Reviews for Viven Hotel

Review 1:I just dont like the staff at the reception. i am concern with my booking period. She say she already email me that we could not stay in the hotel in my stated time. But when i checked my email. It is already too late. Because we already arrived in the hotel. Then we checked in early with an additional fee of 900. And checked out too early. They should call the client prior to the date so that we could find any place. Duuh!!!

Review 2:I like in this hotel is their air conditioned room. Also the hot shower and a meal ticket for a free breakfast, wifi , cable tv

Review 3:Bad smell in the comfort room 2 cockroaches during our first night Door key takes time to unlock door Had to call reception at night when we want to use hot shower

Review 4:Just across Robinsons mall and beside Mcdo, Red Ribbon and Shakeys.

Review 5:toilet was not well maintained (clogged); there was a dreadful cockroach sighting; loud music/sound system that vibrates through the room walls;

Review 6:location is near the mall and airport; lady guard was very helpful

Review 7:front desk staff are not warm and courteous. long desk in the room is too high for a low chair, so it was difficult to work. stained comforter / sheets.

Review 8:as rated above, easy to find location, yummy breakfast and good wifi connection in the room.

Review 9:I wish it has a safe for individual rooms.

Review 10:Very close to family home. I liked it's convenient location, being close to Robinson's & to places where to eat.

Review 11:1. Loud music coming from the casino (or other establishment from the hotel building 2. Free breakfast not very good 3. Toilet leak

Review 12:1. Location 2. Enough power sockets 3. Enough towels 4. Accommodating staff

Review 13:Not really, but the hot water system didn't work, and they charge 50 Pesos (One Euro) for an extra pillow, which is too much.

Review 14:The Viven hotel is OK, located in San Nicolas, across the Laoag river, near Robinson's mall. Clean; The staff is nice, but a bit sloppy.

Review 15:We reserved for a superior room but the receptionist told us deluxe rm is the only available. Pls. Don't let me be mad. She gave us what we wanted. My husband is a senior citizen but no sr. Discount allowed, W H Y?

Review 16:Location is great!

Review 17:When I arrived at the airport, I called the hotel to ask for an airport transfer & had to call back 3 times. They don't have a record of my phone number & can't get in at the booking.com site where I requested an airport transfer. Most hotels provide this as part of their room rates. Thirty minutes later, a van picked me up from the hotel. All along I was thinking that this service will be free until my arrival at the reception desk where I learned that the 15 minute ride costs me 400 pesos!!! I was alarmed that no fees were mentioned the first time I ask for this service. I told the receptionist that I'm having a problem with this fee & all she did was smile & keep apologizing. But the final outcome was that she still insisted that I had to pay this exorbitant fee. I had to pay this amount because I WAS NOT INFORMED properly & clearly about this fee. This is so UNACCEPTABLE that a guest had to pick up the tab for an employee's wrongdoing. But after dishing out that 400 pesos, I was just relieved & thankful that there's a review section at this travel site. People around the world will see this review & will have second thoughts before booking at this hotel.

Review 18:The room is clean, hotel is close to the mall & guards are attentive.

Review 19:We had to ask to have our sheets changed as there was a very bad spot on them, but the staff came right away.

Review 20:The staff at this hotel are very friendly, know the area well and make nice recommendations on what to see and where to eat. Hotels are very limited in this town and pricey for what you get. We opted for the Viven hotel as it was next to a mall. It is a very small mall but they do have a decent movie theater. The rooms are very simple and sparse. For a new hotel you would expect the rooms to be in better condition. This hotel is in San Nicholas – about a 5 min car jeepney ride from Lauag. It is on the 4th floor of a strip mall. There is a guard who helps you with the elevator. Breakfast is at the little coffee shop in the strip mall. You have a choice of two local dishes and drip coffee. We opted for the cheesecake and brownie and had to pay more, but it was a very little amount. very average.

Review 21:1) toilet is not clean and drainage is clogged. If you increase pressure of shower, water overflow on bath floor. 2) linen are with spots of dirt. 3) the room was not clean as dust is everywhere 4) on the 1st the room they assigned to us, shelves are broken, closet doors are broken. They want us to take what is there on the said room. 5) they are serving local food for breakfast and they want us to pay extra for other type of food (we did not agree to pay, but they served, in 1 plate 2 fried eggs, white bread, cheese & jam). We need to go out of hotel and go to a canteen down the building for the said breakfast. 6) Before we travel to Laoag, we were in Makati City where we rented a new apartment unit with all the facility including all toiletries and complementary drinking water, free wifi and cable. It cost us only 2,200 pesos per night. 7)YOU HAVE TO REMOVED THIS HOTEL ON YOUR LISTING, UNTIL THEY IMPROVE THE FACILITIES.

Review 22:No security dead bolt / lock on the door for added security specially at night. Not enough light in the restroom. Wish they would install a shower curtain, it's a mess every time you shower. Sneak-in bed actually mattress only were put on the floor and No Fridge.

Review 23:Location is perfect. Spacious room with adequate lighting. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

Review 24:It would be nice if more comfortable pillows were provided. A bidet would also be convenient in the toilet. With regard to breakfast, it would be nice if there were more choices of food especially for those who do not eat meat.

Review 25:The bedrooms were clean as well as the towels. Housekeeping was also done regularly. Overall our experience was very good.

Review 26:Unsafe parking space..we lost our fortuner logo, in front of the hotel. No available cafeteria in the hotel.low water supply.

Review 27:poor wifi connection

Review 28:location

Review 29:The toilet is not so clean

Review 30:water supply in the shower is not good

Review 31:The location

Review 32:water supply in shower room is too weak

Review 33:HARD mattress.

Review 34:Next to Robinson's Mall. McDonald's is next door. Shower water is actually hot.

Review 35:Food very good and staff are great. We will come back soon.

Review 36:Breakfast is not good. Far from the center of laoag. Expensive.

Review 37:This hotel is new and clean. Walking distance to robinsons mall. Staff are nice.

Review 38:Cigarette smoke coming from the casino, all over the hallways

Review 39:Friendly staff, free breakfast

Review 40:Drapery needs to be improved to block sunlight. No swimming pool.

Review 41:It may not have the usual trimmings of a fancy boutique hotel but this small hotel rocks! The room and shower are clean, the bed and the linens are crisp and comfy, the room air conditioning is individually controlled, wifi signal is good, a HUGE flat screen Cable TV, and the best part, the staff are so warm, friendly, and helpful. The hotel is located right beside a big shopping mall, mc donalds, shakey's pizza, and local food outlets. there is a small casino, and a full service day spa. It's a jeepney ride/short drive to downtown Laoag, and few minutes drive to the airport.
