Reviews for Il Chiostro
Review 1:Bathroom a bit cramped. Parking a lottery. Walls very thin, could hear everything in adjoining rooms.
Review 2:Great location, lovely view over the cloister and to the church.(and unfortunately a derelict building) Extremely helpful staff.
Review 3:I put a request for parking - it was an option during booking, but no place were available.
Review 4:wonderful place, very good decorating, with its own history breath. Great for staying. Excellent restaurant.
Review 5:The hotel's parking was very limited and it was a struggle to find alternative parking close by.
Review 6:The old part of the building was fascinating. It is an easy walk into the town. Breakfast was excellent.
Review 7:Everything very positive. Perfect value for money. Oasis in the centre of Verbania. Breakfast buffet where you get much more than in a standard Italian hotel.
Review 8:It's a bit far from city center, you have to change one metro line to the other. Besides, a 10 min walk is needed to reach metro. But since the hotel is very comfortable, walking was not a big issue for us.
Review 9:Room was quite cozy and spacy. We needed a baby cot and it was ready before we arrived to the hotel. Personnel was quite friendly and helpful, they tried to make us feel comfortable. Breakfast was very rich. Hotel has a very good architecture and it's a pleasure to make a breakfast in here. We had a car and parking is no problem, they have an open and a closed parking space.
Review 10:Unhelpful staff, one person in particular. I asked for a pack and play or crib for my 10 month old daughter and was told I'd receive it but had to come back and ask again. This desk clerk was not willing to help in other ways too, advice, etc. Wifi was not very good and nearly everytime you connected you had to get a new password. The key card on the door was broken and we had to use a key instead. Very small staff.
Review 11:Location in center of town. Quiet Included Breakfast was excellent with full menu. The hotel is located off the main road which made it hard to find but There are signs to guide you.
Review 12:Because of closure of San Gottardo tunnel, we arrived just before midnight and found everything shut down with only a night porter to admit us. Other hotels might at least have opened the bar. The hotel gives the impression that parking may be no problem, but in fact the number of parking places is limited and those are on a public road outside the hotel. The hotel feels more like a hostel than a hotel.
Review 13:The room and breakfast are adequate.
Review 14:Great location and excellent pricing.
Review 15:Very loud senior citizen tourist group - quiet hours were supposed tostart after 10:00 - they were still dancing to dj music at 10:20 - wentdown to front desk and they said they were sorry but the it was thegroups last night?! Wife finally went down around 11:00 and had to makea scene to get staff to act on shutting down the party. We paid for ahotel to get rest and be able to sleep. We have traveled all over Europeand this was the worst. Wi-Fi was very slow and limited to one device.
Review 16:It was an excellent price and they did not charge for changing date ofreservations. Able to store bags during the day after check out.
Review 17:Staff is helpful, but not really friendly, maybe because of their inadequate language skills. Bathroom is very narrow. The hotel serves dinner, four copious courses for only 12 euros, but the food is very fat and simple. The hotel has as a target group mosly elderly german travel groups, maybe they like this kind of food, but we didn't. Wifi doesn't function in all the hotel rooms of Il Chiostro and we had difficulties to get on line. The lady at the counter tried to help us, but to no avail as our room was not on line. Later on someone else of a travel agency visiting the hotel explained to us what was the reason of the missing wifi.
Review 18:Large room, balcony, very quiet atmosphere, large nice garden to sit in. Situation in the little village Intra is good, nice historical centre near the Lago Maggiore, the ferry and other vaporetti to the various isles and other villages at the lake.
Review 19:We have stayed here for about 5-6 times in the last three months andhave sent friends there twice, who was just as taken with the hotel aswe were. We have now purchased an apartment in the area (Oggebbio)
Review 20:Parking was in front of hotel on the street but seemed safe enough. Evening meal was dreadful not up to Italian standards.
Review 21:In city position 10/15 minute walk to Lake and shops.
Review 22:No refrigerator in the room
Review 23:The staff was very accommodating and friendly.
Review 24:No much historic features in the hotel. Only those photos shown on the website.
Review 25:Dinner at good price, comfortable room, helpful staff
Review 26:Nothing
Review 27:Large comfortable rooms Relaxing garden areas A bit different
Review 28:Great place for a short holiday in nature (walking, cycling) or radial road trips. Attentive and polite staff. Great breakfast with a good choice.
