Reviews for Weelaway On Gregory
Review 1:There was no human contact. Although we received very good instructions on how to access the property and where everything was, I found it really strange that we did not see anyone besides a brief encounter with another guest.
Review 2:The guesthouse was clean and comfortable.
Review 3:Was a little disappointed about the maintenance eg dead plants outside sitting area ,washing line (wash dragging on the floor )Kitchen could be better organised with no boxes on the floors .etc.
Review 4:This was our second stay .Love the homely ,cosy feel .good bathroom
Review 5:Nice spacious home. Comfortable beds. Convenient location in town. Quiet neighbourhood. Quaint and full of character. Would definitely stay here again!
Review 6:would like to have met someone there. A friendly face and welcome reinforces your first impressions of a place
Review 7:very comfortable room. Liked the quirkiness of the place
Review 8:- Lights in room are too dim - No / weak WIFI signal
Review 9:- Large room (Regency Room - room without bathroom) - Shared Bathroom is clean and it is solely for our use since rest of the guest rooms have en-suite bathroom - Simple breakfast with good variety
Review 10:No on suite, no mention of no on suite, Shower & toilet were down the hall. Had to walk past every other room to get there. Room was dirty, not cleaned, found Bobby pins on floor from previous guest. Bathroom was a shocker, shower door would not close, shower drain blocked had a used block of soap to wash with. Never again :(
Review 11:Didn't like the self checkin, gardens no maintained and rooms are small. Not value for money...
Review 12:Location was reasonable and interior of place was okay.
Review 13:Rooms could do with a bit of freshening up ie paint, plaster, bathroom accessories, blinds. Gardens and outdoor settings could do with a tidy up also.
Review 14:Location Heritage home Room name a nod to a famous author breakfast included Comfortable bed
Review 15:Clearer instruction on what we were able to use from the fridge and maybe some porridge or yogurt, we used our own as selection was very limited. a pre order for those of us who book in advance would be a possible solution and then those ingredients could be placed in our room or in a basket in the fridge with our name.
Review 16:The setting was lovely and house beautiful, very relaxing and quiet room was delightful as was the rest of the house. We enjoyed unwinding on the verandah with a book and a wine!
Review 17:There was no margarine/butter or fresh milk after night one even though I rang the host about this and breakfast was supposed to be included, thankfully some other guests had felt forced to buy some and shared it with us
Review 18:A lovely historical home and room with excellent comfort, enjoyed having a wine in the courtyard, looking at the many local photo books
Review 19:The only down side was that it was a bit further from town than I had anticipated. I did not have a car so needed to walk into town for meals and as a solo traveller, needed to make sure I was organised to do this during daylight hours. A 2 night stay didn't warrant buying supplies to cook my own meals.
Review 20:I liked that I was staying in a house with character instead of just a hotel/motel. The bedroom was very comfortable and there was lots of shared living space if I wanted to relax other than in the bedroom.
Review 21:Everything was pretty much right, but I felt that more powerful (modern) microwave would be good, as well as fruit juice for breakfast.
Review 22:I liked the general comfort and layout. It was an older house with thick walls, so was very quiet. The kitchen could be used to heat meals in the microwave in the evening, as well as prepare light snacks.
Review 23:Distance of bathroom from budget room. If I had realised how far away it was I would have booked an ensuite.
Review 24:Large well equipped house. Friendly welcome. Relaxed atmosphere.
Review 25:My best friend is the sister of Randolph Stowe, and we didn't realize we were booking his grandmother's house as a B& B. It was totally delightful.
Review 26:I felt the continental breakfast was OK, but I didn't see any fruit juice. Maybe I didn't look hard enough. I'm sure if I'd have asked, it would have been supplied - it's that kind of place.
Review 27:I liked the warmth of the proprietress, Jackie, and the very comfortable bed. The lounge had everything for relaxing, and there was a selection of DVDs that could be played on the integral player behind the TV. The walls are very thick, so all the rooms are dead quiet. There is parking space on the property.
Review 28:We had a call saying that the ceiling had fallen in in the ensuite toilet. Person said that they would contact the tourist bureau and ask for another vacancy. She emphasised she would call back. Didn't hear again. I called her, left a message and did not have a response. Pretty rude and disappointing.
Review 29:Absolutely Nothing unpleasant about the stay- except wifi didnt work on my phone and I couldnt find a scrabble game- but why complain?!
Review 30:Self service check in Brilliant communications Luxurious bedding Upgraded without asking Private Historical ambience
Review 31:This is a "self service" hotel. Clearer instructions on how to check in would be helpful.
Review 32:Well furnished room in period home. Very comfortable
Review 33:That our trip didn't allow a longer stay.
Review 34:Very nicely done and maintained historic house in very quiet residential area. Some rooms with bath, some not. But all are well appointed rooms with large, expansive common areas for reading, eating, or just browsing. Kitchen large and basic breakfast staples available - bread, toast, cereal, coffee, tea, milk, and so on. CATV in-room. Several bookshelves of reading material ranging from pulp novels to history and beyound.
Review 35:There wasn't soap for me to wash with. I could not find a blanket in the bedroom.
Review 36:The location is great. The people were quiet. The house is clean and spacious.
Review 37:Nothing to dislike although hosts/managers not always on site and first time visitors need to make sure they have email with access code to key box
Review 38:Wonderful historical building beautifully furnished, Wonderful atmosphere and great facilities. Well equiped farm kitchen for guest use.
Review 39:nothing
Review 40:central location, pleasant welcome in an interesting old house with living area to relax in. Breakfast provisions available in kitchen for guests to make their own.
Review 41:Bathroom needs updating but clean.
Review 42:It was in a great location, very convenient to get around town. Lots of space in common areas. Great to have breakfast there even though very basic
Review 43:Nothing!
Review 44:Jackie was really nice and helpful, telling us the things to do to make the most of our short stay in Gearldton. The b&b was lovely - we had an ensuite double bedroom and all of the property was decorated to a high standard which has a very homely feel.
Review 45:not at all
Review 46:although chose only cpl of hours before my arrival a was basically a blind choice I left satisfied. Nice and friendly personal, cool place with its own charm, and not really far ,walking distance, to city centre.
Review 47:Nothing.
Review 48:Nice ambience, characteristic type decor, good facilities and setting, convenient location, good continental breakfast, definately a place just like home.
Review 49:Air con in Room 1 so noisy couldn't sleep. Disappointed with continental breakfast in b&b. Main light in bedroom very dim which made room gloomy.
Review 50:Bed was lovely. House itself is very well furnished and set out but light switches were hard to find and place gloomy without. Surprisingly hot house even with very high ceilings (was a very hot day)
Review 51:Nothing that I didn't like
Review 52:Everything - such a wonderful change from the usual hotel / motels I stay In for work - and I had it to myself this time
Review 53:Had no problems and no complaints. I believe the other rooms had shared bathroom, toilet facilities.
Review 54:Situated fairly close to town. We stayed in Randolph Stowe king suite so had private bathroom etc. Didn't see any staff as you book yourself in and out. Tea & coffee etc in room, with a fully equipped kitchen available if wanted. Cereal, bread, milk etc available if you wanted it for breakfast, and meals could be ordered in I believe but we didn't do any of that as we were only there for one night to attend the HMAS Sydney Memorial service. Suite was comfortable with a verandah if you wanted to sit outside. House built in 1870's so pretty old but very nicely done up in the rooms we saw. A lounge and dining room for guests.
Review 55:Beautifully restored, unique old B and B. Spotlessly clean and well presented. A welcome change from the usual "Motel Anywhere" Good location on a quiet street, not far from Geraldton's town centre and beach.
Review 56:we stayed in a room with no ensuite, and the "public" bathroom was not up to the rest.
Review 57:Friendliness of staff/owner. Rooms and house with style, nicely decorated, clean and comfy.
Review 58:One bed lamp did not work. Power lead unsafe. Had to get toilet paper from rear toilet. Septic tank smell at rear.
Review 59:Location period character. Lounge room.
Review 60:The furniture and furnishings were antique and provided lots of character. The room i had been upgraded to include a tastefully completed ensuite. The rest of the house was a home from home and lovely. Shame I was only staying for one night. But for longer duration stayers it would be perfect with fully available kitchen, large lounge and outdoor area. The lady was very helpful, energetic and full of enthusiasm for her town.
Review 61:renovated homestead, clean comfortable, breakfast facilities provided, you don't get bothered by anyone and other guests were quite respectful of your 'space
Review 62:Kept awake early evening with rats either under floorboards or in next room. We thought it was our room in the corner but we could not find them.
Review 63:Bed very comfortable. Clean.
Review 64:would like to see mobility rails in the ensuite, particularly the shower recess.
Review 65:Yesteryear decor and furnishings Modern day facilities Well stocked clean kitchen Helpful information from co-owner, Jackie. Good value for town location accommodation
Review 66:One Central TV away from sleeping areas would probably be better than one in each room as walls not very soundproof!!
Review 67:Very comfortable, clean and welcoming. Felt like home away from home.
Review 68:the location was a little hard to find on the first night with 'no entry' streets. A power failure in the area for approx 8 hours on a very cold, stormy Saturday. This however was no fault of the Management.
Review 69:The lovely 'old world 'charm of the house with a history dating back more than a Century. The fact that we free to use the kitchen/living/dining and outdoor areas.
Review 70:The toilet roll holder kept falling off the wall as did the towel holder. It was a very cold night and the lovely living room was not comfortable to sit in. I would have liked better lighting on the bedside tables for reading.
Review 71:I loved the oldness of the cottage and the way it had been restored. Our bed was very comfortable, the heat on a cold night fine, shower was wonderful and we liked the self catering with a fully equipped kitchen. I liked the location as it was within walking distance of the ocean and the downtown area and our hostess was so friendly making sure we were well cared for. I will go back there...I love the charm of the house and grounds.
Review 72:nothing not to like about it.
Review 73:like stepping back into another era, visiting favourite great aunt - able to use and enjoy the comforts and beauty of her house - as though you are house sitting - with aunt away. huge backyard, great for us who always seem to have a car trailer or open ute full of stuff- secure and not on main drag. we have been before and will go again.
Review 74:Geraltdons water so chlorinated it felt like we were drinking bleach so I could recommend having bottled water or a water dispenser
Review 75:The bed
Review 76:Very quite and clean place close to the centre. Absolutely recommend!
Review 77:Just feels like home,no hassels.

Review 86:Lovely old style house with period furniture. Very comfortable and clean.
Review 87:No bread left by the time we got to breakfast.
Review 88:Great location and comfortable "period style" room and lounge.
Review 89:The fact that Im single lol.I lost my room keys but thats not their fault.
Review 90:The Decor throughout was pleasant.Close to facilities.
Review 91:Not enough natural light coming into the room making it a bit dark
Review 92:The period decor, easy access and cheery friendly staff

Review 96:Nothing

Review 98:A sink full of dirty dishes and half full of cold greasy water.
Review 99:A lovely old home with a lovely comfortable bed.
Review 100:Breakfast was very limited, no fruit juice and no brewed coffee which we expected.
