Reviews for Chateau GrandCastle
Review 1:We enjoyed our stay in the Chateau, it is very charming place. Everything we needed at one place - tasty food served in nice restaurant, room was clean with stylish furniture so we could feel the historic atmosphere. Staff was very nice, always ready to help and to give the necessary information. We loved the relaxing sauna and lounge. Looking forward to come with friends again and enjoy the atmosphere of the Wine cellar which is really unique! I will highly recommend this hotel to everyone who is looking to have nice time in Slovakia with easy access to all places - mountains and sights.
Review 2:The reception was closed before 9 o'clock (why does a Hotel reception close at all??) which meant we arrived to a completely dark and shut up place at 8:30pm We had no hot water the first night, the internet didn't work and none of the "night service" telephone numbers worked. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is "typically eastern european". These issues were fixed the next day with not a single "sorry" being said - they left a bottle of red wine as an apology in our room, but it wasn't a great start at all
Review 3:The building itself and the rooms are amazing. You are literally staying in a medieval castle that has been done up very tastefully. The food and service in the restaurant (when it was open...) was actually very good.
Review 4:It is a historical style hotel, old in a good way. You can visit the castle while staying. Tours are available. The only down side maybe the breakfast. But it is still much better than the US continental standard.
Review 5:They forgot to clean our room the first day. Not a big deal!
Review 6:Everything was very good.
Review 7:The atmosphere at the castle is unique. It is beautifully presented. The staff are welcoming and we had a very enjoyable stay.
Review 8:They forgot to clean our rooms. Not a big deal but I expected more.
Review 9:Nice castle and large rooms.
Review 10:Wonderful old castle!!! 고성에서의 하루 밤. 좋았어요... 적극 추천...
Review 11:tap beer:-)
Review 12:tremendous spirit atmosphere, details of renovation, rooms, indoor related space, outdoor, the way you connected the old with recent
Review 13:Staying in the old Renaissance manor house was a unique experience. Excellent restaurant. The Caves about 20 km away are worth a visit.
Review 14:A special place! you live in a castle one of the uniqe hotels i have been in STAFF
Review 15:Old furniture (not only old-style), old bed - discomfort!! The heating in the bathroom was not working.
Review 16:Great food, nice historic location. Excellent for leasure and relax. Good WiFi.
Review 17:We so enjoyed the sense of history and antiquity. Here we are in the 21st century enjoying the creations of those going back half a millennium. The museum touches of art, furnishings, table settings and even the reconstruction added to the experience. The staff were gracious and the spa was inviting.
Review 18:The staff is not always present in the reception. The rooms are not well isolated, you can hear everything from the other rooms
Review 19:Beautiful hotel, huge rooms
Review 20:The amenities provided were not at par with the great recent renovation. Finding toilet paper of the very cheapest sort at such a fancy, 4-star hotel was quite jarring, for example. Further, it seemed that insufficient staff are employed: the night we were there, the owner and Yanni appeared to have the place to themselfes, so far as staffing was concerned. Despite the great efforts and affability of both, more staff was clearly needed.
Review 21:The authentic design, the views and the amazing surroundings. The romantic ambience is unbeatable. Breakfast was great, as was the service provided by Yanni, the waiter-cum-receptionist-cum-concierge. You could spend a whole day just appreciating the hotel
Review 22:The receptionist (a girl) when we arrived was not over friendly and only explained to us the parking situation when I asked what the keys were used for. She didn't tell us when breakfast was or how we could use the pool. The waiter in the restaurant was very surly and quite argumentative. The decor in our room was OK, but the beds in our room were not very sturdy, there was no shower gel in the bathroom and although there were 2 cups and 2 saucers, there were no tea or coffee making facilities. For the price we paid, I would have expected those facilities to be there.
Review 23:My friend, Sonia, whose husband Martin Sloboda owns a travel agent's recommended your hotel to me and often stays at your hotel. I liked the location and setting, the old ruin, the decor and the very friendly receptionist Yoeri or George as we called him. He gave us lots of tips of where we could go for lovely walks in the High Tatras. The food in the restaurant was lovely.
Review 24:Very cool hotel, rooms are MASSIVE. Lovely staff and great restaurant.
Review 25:The beautiful castle and the peaceful and quiet surroundings. The room was very spacious and just great except for the shower..
Review 26:slow check-out
Review 27:Something extraordinary in the middle of Europe- old medieval furniture, silence, excellent food, fair price, fantastic ......
