Reviews for Leesha Tourist Home
Review 1:Nothing.
Review 2:We liked everything at this great guest house, close to everything, very clean, hot water, good meals and fantastic people. The owner, Upali, the best host ever, very generous and kind. We loved it here.
Review 3:Stayed at Leesha's a few weeks ago and have never felt more welcomed and looked after. The owner came to welcome us himself even though he was out when we arrived, he drove his scooter to see if he could find us to check what time we wanted dinner, when we asked if he had any fruit juices he went out to buy a watermelon just to make it for us and when a friend joined us one evening for dinner he kindly gave her a lift back to her hostel on his scooter to save her the walk. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and the rooms were clean, a decent size and comfortable. In a good location to hire bikes and to cycle to all the ruins and organised transport to get us to the bus station AND helped us book another decent guesthouse in our next destination. Would recommend!
Review 4:- building site in the hostel- but it's temporary situation
Review 5:- good location - breakfest !!! one of the best included in price on the way - warm rotis, plenty fresh exotic fruits :) - great quality-price equivalent -bike rental
Review 6:construction going on: should be finished by August
Review 7:very helpfull owner good advice on excursions and visit of old city good advice on taxi transport to next place very nice meals and beer available
Review 8:We had a great stay in Leesha. It was a short (10 min) walk/cycle ride to the main street in Polonnaruwa. Although Leesha was on the main road, once in the room we weren't bothered by the traffic noise. The rooms were basic but spotlessly clean and everything (ac/fan/shower) worked well. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. He helped us to organise tours around the ruins in Polonnaruwa and tuks tuks when we needed them. He had drinks and beers available to buy and provided lovely fruit and toast at breakfast.
Review 9:Overall this place was amazing, great room, great food and lovely and helpful owner... They cooked us amazing curry and rice for both nights and lovely tradional Sri Lanka breakfast!!! We hired bikes for the whole day for only 300 ruppees and then he met us in town to show us where to buy tickets... He also organised and book our accomdation for our next stop!! We really enjoyed our time here and felt very welcome could not ask for more...
Review 10:We've been very lucky to see our room upgraded to a cottage. With spacious rooms, living room and dining room, which was very handy for our family of 5. The location of the cottage was slightly remote, but we just had to request for a driver to take us to the temples or to a safari, and this was efficiently taken care of. Also the food was great: probably one of the best meal we had in Sri Lanka, prepared on firewood, with a beautiful view on the rice fields. The owner's brother was also very helpful. We would definitely recommend this place!
Review 11:Only one small suggestion: a small table or small shelf on the left side of the bed for your belongings. Maybe put something on the wall to make things a little more cozy. But it's just a suggestion, the room is already really nice. Keep continuing being sincere and honest like you are now and people will keep you visiting you.
Review 12:Lovely young host, made us feel very welcome. Mama cooked for us and she did a great job. The place is a little bit isolated, but we liked it. Rooms are clean. Breakfast is really good. We went to Sigirya early and had breakfast afterwards, which was a nice solution.
Review 13:Rooms without AC are very hot, host is a little too eager to make business (still very friendly though)
Review 14:Very nice rooms, host was very attentive, dedicated and friendly, very good dinner and breakfast
Review 15:Definitely focused on business. We got a room at the owner's sister house as apparently our reservation didn't show up. However it seems they are doing overbooking and then fit people in the family house. Less comfortable and still high price for Sri Lankan standards. Breakfast was finally not included, but previously reserved (basically fruits and toasts..) Bikes more expensive then shop on the street.
Review 16:Practical as not far from the entrance/ticket counter for Polonnaruwa ruins. You can rent bikes for the day. Friendly owner.
Review 17:The direct surroundings of the tourist home are very basic, but de buildings are well mantained. Some rooms are very close to the road
Review 18:Friendly helpful owner, excellent food, good atmosfere, good Price/Quality, perfect place to sleep
Review 19:These treehouses are adorable and so much fun to stay in. The owner made every effort to ensure we were comfortable and organised taxi rides into Siguriya for us, as well as a BBQ one night.
Review 20:How I wish I hadn't given laundry to be done! A perfectly good pair of trousers has been ruined, washed in the canal with a rock, and now worn and faded on one leg and a hole in the other. A very expensive and upsetting mistake as I am very tall and can only buy trousers and long skirts from a specialist shop. Upset because it seems common sense that if you rub fabric with a rock you will damage it.
Review 21:The owner was very helpful, arranging a safari to Mineriya for us, and providing good bikes for us to rent the following day to tour the temple sites.
Review 22:The place is run by a very diligent and helpful family. I fell from bicycle during the heritage area tour. As soon as the owner received the call, they came to me immediately, and took me to the hospital. He seems to know everyone in that place, therefore, makes travellors' life a lot more easier and comfortable. He has strong sense of responsibility and humor as well! Dishes are of great value! Miss that place.
Review 23:Enjoyed very reasonably priced food. Our friends from overseas liked the place. The review is their experience as I could not go due to illness. The price for 2 rooms with breakfast was a bargain!
Review 24:The room was a little musty smelling.
Review 25:Excellent kitchen - absolutely fantastic dinner (and also breakfast). Very friendly owner - he gave us good tips what we should visit and he ensured taxi for us. Airconditioned rooms. Hot water. Good wi-fi connection. Close to historical city.
Review 26:Mr. Leesha is a nice guy, but please don't believe him. He took us to an elephant ride to Habarana, where we paid 110 usd for 4 persons. He also took us to a wood carver, where everything is in the extreme expensive category. We checked the elephant ride in Sigiriya, it was 1200 LKR per person, which is less than half of Mr. leesha price. Guy is nice, but will cheat you.
Review 27:Food was good, room was OK.
Review 28:not so close to the city, about 10-15 minutes walk
Review 29:Very nice, well organized and warm-hearted personel, always wish to help Bicycles for rent, very good Nice breakfast and dinner Moskito nets very usefull

Review 31:I liked how the owner was at the bus terminal to pick me up without even asking. I also enjoyed the home cooked meals at such a very fair price. The staff goes out of their way for you. Room was very basic, but it had hot water and WiFi
Review 32:The host picked me up at the bus station without me having asked for it. I was provided with a huge clean room, tasty home cooked dinner (veg rice and curry) and breakfast (loads of fresh fruit, bread and Sri Lankan coffee). Also, I rented a bike cheaply (300 Rs) from Leesha and was given easy instructions to visit the archaeological sites. The host was really friendly and helpful!
Review 33:I had the cheapest room, and it was very basic, but certainly OK. There were a lot of bugs about outside (as you'd expect) but the room was surprisingly bug-free.
Review 34:The owner was extremely helpful without being at all pushy, and extremely fair. The staff were friendly, and the cook superb. The included breakfast was excellent, and the dinners even better - the best food I've had in Sri Lanka. Hot shower, good internet. My favorite guest house in SL.
Review 35:They say the bikes are free of charge, but then they charge you on the bill.. activities are quite expensive.
Review 36:Comfortable and nice, with very good restaurant and kind staff. They also organize activities for you such as safari tours..
Review 37:we stayed 2nights,the using of the bicycle was free in the first afternoon we arrived but the second all day we used is charged.
Review 38:value for money, the price including the breakfast which is good. you can see many bats, colorful birds, even not small lizard and very nice view around here
Review 39:If other people are showering the water pressure can be very low but that's really it and I'm having to be very picky!
Review 40:Lovely clean comfortable rooms, if a little basic but still brilliant for the price! Amazing food at both dinner and breakfast. Lovely owner whose willing to help with anything you need.
