Reviews for Kusatsu Onsen Boun
Review 1:Size of the hotel was quite big, lack of the family operated ryokan in the establishment.
Review 2:Varieties of onsen water was nice. Dinner full of varieties, we couldn't finished what was served.
Review 3:Service and facilities, especially the onsen, were impeccable. Room was spacious, very clean, neat and well laid out. While dinner could do with more meat, it was nevertheless well presented and good.
Review 4:None
Review 5:Hotel staff really nice and polite, you can feel they use their heart to serve their guests. Hotel & Onsen is clean and comfortable. Very enjoyable stay!
Review 6:Just wished it was nearer to Tokyo so I can visit more often ! Nothing that I did not like !
Review 7:We had the breakfast and dinner included ! It was excellent for all the meals !
Review 8:Because japan don't allow tattoo's guy to hot spring, so I cant try out the outside pools. I only can enjoy the small pool in my room. And a bit expensive.
Review 9:My adult daughter was disappointed that a clipon bow was the only style available for the obi. (She is a self proclaimed kimono snob.) I have no complaints.
Review 10:Lovely ryokan and friendly staff. While a lovely yakata is provided, for 500 yen, you can select your own yakata to wear around the resort and the town. Food was delicious and the Japanese style room was spacious for the five of us. Owner (in lovely kimono) greeted us at our departure and posed with us for photos. Nice gift shop. Great service.
Review 11:Nothing.
Review 12:The room was spacious and very clean. The ryokan is huge with a very interesting layout. The three public baths can be used by all with hot water from two different sources.
Review 13:Hurry up for dinner time, service guy always push you to finish yr dinner on time..., it is too rush for dinner
Review 14:Very good condition of sharing living room for rest and relaxing
Review 15:The service here was just impeccable. The staff were waiting for us with our reservation info the moment we arrived and quickly got us checked in. They then proceeded to serve us snack and tea and always called to remind us of our mealtime. They also explained the bus/train schedule to make sure we catch the right bus and drove us to the bus station when we left. The onsen facilities were clean and spacious. I always saw a lady flitting in and out to keep the area clean. There are three facilities, each with both indoor and outdoor bath, so make sure you don't miss the slidind doors leading to the outdoor pool. We traveled in a large group of 6 adults and were served dinner in a private dining room. The traditional dinner was probably our best meal in Japan. We were served sukiyaki along with a number of other dishes, the most memorable being fugu tempura which we almost didn't believe our kanji reading ability and had to ask our server to confirm. All in all, it wasn't cheap, but it was worth every penny we paid.
Review 16:N/A
Review 17:This hotel is in such a perfect location. The dinner and breakfast were excellent. They also provided shuttle bus from bus terminal to hotel upon request.
Review 18:Everything was perfect. From the very entrance, checkin, tour around the premises, facilities, amenities & the fantastic food! I was told by other friends' experiences with sleeping in futons on tatami could be uncomfortable but the futon beds at Boun was soo comfortable & cosy, we slept very soundly! This place is a dream!!!
Review 19:It will be perfect if Kashifuro is available but given that the hotel has been built for years, this is practically something which could not be done in a short time.
Review 20:We have been picked up from the bus terminal. The check in process is smooth. The hotel has made a minor mistake in taking us to a room which is under another customer with a similar name to us. Anyway, the hotel has made the correction almost immediately and have taken us to the room under our name. The onsen is good and the food is excellent. The location of the hotel is convenient for us to visit the Saigawara Park and the Yubatake within walking distance. The next day morning, the hotel has also driven us to the bus terminal. The overall experience is excellent.
Review 21:They have three onsen bathrooms, two of which are open for men in the afternoon and night and one which is open for women at the same time. In the morning they switch.
Review 22:Staff was very polite and helpful in everything eg planning trips etc. but also helped with questions such as "how to wear my yukata" in a friendly manner. I think it helped that I speak Japanese quite fluently though. Still, I saw the staff helping out other guest in English as well.
Review 23:1. Too early for check out . Check out time is at 1000 which is too early for urbanite. The staff did not tell me the check out in advance when I arrived the hotel. Finally, I had to pay extra cost for late check out. 2. The hotel is surrounded by many hotels around making it no views to see. 3. The food is average. Many variety but no specialty or signaure dishes you may reacalled after the dinner. Just like those standard Japanese set dinner which may found in many restaurants in Japan.
Review 24:The staff is helpful. They took my luggages from my car to my room and also hlep me to park my car.
Review 25:- Kusatsu onsen town is having some renovations in its sightseeign spots until spring 2015. So if you want to see yumomi (traditional performance of cooling the water) in the town - better to schedule the trip for later period. Though it is still one of the best places in Japan to experience onsen (hot spring).
Review 26:- Great staff - helpful and friendly (even offered us towels if we want to visit town bath after check-out) - Perfect bath. 3 different baths (gender rotation by time), each has its rotenburo (open air bath). - Really tasty food (not to say its lots of various dishes) - Hotel and room is clean and nice
Review 27:* The 6 hot springs actually refers to only 3 locations, where indoor and outdoor is counted as 2 separate pools. And because these baths are interchanged at different times between men and women, you may at some time slots be allowed only 1 location from 2pm to 2am, and other 2 locations only available in the morning from 5am till 10am only. * No good view from the window, facing a carpark
Review 28:* Mixture of Indoor and Outdoor Hot Springs. * Nice tiny garden feature for pictures *Wonderful dinner spread with Sukiyaki and sashimi included in the dinner (had booked Half board).
Review 29:- Hotel is located on hillside which you need to climb the high slops
Review 30:- Clean - Decoration Super Nice - Stuff Very Polite - Room Very Spacious - Private Onsen available - Food Delicious and Fresh
