Reviews for Now Jade Riviera Cancun-All Inclusive
Review 1:They were doing a lot of construction at the time (Dec 2015) and it was loud and took away from the relaxing resort feel.
Review 2:The rooms were all updated, large, and lovely! The resort is big enough to have a nice variety of restaurants, but not so big that you're walking miles to get anywhere.
Review 3:Hugely overpriced. Hardselling of coupons, offers and the like. All the restaurants except the general buffet are indoors (just halls in the same building)- besides, the food is not great, and the choice is poor. Strangely, the Mexican restaurant is the most poorly located. The beach is rocky, no good swimming areas. Almost no fresh fruit or juice. The gym is tiny for such a big hotel - gets overcrowded. The 'Ocean view' category includes rooms with very questionable ocean views (partial and across the main pool), for real ocean views choose 'ocean front'.
Review 4:The views from our room was excellent. The bed was comfortable.
Review 5:Be very careful here and make sure you are booking for number of people actually staying in room. Rates are often quoted for single staying in room although The wording on web page at booking.com says room for two adults and two children. Being charged over $100 US for extra person per day blew the budget. Notice once we got to resort the webpage ad had raised the rates to show this. Keep copy of your original web page off internet at booking so you have correct info to show hotel or booking.com otherwise you are stuck with those huge extra costs. Booking doesn't' help!!! Thank goodness they had good swimming pools as the beach was nasty not at all what we were lead to believe.
Review 6:The sun.
Review 7:We were immediately greeted upon arrival with warm towels. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The food was amazing. Beautiful resort! Overall we had an unforgettable experience. This is a resort I definitely recommend. We are already planning our next stay in 2016.
Review 8:Nothing was unlikable enough to mention!
Review 9:Food is significantly better than other all-inclusives Staff is really awesome The room was a highlight!!! The bed was more comfortable than my 2k$ bed at home!!!
Review 10:The room was not a suit like we ordered. The AC did not work in one room for two days had to ask about 10 times before it was fixed. The Jacuzzi were very old and needed to be replaced.
Review 11:The service we got from the individual employees was outstanding. Bring a wad of singles and find one or two servers at the pool to insure your drinks are full at all times. Food was changing all the time and very good.
Review 12:If you coming just to stay in the resort - it's perfect! If you plan to go to the city or playa - it will take you 30-40 min and it will be expensive.
Review 13:Great service, great facilities, the beach was amazing, the pool with the bar really cool, they cleaning twice a day your room, the food especially on the dineers - wow! Great value for money!
Review 14:The prices are extremely high! If you need to buy something at the store you will pay triple more expansive then the prices outside the resort. The taxi prices again double then the actually price. I guess the resort take 100% commission. As well for spa, photos- prepare to pay much more then the accepted in Mexico.
Review 15:We loved everything! The food, the pool, the beach (even with the seaweed). The staff was awesome. We actually book 4 nights and expanded for 2 more nights!
Review 16:Being sat down by the only rude member of staff we saw, the minute we checked in, and being shown the time share option (or whatever correct term for it is) was very off putting. He was very abrupt and rude. Also a dress code for some of the restaurants while in chill out holiday mode wasn't our cup of tea.
Review 17:The friendliness/helpfulness of the staff was exceptional. General overall service was great.
Review 18:The resort is located in a mangrove swamp area so wife did have some issues with mosquitoes, but that is to be expected in many tropical regions so just come prepared. The beaches were covered in seaweed, so not as nice as we are used to back home in Florida. And there was a sulfur smell at times. But don't let these minor inconveniences keep you from a wonderful trip to a country rich in culture and things to do.
Review 19:The resort was clean and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful and a notch above the other all inclusive resorts we have had the opportunity to visit. You are able to visit numerous on site restaurants of which all were quite good. The buffet is also excellent with options for everyone.
Review 20:Our room was very noisy. At the weekend came a lot of families from countryside with kids. They are jumping into the (adult) pool and nowbody keep care of them or say something. Not possible to relax
Review 21:Fantastic food and service.Great pool area.
Review 22:We were offered spa vouchers in exchange for us attending the 90 minute tine share sales pitch. For 90 minutes we decided it was worth it however the sales tactics were very agressive as soon as we said no and we finally managed to leave after 3 hours. This left a bad taste and impression of the resort. Resort on the whole is not a 5 star more like 4 star
Review 23:Entertainment staff are fantastic!
Review 24:Location was very isolated. It is a $25/ $20 taxi ride to the next closest hotel, which is a sister property that you can visit for dinner.
Review 25:The rooms were amazing. Great bathroom, comfy bed, very spacious. No wristbands or towel cards required. Dinner reservations not required as well. Food was considerably better than another all-inclusive we've stayed (yet still not stellar). The "Quiet pool" is a great option for those wanting a more adults only experience with a nice view of the beach.
Review 26:Facilities - this is an old hotel which was SLIGHTLY renovated by New owner 'NOW resorts' which does not equate to 5* hotel - 3.5 max; there is mold in the airconditioning, very small and overcrowded pool, wet surfaces are slippery and dangerous for kids, facilities are old and have damp smell - overall poor value for money
Review 27:friendliness of personnel
Review 28:1) The first night we came (around 11 P.M.) they told that they did not have a room for us even with a 4-month booking in advance! They have sent us to another hotel. The next morning they gave us a room that was absolutely not an ocean-view that we have booked. We have lost 3 nights before we have got the booked room. In all this situation the staff of the hotel was incredibly rude and lied to our faces! In the they have given 4 massages in spa but also with quarrels :((((2) Massages in SPA a really poor and cost 215$ per 80 min; 3) The beach is full of seaweeds completely and you cannot enter the sea (even if they say it's abnormal this year) and in general there are sharp stones so it is difficult to enter into water.
Review 29:Perfect food! Various and delicious breakfasts and lunches in a buffetrestaurant and evenings you can choose one of 5 restaurants a-la-carte(mexican, italian, french, mediterranean and asian cuisine). You canenjoy your drinks also in pool as the glasses were made of plastic butseemed like of glass :)
Review 30:The food quality was not to the standard I would have expected and the pool area is noisey and crowded
Review 31:The rooms were spacious and well air conditioned. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The location of he property was also good.
Review 32:Nothing around the hotel really. If you wanted to go to the nearby resort (Marina) which was 2mins exactly away (had to go to a wedding) the hotel charge $10. That's insane and not fair!!!! There is also a near by town which is about 7mins away they charge about $30 . Because of the expensive taxi prices and there's not much around, I won't be staying at Jade anymore.
Review 33:The food was amazing and the service from the hotel staff was great!
Review 34:The resort credit offered is not what i would call credit...its coupons allowing you a small discount off only certain items. Minor building works outside our room were inconvenient. Being told the price in USD for everything rather than pesos...its mexico not the usa.
Review 35:Range of food and drink options included as part of all inclusive, (bars and restaurants). Staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities are good including the hospitality area where u can shower after spending the day at the hotel if you have a late flight.
Review 36:The pool bars are understaffed, zero pool activities, the beach is washed away with seaweed everywhere, and the road leading to the resort is in terrible need of repair.
Review 37:The buffet breakfast is great!
Review 38:As expected there was a large north American contingent who were enjoying their break.
Review 39:Truly all inclusive, good choice of restaurants, amazing list of activities, staff gave 5* treatment. Nicely and well away from the highway and the town.
Review 40:We was in the building #2 3 floor there was not good smell from lagune
Review 41:Wifi - free in all resort... 24 hours - coctails.alkohol - free Beach volley.pool volley.zumba.wonderful view 2 steps from pool to see In the evening you have choose of 5 restorans...
Review 42:The 30 min rain showers lol ruined a buffet out doors.
Review 43:Everything is beyond great. Location is peaceful, customer service is mastered at Now Jade. Food is super delicious.
Review 44:- architecture of hotel is drab and boring, the "city" area is particularly ugly - main pool was very packed our whole visit, we were never able to sit by the pool - hotel was overbooked, four weddings a day, it was a zoo - not all that relaxing - but great if you are there to party! More pros than cons - it was a good vacation.
Review 45:This resort is very good value for the money. I agree that it falls firmly in the 4 out of 5 stars class of resort. Within this class I say it shines for food and service. - service is very good, in the restaurants in particular. We had an infant and the servers made sure our orders came out quickly. - food at dinners was very good. we ate at the Italian restaurant twice and the french restaurant. - view from ocean front room in building 7 is spectacular - adult only pool in preferred section is where you want to be for relaxation - there was a sufficient number spaces on the beach in the shade Recommendations: 1. Upgrade to the Preferred section if possible 2. Eating before 7 PM avoids the wait times at restaurants 3. Reserve lounges by the main pool early in the morning Enjoy!
Review 46:I didn't like having to reserve a seat by the pool. Arriving at 10am all chairs had towels to reserve but often people didn't show. We got seating if we asked however.
Review 47:I thought that the facilities were amazing and was very impressed with the size or our room and jacuzzi in our room. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The food was good as well.
Review 48:The roomi did not have all the things that were announced by booking. The food was bad and the service in restaurants was bad. Room service was limited to very few options. I would never recomend the hotel.
Review 49:Nothing
Review 50:No major complaints, just the maid service was spotty sometimes.
Review 51:The entertainment staff worked hard and was awesome. They tried to make your stay as fun as possible.
Review 52:Beach rocky and lots of seaweed. Drinks seemed watered down and some did not taste as expected. I would rather have a regular shot of liquor that tasted as manufactured than tgree shots of a watered down shot in my drink. Although the I Stayed in 4 resorts in Mexico all inclusive this trip and this chain.-Now sapphire and now jade had the liquor that tasted the closest to the real thing.
Review 53:Food and service was great. Rooms awesome.
Review 54:The beach is not great. There are rocks at the shoreline that make it difficult to enjoy the water. Seaweed was a problem, but the resort worked hard to keep it clean. My wife and I enjoyed just hanging out on the beach under thatch umbrella with a nice breeze blowing through. So the beach can still be enjoyable.
Review 55:The staff is great! The resort is beautiful! The rooms are awesome! The food is good with a lot of options. There are five themed restaurants and we enjoyed them all. There is an adult pool, so if you want peace and quiet, you need to upgrade to preferred club. It's worth it. The main pool is fun with activities going on all day long. It's a fun atmosphere.
Review 56:The spacious gym floor needs a good cleaning and better yoga options.
Review 57:Superior service and not an extra dime, or attitude, for any special requests! Lots of smiles and assistance from the abundant staff.
Review 58:Would like to see more hammocks available in the main area. Those in the preferred section were kind of hidden and hard to get to. I felt like the web site was lacking in information and hard to navigate. Showed lots of pictures but not much information about restaurants and activities
Review 59:I liked the no wrist bands Lots of beach towels available No reservations required for dinner Super bowl party was excellent The availability of Aqua World dive shop at the resort made it easy to schedule dives. Enjoyed the parasailing also
Review 60:Food quality was poor. Dirty beach strip which wasn't cleaned by staff. Not the friendliest hotel personnel (except concierge). Location too far off of everything.
Review 61:Room was spacious and clean.
Review 62:Everything else. Horrible food (a la carte was just OK). Terrible rocky beach that was unswimmable. Timeshare sales pitches. Tacky Christmas decorations EVERYWHERE also killed the mood for us. The rooms were far from soundproof. Ridiculously-priced spa. Oh...and the ice cream machine was out of order the entire time :-(
Review 63:The rooms were very nice. Spacious and comfy with two person jacuzzi tub. Most of the staff were very friendly and efficient.
Review 64:- staff was insistent on selling some time-share options - the beach can be cleaner
Review 65:- not overcrowded (in early December) - decent entertainment and food options - good local snorkeling and diving options - close proximity to the Cancun airport (25 min drive) - a small authentic town nearby
Review 66:Room was dated Beds were twin & NOT King Jacuzzi needed upgrade - dirty A/C soaked the room & needed servicing while we were there. Check in was 3 hours later than we expected!
Review 67:Preferred Guest Bathroom Service Dinner restaurants Bars Pools
Review 68:the approach of the receptionist (preferred club) upon arrival -->in a hurry, wanted to be over with it ASAP the room service taking more than an hour (despite the claimed 35 minutes) and an additional 25 minutes since I doublechecked over phone and was told they are on their way already (must have been a bad day really, as when they finally brought it, the glas of wine was so hot it made the white wine a warm drink; then it continued in the morning when they brought tea made in a pot used for coffee - i.e. the tea tasted like coffee..etc...) the wake-up call at 8:30 in the morning after I arrived (wasn´t a wake-up call really, they just wanted to ask if everything was alright) the general hygiene, whether it was the room (whirlpool on the terrace with sea view, yes, but looked really dirty and uninviting; used and many times rewashed slippers (those that are normally single-use in hotels), insects in the room - on table, on night table, etc... ), the food (especially in the big breakfast & lunch areas), the drinks (e.g. at the pool bar)...
Review 69:the place the view the service (especially in the preferred lounge and in the French restaurant) the beach the sea the fact that they had adult only pool & sections
Review 70:The staff, drinks and food were all great! We had a great week and hated leaving. We will be returning soon!
Review 71:Room was a little dirty the hot tub looked dirty .
Review 72:The staff was amazing .
Review 73:The ocean was not clean at that location
Review 74:Great staff, nice entartainment and night events!
Review 75:Beach and seaweed
Review 76:Staff
Review 77:The beach was horrible. It smelled really bad and there was so much seaweed that no one was in the water.
Review 78:Friendly staff and entertainment team
Review 79:Misunderstood about payment
Review 80:Food was very good!
Review 81:Over crowded pools, no cool-jetted tubs, and you had to pay to relax in a canopy bed by the pool.
Review 82:Very nice resort, restaurants and valuable for money
Review 83:There wasnt a thing i didnt like. Its was awesome
Review 84:I loved every aspect of being there especialy the restaurants 5 star all the way
Review 85:The wifi needs improvement, only free for one device and this isn't sufficient in these times!
Review 86:Everything
Review 87:1. The hotel is some distance from all the Cancun action, so you will need to use taxis to get anywhere. Cancun and Playa del Carmen, where all the night life is, are both about 40 mins away. 2. The spa is completely over priced! We were keen to get massages but didn't bother in the end. 3. Also be sure to request what currency payment is made in. The hotel gave prices for everything in USD, but while we were there they couldn't except USD, but only Peso. Same with shops In the surrounding areas. In doing so you always came off the worse with the exchange rate! Having said all this, it was a great holiday!
Review 88:Excellent friendly staff, most of which spoke reasonable English. There was a good choice of bars and restaurants, which was made all the better as this is an all inclusive resort! The view of the ocean is great, it's worth requesting an ocean front room as opposed to the ocean view room. The ocean view rooms only give a partial view, some from a distance! The pools are great. There is a quiet adult pool in the Preferred area and other pools on the other side where all the activities happen!
Review 89:Cleanliness. This place was pretty nasty. It didn't look like they were cleaning the glasses. The food was OK, but at least 4 people on our trip were down and out with stomach issues.
Review 90:The staff was very friendly.
Review 91:Not much to say...something very minor1) more opportunity to get dollar bills for a $20 bill 2) more wastebaskets in rooms
Review 92:Excellent all-inclusive with well trained and attentive staff Weddingplanners were efficient and easy to work with
Review 93:We traveled with a large group and would have to wait 1 to 2 1/2hours each evening to get a table in the restaurants. Rather thanwaiting, I would have preferred to eat in the buffet but the buffetwasn't always open in the evenings. The room service food was prettybad for dinner but we could order drinks (including water) from roomservice which was nice. Several times I had trouble getting a bottle ofwater. A waiter in the Italian restaurant told me they were out andwould have to go to another building to get more so requested I share myfriend's water. I started carrying around water from the mini bar inmy room after that. The gift shop was very pricey - it cost around $30for suntan lotion so bring a lot of sunscreen from home and if you wantto shop, go to the nearby town. Also take single dollars for tippingbecause it can be hard to get change for a larger bill.
Review 94:We loved the infinity pool - it's close to the ocean and the viewwas amazing. And we had the best service of the trip at the pool -Elvarro was amazing. We also spent a lot of time in the ocean and lovedit. You can kayak for free which is fun. Our room was very nice - wedidn't upgrade to a great view but spent very little time in ourrooms. The food at the restaurants and the buffet was always very good. For breakfast, they must have 100 items to choose from and they make agreat omelette. (I'm sure I gained some extra weight due to thedelicious food.) We were there for a wedding, which was very beautifuland well done. The photographer took beautiful pictures.
Review 95:We went to the Italian restaurant one evening. The meal was sub-parcompared to other food we had as was the service. The waiters seemed tonot care which really surprised us.
Review 96:The staff was very accommodating and very much wanting to please. Forthe most part the food was great. Our room was beautiful.
Review 97:Not a great place for singles, no free internet or decent telecommunications if you have to contact bank when your credit card gets blocked like mine did, lucky I had car and could drive to Puerto Muerlos to internet cafe and use their skype, it would have been $3 a minute to use hotel operator to sit on hold with bank, real hassle checking in when this happens. My advice prepay to avoid this embarrassment. I have learned to expect these kind of problems when travelling in Mexico along with the fact that we both get severe travelers diarrhea every time we come to Mexico no matter where we stay or how many shots or pills we take, this resort is no exception for us. My wife fell down and sprained her ankle in the Asian restaurant and thus put a real damper on our second week in Mexico. Beware of many safety hazards such as poorly lit areas and sudden steps without caution signs or any warnings, narrow treads etc, that in Canadian or American public places or workplaces would be outlawed. I know this as fact as I work in such environments and safety is drilled into you every morning prior to starting work. The yellow caution sign went up after she fell on the floor. This accident ruined the rest of our trip and hopefully my wife will not miss any work because of it.
Review 98:nice jetted tub in bathroom, gourmet dining, strong drinks - not watered down, real cups and glasses, nice pastry and coffee shop, lovely beach and area to walk, Not a whole lot to complain about, really first class wedding organization.
Review 99:the photos on the internet do not truley reflect the hotel. The rooms are no longer shiney and new. They are now worn and dirty. The food was terrible. The beach is very small and lots of sea weed. The building site next door!!! The loud drunk guests running down the corriders in the night. We only stayed for 3 nights so we kept quiet, but if we had booked for longer i would have been demanding a refund. Not good Now Jade!
Review 100:the coffee shop, good coffee, great orange cake!
Review 101:Service quality and hospitality of certain staffs were overtly different between club membership and normal visitors... In French restaurant even if there are all-inclusive they suggested bottle of wines or sparklingwines with additional fees. We don't choose and drunk a free glass wine, then restaurant staff and boy's attitude suddenly changed...no serving bread, knives and forks were put without care.. Beef fillet was nightmare, hard to bite by the way. Foods overall ware so so... Not bad but I was not satisfied. Unlimited vacation club co. sales guys and related staffs to membership business were so vicious and irresponsible...horrible. time share concept is good for me but feeling like they truly damage their brand and reputation by themselves... I will never come back to this hotel and don't recommend to anyone as well. There are many worthy hotels you can choose in this area cancun.
Review 102:97% of the hotel staffs were very kind and comfortable to stay but services of a few staffs were "critically" bad and rude when we had a contact and this made our overall experience worse.. Pool was good. Not luxury but worth to pay. We enjoyed stay.
Review 103:Lack of internet big black mark
Review 104:Food, rooms and just about everything
Review 105:We loved the resort, everything about it! All the staff was amazing & the food was superb.
