Reviews for El Cozumeleño Beach Resort - All Inclusive
Review 1:Our room was on the 5th floor near the main air conditioning unit for the building so we heard a bit of hum in our room
Review 2:Nice hotel, friendly staff with very hardworking servers in the restaurants and bars. Evening a la carte dinner was really good and beautifully presented.
Review 3:Details were to be desired. cocktail napkins in the dining facility was insufficient as were lack of utensils. Also, one of our rooms did not have efficient air conditioning so a fan was brought in. Very hot!!!
Review 4:The pool and beach were nice.
Review 5:As indicated the front desk staff not helpful at all. Had to get the manager involved. One time accidentally used my key to open another room. No interior door security latch. The back balcony door latch hard to open / close.
Review 6:The pool outside was great.
Review 7:There should two Queen beds in our Luxury room. The beds were very uncomfortable like sleeping on the floor.
Review 8:The view from the room was amazing(Great for Sunset Pictures). The snorkeling was amazing because of the clear water. There was a pier right off the property teeming with fish. Pools were fun for the kids.
Review 9:Sorry El Coz, but your beds are pretty rough. Like sleeping on box springs. And the towels are so threadbare you can almost see through them. Not kidding. Invest some money in mattresses, bedding and towels. Seriously! That's it. Everything else was wonderful.
Review 10:Resort grounds are beautiful. View was gorgeous. Staff incredibly friendly. Great drinks. Buffet food WAS good! Despite the negative comments. Hey, you're in Mexico. Eat what the locals eat! They know what they're doing! Snorkeling was awesome. Hotel was minutes to downtown.
Review 11:Standing in line for dinner reservations. Unlimited number of nights you can eat there, but it requires a reservation each day. You need to arrive by 7:30 am to get a table when reservation line opens at 8. Would almost prefer a set number of "formal meal tickets" if you could book them all at once. Standing in line lets you meet a lot of nice people...unfortunately it also forces you to be around some people who are always unhappy and most likely impossible to please.
Review 12:Friendliness of staff Can order off the menu for every meal if you don't like buffet choices. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent! Great service, unhurried, and delicious food. Location: easy to get to/from airport, downtown and shopping. Snorkeling off beach is just as good as a paid trip to the reef. Rooms are very large and clean. Fun activities: putt putt golf, floating "island" off beach, volleyball, tennis, horseshoes, live bands, dancing, etc. Great value! We have been to Cozumel 3 times this year and have stayed at 3 different resorts. Has similar numbers of "pros" and "cons" to our favorite, but was considerably less.
Review 13:It would be nice to have more bike tour so that people can get one rather than wait for three days
Review 14:The staffs are very helpful. The food are good and the environment is nice
Review 15:This is the first time we went down to Cozumel and first time staying at the resort. We plan to visit yearly and this would be our place to stay, loved everything about it from the staff, to the view everything I highly recommend it.
Review 16:would have preferred having more food choices (in the palapa) on the nights of shows, since I wasn't interested in attending them.
Review 17:The graciousness of the staff, and Pilar, the Activities Director, in particular. The resort's location on the water with beautiful views; staff recommendations that were helpful for negotiating while in town.
Review 18:Room key was a regular one, cards shall be considered
Review 19:Natural pool, prepared for ironman event, regardless of not had served eggs on race day
Review 20:The Beach
Review 21:front desk staff
Review 22:location and weather
Review 23:The food could have been a little better.
Review 24:Very clean and friendly staff.
Review 25:People
Review 26:Beach
Review 27:The loud music at the bar, the terrible food (stay away from everything except the tacos and grilled meat), old tube TV.
Review 28:The view, the snorkeling, the daily bottled water, balcony, attempt at a sandy beach(rocky)
Review 29:Hotel needs updates, serious infrastructure problems, sewer smells were frequent, the bathroom in our suite was perhaps redone in the 1980s, pretty sketchy.airconditioner had a very strong smell of bleach , had to turn it off every time we returned to room, sad because the views were awesome but hard to enjoy.
Review 30:We enjoyed the beach and snorkelling, great international mix of fellow travellers.
Review 31:Had a friend who lives in Cozumel & the front door man woulldn'tlet them past the door because he wasn't a guest.
Review 32:There is so much to do at this hotel, you don't need to ever leave.
Review 33:The beds were quite uncomfortable, and we would've liked a bicycle rental.
Review 34:The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was for the most part fantastic! The drinks were delicious and not watered down. The snorkeling was amazing and the beach was so relaxing. Great value for the money - I would go there again, and I highly recommend it!
Review 35:There is only 1 upscale restaurant. The menu changes daily but the environment is the same. The dessert tray only ever has 3 choices none of which is left over from the day before and all are available at lunch in the buffet bar. The "free" wifi does not work well in your room. You need to sit on the balcony and if you are on a lower floor, you still cant get enough signal strength.
Review 36:The resort is small and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is plentiful and hot, even when it is in the warming trays. There are plenty of free activities. both for mini-golf and snorkelling, the free equipment is plentiful and in good condition.
Review 37:Food was horrible, same food every meal. Beverage/liquor service was sparce, not enough bartenders or servers, expected tips every time they served you. Room design was great, but we had bed bugs. Not enough beach chairs/ lounge chairs for all the guests.
Review 38:Location to downtown and airport was great. Wi-Fi in lobby was great.
Review 39:Not much to do
Review 40:All inclusive
Review 41:Food was terrible, so were the drinks. I spent more money dinning in town.
Review 42:Nice room, friendly staff
Review 43:The bycicles were very poor quality
Review 44:Rooms were a little dated.
Review 45:Nice pools, beach location. Rooms were very spacious. New Years Eve celebration was wonderful!
Review 46:Slightly far from activities
Review 47:Well priced, very friendly staff, good snorkeling, they would arrange any tour we wanted
