Reviews for Auberge De L'Our
Review 1:I would have preferred the owner of the hotel to speak English. Difficult basic communication. When we arrived it was closed because we were the only ones staying there for the night, so it was a bit uncomfortable to see it closed even though somebody came within 5 min. The owner was still very kind with us. Nice rooms, but the hall a bit weird. The bed was old and some spots very soft, not even. If you enjoy soft mantras, then it will be nice for you. Nice breakfast area.
Review 2:through the thin walls sounds from toher roomes carry far (like tv and talking)
Review 3:The rooms are nice and look luxurious. It was all very clean. (room and bathroom) Staff was nice and helpfull
Review 4:2nd bed (according specifications for adults) was sleeping couch and too small room, too limtted breakfast & not good enough finishing for price level.
Review 5:Nice location and rooms try to breath some style.
Review 6:Could be cleaner, food is too expensive for really simple basic dishes, in weekends a fair bit of noise from neighbouring bars.
Review 7:Best location in vianden
Review 8:It is by the river, so there are many flies in the town but it is not a problem specific to the hotel
Review 9:View is amazing, staff very friendly and helpful, room is clean and modern
Review 10:Breakfast was not restocked. We had to grab someone and ask for more crossiants. Then she only brought out 3 small ones. We were a table of 4. No AC on a warm day. Room stayed comfortable with windows open, but loud cars and people kept waking us up after 10pm-1pm. Which is crazy for such a small village.
Review 11:Service at check in was great. Room big, and kids loved the bunk beds. Location was excellent. Price was excellent for the room and for a family of 4. We would stay again.
Review 12:Vianden was a quaint little town with a lovely view of the 'Dracula' type chateaux atop the hill. There is a 'sitting' type cable car that takes you to the top which would have been good except it was closed for winter. Instead we hiked to the summit which was nice.
Review 13:Late arrival a bit complicated, close at 20 o´clock. Bathroom not really practical, since divided only by a glass "door", i.e. not proper door.
Review 14:Good location. Good room, spacious, clean.
Review 15:Only a small wardrobe was present in the room. Nice shower but no curtain or barrier to prevent water from wetting the bathroom ground.
Review 16:Nice, modern and clean room.
Review 17:1) FOOD – Food inside Hotel restaurant is very expensive and not so good, do not get trapped with restaurant location (next to the river). There are plenty of other restaurants nearby hotel (walking distance) with Amazing food though cheaper. 2) RECEPTION – They do not have proper reception, also no one knows English, even though they have mentioned that they have multilingual receptionist. 3) WIFI – Very poor Wifi, we need to sit outside of room to connect.
Review 18:The Hotel is too good, center location, though very quiet inside hotel room. They have cozy interior inside the room, with comfortable bed, Big bath room and stylish shower. Also they have big lobby on each floor with comfortable couch, we liked it a lot and enjoyed our stay.
Review 19:Big horse flies in food area. Americans aren't used to this as we have mesh over all windows! Kind of a turn off
Review 20:Proximity to castle. Great views, nice people
Review 21:When we checked in we got a voucher for a glass of champagne. When we went to get it we were told we had to buy dinner to get it.
Review 22:The room was modern and nice. We had a suite which was spacious. There is no air conditioning so you need to leave the window open for a breeze which let's in the sound if the people at the outdoor cafés.
Review 23:Parking a problem on weekend during high season You will climb steps, but if this is an issue, vianden is probably not your best choice.
Review 24:Great breakfast For the size of the town better than ok restaurant Helpful staff
Review 25:Great childrens room
Review 26:Room smell
Review 27:Nice and tidy
Review 28:Dirty stained blanket, cobwebs, mildew, wallpaper peeling due to water damage, weak breakfast.

Review 31:Beds were too firm and uncomfortable.

Review 34:de locatie was perfect
Review 35:Restaurant prices
Review 36:Location
Review 37:No Air conditioner A lot of noise (the hotel is next to the main road)
Review 38:Next to the river
Review 39:Breakfast was okay
Review 40:Location. Room, bedding , bed , free water left in room, everything really
Review 41:wifi wasn't working until the morning
Review 42:Great hotel and location
Review 43:The hotel is calm and safe, comfortable and with pleasant view.
Review 44:Nice location
Review 45:no wifi on the second floor The room was always cold
Review 46:Super nice staff
Review 47:quiet, comfort, view of the casttle.
Review 48:Great hotel but thin walls. Could hear every laugh sneeze channel change and more from rooms next door.
Review 49:Location and amenities were great.
Review 50:Everything is great
Review 51:Amazing place amazing hotel It was a wonderful stay there
Review 52:The beds
Review 53:The location
Review 54:Traffic noise. Bad evening meal: overpriced and overcooked.
Review 55:Riverside location. Views of Vianden Castle from the terrace and the room.
Review 56:The hotel is centrally located by the river with charming views and easy walking distance to the château. Parking is roadside but in a quiet road about 100 metres from the hotel.
Review 57:Entrance to the hotel is by 4 stairs and I had a buggy, baby, bags and a bad back. After staying a day and a half I found another door that get entrance to the ground level that is only one step. I was disappointed that no staff member had pointed that out to me. All rooms are another approx 20 stairs so this hotel is not suitable for people with access issues. There didn't seem to be staff around in the mornings - one morning I couldn't find anyone so helped myself to the room with the baby high chairs and then helped myself to a cloth to clean it before we could use it. Focus seems to be more on the restaurant service that the hotel accommodation.
Review 58:The location by the river and with a view of the castle is great. I stayed in a comfort room with a baby and this is a compact room as advertised but suited our needs just fine. It is well designed for its size and makes good use of space. Breakfast was a nice continental breakfast with variety of breads and meats, fruit, cereal etc. The restaurant was nice, sitting by the river again with some view of the castle but also a little understaffed. Food was average for the price. Very good wifi.
Review 59:Room was next to dirty and untidy attic room where door left open all the time for people to come & go. Wooden floor very dirty so we had to wash it over, however the rest of the room was clean. Staff argued openly in front of guests when we were checking out.
Review 60:Size of the room and location to the town. The bed was extremely comfortable.
Review 61:Uninterested staff, breakfast was limited choice, many flies in breakfast room
Review 62:Refurbished room with OK bathroom, nice location at the river in Vianden
Review 63:Don't get fooled by the professional photographs or location of hotel. This was the most disastrous hotel we have ever stayed at in our whole life. Staff (except from Hubert who was absolutely fantastic) was unfriendly, and almost couldnt speak english, WIFI didnt work in rooms, only outside the rooms, no reception = long waiting times, very expensive, no value for money, poor breakfast full of flies, rooms are very noisy since hotel is situated right by the main street in Vianden. No ventilation. All rooms have views towards street and not waterside. Watch out for room 26 which is a single room with a cramped double bed, but hotel is renting out as superior room. Upon arrival hotel guests get a voucher for free champagne in hotel's own restaurant. Just to find out it's only free if you order food from their overpriced menu. No parking area. You had to find your own parking space somewhere in Vianden, together with all other tourists and guests in town. We would definately not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Review 64:Location of hotel is central, BIG flat screen tv, good standard of furniture, and modern bathrooms
Review 65:Many stairs - but got help with the bag up not down, but I could haveasked. WiFi was slow and weak could not work
Review 66:Nice small hotel with nice people
Review 67:We sat for 20 minutes waiting to order drinks & food. The young waiters by-passed us, didn't even stop us when we got up and walked out. We went to the hotel opposite who were very helpful and friendly and ate their both nights. Warning this is an expensive hotel
Review 68:view of castle
Review 69:The room we got (n°26) was way too small (12m² total!?), for 90eur/night, this is ridiculous. The bed was half broken and you rolled off the sides, not very comfy. No place to sit in the room, and the closet was simply unreachable.. At breakfast there were some insects in the sugar dispenser.. so watch out if you need sugar. A lot of flies at the reception, I did not like. We will not be coming back to this hotel.
Review 70:The food in the restaurant was decent. The breakfast was OK. The bathroom was small, but clean. The WiFi was good.
Review 71:The staff was really annoyed. We arrived late and called the number on the door. The woman was clearly agitated which I understand but she was still agitated the next day as was the woman whom we paid.
Review 72:The rooms were very clean and the bathrooms were spacious. The breakfast was typical Dutch.
Review 73:Location is ideal. Great view of the castle from the terrace restaurant. The kids loved the bunk beds. Walk in shower was beautiful. Food was fantastic!
Review 74:Late checkout was no problem!
Review 75:No parking, A very cold room with paper thin walls.
