Reviews for Kurobe View Hotel

Review 1:Wifi only available in lobby area.

Review 2:Great mountain view from Jap style tatami room for 4 pax, with 2 toilets and 1 bathroom. Delicious jap bfast and kaiseki dinner and free onsen.

Review 3:The room had a musty smell that remained even though we sprayed the room fragrance which was provided by the hotel.

Review 4:We used the luggage forwarding service at Tateyama, and it was convenient to be able to send our luggages directly to the hotel. The room was very spacious, and the hot baths were good. The dinner was also quite delicious.

Review 5:In the whole town, there's only one lovely cafe and one family isakaya to eat if you go out of the hotel. The hotel only provides full-set Japanese meals for dinner.

Review 6:Quiet place, country view, and good spa.

Review 7:- curtains are quite thin and does not block out the sunlight

Review 8:- spacious room with great view - onsen facilities both indoor and outdoor - nice lobby and common areas - great location for the Alpine Route (bus transfer and luggage forwarding services were available)

Review 9:No wifi in the room. From talking via e-mail, hotel told me that they can serve dinner for free if I arrive the hotel before 18:00, but after I arrive before 18:00. Hotel said that dinner is not free. May be it's because of the language. I just a bit disappointed. I would not expect if there is no e-mail from hotel. Anyway, overall of this hotel is very good.

Review 10:Room is very large and clean. Mountain view is very good. Onsen is very good without extra charge Breakfast is very nice.

Review 11:Great location for the Alpen route, and a simple easy transfer to the starting coach Beautiful hotel, friendly staff and lovely Japanese buffet breakfast. Didn't even get to the Onsen, but still value for money!

Review 12:From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and the staff went to great lengths to ensure our needs were met - even serving breakfast early for us and driving us to the bus stop the next morning! The room was huge by any standard, with large windows and separate toilet and bathroom. I didn't enjoy the futon but my husband loved it and I'm glad I tried it. We didn't try the onsen but it looked beautiful. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Review 13:The staff are courteous and make me and friend felt welcome. Contacted us to offer help to pick us up from the bus stop and waited despite the fact we were late.

Review 14:- It was so crowded on the day I visited

Review 15:- The room is really beaulitul with very nice view of mountains and rice field. - The room size is big and very confortable - Onsen - Breakfast - The staffs were very helpful and they helped me organize my trip to Tateyama Kurobe Alpine route and also helped us to send our lugguages to Toyama station.

Review 16:Our stay was too short.

Review 17:We had a short but wonderful stay. We received a helpful and polite welcome from the staff, and helped us to arrange our baggage transfer for the Alpine Route. The Japanese room was simple but very comfortable, and the onsen was as good as any we visited in Japan. We had a wonderful meal with an incredible range of delicious Japanese food.

Review 18:If you arrive at Shinano Omachi station late in the evening, your only option may be to hail a cab to get to the hotel since public buses and the hotel shuttle will not be running at that time. Will set you back about 3,000 yen (I negotiated with the cabbie for 2,600 in the beginning). I used a US Chase credit card to pay, and their machine couldn't read it initially. Staff had to call up VISA and input a special code. Took about 20 minutes to resolve.

Review 19:I got a large, clean tatami room (could fit 3 people comfortably) with private shower and toilet. There is also a public bath and indoor/outdoor onsen. I booked last minute and paid about 15,000 yen. Friendly, helpful staff who also speak English. Great location to start the Tateyama Kurobe hike.

Review 20:If the first time, a bit of challenge to find the way to the hotel because it's in a small village kilometres outside Omachi. You need a local bus to get there (though you always find someone ready to help)

Review 21:Ryokan-quality experience... Open-air as well as indoor onsens Own rock garden Large traditional rooms with the mountain view, etc. In the middle of the countryside Helpful staff, speaking excellent English Luggage transfer service if You take Kurobe Alpine route Free transport to/ from the local bus stop Exceptionally well-located if taking Kurobe Alpine route next morning; basically that's why we've chosen this hotel.

Review 22:While most hotels in Japan charge by the number of people, this hotel charge by the room. So if you are single, the cost can be quite high.

Review 23:The room was quite large and the hotel provides a delicious breakfast.

Review 24:Just had a slight problem organising the free shuttle. I had tried to organise it prior to our arrival and was told to ring when I arrived but of course none of our phones worked for the numbers provided. We were helped by a very friendly bus driver however, and all was resolved.

Review 25:We were lucky enough to stay at a very quiet time of year so had the beautiful onsen pretty much to ourselves which was a real treat. Our room had an exceptional view into the mountains and it was very spacious and comfortable. Good place to start trip Alpen Route.

Review 26:Friendly and helpful staff, lovely breakfast buffet, clean and spacious room.

Review 27:The rooms are big and clean.

Review 28:Variety of food for breakfast should increase a little bit.

Review 29:Everything.

Review 30:No curtain made it a bit too bright in the morning.

Review 31:Excellent hot spot, very clean, good meal, comfy stay

Review 32:No wifi in room

Review 33:The staff is very friendly

Review 34:Corridor and room smelt of Japanese pickles.

Review 35:Onsen.

Review 36:I had a problem with public Telephone to call hotel bus. Some sofas are very old and look not clean.

Review 37:Onsen outdoor is good.

Review 38:The onsen were great. the room was very spacy and clean.

Review 39:Location is quite far away from the station. Nothing to see in nearby.

Review 40:Clean and spacious. The staff are very helpful.

Review 41:There was nothing of interest around the near vicinity of the hotel.

Review 42:The service from the front office was excellent. A pleasant lady at the lobby greeted us warmly and she spoke in perfect English. It was unfortunate we didn’t get her name, but we think it’s probably Miyashita. She accommodated our requests and did an excellent job in arranging our customized dinner. She also arranged transport and an early breakfast for us since we had to catch the first bus out to Shinano-Omachi the next morning. We really appreciated her first class service and all the other hotel employees who were polite, friendly and attentive to our needs.

Review 43:Great staff - attentive, would do anything to help, even with limited English skills. Very nice Onsen. Good variety at breakfast (Japanese style). Spacious room gave us a truly Japanese night experience. Omachi Onsen village is very small but we saw beautiful cherry blossom at early May. Ideal for relax... Don't expect a lot to do ... Only 2 or 3 restaurants and shops.

Review 44:WiFi only in the lobby, not in the room.

Review 45:Very friendly staff with very good English speaking personnel. Very spacious and clean (japanese style) rooms and onsen.Very good functioning bus shuttle (just call from the bus station) and very good service: on the return we were brought to the train station 15 km away at no costs, although normally they bring guests to a near bus station.

Review 46:This was one of our best hotels in Japan. Onsen is amazing!!! (the best we have been). Very good location if you go to Kurobe dam. Very helpfull staff. Very nice views to nature from japanesse style room. Room very spacious.

Review 47:Room for japanese-style And staff very nice pick up my group at station

Review 48:A bit far from Omatchi Onsen Kyo bus stop but the hotel has free shettle service (advance reservation required)

Review 49:Friendly and supportive staff

Review 50:Nothing

Review 51:I like bout they service from arrive until departure
