot of trash on the streets everywhere.
Review 14:i stayed here to be close to the Vatican City, and to a subway station, and it was good for that. the room had a nice italian furnished feel to it, and the bathroom was unusual. rome is not that big, you can actually walk around to most of the piazzas and sites easily, from its subway stations. i ate very good italian food at the same restauarant for 2 nights by vatican city, nice 4 course meal, the amibiance and price was just what i wanted. it's amazingly cheap to fly there via Ryan Air
Review 15:Ugly furniture, we were freezing in the apartment (very very cold - no heating and it was the last week of October) The water was hot just for one person quick shower - the rest had to wait until the boiler was full again
Review 16:Great location!!!! Great building, right near the Vatican - awesome neighbourhood.
Review 17:The hole in our bedroom wall, the leak the other side which had lots of damage ( will send photos ) the constant drilling and banging all hours. The extremely loud staff again all hours just to mention a few problems. Don't pay for breakfast, it's in a cafe over the road and doesn't have much food if any.
Review 18:Reception is only manned (in Via Catone, 21) from 2 pm- 7 pm daily, and even though there is someone there, it doesn't mean that they will let you into your rooms, because "the Boss" has to be the one to do that, and he is out doing a bunch of other stuff. For example, we arrived a 2 pm and waited until 3:30 pm but he hadn't arrived, and ended up not getting into the apartment until 7:30 pm. Beware, the main doors to Reception close at 7:00 pm so make sure you arrive there beforehand, unless you want to be forced to call "the Boss" by phone to let you in separately. Also, there were barely enough paper towels (1 roll) or toilet paper (2 rolls) for the 5 of us who stayed 3 nights, and we ran out of both on the last day) so you may want to count on that. Also the beds are a little stiff and just o.k.--certainly passable.
Review 19:Review is for 3 br apartment in Via Catone, 29. This is a great location--very close to St. Peter's, the Vatican and a couple of blocks to bus and Metro lines. It is walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. The rooms are spacious and clean, but not particularly well furnished (i.e. the living room sofa and chairs are in the same big room as 3 other beds.) The apartment is a little noisy since the street below is narrow and you hear the traffic. Bottom line, I would stay there again because of the convenient location and relative value.
Review 20:Small rooms and bathroom, slow drainage in shower, no parking onsite, limited public parking around hotel, overnight parking costs €20
Review 21:Location, near Vatican and metro, comfortable bed, lots of restaurants closeby
Review 22:The room it's bad for alergic people, carpet full of dusty. I was expecting something similar of a hostel, but it's not. I didn't fell comfortable at all. Also the elevator is not good, it stoped with me inside for some minutes
Review 23:The location is good
Review 24:We liked it all but wished that the cooker worked. We were unable to cook dinner.
Review 25:The accommodation is excellent with regard to the size of the rooms. Bright big rooms with high ceilings. Aer conditioning worked well.
Review 26:slightly spooky feel to the building! Door locks were dodgy. Didn't feel particularly secure
Review 27:Good value for location - handy for metro & Vatican area
Review 28:It was hard to find the door, there was no sign next to the door.
Review 29:Service was excellent. When the breakfast was closed and we ate somewhere else we got a refund. Compliments!
Review 30:Upon arrival, there were no signs on where to go to checkin. Luckily, someone at the door showed us to the checkin in area located on the fourth floor of one of the buildings. We reserved a quad room. One queen size bed and two single beds that were actually cots. Room was very small for a family of four. Pictures on website make rooms look much more spacious than is reality. We noticed that the toilet seat was broken off upon arrival and asked the person who check us in to send someone to fix it. No one came to repair it during our stay. That night when we got into bed, we noticed that there were holes in the sheets. a phone was located in the hallway outside our room which we were to use if we needed anything, however it didn't work.
Review 31:The location from the metro and to the Vatican was great. Also the Internet connection was very good.
Review 32:Checking in one building, going to another. TV's didn;t work. There wasn't A/C and that should've been indicated clearly. The TV's didn;t work..I showed the owner the next day. The issue was with the remote controls. Very difficullt to get to if you are travelling with luggage as you have to go up several steps before getting to the Elevator
Review 33:Didn't like that the room was about a 5 min walk from reception and they don't let you know until arrival. Reception is not 24hrs so hard to contact. Breakfast was not worth the €5 I paid for, two crossaints and a coffee I don't like and that was it!! There was no menu and the owner didn't really understand what we wanted. I would if rather bought my own breakfast.
Review 34:It was close to vatican museum and the train station which was good. Very central.
Review 35:I think the unclear info on website
Review 36:Was a bit sceptical because of previous reviews but with my own research of the accommodation and email as well I everything went smoothly and was very pleased
Review 37:The location to check in is a 5-10 min walk away from the hotel depending on the type of room you book. The staff are helpful but hard to get a hold of at times
Review 38:Great facilities, air conditioning big bathroom which is cleaned everyday. Very close to the Vatican and metro lines into Roma termini.
Review 39:We are a group of friends who want separate beds so I always book hotels that state double or twin rooms and request twin rooms. Several times this trip we have been given double bed rooms and it happened again with Deluxe rooms and, to give Giovanni credit, he gave us one room with three beds and one with a double bed, but if separate beds are important you should ask for them in Special Requests and get the hotel to confirm they are available.
Review 40:Location 5 minutes from St Peter's Basilica. Rooms were very quiet.
Review 41:Michele was super nice and went above and beyond what he had to do to help us! Let us keep out baggage at the office while we walked the city even after we had to check out.
Review 42:The elevator is old, not working sometimes. On-street parking is difficult.
Review 43:Great location, can walk to Vatican museum. In an old 100-year apartment building, lots of shops and restaurants nearby.
Review 44:The Location of the property is absolutely incredible. We found a Family owned Restaurant on the corner. What an awesome experience. Everything is handmade and extremely tasty. Would highly recommend Ambruzzese to anyone. Our room was extremely neat and Friendly staff was always willing to asist.
Review 45:Shower in room was a trickle and not really usable. All sockets in room were three pin, rather than standard European plugs (not mentioned in description). Room was actually in a completely different building & street to location given in booking. WiFi seemed to have a limited number of connections, so could only connect two devices at a time (or less) depending on who else in other rooms was using it.
Review 46:Room was very close to Vatican and the Ottaviano metro. Aircon in room was very good, especially as outside it was 35C. Good location close to many restaurants and good gelato shop.
Review 47:The shower curtain was too big for the shower and kept sticking to you whilst showering.
Review 48:Loved the location and the great restaurants nearby. The room had everything we needed.
Review 49:we were around 4 families all got rooms in separate location with around 1KM distance WIFI was painful to connect First time visitors might find this as shady place but it's not not 24hrs open reception
Review 50:Location as this is very close to metro station and Vertican City Breakfast was nice Friendly staff
Review 51:Office not open 24 hrs; had to leave luggage in the morning and check in much later in the day
Review 52:Brochure with site seeing recommendations, discounts, and a map
Review 53:We were put in de dependance, threehundred meters away (Via Famagosta 45), where there was no reception. The breakfast was good, but also not in the hotel, or the dependance, but in a caffé on Via dei Gracchi (Rendez-Vous). There was no working refrigerator, no working television because they were connected to a nonworking outlet.
Review 54:Breakfast was very good, although not in the location.
Review 55:Checked in at one location then had to walk a good 10 mins to actual room. We paid for a taxi so that we didn't have to cart luggage so this was a waste of money
Review 56:Apparently we booked not advertised apartment which was not clean during the booking process. So, check-in in different place, room humidity was too high
Review 57:Friendly staff
Review 58:booked 4 person room but given 3 person room for first night. Very loud tv in next apartment in the building - not belonging to hotel. Although extra pillows requested at time of booking and during stay however never received.
Review 59:Location. Clean rooms. Friendly staff.
Review 60:No big sign outside which makes hotel hard to locate. It is within a residential area so lift is communal with residents. Breakfast is voucher located in a different street. But brakfast is Great!!
Review 61:Location Comfortable bed Clean Toilets Helpful Reception Happy with stay overall. Very authentic renaissance feel to the room old but stylish.
Review 62:AC did not work properly There is not sign outside which can give you the hint that you are approaching the Hotel, or a sign outside the building
Review 63:Kindness of the Staff The location of the Hotel Comfort and Cleanliness Free and great WIFI Ease of acces to every means of transport GREAT Value for Money
Review 64:Absolutely nothing
Review 65:Ideal location. Vatican and metro station only a short walk away. Staff are very friendly, courteous and efficient. Rooms are exceptionally clean and quiet. Great value for money.Would definitely recommend Deluxe Rooms and will stay again.
Review 66:Bathroom was very cold.
Review 67:I liked very much the cooperation with ohter businesses - restaurants, internet-points. Place did not offer breakfast themselves but in good cafe on neighbouring street, as well as offered special dinner packages with special price in selected restaurants.
Review 68:The location is amazing which is walking distance to the Vatican and the train station. The room was also very comfortable, we went in January which is winter time in Italy and they have very good heating system. I didn't need my wool pajamas to be comfy. You get your money's worth and maybe more.
Review 69:hello we have well apprcier by your accommadation against us were unable to have breakfast there as we took the plane I find it a shame for it will remain the only negative point stephane
Review 70:la proximité
Review 71:I liked everything!
Review 72:The room was comfortable and clean. The location was perfect, very close to the center.Giovanni & Veronica are very kind and helpfull!!Of course,i would stay again in Deluxe Rooms!
Review 73:- Wifi signal is weak but I could get connected. Devices may be disconnected sometimes because of weak signal.
Review 74:- Close to everywhere in Rome - Silent - Clean
Review 75:Requested an early checkin and we were confirmed one but when we reached at 1040 we were met by a very rude cleaner and receptionist who was arrogant and refused to let us checkin insisting that Giovani the owner should not approve and the early checkin was only for our bags and not room. Will definitely not recommend this place to anyone
Review 76:I didn't like that there was no staff there 24/7 even though you could have reached them by phone. Location was Central but some more lighting should be added to the yard and a sign out front would be great.
Review 77:I like that I was able to leave my bags before check-in, roam a bit and not worry about a bundle of things tagging along. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Location could not have been more central. Room was clean and well kept. I felt at home.
Review 78:would be better if this was clearly understood. be prepared for a long check in if it is a busy time ( took us about 30 mins)
Review 79:size of room great location. excellent wifi strength easy access to metro station and vatican value for money is excellent will stay here again when visiting rome next.
Review 80:Nothing to mention.
Review 81:I liked the location and the comfortable stay. Ms.Veronica was very helpful and explained us the near by site seeing places and also explained very nicely the bus point for the Airport which was very kind of her. Overall the stay was very enjoyable. Thanks.
Review 82:If you stay here for a few days, be prepared to spend a long time with the 100 yr old lift, opening and closing the 3 doors for getting in and out. I had to change rooms because the carpet was dirty and I could hear the toilet being flashed from the room above. The cleaning lady left the dirty towels on the floor and did not give me fresh ones, I had to go to another building to get them, very frustrating because there is only one person that speaks English.. a young and very friendly Italian lady..
Review 83:Easy to find, very close to the Vatican, quiet place. The extra 3 Euros for breakfast is really worth it at the cafe on the next street. Overall, I would stay here again..
Review 84:--Maybe a couple choice of breads for breakfast would be nice e.g. ciabatta as well as the current single option of a croissant -Nothing else
Review 85:-The location could not be better (The Vatican is basically at the end of the street!) -Real value for money -Helpful, friendly staff -Atmospheric neighbourhood -Comfortable room
Review 86:Host is never present. We stayed for 3 nights and never saw him regardless of the time in the day, tried morn/day/eve. I had to use my Intl minutes to reach him. Cleaning lady very rude to the point that she yelled at me trying to prove that I know Italian but don't want to admit it.After "cleaning" in the morning the room was left with garbage piling up on the floor for all 3 days of our stay there. I'm allergic to dust and sneezed throughout the night so had to buy antihistamines pills for allergy the next morning as emergency. Only 1 glass in the room, so we had to take turns with my husband to use it. Tissue box in bathroom was empty when we arrived and was never replaced. Shower was very uncomfortable with surrounding dirty plastic curtain touching the body. Breakfast in nearby cafeteria was very basic and the worst we had in Italy during our stay in 5 hotels across the country - coffee and croissant. No one told us that on Sundays that cafeteria opens only at 10 am so we left at 9 am to the airport without any breakfast. Wi-Fi worked only on the 1st day of our stay and then did not work in the next 2 days. It was situated on the 5th floor with an elevator which was broken for 2 last days of our stay. No directions for a check-in were provided, apparently check-in was in a different place than the hotel itself which was not mentioned anywhere. Paid 264 eur for 3 nights in mid-October and very regret it.
Review 87:The only thing that was ok was the location. The place was very close to Vatican and could be reached from the airport by a shuttle bus. However it is quite a distance from the shuttle bus stop- ~20 minutes so having suite cases we felt that it was quite a distance to walk.
Review 88:Quite difficult to find on the street.
Review 89:Very good location, close to the Vatican City. You have to be prepared it is like a self service, so there is no room service at anytime, but in case you need something, owners are very helpful. Comfortable rooms. Clean and quiet place. Above our expectation !
Review 90:we spend 2,5 hours only to get into this room. nobody care about it. you have to go 30 min from the reception in ugly corridor to the house in one km from the address in booking. don't spend you time.
Review 91:The single room is really small but servicable.
Review 92:Small but clean shower, reliable wifi, kind and helpful staff. Breakfastis simple Italian in a bar (capuccino + croissant but they change it fortea on request), not much but delicious and you can opt for more for afew euros. I loved the atmosphere of the building with the old lift andthe lovely inner garden.
Review 93:We are grateful to Giovanni and Veronica for welcoming us to their hotel- Deluxe Rooms on Via Catone. It is an excellent place from which we can started our tour! Everywhere is very close. The location is outstanding!!!! The service is very nice! The atmosphere of real Italian home. The room had air conditioning, TV, fridge and bathroom with shower. Breakfast in Luna's bar was very delicious. How and nice Polish service. We will certainly return there again. We recommend all!!!! Grazie Giovanni, Veronica and Ramona!! See you soon in next year :)
Review 94:The walk from the SIT bus stop (i.e. the bus that commutes between FCO Rome Airport, the Vatican area and Rome CBD) and the via Catone 21 Quality Rooms would be difficult to navigate is not abled. Footpaths are uneven and pot-holed, so care is needed to avoid an injury that might mar one's stay. No in-room coffee/tea facilities (and although not my preference, there is no mini-bar); however, plenty of places to eat and drink nearby.
Review 95:The rooms although small are located in a traditional Rome style six-storey building with rear close. Reception and cleaning staff were friendly, and willing to help (e.g. while awaiting a guide to the room, reception staff made me coffee and a cleaner escorted me to the head-booking office when I appeared not to understand his directions). I hasten to add that the character is wonderful but the rooms would not be to everyone's taste. That said, I would not hesitate staying again if the opportunity presents.
Review 96:small room for 3 persons, not the reserved 3 single beds, no reception at arrival -except between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., had to collect the key at night in a strange city
Review 97:Good location, frienly staff
Review 98:It is totally wrong what's on the website. Our check in was not at Deluxe Rooms, so we have waisted our time going there... Spare apartment was not close to Vatican City, was at the other end of Rome... On the website information says: breakfast included?! We haven't had any breakfast, so another wrong information. To travel from Deluxe Rooms to the Apartment we have spend an extra 20 Euros for taxi. Staff not really friendly.
Review 99:Food around the Apartment.
Review 100:elevator was down for the first two days. Hard to move luggages.
Review 101:Excellent location. Very close to vatican and metro. Easy to reach from airport. Considerate instruction for tourist on meal and sight-seeing. Nice staff.
Review 102:Just one person at the recepcion; the only one to do the check-in, show the rooms, answer the phone and take care the guest's request in a really bussy place.
Review 103:Location is good. 10 minutes walking from the San Pedro square; is a quiet area during the night, within the day you will enjoy the cafés and bars and the multiple food and shopping choices around. You have a metro stop less than 5 minutes walking and many bus stops at Piazza del Risorgimento. Building has a historical interest. Really nice yard. Nice and clean rooms and not bad breakfast in a stylish place called Romeo Service care of the guests
Review 104:unfamiliarity of the booking system and expecting a room in one location, but being moved to another location when I arrived (although it was very close by and a better room)
Review 105:location : I wanted to be in the Vatican area, so this accommodation was perfect for me value for money : it had all the facilities I needed, the room had a fridge, hairdryer and ensuite shower room at a reasonable price breakfast : great cafe close by staff: friendly, courteous and helpful
Review 106:Mosquitos and bed bugs. My husband and 4 yr old child suffered a bit. we used mosquito repellent, however the nights were a bit uncomfortable because of that.
Review 107:Location is very good, close to metro, vatican and good shopping options around Staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. The best in our 3 week trip to Italy We were given a triple room for a part of our stay, although we had booked a double room. It was a nice gesture. For breakfast, the hotel provides vouchers of nearby restaurants - basic coffee and croissant - which is good enough. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Room cleaning service is good. They even provided us with an iron which was great. Wifi is excellent. So is the AC. The hotel provides discounts on vatican guided tours too.
Review 108:Good location near Vatican museum, St. Peters Basilica, tube. Nice owners Veronika a Giovanni, very helpul. Clean and quiet room, available kettle and coffee maker, small fridge, towels, hairdryer. Great bar ROMEO - excellent breakfast - coffee, croissants. Good ratio between quality and price
Review 109:The amenities were outsourced to local restaurants which were, for the most part, poor in quality. The room was actually more of a bedroom in an apartment turned makeshift hotel.
Review 110:The room was inexpensive. It was also close to the vatican perimeter, and felt more like an apartment than a hotel, giving a rustic, authentic feeling to the experience in some ways.
Review 111:Our stay in Rome was really nice and easy thanks to Deluxe Rooms: very close to the Vatican and public transports, almost always we moved on foot. The staff were very helpful. Clean room in the best location in Rome. Thanks !
Review 112:We had three beds for four people and unfortunately, because the room was quite small so 1 bed was placed in front of the bathroom's door. We really didnt like that bed :(
Review 113:The attitude of staffs was good, made we feel comfortable. And the location was ok, near metro and Vatican :)
Review 114:When checking into hotel found out the room was located roughly 7 blocks away from the hotel. Hotel did not provide transportation to these rooms and had us drag our luggage from the check in counter to the new room. We flew out on a Saturday and found out there was no one manning the check-in counter on the weekends until 2pm and no ones we located in our room to call for a cab. This hotel needs to fix this for future customers.
Review 115:Good location.
Review 116:You have to wait the opening of reception counter for check-in. It's open between 2-7pm (afternoon only).
Review 117:Near Vatican City. Metro, restaurants are nearby. Good security at night, not many strangers on the street. Prompt response from the hotel staff after email them. Polite and helpful staff including reception, cleaning team)
Review 118:Breakfast in seperate location could be a bid more 'international' (more variety)
Review 119:Location Clean Excellent WiFi! Very helpful & friendly staff (owner)
Review 120:nothing really
Review 121:location was really great, just next to vatican museum..room was small but after reading reviews we expected it..free wifi, air confition in the room was just really good..also small breakfast just next door was nice..for the oveall price we could not get more..we spent most of our days out anyways
Review 122:Perfect location, it is just minutes from the centre of Vatican and its main attractions. The Staff is very nice and helpful. The owner showed us what we can visit and was present to be at hand. We were equipped with the maps and the staff told us what to see and how to get there. We were offered free tea and coffe. The standard of the rooms was very good for reasonable price. Brekfast in a nearby caffeteria was delicious.
Review 123:Extra bed in the room was not needed but in the way. Sink drain was borderline clogged but okay
Review 124:Great location close to many sights and 5 minutes from public transport Clean and comfortable rooms Trust principle works well
Review 125:No body was on the front door to let us in. We wait with our bags for 10 min.
Review 126:Rooms are clean and in good shape. Thay help me to print my online tickets. I will recomend it to everyone.
Review 127:The building in which these rooms are located is very old, run down, and dirty. This hotel shares the building with several other business and residents. The office and personal are only available from 4 pm to 7 pm daily. So if you show up at 2pm you must wait. No one will greet you, store your bags, etc. I suggest you bring your own soap to use in very small shower. I was traveling with my husband and 14 year old and 20 year old sons and room too small for all of us. They rolled in bed for the boys. No hooks to hang wet towels in bathroom. No room for suitcases. We had to store up right against the wall and open when needed. Rooms are run down and crowded.
Review 128:Location, location, location! About 5 minute walk to Vatican and nice restaurants close by. Also, the price is very inexpensive.
Review 129:The room is very small, but clean. If you have a larger family or want some privacy from the kiddos, you may want to make sure they have a larger room available or a couple of rooms to reserve. Also, make sure you have the phone number handy, as they are not easy to find. All in all, we were very pleased.
Review 130:The staff was very friendly and helpful, and they were easy to contact if we had any questions. The room was neat and clean, and they made sure we had anything we needed to be comfortable during our stay. The hotel is within walking distance to St. Peter's. There are several shops and restaurants in the neighborhood, and there is a metro station nearby, which made traveling around the city very easy. This is a great place to stay if you are looking for convenience and a great price.
Review 131:They offer this apartment with wrong adress in booking!!! This apartmentis not at vatican city, it is one hour away!!! It is not even close to aMetro station, have to take a bus like 15min... Maybe it is writtensomewhere small in a text, but how can I know in advance which street iswhere in Rome, your information is wrong, it is abuse of the bookingsearch function!! One will not even meet the owner personally becauseyou have to pick up the key in a bar nearby, this is the only contact.Besides that we did not have warm water the first day and internet didnot work at all.
Review 132:Contact and Reaction of the owner when we needed something. Apartmentwas clean.
Review 133:TV broken and no windows and short time hot shower.Non friendly reception.Far from any photo in booking com.
Review 134:Close to Batican and meseum
Review 135:Very limited no of charging points, Heater didn't work properly
Review 136:The cleanliness, the decor and the well-connected location
Review 137:Everything! We cannot receive our breakfast vouchers refund because we couldn't used.
The Fine Print
