Reviews for Sanrik Holiday Bungalow

Review 1:Air conditioning water pipe in bathroom deposited water all over the bathroom floor, pipe could easily be diverted into shower area keeping all the rest of the bathroom dry. Wet feet to go to toilet is not good. Decor of building inside is not too good. Deluxe room was not impressive. No european news channels on tv box.

Review 2:Clean room, nice "Monkey watching" balcony pleasant and attentive manager who works mostly on his own, he does the bookings organises the rooms, all meals.

Review 3:- one time the toast for breakfast was molded. It was a lot of green mold on it and normally they must have seen it. There was a lot of other delicious food and we did not need the toast.

Review 4:- friendly staff - clean room and bathroom - good safari organization and good price - very good food for breakfast and dinner

Review 5:The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. We booked the safari through them which was hassle free. The dinner and breakfast were amazing and plentiful. Monkey's in the trees were a treat to watch and it was very tranquil. I would recommend the stay

Review 6:If I have to be picky, the WiFi was a bit poor.

Review 7:The place is really nice. The common area well furnished, the food (dinner and breakfast) really good. The staff, helpful and gentle. The room and the bathroom were clean and spacious.

Review 8:Breakfast was delicious but unfortunately supper wasn't as good. The curry was served cold and there wasn't quite enough to go round, and we were very hungry after a day of travelling!

Review 9:We stayed at Sanrik just for one night as we were going on Safari at Udawalawe early the next morning. Ranjan organised our safari in a private jeep and it was very good value for money - the safari is amazing and I would highly recommend it. We had breakfast on our return and it was delicious with plenty to eat including the delicious Sri Lankan Pani Pol pancakes. We had a family room and Rajan was very accommodating when we needed an extra bed in the room - 5 of us slept very comfortably. The room and bathroom were very clean.

Review 10:Helped organise our safari for a good price, delicious dinner was served on our night there which was good as there aren't many other options nearby

Review 11:the house lies nicely at a river and you can see monkeys in the trees. it is extremely clean.and the baths have got european standard. whatever you need the owner gets it and als cooks very good in the evening. across the road is a hotel where you can also eat very nice in a pavillon. the safari is absolutely great must do!

Review 12:Not a good experience overall. Arriving at 7pm, manager told us there was some kind of trouble with Booking.com leading to rooms being double-booked. If it was true or not was not the point, he kept speaking and speaking and not offering solutions, which finally was to stay overnight in an empty room that pretty looked like a service room, although he denied it. This was fine for us, but we still had to bargain about the price - it could not be the same. We would have appreciate too if he had solved this issue before starting to offer safari deals for the next day. At the end, lots of trouble for an overnight stay. Regular rooms seemed good though, probably a good deal if you avoid all the pointless discussion beforehand.

Review 13:Staff is smiling and friendly and the meals are good value.

Review 14:I asked before arrival to get transportation arranged so I could drive back to the airport and the hotel said yes.....but....The managers were pushing the safari package so hard that I ended up making my own arrangements to get to the airport. Honestly the shared ride with complete strangers was the best part of our stay. Customer service sucked and I would not stay again. I caught the manager in a few half truths and when confronted I was told to take my issue up with booking.com. He insisted that I was not entitled to hot water and said that he would pack a snack pack for us to travel but did not. Dinner was expensive. The room we got was full of LIVE spiders.

Review 15:Dinner was good and they give you plenty of food. He did make arrangements for me to use another bathroom with hot water.

Review 16:The door to the room is not isolated, you here everything'n from the lobby and stairs.

Review 17:Very good help with the safari park tour. They arrange a car with lunch.

Review 18:The staff were very friendly, accommodating, helpful, great with the children, monkeys can be seen in the backyard area, supplied us with binoculars, scheduled taxis and organized the safari for us, packed breakfast for us, amd did our laundry. It is a wonderful place that also serves delicious local food.

Review 19:Well, its a hostel/ budget accomodation... Not much of a river view, as described on booking.com

Review 20:Very nice owner couple, felt very welcome. Fair price for breakfast and dinner. In the middle of nothing, so nothing around by walking, but also just 10 mins drive to elephant transit. Quite. Would stay there again!

Review 21:The bed and breakfast was very reasonably priced and not far from Udawalawe park. The room was basic and clean, comfortable bed. We had tasty curries for dinner at The b&b. Friendly caretakers. They helped us arrange a safari, we saw so many elephants: groups of females, babies, males, and buffalos, beautiful birds, many peacocks and even a crocodile. Udawalawe is a place to go to for the park, there isn't so much else to do in the town.

Review 22:Mr Ranjan and his staff were super friendly and helpful. They tried their best to fulfill our wishes. The atmosphere was nice. The room was clean. The food was good. The house is close to the entrance of the National Park. The view out of the room is really nice with the river and the trees. WiFi connection was really good. For this price you can't get anything better!

Review 23:Nothing this place is perfect

Review 24:I would 100% recommend you stay at this hotel it is in a good location, absolutely spotless, great value for money as other hostels hotels for this price in Sri Lanka are very basic it's also nice to have a nice hot shower. Most of all our favourite bit of this hotel is meeting Santa who was absolutely amazing to us, he works so hard and is so passionate and caring we love this man and i would stay here again just to be round him - what a lovely man!! he made our stay the most pleasurable stay in Sri Lanka, plus his cooking is amazing

Review 25:Our host impressed us with kindness and warm welcome. We got amazing food for dinner and breakfast! In the morning (5 am) other company guy send us text informing they can't come pick us up! Manager took us to park entrance for no fee! That saved our day and safari. Thank you Mr Sangrik:)

Review 26:None really. There isn't much else to do in the area except for the national park but that's not really the hotel's fault.

Review 27:Friendly staff, delicious meals, clean & comfortable rooms - all at a very reasonable price! The owner wasn't around at the time of our stay but the elderly gentleman who appeared to be in charge (can't remember his name) was very kind and helpful. They also help you to arrange safaris at Udawalale National Park. Our guide, Sujee, was very approachable and knowledgeable. He also brought us to the elephant orphanage to watch the feeding.

Review 28:No Toothbrush, no toothpaste, no body wash , no hair shampoo. Whilst almost all the Srilanka hotel does not serve these.

Review 29:1) very clean and organized hotel 2) the breakfast is the best we had in Srilanka, even compared with the hotel cost 90 USD one night 3) the Hotel provide Safari Jeep service is much cheaper than outside, the driver is also very nice. 2500 Rs for 2 people sharing the Jeep with other 2. 4) the boss is very nice and customer oriented, he helped me fix the issue and saved my money. He also cares very much about customer experience on his hotel

Review 30:New hotel and owners, still finding their feet but nothing to worry about. No restaurants, bars or any entertainment in the town.

Review 31:Good tour guide arranged Nice garden overlooking the river, often monkeys and large lizards there. New building Nice dinner upon request

Review 32:I didn't like the fact that the location felt very isolated. I was the only guest while there, and so I think this amplified it. I felt like they had not expected me as a guest despite the reservation and email communication before I arrived. There is nothing nearby to walk to, so be prepared for that fact if you book.

Review 33:I loved the fact that they had hot showers at this location. the television in the lobby area was nice, since there is basically nothing to do there. There was one man who was really helpful, he even gave me a ride to get food, and a ride to the bus station when I left. I was thankful for that.

Review 34:Nothing bad

Review 35:The owner is so nice, helpful, and sincere. He is always thinking of ways to improve his place for his guests. The property is new and very cool with a coy pond in the lobby. There are monkeys in the back yard every day, which was a fun treat. Our first night there he built a small bonfire for us outside and was always available for advice or to answer questions. He also has an amazing safari driver connection.

Review 36:Only downside was that it could be a little noisy due to the mezzanine still entrance way.

Review 37:Ranjan the owner was amazing!!! We were travelling as two couples, arrived at 1.30, they organised a safari tour for us to leave at 2.30- saw every animal.possible, then got home about 7. Then we met ranjan who made us feel like royalty. Organised a fresh cooked meal to our specific preferences, found beers, ciggarettes and even thongs(flipflops) for the boys. Honestly could not ask for a better host!! Location is tucked behind main road on the river, surrounded by jungle. These are not bungalows but large rooms in an architecturally designed house complete with indoor fish pond. We would definitely recommend and soon he will open one in Ella.

Review 38:Beautiful hotel with modern architecture and beautiful located nearby the river. The owner is like good family! Wild Park is only 15 minutes away and you should definitely take the safari provides by this hotel. We saw dozens of elephants! Breakfast was Sri lankan and western, so everyone can have it their way.

Review 39:The owners were really nice and helpful. They gave us suggestions on where to go around the area. The owner actually came to pick us up from the bus drop which was very nice. The rooms are well equipped and clean and comfortable. They had fixed breakfast for us the next morning which was really good. In addition, they coordinated transportation for us to go to the Safari. Overall a very good place to stay, completely worth it.

Review 40:Location as there is nothing to do besides going to Uda Walawe NP and the elephant orphanage.

Review 41:Great staff and very big triple room with the most comfortable beds. Clean room and bathroom (except for the ants). The view from the room is great and even more when the garden is fully landscaped.

Review 42:Location is somewhat further from the park, but that's not really a problem.

Review 43:Nice staff, beautiful room, good shower, good food.

Review 44:A lovely spot by the river and helpful, friendly hosts. Safari they organised was great.

Review 45:wifi in comment area only and no hot water for bath

Review 46:Safari maybe a bit expensive.

Review 47:Super hotel, brand new, good location, very nice staff. Food available on demand. Very good breakfast
