Reviews for M3 Hotel

Review 1:Nothing - a fair experience, comfortable and pretty standard.

Review 2:Very reasonable, standard hotel, pretty clean and staff helpful. Location ok...not sure what would make a location really ideal in mandalay since it's such a sprawling city . We decided to walk to ferry terminal for mingun trip and was approximately 30 mins walk so not bad. The big pagodas in town approx 50 mins walking or few dollars by taxi;)breakfast quite nice;)

Review 3:booked our mingdun boat trip thru hotel but had problems but hotel refunded money for boat and extra taxi expense so all good.

Review 4:Helpful staff, location, good value free drink up on the roof top good views of area

Review 5:A bit odd they wanted to charge me for buying "chemicals" to clean"stains" on the bed sheet......which was used for sleeping only....

Review 6:Pleasant hotel in centre of Mandalay.

Review 7:Breakfast leaves something to be desired. There are a lot of offerings but none of them are great. I think it would better for everyone if they offered a choice of 3 items or so, made to order. I found a couple of bugs in my room one night but the staff promptly assisted me to transfer rooms upon my request and handled it very professionally.

Review 8:The staff at this property is amazing and made my stay! As a solo female traveler, i felt very safe and well looked after. The ladies at the desk assisted in planning my time in Mandalay and offered tips on the rest of my trip. I work at a 4-star hotel in Washington, DC and I wish our team took such good care of our guests as they did here at M3. They even MADE me a gift of flowers and balloons when they saw I was alone on my birthday! It blew me away! Thanks for everything!!

Review 9:Ohh.... the restaurant. My first meal was a club sandwich where, sadly too late, I realised the chicken breast was uncooked. Not just a little undercooked... completely raw. On our second stay we had just survived a bus crash and felt too sore to go out to eat and so braved the restaurant again. I opted for a margharita pizza for safety and (whilst there was no raw chicken) I found 3 large pieces of wood under the cheese!! Odd take on a woodsmoked pizza? Who knows but definitely avoid the restaurant!

Review 10:We have stayed at this hotel twice and had two very comfortable visits. The staff are incredibly welcoming and can't do enough to help you, the free bicycle hire is great and the rooms are really comfortable with fast WiFi. On our second visit we were given a free upgrade too which was lovely! The front desk also arranged onward transportation for us without fuss.

Review 11:As Burma gradually becomes more popular with tourists the hotels are playing catch up. Although you wont always get the quality you would expect in other countries, I was very happy with the standards of this hotel.

Review 12:Very central location, around the corner from V cafe, and great highly trained masseuse and spa. Staff are very helpful, and rang around other hotels and booked me rooms for free.

Review 13:Don't book tours and transport with the hotel. The companies they deal with are not the best. Rather make all travel arrangements with a travel agency.

Review 14:Rooms are a nice size and beds are very comfortable. Staff are friendly. Breakfast is good. Good value for money hotel in a convenient location.

Review 15:It was written wonderful view in the terrace…..we found an horrible terrace and no panorama.

Review 16:Really nothing. The Wifi did not work well, and the stairs and the corridors were not clean

Review 17:The room has a strong strange smell that lasted for all the 5 days. No one died and the hotel is nice after all, but better be sure to check the room air before checking in. Also, the "rooftop bar" is a quite a sad place where the laundry is done in daytime and tables/chairs are brought at night, so don't expect any glamour or party :) Also, better get the beer as coctails all taste like vodka + semi-fresh juice...

Review 18:The double room is nice and functional. Design comfort and cleanness is better, than elsewhere we stayed in Myanmar. The staff is helpful and restaurant serves nice meals both for breakfast and a la carte. Also, there is a shop around the corner that sells local alcohol and snacks at least till midnight (cafe Mann at daytime, say "takeaway" to the security guy and he will sell) – it is quite important for the city where everything is closed and dead at 10 pm.

Review 19:The very welcome check in and the wonderful staff that do not know how to make you fell better and better.....They were fantastic, htl is in a good location 3 blocks from the Palace and the restautant's food is excelent !!!!everything perfect !

Review 20:nice and clean hotel, centrally located, very helpful staff, can organize everything for you like boat to Bagan, taxies, trip to U-Bein Bridge, daytour by private car, etc.

Review 21:Breakfast options were good. But table clothes dirty from morning to next morning not changed. Restaurant staff needed more training.

Review 22:Within walking distance from the moat and the mountain

Review 23:Very nice staff. We arrived early and got our room as soon as possible with an upgrade because standard rooms have been fully booked. Good breakfast. The restaurant is good too. The price was ok for what we got .

Review 24:No faults, superb hotel

Review 25:The staff were so friendly, our room was spacious and very well presented. The location is right next to the royal palace and centre of Mandalay. This hotel went well and beyond its needs to make our stay great and for that I am very thankful. A must stay destination if you go to Mandalay and the prices are so reasonable, even the mini bar

Review 26:Noisy during the day, bicycles for western people to small

Review 27:Modern and very clean bathroom, daily complementary water, good beds with reading lamps, very friendly staff, very good cost benefit, bicycle for free.

Review 28:Our room smelled really bad, someone came to 'check' (meaning spraying air freshener into the AC and then leaving). The hotel looks run down and in very bad shape. It is mostly catered to Chinese visitors. I had a burger in the restaurant which I could not finish, it was very bad.

Review 29:Location is good, it's close to the Mandalay fort and the train station. That's about it.

Review 30:Very noisy (they should invest in soundproof windows) Mouldy shower curtain

Review 31:Very helpful staff Comfortable bed Complimentary water Wifi is bad but so in the rest of the country

Review 32:way to access to evalator is not good especially if you got heavy lauggages. The breakfast is not well preapred for guest. Internet is very slow.

Review 33:location, faciliteis

Review 34:Standard hotel with reasonable price and good service. Staff very helpful and you can get everything. Facilities are all very good. Complimentary breakfast and good sky bar. Worth the price.

Review 35:slow wifi i would say only the location coz its where you find autoparts mechanics etc

Review 36:friendly helpful staff, really comfortable room well equiped on a great budget, breakfast is vast and variable

Review 37:Location for me was awful. Noisy and dirty district. Nearest restaurant was an appalling Indian too horrific to go into, which they directed me to.

Review 38:Large bed Large room Friendly and helpful staff

Review 39:The general issue of poor broadband throughout Myanmar is frustrating, particularly when your using it to forward plan your trip - but hey........it could be worse!

Review 40:Only stayed one day but arrived at 3.30am due to early bus arrival and reception actually gave us our room (upgraded) almost 12 hrs early which was hugely appreciated. Based on our experience i'd certainly recommend this hotel

Review 41:- bed sheets could be cleaner and renewed more often, I guess - initial smell of mould put me off a little bit though it wasn't too bad after all

Review 42:- friendly staff at reception desk helped me with city maps, taxi bookings, etc. - restaurant / breakfast - Wi-Fi, slightly better than other places I've visited - comfortable bed - clean bathroom - air-con worked fine, so did my cable TV

Review 43:The only downside was the restaurant. The staff were friendly but acted like they had never worked in a restaurant before. It took 40 minutes to receive drinks (after food) though the fridge with the drinks was 5 metres away. Staff also did not advise that eggs could be requested for breakfast.

Review 44:Staff were brilliant as was the room

Review 45:Breakfast was not very good. The hot food was cold (since they kept the containers open), and the toast only had butter and jam. I would have liked some ham, cheese or eggs with that, to fill my stomach with some protein too.

Review 46:Very helpful staff, both at check-in and when booking shared taxi out of Mandalay. Rooms were gorgeous and clean (compared to guesthouses with similar rates in other Myanmar cities)

Review 47:Overall it was just great! Pillows are a bit hard, but that was the case in every hotel in Myanmar

Review 48:Staff was super friendly! They helped us a lot! Was very close to imperial city They had free bikes, which were great to go up the mountain and around imperial city Breakfast was really good too! We would definitely book this hotel again! The price was great for everything we got!

Review 49:One of the bikes they lent me was in awful shape, dangerous to drive. But i returned it and they changed it.

Review 50:Room is big and comfortable, great to come home to.

Review 51:- fixed windows - noise - leaking bathtub

Review 52:- very kind and helpful staff - big bottle of complimentary drinking water every day - sky bar - brekky - nice view (Mandalay Hill - room #606)

Review 53:rooms in lower floors have no view. Try to get a room in floor 3 or above.

Review 54:good internet, location, attentive staff. Some rooms are big and beds quite comfortable. Good & mixed breakfast.

Review 55:Upon checkout, they insist I consumed a bottled water in the refrigerator which I did not. After argument, they still charged me 500Kyat for that. This makes an unhappy ending. Other than that, it is good.

Review 56:Good location, close to a few good street foods. Fairly ok breakfast, not as good as the one in Bagan but reasonable. The room is old but clean. It has mold smell in the room and you have to keep the window open for a while everyday.

Review 57:There was nothing not to like. However, the restaurant staff do need a little more English, just a suggestion.

Review 58:The staff were very helpful and friendly. In particular the women on the reception desk spoke good English and were very knowledgeable and were able to help us organise our visits to the sights in and around Mandalay.

Review 59:Room was comfortable, with large window in room as well as bathroom Nice rooftop bar with good cocktails on 8th floor (Mandalay has few taller buildings so nice view) Breakfast spread was good Accepts credit card payment Location good - close to the palace

Review 60:nothing to see in walking distance. No restaurants around. But relatively close to the Royal palace. Maybe it's already a convenient location in Mandalay, I don't know.

Review 61:Very friendly staff and nice room

Review 62:Booked standard double, was given superior twin Room floor was dirty, someone came to swipe it upon request No hot water after 10pm, staff came in but couldn't fix it. They gave us a 5% discount Hot breakfast was actually cold Staff incompetent and barely speaks english

Review 63:Nothing

Review 64:The staff were lovely ,but the room was box like and there were no s surfaces for our things. The shower was tiny and breakfast was inedible. A central hotel ,but I would not book it again.

Review 65:*location is ok but not really near any shops and restaurants *airport transfer was messed up

Review 66:*Friendly and helpful staff *Reasonably priced *Clean and comfortable *wifi was quite good for Myanmar standards

Review 67:No in-room safe. Hangers in wardrobe only good for jackets and dresses, no good for trousers. Shower in bathtub flooded floor!

Review 68:Good size room and bathroom, good lighting, big, well designed wardrobe, and very comfortable bed. Very sweet and helpful staff. Fairly central location.

Review 69:There was one night at around 1am when I heard people talking very loudly in the corridor or at the stairs in Burmese. I hope that just happened to happen.

Review 70:Staffs are very welcoming and very helpful. Their breakfast has a lot of choices for food. The room is quite large and really nice.

Review 71:It was a lot better then expected, it was standing that it was a to star hotel, but it's more like a three star hotel. The room was very nice and the staff was very helpful.

Review 72:nothing to complain

Review 73:located downtown, good point to start exploring Mandalay most helpful and pleasant reception staff we had in Myanmar large variety for breakfast

Review 74:Breakfast was unfortunately a bit poor but not the worst we had in Myanmar, at least there was toast.

Review 75:The staff in this hotel were amazing. We arrived after an overnight bus journey at 5am and with a booking for that night and the staff made up a room for us to use by 6. Not only this but they helped us book a tour and some hotels calling any number of them for us! At one point they even sent a member of staff down to the boat office to find out some information for us, well beyond the call of duty!

Review 76:Nothing.

Review 77:The staff. So helpful. They even let us check in mega-early. Yummy food in the restaurant. Blackout curtains - heaven after a sleepless night bus journey. Free flow tea and coffee in the lobby.

Review 78:Take care the Airport is at least an hour from the hotel. Don't leave too late as many folks miss their plane.

Review 79:We had a 7th floor room, it was huge with great views.

Review 80:A/C had some wierd smell upon turning it on. Maybe some sort of insect repellent.

Review 81:Staff is helpful and warm. The hotel is well known among taxi drivers, so no worries about getting there. Staff helps with organizing day trips and recommendations for tours. Location is alright, nice street food options close by. The all-veg Nepali restaurant is a good choice if you are looking for a restaurant with vegetarian food.

Review 82:- very noisy in the morning - the doors banging and phone ringing from 7am.

Review 83:- nice comfortable hotel - good choice at breakfast - Wifi was great - easy to walk to most of the places to visit throughout Mandalay - free bike hire available with booking

Review 84:- could be cleaner (fresh towels were always dirty and lots of stains on table cloth at breakfast / dinner place - breakfast ok but not awesome

Review 85:- Staff was very friendly - car for tour around Mandalay and surroundings can be organized - food in restaurant was surprisingly good

Review 86:I have nothing negative to say about M3 Hotel.

Review 87:M3 Hotel is very good value for money. Staff is friendly and serviceminded, people in reception spoke english well.

Review 88:Constant smell in the room of some kind of product, presumably against moths. But it's ok, one gets used to it.

Review 89:Rather high standing for the price! Friendly staff, decent breakfast. Central location with respect to all Mandalay attraction sites.

Review 90:the postcards sold in M3 are expensive, and sending them from by M3 needs another 1000K. booking taxi and one-day-package are more expensive than other hotels

Review 91:clean, good wifi, delicious breakfast, free hire bicycles, nice and warm service, cool AC

Review 92:Having breakfast and dinner there is a not a good decision. Food is not good and it takes them ages to bring it to your table. A real bad experience in that sense.

Review 93:The hostel is quite good taking into account the rooms and its location, very centric.

Review 94:Modern place, had good wifi and satellite TV, well located in the sort of 'centre' small room but nice and brioght and new. Mid-range place which can seem expensive compared to other countries but seems to be the going rate,

Review 95:Nothing due to the paid price

Review 96:Great optionfor a price of USD 35 per night. Hotel is basic but ok, clean and it has a great location. Wifi connection is very poor, as in most of the hotels of thecountry

Review 97:Unfortunately seemed like a government owned type hotel, but could have been wrong.

Review 98:Good central hotel, smart, clean, nice buffet breakfast and helpful staff!

Review 99:Slow service for breakfast. Very noisy.

Review 100:Some rooms have new flooring and 2nd window for noise proofing. Avoid the others.

Review 101:When I checked out, they tried to double charge me. I noticed, thankfully.

Review 102:They let me have an early check-in - fabulous.

Review 103:location, room, service

Review 104:Good location. Great service. Really helpful for onward plans.

Review 105:- No flooding of the bathroom when showering - Helpful staff
