Reviews for Casa Pinha

Review 1:The road is rough enough to persuade you that it is the wrong road.

Review 2:The view of the bay is awesome. The rooms are simple, clean and functional. The staff were very friendly and speak good English. It is quiet as it is very remote.

Review 3:Not easy to find with GPS. Very cold water in swimmingpool. ;-)

Review 4:Fantastic panorama (seaview). Super restaurant (best in our 10 day trip!). Friendly host. Very quiet. Fresh and clean mountain air.

Review 5:It's an estonishing place. Instead of staying in the center of Figueira, prefer this remote hotel in the middle of pine wood in the nearby village. It offers the best possible view on the ocean, the beach and the city of Figueira. The rooms are cosy and well-equipped, and during the summer time you can use the swimming-pool.

Review 6:The beds were just ok. Lots of steps and slopes.

Review 7:The rooms were comfortable and warm. The staff were very friendly. The food was to a high standard. The facilities looked good though we didn't use them i.e. pool, terraces etc.

Review 8:No hair dryer. Road with gps could be difficult. Among the gps options pick up furthest, biggest road, don't go just up to the mountain.

Review 9:Ocean view, pool, forest, air conditioning, cozy beds.

Review 10:As we went in winter, the room was cold (and especially the very big bathroom).

Review 11:The view is amazing, and a swimming pool overlooking the city is available in summer. We had breakfast with view as well, which is very nice.

Review 12:The fact it was too chilly to use the pool :) (my fault). Need to upgrade the TV's (very old models and intermittent functions)

Review 13:Loved the location, overlooking Figueira da Foz. Peaceful and quiet. Property and amenities fantastic and our host- "Ricardo" was most gracious and accomodating. No need to eat off property. The restaurant is awesome!

Review 14:On rooms equipment and interior comfort much to work remains still; very poor connecting road.

Review 15:Magnificent view at the bay; open and friendly staff; stylish arranged ground.

Review 16:Nothing to dislike.

Review 17:The beautiful view of the coast from a quiet hilltop location. A really romantic setting. Excellent hotel restaurant with beautiful panoramic view of the sea and town. Outside swimming pool and donkeys in stable. Definitely recommend staying here.

Review 18:The moisture room in a backrow of the cottages.

Review 19:The view once out of the clouds; The location in the nature and the Pool, the donkeys and the pleasant service by the staff.

Review 42:Staff very friendly and went out of their way to help.

Review 43:Amazing view and a very small and cozy hotel with only 10 rooms, a very good restaurant and an amazing view.

Review 44:rooms were very humid and not very confortable.

Review 45:the view, fantastic

Review 46:Hard to find even a constructive criticism, but I suppose I would have liked more local information, tips from previous guests perhaps.

Review 47:Great location. The view is fantastic and the natural park surrounding it is wonderful and could easily be missed. The hotel is very tranquil and the resident donkeys just add to the therapeutic feel. We really couldn't find fault.

Review 48:The weather. But of course, it is not the Casa Pinha's fault, but as the place is rather high on the hill, there was a very misty day and in May it was wet and cold outside. Anyway, everywhere inside the Casa it was dry and warm. But don't forget to take warm clothes just in case.

Review 49:Very nice and friendly personnel, nice view of the city below, breakfast are good and meal in the restaurant in the evening was perfect. Swimming pool and donkeys!! Also we liked the flags of different countries on the parking. We parked our car under our country's flag :)

Review 50:The hotel is situated high in the hills with a breathtaking view. The rooms are adequate and clean with plenty of hot water. The breakfast and staff were great however English is not exactly a second language. French and Portuguese are spoken. Our hosts were very helpful and we managed to convey our few needs easily. A little hard to find even though there were blue signs leading us upward and onward to the "Casa Pinha", it is a long way up to the hotel, don't give up the signs will get you there!

Review 51:Depends on what you look for: the view is really beautiful, also from terrace of the restaurant. It is remote from city itself, but it is a great asylum. Staff is perfect.

Review 52:Instead of having the room number 4, they could have given us any room between 6 and 10, which better view and access to the outside area hotel. We were the only family in the hotel.

Review 53:The view of the hotel is amasing. Evertything was good, room, bathroom and very good breakfast as well with fruits and cakes, for the price we have paid, it was very well served.

Review 54:i have complaint only for my GPS because he can't find a location.

Review 55:wonderfull and friendly owners ( wife and husbandt) . very good black wine in offer. people from local caffee help us to find a casa pihna. it's amazing !

Review 56:Difficult to find. One waiter was excellent, another not so helpful.

Review 57:The view was magnificent. The ease of getting luggage to and from the room was great

Review 58:I liked everything about this hotel. Since it is located in the mountains the view is very beautiful. It is very peaceful, calm and cozy. Staff is very friendly and carrying. The breakfast was also good. Even though there is not a lot of things to do but it's a perfect place for a good and quality rest.

Review 59:The hilltop/side location gave us a breathtaking view to the seaside. It is located next to a natural park, which makes it very calm, silent, relaxing and beautiful. The triple-room was clean and neat. The staff was friendly and nice. House-food was excellent, breakfast overlooking Figueira da Foz in sunshine – definitely a double plus. Parking on site. To find the place just follow the small signs. Would definitely recommend it!

Review 60:The city is far away, if you go into town you have to have a car. Hotel has a pool that charges 5 eu for swimming if you do not pay for dinner at the hotel. That I have not seen anywhere else. Payment is upon arrival before you see the room.

Review 61:have a nice view of the beach, good breakfast

Review 62:The town of Figuera da Foz was not appealing to us.

Review 63:Wonderful little hotel. Fantastic location, delightful staff, imaginative menus. Terrific value for money. We would return with no hesitation.

Review 64:the room for 4 was a bit small. its a room for 2 with 2 extra beds.

Review 65:extremely friendly owner and staff. very nice location with a great view and a big pool.

Review 66:Difficulty in finding it, bedrooms very basic and old fashioned with hot water heater in the bathroom; nowhere to go inside if weather was bad.

Review 67:fabulous view of Figueira de Foz beach, nice swmming pool, fridge in bedroom, nice food.

Review 68:Casa Pinha was the most unpleasant and inappropriate accommodation foundthrough Booking.com – As a matter of fact I wonder how it was possibleto assign 3 stars to that place, lacking most the usual amenitiesprovided by hotels recommended by Booking.com. Even breakfast was notserved before 10:00 A.M.! Once there we were very much tempted to leave(notwithstanding the fact that the reservation was not refundable) butwe were so tired to look after another place that we decided to stay. Itwas much (much) below the standard of Booking.com and we very muchadvice you to check! No comparison with the other possibilities offeredby Booking.com in Figueira da Foz (as we found out the next day onleaving). A pity indeed.

Review 69:The view of the Altantic was indeed beautiful

Review 70:Receptionist didn`t speak, understand english. A woman (cook) from akitchen was asked to take a dinner order.

Review 71:Very nice view. It was not so easy to find the hotel despite the factthat there were small directions toward it. Possibility to heat aroom and bath

Review 72:The owner and everybody on the staff were more than friendly. We felt welcomed. The food is excellent and the view of the ocean is magnificent! The rooms were clean and comfortable and access to free Internet was appreciated. We felt at home and even extended our stay.

Review 73:The room was basic and clean. It was a long drive up a hill to get to it but at the top were nice views. There were donkeys to see and an outdoor pool. It is somewhat inconvenient for the town but if you wanted nice views and swimming away from it all it might be good for that.

Review 74:the dinner was good... but could be better.

Review 75:the view was amazing and we loved the forest and the donkeys

Review 76:Great view

Review 77:Nothing

Review 78:The scenery was breathtaking! Would be a great place to stay in the summer months

Review 79:Had difficulty finding this location.Very narrow winding road.

Review 87:No english menu or english translation available.

Review 88:Very nice pool and restaurant, with friendly staff.
