Review 1：We are guests who have stayed on several occasions and were quite pleased with the hotel. This time we booked a standard room which is supposed to have a size of 17 square meters, but the room was very small i.e. probably less than 12 square meters. Thus, we were given a sub-standard room. A good hotel would have offered a reduction in price or an upgraded room which was available during our stay.

Review 2：Had to go to another hotel for the swimmingpool (bring along swimsuite, change clothing (also of children (in 35degrees) etc. swimmingpool was crowded (shared swimmingpool) Smell of pizza's in the bar/cafe (no other lounge facility) Noise of garbage (tuesday morning), buses no view on castle except from swimmingpool

Review 4：Position was great and the free parking was a real bonus. The food was excellent, both at Breakfast and in both restaurants. The breakfast was the best I have ever had in a hotel and well worth the money. The health suite in the nearby hotel was also great - I would recommend this hotel.

Review 5：The parking on site is very limited, we got parked in and the owners of the car couldn't be found, very frustrating and after a lot of manoevrring we finally managed to get the car out

Review 7：Two big, big negatives!!!.(1) The single, most important reason one stays at a hotel is to sleep. This was a terrible experience at this hotel. The beds were awful - lumpy with no support. You couldn't sit on the side of the bed without sliding off onto the floor. Once on the bed, the cheap springs (no, not a platform as found in most German hotels) sank down nearly to the floor. I survived; my wife ended up sleeping on the floor both nights. I would not stay at this hotel again. (2) Staff - all the staff we encountered including those at the front desk and wait staff in the restaurant - were very, very unfriendly - even grumpy. They were not helpful with any question and made us feel like we were bothering them by showing up. We don't need super friendliness, although that can be nice at times, but we expect staff to be courteous and helpful with basic questions.

Review 8：The following were positives: (1) a great location in the center ofVianden; (2) convenient parking right next to the hotel; (3) veryquiet - our room was near the rear of the building; (4) excellentbuffet breakfast; & (5) a good, reasonably priced pizza restauranton the premises. (Perhaps the French restaurant also within the hotelwas good - don't know as we didn't eat there - but it wasvery, very expensive and, on the two nights we stayed at the hotel,was virtually empty.

Review 9：Our stay was very nice. The room was quite comfortable and large for the cost. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. One surprise was that the hotel had both a traditional restaurant and an Italian restaurant in the hotel. The wood fired pizza oven churned out delicious thin and crispy pizzas.

Review 13：We were given room number 12 which is right next to a very noisy exit door. The door kept banging till close to midnight and we were woken up again around 7 by very noisy housekeeping. After mentioning this to the management we were offered a room on the top floor (307). This room turned out to be as noisy due to local kids playing in a small playground under our windows. The worst though was the heat in the room after a hot day. There is no airco and the room was to hot to sleep in. Next time we will stay in the hotel next door.

Review 14：We liked the location in the village. Rooms were clean and the restaurant serves good food. Having use of the pool in the hotel next door was great and the kids loved this.

Review 17：Great hotel. Lovely room on the first floor with its own private balcony. Really good choice at breakfast. In the centre of town on on the main road but traffic noise was minimal. Lovely terrace area for drinks and entertainment.

Review 18：Only major downside was a very rude and arrogant waiter in the restaurant,very pushy and annoying. We wanted garlic bread as a starter each and he responded by saying that bread comes out before the meal anyway. so we agreed and what came out was a mesely few slices of a roll with plain butter. He then brought out the wrong dish for main course. Plenty of flies in the restaurant and no atmosphere. its a shame as the food was quite good, but the experience made us wish we had gone elsewhere for dinner. Administration was a little off as they tried to charge us 40 euro for breakfast which we didnt have. Limited Parking

Review 22：Room decorations and sofa are tacky and shabby. Need updates. Air conditioning is sorely needed. Not even a fan was provided. Room was SO hot! Windows can only open a few inches. Tub is a hazard to get in and out of and beware of slipping in the tub, shower head dispenses a trickle of water, liquid soap in the shower and thin/small towels. Using the protecting the environment argument is no excuse for the above. I recycle and conserve. Small changes to the way you conduct business will go a long way (provide efficient water flow shower heads/tiny bars of soap) to satisfy the guests and protect the environment.

We stayed in room/apt 306 with our 3 children it was perfect for us, we could cook for them if they were hungry and the local service station had a very sufficient shop. Nothing in the town supermarket wise! Staff all very friendly and all speak several languages, made us feel ashamed of our poor French and German! Great location for everything and the food is fantastic!

Review 38：I'm always disappointed with single beds pretending to be double beds. We did manage to switch to get an actual double bed, but as it still had single duvets and a foamy mattress layover the bed was not the highlight.

Review 54：- Expect a quiet sleepy town atmosphere. Not a consatnt hussle, at least in late OCT. The castle and Indian Forest is a great walk. Terrific German food at the Hot Stone Chalet.

Review 61：Unfortunately, the most important part of our stay - sleeping - was very poor. The plastic mattress covers made it way too hot and sticky to sleep. We opened the window and put on the fan but did not succeed. We spent the night tossing and turning.

Review 77：The Hotel Petry is centrally located in Vianden. The staff was very helpful and the room was great. We had requested a fan because it was July and there was one provided. They also gave us a sample of the local walnut liqueur. The hotel has free parking either on site or close by.

Nonetheless I ended up having to wait at the reception desk for quite a while, as staff members (now focusing on the restaurant) walked past without addressing me. Having to wait was not a big deal, but having people walk past you, see that you need help, and then keep on walking, is never good. My other interactions with the staff were quite good, though.
