Reviews for Hotel Londra - Firenze
Review 1:No air conditioning at this time of the year, even though it was very warm out. No screens on the Windows allowed mosquitos into the room.
Review 2:Good location and the look was nice.
Review 3:Was quite expensive, and not really sure why.
Review 4:Very convenient to the train station. Very nice and roomy lobby. Great breakfast. Room was nice enough, but lots of noise from the floor above right at bed time. Staff nice, but not as friendly as some other places we stayed. Very fast wifi. Has a gym, small, but enough to get some blood pumping.
Review 5:Room has no ventilation, boiling hot even in winter and feel no air, can't breath :( Very noisy from room above, can hear noise from flushing toilet and shower
Review 6:Staff was helpful
Review 7:All furniture old / bathtub small water splashing everywhere on floor/ poor fitness centre- expected it to be better equipped for a4 star hotel
Review 8:Location/ excellent breakfast & inclusive in rate/ good service
Review 9:Staff not unfriendly, but not particularly friendly. Room had a funny smell and was quite dated. Room looked over tramway line, which was very noisy until 1 am every night and started up again at 05:00. Being near the station is useful, but you had to cross a lot of roads to get near the historic centre.
Review 10:Breakfast buffet was amazing and was part of the reason I booked the hotel. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room, which was a nice surprise.
Review 11:We were very grateful to have been given a free room upgrade to a superior room. We enjoyed our stay very much and would happily recommend to friends and family and definitely return again. Thank you for an amazing stay :)
Review 12:Looks like there are two building parts: a renovated one and an old one. I was in the old one. Anyway, The beds were simply not comfortable for 4 nights. I had a back pain after the second day. Tye power sockets were not all working.
Review 13:Location and cleanliness.
Review 14:Location is close to station but a little off from all the main attractions. Room is basic. When we checked in, we were given a room that faced the tram lines. It was very noisy and we requested a change in room.
Review 15:A decent hotel with facilities such as gym and sauna. Good breakfast spread.
Review 16:Over priced for room- room only fair condition- outdated decor. A few of the reception staff were not friendly
Review 17:Ground floor was lovely. Some of the staff on reception were pleasant. Lunches on conference were fabulous- compliments to the lunchtime kitchen staff
Review 18:Not welcoming staff. it is 4 star hotel but they didnt provide us with enough towels and facilities. We got triple room for three, but bathroom and tea services were for two. They totally forgot to give our passport and left it on counter with no supervision. just one staff speaks english!!!!
Review 19:Close to Train station, breakfast.
Review 20:The bed mattress was firm and lumpy. The plug for spa bath was broken therefore could not use. No duvet just a sheet and the bedcover. Also could not open door to balcony to see and photograph views. Minor issues that Gould be easily fixed with maintenance.
Review 21:Well located, very close walk to the Firenze station. Large room well furnished. Beautiful bathroom facilities. Very large twin beds in our room, almost the size of a double bed. Breakfast was included in price and was amazing. Pastries, fresh fruits, cereals, yoghurts, bacon and eggs, cheeses and cold meats. Something to suit everyone. Felt very spoilt to stay here.
Review 22:Staff should speak better English or be able to understand English visitors, not all staff on deal was friendly, last room handle on bathroom door broken, no mink fridge when told there was.
Review 23:Location was convenient, breakfast was good, cleaning was adequate.
Review 24:the room decor was very white and boring and needed some colour to brighten it up. the shower head was too high above you head and spayed all over the place
Review 25:bathroom layout was great and big as well as the room
Review 26:The room was a good size and well-appointed. Breakfast was very good. The location was superb: handy for train and bus stations, which we made use of, and was also within walking distance of the interesting parts of the city.
Review 27:- The bathroom sliding glass door is not practical and clanks a lot. - in front there's Tram line, although I was in the 4th floor, but it was a bit noisy for me. (but you also get good view from there)
Review 28:- Location nearby the train station and most of the important attractions are nearby. - The restaurant for the break fast is really nice and the staff are attentive. - Room design is really unique
Review 29:The hotel was pretty basic and really dated, nothing at all to justify it's cost. The paint on the walls in the bathroom was peeling off, one of the beds was on a slant and a bit wonky, which made it hard to sleep on. The breakfast wasn't great.
Review 30:Location was excellent, short walk into the centre of town and right next to the train station which is great for exploring the rest of Tuscany
Review 31:Old furnished rooms Smell in the room Alacarte Restaurant is expensive
Review 32:Rooms are old furnished especially 6th floor but it was clean.no problem with hygiene.
Review 33:WiFi was awful. They have signs for "The Ferarri of WiFi" at their hotel but it was the worst. I asked to move rooms but they could not assist. I sat in the lobby for hours just so send emails.
Review 34:Staff were so friendly, the breakfast buffet was amazing. The bar and restaurant were wonderful as well. The service throughout was excellent. Location was perfect.
Review 35:In our bathroom the toilet seat was broken off one of the hinges. The soap dish was half way detached from the wall. The hall way carpet was old and needed to be replaced.
Review 36:The lobby and dining areas were very nicely decorated. Our bed was very good and things were clean.
Review 37:The Hotel Landra is a beautiful experience. The rooms are comfortable and well laid out. The food is amazing at the breakfast buffet and the evening dinner menu is amazing.
Review 38:None .
Review 39:We stayed three nights in this hotel, and enjoyed it. The room was very quiet and super clean. The location is excellent if you arrive by train. The breakfast is very good.
Review 40:We really enjoyed the hotel. It's in a great location, the staff were excellent and all were helpful and spoke English. The restaurant is lovely and the breakfast bar had loads of choice. All in all, it was a good choice and I would recommend it to others.
Review 41:We where originally put in one of there old rooms, after pics on booking.com we came to realize this is not what we had based our booking on. When we approached reception they where very good about changing our room the next day, the breakfast is not very good at all,
Review 42:Close to town centre, train station around corner, clean, kettle etc, the new rooms are lovely and modern, the restaurant meals are very good and staff where very nice
Review 43:If you are a light sleeper, it will be hard for you to get much sleep. The walls and ceilings are very thin so you can always hear someone opening a wardrobe and flushing the chain of the toilet.
Review 44:The bedroom and bathroom is reasonably comfortable. The breakfast is good with s lot of variety. It is close to the train station and the city centre.
Review 45:A lot of stairs within the level even though there is a lift servicing every level. Room is a little bit old and there was NO HOT WATER.
Review 46:Location was great. Breakfast spread was good as well.
Review 47:Several of the staff at the reception desk were very rude. Two older men in particular. Thee manner was impatient and condescending.
Review 48:Some of the staff were nice but others rude.
Review 49:We were charged to park motorcycles which rarely happens at other hotels due to the fact they don't have to be parked in a car parking space. Hotel staff would not lend us an iron and insisted on us using the expensive ironing service.
Review 50:Nothing stood out.
Review 51:Terrible location near train tracks. Small very dated and claustrophobic rooms . The photos on Booking were not representative of the property. Mattresses have no support, springs poking up, A "dive"
Review 52:Nothing at all
Review 53:Reception was not helpful at all. We asked about local bus, sightseeing, he doesn't offer much help (this gentleman does speak good English) It seems the air conditioner was not clean, we suddenly got allege when swith on the air-con
Review 54:breakfast was great with quick and good service. Hotel has a very good location, easy to commute To anywhere and very close to the main train station.
Review 55:The location very ideal, closer to the station and main city sightseeing. Easy access to the station and the main city attractions. In addition to the above the both reception and the restaurant staff are really helpful. The family room was quite large. Rooms are also quite big :) and good view from the balcony. We enjoyed our stay our we will go back again.
Review 56:Stayed in a room facing the street, when streetcars would go by it was very loud. WiFi was a little weak, couldn't run some applications on my iPad.
Review 57:Very close to the main train station. Rooms were spacious. Nice balcony overlooking the street.
Review 58:next to tram tracks which were noisy til late at night and early morning king bed was two beds pushed together
Review 59:breakfast selection especially prosecco close to train station / centre
Review 60:1- Its a bit far from central 2- the breakdast was tourreble , everyday they have the same type , the taste was not that good
Review 61:The service was good , most of the staff speak english
Review 62:I had a lovely stay but thought there could be more fresh fruit variety for breakfast.
Review 63:Staff were lovely and helpful at all times. The room was extremely comfortable and always kept clean. Location is perfect for a tourist!
Review 64:We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in June. It is centrally-located (several minutes away from the train station). The room we were given was absolutely amazing - modern, comfortable, spacious and very clean. The staff members were helpful and polite, and the breakfast was nice. We would definitely go back.
Review 65:The only negative was the gym. Old outdated equipment and not a full gym. There was no water for two days and no towels for one day. I complained twice, nothing done about it. I felt ignored and I didn't complain in a horrible way. I asked for more water and towels. I noticed that the gym had not been cleaned in three days as my finger-marks had been left on the mirror from my previous work out. Bar service slow but very friendly. Disappointing that this was the only down side to a nice modern hotel
Review 66:Very Central, good airconditioning, friendly helpful staff
Review 67:The Wifi often struggled to connect
Review 68:The room was very spacious, it was great and modern and the staff were always happy to help out with anything and the location was perfect for us. Definitely recommend the hotel.
Review 69:An $8.00 Heinekin..really. Hotel rates itself as a 4 star property, actually more on the scale of a $69 roadside stay along I 95 on the Eastcoast (USA). Over priced.
Review 70:The buffet breakfast offered a variety of foods however the scrabbled eggs were runny. If you preferred an omelet or any other egg preparation, there was an 8 Euro surcharge. The hotel is 300 yards from the central train, but difficult to find.
Review 71:The bath tub has the old type 1/3 glass door. Extremely inconvenient to take a shower in.
Review 72:Helpful and friendly front desk staff. Helped arrange for a 1 day trip to Tuscany on short notice. Easy to get to and good parking.
Review 73:Staff was probably confused when calling for a taxi, which took 25-30 mins and we got delayed in airport luckily not the flight. Probably the only negative in otherwise excellent service. Maybe improve Wifi that was a little weak.
Review 74:Size and quality of the room, friendliness of most staffs must be mentioned as big positives. It is accessible to places of attraction without being too crowded, very close the train station.
Review 75:Situated on a back street with a view of the tram line and a brick building. A little creepy walking home late at night. Furnishing all in need of repair.
Review 76:Breakfast was great. Location was ok, nice and close to the station.
Review 77:Breakfast was average, lots of choice but quality could have been higher.
Review 78:Great location near train station Lovely hotel, bar and reception area modern and clean Kettle/Tea/Coffee in room. Large room
Review 79:Location within a few minutes of the old city and the main station. Friendly welcome, spacious and well maintained room - very clean. Great breakfast.
Review 80:nothing.
Review 81:Very unfriendly staff. Could not call a cab to take us to the airport. Had to ask an adjacent hotel to call a cab. Lady at desk Ilandra was extremely rude.
Review 82:Great stay. Location is by train and bus station so looked at bit dubious at first sight but is in fact in a quiet street around the corner. Lovely room. Great stay. Approx 10-15 mins walk to the centre and the sights.
Review 83:I found a member of the reception team to be weird. He made me feel really uncomfortable and did not appoligise when I made it clear that it was unwelcome. Stayed in this hotel twice before but years are taking its tolls. Hotel a bit out of the way and new tram system runs past front of it and its noisey
Review 84:Room was ok. Breakfast was also ok but dont touch their attempt at scrambed eggs or bacon. Stick to Italian stuff. Close to railway station but didnt come to Florence to see it every day
Review 85:The wifi was a little problematic and parking was expensive :(
Review 86:Surprisingly good breakfast. Clean and comfortable rooms, spacious. We really appreciated the parking on site but it was 25 euros a night. The walk into town is not bad.
Review 87:I never had so bad coffee in any breakfast and juice was very bad quality. Canned fruits, overcooked bacon. Breakfast in general was not up to 4*
Review 88:Hotel and room was clean and bed was very comfy.
Review 89:Some of the staff were not so helpful. The balcony overlooked the street with trams, so noisy when doors were open. Couldn't hear when doors were closed, which was great. Recommend welcoming guests and taking copies of passports on check-in, to prevent the need to wait around for the details to be typed in.
Review 90:Lovely large bright room with a wee balcony. Modern and great shower. Breakfast was included and had lots of variety. Some of the staff were helpful. We were able to extend our stay easily and there was good information on what we could do in Florence. Being handy to the Firenze SM station was excellent too. Meant we could travel around easily. Good soundproofing in the room when outside doors closed. Restaurants and river within walking distance. As is the duomo and other sites.
Review 91:Large room, comfortable bed, excellent restaurant, and the breakfast is wonderful. The best hotel stay of my entire trip (visited 5 cities in Europe) and the price was about average compared to other places that didn't offer as much. So close to the train station but not noisy at all.
Review 92:Sound-proofing of the room was not good enough - could hear the other room's TV and/or conversations. Also could hear the bus (light rail).
Review 93:The hotel is not far away from train station.
Review 94:Very close to the main train station. The Duomo, Uffizzi Gallery, and Santa Maria Novella all within reasonable walking distance. We also walked back from the Ponte Vecchio.
Review 95:Staff not very friendly. Nice big shower but it leaked very badly.
Review 96:Hotel was close to train station and city center. Nice rooms, good size Excellent breakfast.
Review 97:Sliding doors ALWAYS have gap. Not appropriate for a bathroom. Glass doors make it even worse! Cavity doors work well. A good hotel should be aware of this.
Review 98:Good location, close to the station. Good breakfast.
Review 99:Hate paying for parking but that's everywhere in big cities around the world.
Review 100:The hotel was clean, modern and we'll kept. The room was large, comfortable and offered a great view. Hotel had convenient location and most everything we wanted to see was in walking distance. Breakfast was good and dining room staff was attentive, after first day ermberef what we wanted. Wold absolutely stay there again also, good restaurants nearby.
Review 101:The TV comes on automatically when you enter the room. Created a bit of a problem when the remote wouldn't work and I had no choice but to witness a woman giving birth on television. Lol
Review 102:great location for train and airport... While still handy to the centre of florence. Very clean, excellent modern amenities. Very happy.
Review 103:Receptionist was quite grumpy because I turned up on my own and he thought I had booked for 2 people - the booking was for a 'room' so I don't see why this mattered. The hotel claim to give preferential treatment to women travelling on their own but I didn't get this. Despite requesting a quiet room when booking, as I was travelling on business, I was allocated a very noisy room at the front with the trams outside my window. I could also hear what was going on in my neighbours bathroom!
Review 104:Room was a good size and comfortable Decent breakfast Convenient for train station
Review 105:Me and my friends shared a family room, which was great and had a balcony (hotel not in a pretty position, so don't expect a view!) Unfortunately the walls were thin and you can hear next room flush toilet and hear them talking etc.
Review 106:Location is great for trains and buses, we used the bus for sightseeing, travelling to and from Pisa airport, and went to Siena for a day. You only had to walk 10 mins to be in the centre of Florence. Breakfast was very good which also included a glass of fizz!!!
Review 107:The room was much smaller then what I was expecting based of the pictures. The facilities were undergoing some updates or repairs and that detracted from the overall appearance. The bed was a pretty hard.
Review 108:The location was pretty good and the staff was friendly. I enjoyed the breakfast layout it provided a wide array of food choices. The overall room was clean.
Review 109:Front desk staff is not nice and not patient.
Review 110:Nice room with good space but too close to bus line. Room is very clean, big bath room. breakfast is fine.
Review 111:Location is a bit far from the city center. It is close to the train station but on the other side of the main historic area.
Review 112:It was fine, a standard hotel.
Review 113:Most channels on TV were full of static, also the WIFI was not reliable. The room we had did not have air conditioning and it was very hot!
Review 114:The location, breakfast, and staff were good.
Review 115:There was a leakage in the bathroom heater which kept my girlfriend awake (because of the noise). The hotel tried to fix it but, as it the problem was not solved the following night, we were given an upgrade for no extra charge, which was nice. Although the area where the hotel is located is very convenient, it is not so pretty.
Review 116:Very convenient location (5min walk to/from train station, 5-10min walk to good restaurants, 5min walk to laundromat...).
Review 117:the staff were abrupt and stingy. i asked for extra milk for coffee in room and they gave me 1 little capsule - when i asked for more the bar tender looked at me like i had asked for the crown jewels. only one reason to stay there and that is if you need to be near main station
Review 118:nothing
Review 119:Hot water, there was a problem with their plumbing system during my stay, hot water comes out with dirts
Review 120:Relatively big room with view, very good location, train station and all sightseeing points are within walkable distance.
Review 121:The room was very hot as we couldnt adjust the heating but the staff were very helpful and did all they could to rectify the problem.
Review 122:Room was very clean and spacious and breakfast was very generous and delicious!
Review 123:goodly walk to come and go, but very near train station also distance off set by reasonable prices for Florence and the quality. and amenities
Review 124:comfort, peace, great breakfast
Review 125:Lock on hotel room door was not functional. Neighbourhood dog's evening barking was unpleasant. Bacon was completely over cooked.
Review 126:Gym was not very good, but functional.
Review 127:The room is very spartan. New electronics are not always working and we had to deal with electrical circuit breakers clicking all nite without any consideration for our inconvenience. We asked to switch rooms when we discovered the next Am that the shower was not working properly. Despite the new room, the shower leaks all over floor. Given the Italians are known for bathroom tiling, this is a poor showing.
Review 128:The location is a reasonable walk from train station and quieter.
Review 129:Our room was too hot and we couldn't adjust the temperature. Unlike most rooms, we had no balcony and our windows appeared not to be double glazed as condensation was an issue. The kettle had a dangerous lid that fell into the water. Although tea bags and de-caff. coffee sachets were provided we had to go downstairs to get milk. The marble trapdoor on the side bath panel was loose and fell heavily on my friend's foot. The Reception staff appeared more bothered as to whether the panel was broken than any damage done to her foot!
Review 130:We liked the location of the hotel as it is near the station, the main sites and the airport bus. It is also close to several very good restaurants. The hotel is well appointed and clean. The room was ultra- modern and we had fresh towels every day and good quality bed linen. The breakfast was plentiful and frequently re-stocked. Prosecco was offered and home-made cakes. The only slight criticism is that the coffee tasted stewed. The staff were generally very friendly and polite. Overall, we would recommend booking this hotel for a short break in Florence.
Review 131:no heating system in the room and even after a request at the concierge they just confirmed that they couldn't change this : with temperature below 10° and no heating system is not fair for the customers !
Review 132:Wish to have more decorations in the room. The half shower wall was awkward.
Review 133:The view was good (6-th floor). Breakfast was excellent and location was great too !
Review 134:very surprised by the positive feedback received by the hotel on booking.com. 1. location - yes it's close to the train station but all the major attractions are on the other side of the station, so first you walk 5-10 minutes to the station and then onwards for sightseeing. 2. rooms - we booked a triple bed room and having traveled across Europe this past summer, this was by far the most basic accommodation we've had.. all the furniture was old and very basic.. 3. toilets - also old and basic. all considered, poor value for money!
Review 135:not much.
Review 136:Minor points - there are no drawers in the room and the carpeted areas in the foyer are a bit tired, but apart from that, everything else was fine.
Review 137:Great Location on the edge of the old town, minutes walk from SMN station and yet no traffic noise. The rooms are modern and clean and well soundproofed, which is great for light sleepers like me. Good selection of cheese, meat, yoghurts, pastries, fruit, bacon and boiled eggs for breakfast, also Prosecco for a decadent start to the day. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room but no milk provided. If you need it you need to ask at the bar.
