Review 2：Travelling with 2 dogs and all their paraphernalia and the Hotel Ancora is so convenient for the car park and walks along the promenade. But, they also have a pull in parking space right outside the entrance where you can unload and load. Has lovely lake views from the bedrooms and an excellent breakfast.

Review 10：The room was VERY loud (very busy street outside and restaurants next to the hotel) - it was loud even very late at night. There was very small choice of cheese for breakfast - it is strange that in the country where there are so many kinds of cheese they proposed only "yellow" and "processed cheese".

Review 26：Having stayed at Ancora for 2 nights last year and loving it when we got the opportunity to return this year we jumped at the chance. The hotel remains excellent. This time we booked a standard room with no view and were surprised and delighted to be put in one of the Apartementi which had two floors including a sizeable living room. Everything was great.

Review 27：The staff were very helpful and friendly. Tryin at the front desk went out of her way to assist us when we were having problems with the online checkin at Alitalia. The breakfast was very good... Especially the fresh squeezed orange juice.

Review 44：We paid extra money for a room with a balcony with a lake view, as we saw it on pictures. BUT it was not worth the money... Balcony didn't really exist, as it was about 20-25cm wide, with two uncomfortable chairs and a tiny cheap (dirty) table. Not our idea of a balcony.. As far as the lake view is concerned, we were able to see a very small part of water, not exactly what we had in mind. Decent hotel, but in any case overpriced!

Review 76：Intra, where hotel is located, is built up, not picturesque and not set up for tourists - the few restaurants do not serve food in the afternoons and the ones we tried were staffed by quite rude people (maybe because we were English in a minority of mostly German visitors, I don't know). Ferry staff also impolite and last ferries from other towns come back as early as 7.00pm. We wish we had stayed in Stresa.

Review 103：Our room had floor to ceiling terrace windows that opened up to a terrace overlooking the lake.. Beautiful Breakfast was perfect especially that there was a machine to squeeze your own orange juice..

Review 104：We enjoyed our stay, but the rooms we're not sound proof if you're looking for absolute silence. The street outside is busy, but if you want to overlook the lake, that's the price you're going to pay. Also, the coffee at the breakfast buffet is labeled as "American coffee", and while the effort is appreciated, it's not so good, but there's a good reason for this. Your not in America, and if you've not traveled in Italy, the Italians don't do "American" coffee! Italians drink espresso, and you should too when you're there! Drink American coffee when you're back home. Ask one of the staff at breakfast for a doppio espresso (double espresso) and if you can't enjoy it with a little sugar like the Italians, add a little hot water from the tea kettle set up for the Brits! Voila! That will be close enough for your cafe Americano, and uh, Bob's your uncle!

Review 105：The staff was very nice and helpful and spoke very good English which was appreciated, and the location was excellent. We had a lake facing room that had a beautiful view over the lake. We asked for a recommendation for pizza, and the recommendation of the young lady there was Pizzeria Pontile just a couple of blocks away. We took her advice and appeared to be the only tourist there, but the place was packed with locals for a good reason. Prices were very reasonable and the food was fantastic!

Two days we had to depart early for tours and they made sure breakfast was available to us even though the buffet was not open yet. The location was perfect for traveling around the lake. Review 111：We arrived late in the evening to the hotel and were checked in to a room, supposedly an uprade, (it was a large suite but interior was a bit oudated and not the ones that appear in the website), this would have been OK but the aircondition was not working and the WIFI was not working. The staff late at night could not do anything with all of these issues. Next morning the staff changed our room to a very nice and modern room, the manager, Roberto/Robi, went out of his way to assist us with the WIFI and he did fix the issue. After that our stay was flawless. So yes they had some issues the first night but the staff and the Roberto went out of their way to fix the isseus and make us "happy campers". So yes I would recommend and stay there again but woudl ask for the renovated rooms.

Nice double room overlooking the lake with small balcony (for 133 or 143 euros nevertheless!), well equiped and furnished with design. Really excellent breakfast with fresh bread and pastry... Excellent welcome.
