Reviews for Hotel Heintz
Review 1:Charming hotel in the city centre of Vianden; perfectly located! Nice rooms; very decent bathroom; we've slept very well in the bed. Tasty and ample breakfast, served timely by the friendly personnel. The hotel owners give very good service to the hotel guests; e.g. by supplying good touristic tips for walking routes and restaurants in Vianden. Next time we'll be around, we'll stay again in this hotel!
Review 2:Tea/coffe facilities in the room would've been excellent.
Review 3:Petra made everyone very welcome. Excellent breakfast and the honesty bar is a really good idea. Beautiful hotel and surrounding areas too and some excellent restaurants close by. Good parking. Telesiege is a must!! We hope to return soon!!
Review 4:Well placed in Viaden with private parking (pre-booked) behind the hotel. A good recommendation for dinner as the hotel has no restaurant. Family-run.
Review 5:Excellent town centre location and a perfect stop-over on our way to southern Germany. A comfortable clean hotel with very friendly staff and good value.
Review 6:Had to be careful not to park the motorbike at the back of the garage as it got full and wouldn't have been possible to leave early without getting the other bikers to move their bikes!
Review 7:Fabulously quirky hotel, relaxed and casual atmosphere, lovely lady on reception. Big garage for the motorbike which was great because it rained whist we were there. Halfway up a relatively steep hill, the location was really good for the chateau and also the river and restaurants.
Review 8:We didn't know there was an annual international music festival and had to leave before it began. Next time, we will make a point to arrange our stay around the festival. Also, the sausage shop doesn't ship to the USA so make sure you buy extra to take home...we didn't and are craving the Vianden sausage with walnuts. My husband's mobile phone and my sunglasses disappeared in Vianden. Truly a bummer but it didn't ruin our stay!
Review 9:Great location in center of town. Garden view room lovely, airy, and quiet. Elevator. Parking in back. Hosts are very knowledgable about area, restaurants, hikes. Very clean. So much to do here; hiking, castle, chair lift, churches, patisseries, sausage shop.
Review 10:-Much noise from arriving, and leaving guests outside of building -Thin walled building
Review 11:-Very stylish location, and hotel facilities -Excellent breakfast service -Perfect WiFi quality
Review 12:Quite noisy because of the thin walla. We were happy that it had a balcony but couldn't really leave the door open because there's a path right in front of the balcony. 100% non-smokers hotel, you can't even smoke on the balcony even though we were on the top floor. The bathroom was quite small also.
Review 13:Nice view in the back, beatiful little garden. Nice enough rooms, really basic though.
Review 14:Our double bed was just two twin beds pushed together and we were given a separate, single duvet for each side!
Review 15:The location was good. We were right in the town centre but tucked away up a side street so it was handy to get to places but also quite quiet. The balcony was nice and had a lot of greenery.
Review 16:Breakfast is a bit overpriced there are however good alternative opportunities nearby in the city centre
Review 17:Location is very good. Staff is very friendly.
Review 18:Noisy street: windows have sound insulation, but had to keep them open since it was very warm and no ac available
Review 19:Central accommodation with friendly and helpful staff.
Review 20:Breakfast was a bit basic but sufficient
Review 21:Traditional hotel in the centre of Vianden with a terrific private parking space at the back of the hotel! Nice terrace and garden and last but not least: a very friendly staff!
Review 22:We arrived during an unusual hot spell in Luxembourg and the lack of air conditioning was a problem. There is also a substantial amount of street noise in the morning when traffic starts to rumble through town. Bringing baggage up the stairs into the building was also difficult.
Review 23:The location is great and the room was very nice. The bathroom was nicely updated.
Review 24:The wifi wasn't that fast in the room, though it was available, which is good enough :)
Review 25:The location was good! In the old city center of Veianen. Despite the sounds of the cars, I would recommend the location :)
Review 26:Like the frienliness. I just stopped by after watching Tour de France in Alpe d'huez. They arranged a private parking slot for me even that ithe P-place was full. It was a walking distance from the famous chatou.
Review 27:A really lovely hotel, run by very nice people. We had a fabulous stay at the start of our European tour. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to fellow travellers.
Review 28:Noise, the locals coming out of the bars at night. Other hotel guests shouting down the corridors at midnight. No air con, and as there was a heatwave, we had to sleep with windows open, trucks go by all night and the tractors start at 5am, not quiet on cobbled streets.
Review 29:A character hotel in the centre of town within walking distance to good restaurants and local sights. The room was spacious and clean.
Review 30:If you are a light sleeper, avoid having a room at the front of the hotel, it can get quite noisy with traffic (cobble stones). Would like darker curtains as they did not black out the light at all. Also, no air-conditioning and it was very hot the night we stayed. We had to close the windows due to noise from traffic.
Review 31:Lovely property in a nice little town. Very friendly staff (owner?). A very simple basic hotel that provides what you need. Lovely garden and room and bathroom were very clean and practical.
Review 32:Nothing - all good
Review 33:We arrived on motorcycles and were given the garage to park in. Beautiful gardens with a great location. Breakfast was very good and the owners were very helpful.
Review 34:None
Review 35:Warm welcome from the hosts. Arranged a garage for the motorbikes - no problem at all. No meals available apart from breakfast, but choices within walking distance
Review 36:Friendly helpfull staff, great location for exploring local area and town. Excellent Garage parking for numerous motorcycles. A very nice experience and value for money.
Review 37:Beds maybe a little firm.
Review 38:A charming property run by experienced third generation hosts. Public areas with many beautiful antiques but rooms with modern facilities. Our room had a lovely wisteria covered balcony. Off-street courtyard parking very welcome.
Review 39:Had to park in a pay-and-display car park 100m from hotel.
Review 40:Helpful English-speaking staff, attractive hotel, centrally location in a charming town, reasonable room.
Review 41:Superb hotel in a beautiful location. Owners and Staff extremely friendly. Continental breakfast was excellent. Motorbike parking under cover in a garage. It was so good on our outbound journey we stayed again on our return leg.
Review 42:Had 2 a joining rooms. The front door of one was so badly fitting you could see into the room from the hallway through the gap. Easily hear the neighbor's in their rooms.
Review 43:Nice atmosphere in the village. Close to the castle
Review 44:We wish we could have stayed longer......
Review 45:We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Heintz very much. We picked the hotel out of a brochure we obtained at the Luxembourg City Travel and Information Office. The staff were friendly, cordial and helpful. The accommodations were better than we expected after picking the hotel from a brochure and having known no one who had stayed here before. The room was very comfortable and the location is ideal for seeing the Northern part of Luxembourg.
Review 46:Would have liked a kettle in the room.
Review 47:Location; on the main street of Vianden and close to the castle. Balcon, with a view of the hill-side. Large room.
Review 48:Bathroom and room a bit cramped, nothing more. Pay to park.
Review 49:Views from the room of the old wall and the countryside are excellent. Staff was helpful and accommodating. Drinks, including beer & wine available all hours was nice. Atmospher of hotel was fantastic.
Review 50:hard beds with wooden frame. old fashion. no blackout in windows. not sound proof you hear everything, next to you, and above you. only continental breakfast offered.
Review 51:the location. parking facilities. decoration. heating. warm welcome and personnel.
Review 52:Beds a bit hard some fruit for breakfast would have been good as can't eat bread
Review 53:Staff the front desk fellow gong out of his way to help with directions. His helpful atiude made our stay
Review 54:Lovely people (english speaking) good food, as much coffee/juice we could drink at breakfast, beautiful place and beautiful quirky rear garden, garage for our Harleys, couldnt ask for more
Review 55:Coffee making facility would be nice but not a major fault as there is a great pattisserie within two minutes walk .
Review 56:Stayed as a group on a motorcycling holiday . Fantastic roads nearby . Bikes kept overnight in a secure garage . Easy to find . Town is just on the doorstep .The hosts were very accomodating and spoke at least three languages so communication was very easy . Will definately be returning .
Review 57:Althought the kids slept well, for an adult who appreciates a sleep comfort or pillow top type bed...this was not the place.
Review 58:The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location was right in the middle of town. Being with a family of four, the family room was setup by way of two adjoining rooms sharing a bathroom. The breakfast was nicely done with fresh baked crossiants and bread from the bakery next door.
Review 59:Nothing.
Review 60:This was our second visit to the hotel and once again we couldn't fault it. Wonderfully helpful staff, beautiful location and gorgeous breakfast. We were on a motorbiking holiday and it is the ideal stop off location.
Review 61:Very Nice location in towncentre; Convenient parking lott with cute green terrace; very friendly, helpfulll owner; beautiful antique details in hotel f.i. the door. Inspiring walk on stairs to the castle juist across the hotel.
Review 62:Having to leave
Review 63:This hotel was just great, it is located in a beautiful town and the staff greeted us promptly and provided garage parking for our motorcycles. Breakfast was ample and the advice given for evening meals was spot on.
Review 64:Suspect the rooms at the front maybe a bit noisy with traffic running over the cobbled street. You need to pay extra for parking but only 7 Euros a night.
Review 65:Excellent location in the middle of town with friendly helpful staff. Comfortable rooms, if somewhat plain and traditional décor throughout. Breakfast not included in the rate but reasonably priced if you want it or a local bakery a couple of doors down if you don't. Rooms at the back with balcony are the best and overlook a pretty courtyard.
Review 66:Nothing. Absolutely fantastic.
Review 67:location staff friendliness staff speak many languages beautiful hotel fantastic location walk to castle on hilltop excellent value breakfast good choice of restaurants close by
Review 68:Very good as always; our fifth visit. The addition of the drinks cabinet is good; allowing for a relaxing drink on the terrace in the evening. Great place to stop off as part of a motorcycle tour ( garage for bike )
Review 69:No 'proper' bar, just a selection of drinks in a fridge, with only one type of beer available.
Review 70:Very clean, friendly staff and good location. Walking distance to lots of bars and restaurants, and close to the castle.
Review 71:Nothing
Review 72:Our first visit to Vianden and we're so glad we chose this hotel. The central location in the old town is excellent and the style and atmosphere of the hotel was just what we were looking for. Comfortable and quiet room with a balcony overlooking the garden was just the place to relax with a glass of wine after a busy days sightseeing. Breakfast was excellent. Owners and staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
Review 73:No real bar or restaurant. Motorcycle parking was a bit of a nightmare with the garage already full and the car park packed. Getting the bikes in and out on the wet cobbles in limited space was a bit stressful.
Review 74:Friendly, helpful staff. Great location to visit the town.
Review 75:Beds and pillows were hard and lumpy. No fan in the bathroom. Decor was all over the place, with 19th cent. items in the halls, 60s bedrooms, 90s drapes and pillows and modern bathrooms.
Review 76:Location was right in the town centre. Hotel staff were so friendly and very helpful, made you feel welcome.
Review 77:The location was perfect. Vianden is a jewel and this is the perfect place to experience it from. The view is breathtaking and being there was a peaceful getaway from the daily rush. The staff were friendly and ready to assist but never in the way. Highly recommended.
Review 78:Vianden was fantastic. We really enjoyed our stay in Vianden and Hotel Heintz. Location was great. The hotel was well appointed and very charming. Staff were extremely friendly and the breakfast was excellent.
Review 79:The owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the staff equally so. The location was perfect for touring the area and well placed in the town making it easy to walk out for drinks and meals. Absolutely first class and exceptional value for money.
Review 80:Unsuitable location for people with mobility issues due to steep hills.
Review 81:Warm and informative welcome. Staff always cheerful, effecient and helpful. Good sized room with balcony. Great breakfast. Interesting artefacts throughout the hotel. Good location.
Review 82:The staff have made a real effort to make this historic building a speical mix of antique furniture with excellent modern amenities. And it is right across the road from the steps leading up to Vianden Castle so also a perfect location.
Review 83:Older style building which may not appeal to some. It did to us!
Review 84:The fact it's a beautiful building, set in a beautiful town, and run by the 4th generation of the same family.
Review 85:When people in the garden were smoking we could smell the cigarette smoke.
Review 86:As a family we had two separate rooms, connected by a shower room. This was very convenient. Beds were large and comfortable. The patio garden was nice. We had rooms at the back (garden side) and therefore very quiet. Breakfast was very nice and served really friendly
Review 87:Good sized, clean room, staff very friendly, garage for motorcycle parking, great breakfast, hotel has character and is on the main road so plenty of bars, shops, cafes etc. within a minutes stroll.
Review 88:Breakfast disappointing but adequate. Spoke to some other people who said the hotel used to do a lovely breakfast but now just a simple continental
Review 89:We chose this bike after noting in reviews they had secure parking for motorcycles. We had a superb room and were welcomed in and shown the drying room where we could dry off our wet bike gear.
Review 90:It is a shame that the dining room is no longer used to provide evening meals, but there are many good restaurants near by.
Review 91:Excellent position on the main street, with good parking in a town where parking is not easy. Delightfully furnished with antique furniture. Lovely "secret" gardens lead up to the old town wall. Superb fresh bread at breakfast. Very helpful proprietress.
Review 92:Arriving on Motorbikes this Hotel is excellent as they have a large garage to use free of charge. Its a great first night's stay from Calais for touring round Luxembourg, Germany or further. There's plenty of places to eat and drink. If you have time the Castles a must do and the Cable Chairs.
Review 93:arrived on bank holiday so couldn't get breakfast but bakery was nearby for coffee, this is being picky
Review 94:fantastic hotel in fantastic location. very helpful staff. everything about the place was a plus, secure garage for motorbike, cant wait to go back
Review 95:No air conditioning in the bedroom. We were in Vianden in a very hot day and it was hard to sleep. Maybe when the weather is 'normal' or cooler it would be ok. Bathroom without adequate ventilation.
Review 96:The location was mid-point between Vianden castle & the center of town with lots of restaurants within walking distance. Our room overlooked the gardens in the back and remnants of the ancient fortification wall & watch towers. The hotel was tastefully furnished, homey and clean. Check-in was easy. Breakfast was great and we appreciated the endless cups of coffee. Need I say more?
Review 97:The ambiance of the hotel was a treat. The public rooms were very comfortable for reading and for the special breakfast. The use of vintage items on every landing was quite clever. The room was comfortable with the view to the garden a bonus!
